prefer_v the_o measure_n to_o the_o fullness_n the_o stream_n to_o the_o fountain_n the_o effect_n to_o the_o cause_n the_o gift_n to_o the_o giver_n and_o the_o life_n in_o the_o hand_n and_o foot_n and_o other_o member_n to_o the_o life_n in_o the_o head_n and_o the_o sap_n and_o virtue_n that_o be_v in_o the_o branch_n to_o that_o which_o be_v in_o the_o tree_n and_o root_n and_o see_v the_o work_n of_o regeneration_n and_o sanctification_n in_o the_o saint_n be_v a_o great_a mystery_n must_v we_o not_o own_v he_o who_o be_v the_o author_n and_o great_a cause_n of_o it_o to_o be_v great_a unless_o vv._n penn_n will_v say_v that_o it_o be_v not_o christ_n without_o we_o but_o only_o christ_n within_o we_o that_o be_v the_o author_n and_o cause_n of_o regeneration_n indeed_o if_o he_o can_v prove_v that_o only_a christ_n within_o man_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o regeneration_n he_o have_v gain_v his_o point_n but_o this_o he_o will_v never_o be_v able_a to_o do_v and_o he_o may_v expect_v as_o soon_o to_o persuade_v man_n of_o understanding_n that_o the_o sun_n be_v no_o cause_n of_o the_o generation_n of_o herb_n and_o plant_n in_o the_o earth_n be_v without_o they_o as_o that_o christ_n without_o man_n be_v not_o the_o cause_n of_o the_o work_n of_o regeneration_n within_o for_o if_o we_o ascribe_v the_o work_n of_o regeneration_n within_o man_n to_o christ_n or_o to_o his_o spirit_n light_n and_o life_n within_o as_o the_o measure_n that_o measure_v within_o come_v from_o the_o fullness_n in_o the_o man_n christ_n without_o they_o yea_o and_o from_o the_o man_n christ_n in_o who_o the_o fullness_n dwell_v and_o the_o measure_n act_v in_o the_o saint_n by_o the_o power_n and_o strength_n of_o the_o fullness_n thereof_o for_o and_o vv._n p._n or_o g._n vv._n to_o suppose_v the_o mystery_n of_o regeneration_n can_v either_o be_v experience_v witness_v or_o understand_v without_o the_o mystery_n of_o christ_n without_o we_o argue_v as_o great_a ignorance_n in_o they_o as_o if_o one_o shall_v think_v he_o can_v demonstrate_v the_o generation_n of_o herb_n and_o plant_n spring_a out_o of_o the_o earth_n without_o the_o sun_n but_o it_o be_v a_o further_a instance_n of_o vv._n penn_n his_o great_a ignorance_n in_o the_o mystery_n of_o christ_n that_o by_o his_o word_n above_o name_v he_o make_v christ_n without_o but_o the_o introduction_n to_o the_o mystery_n viz._n christ_n within_o as_o to_o say_v the_o life_n in_o the_o head_n be_v but_o a_o introduction_n to_o the_o life_n in_o the_o member_n and_o thus_o the_o member_n shall_v be_v more_o valuable_a than_o the_o head_n and_o last_o it_o be_v a_o most_o rant_a strain_n in_o he_o to_o say_v that_o what_o christ_n do_v and_o suffer_v without_o man_n which_o he_o call_v transaction_n to_o be_v so_o many_o facile_a representation_n of_o what_o be_v to_o be_v accomplish_v in_o man._n thus_o christ_n without_o be_v make_v but_o a_o type_n figure_n and_o mystery_n of_o godliness_n but_o christ_n manifest_v in_o his_o child_n the_o hope_n of_o glory_n he_o set_v thing_n in_o opposition_n which_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v oppose_v but_o join_v together_o and_o he_o pervert_v most_o gross_o these_o word_n of_o the_o apostle_n paul_n even_o as_o some_o of_o his_o late_a brethren_n have_v do_v 1_o tim._n 3._o 16._o without_o controversy_n great_a be_v the_o mystery_n of_o godliness_n god_n manifest_a in_o the_o flesh_n justify_v in_o the_o spirit_n etc._n etc._n jumble_v two_o place_n of_o scripture_n together_o and_o confound_v their_o sense_n
