hypocrite_n and_o sincere_a christian_n any_o external_a visible_a performance_n in_o which_o the_o disciple_n of_o the_o pharisee_n may_v be_v more_o abundant_a and_o more_o specious_a than_o the_o disciple_n of_o christ_n mat._n 9_o 14._o much_o less_o by_o any_o corporal_a or_o temporal_a enjoyment_n or_o ornament_n strength_n beauty_n riches_n descent_n etc._n etc._n nor_o by_o any_o carnal_a relation_n though_o it_o be_v to_o abraham_n as_o the_o jew_n brag_v of_o their_o father_n abraham_n joh._n 8._o 33._o but_o by_o something_o internal_a substantial_a by_o a_o relation_n to_o god_n the_o character_n of_o a_o good_a man_n must_v be_v fetch_v from_o his_o correspondence_n to_o the_o chief_a good_a and_o the_o happiness_n of_o a_o soul_n must_v be_v judge_v of_o by_o its_o relation_n to_o life_n and_o love_n and_o blessedness_n itself_o thing_n external_a corporal_a temporal_a make_v some_o difference_n among_o man_n but_o it_o be_v but_o nominal_a and_o titular_a in_o comparison_n by_o these_o man_n be_v say_v to_o be_v rich_a or_o poor_a noble_a or_o ignoble_a but_o man_n be_v real_o and_o substantial_o difference_v by_o the_o relation_n that_o they_o have_v to_o god_n by_o this_o they_o be_v good_a or_o bad_a godly_a or_o wicked_a this_o be_v the_o most_o certain_a and_o proper_a note_n of_o a_o good_a man_n viz._n communion_n with_o god_n in_o all_o other_o thing_n he_o may_v be_v liâ—e_z other_o man_n but_o in_o this_o he_o differ_v from_o and_o excel_v they_o all_o this_o be_v a_o character_n proper_a quarto_fw-la modo_fw-la for_o it_o agree_v to_o every_o good_a man_n to_o none_o but_o a_o good_a man_n and_o always_o to_o he_o as_o we_o shall_v see_v hereafter_o the_o ground_n of_o my_o discourse_n then_o shall_v be_v this_o short_a and_o plain_a proposition_n viz._n a_o godly_a man_n have_v communion_n with_o god_n in_o order_n to_o the_o more_o distinct_a handle_n hereof_o i_o must_v premise_v a_o few_o thing_n brief_o 1._o that_o the_o gracious_a and_o love_a god_n make_v nothing_o miserable_a of_o all_o that_o he_o have_v make_v there_o be_v no_o slave_n bear_v in_o his_o great_a house_n of_o the_o world_n he_o make_v all_o thing_n out_o of_o himself_o and_o he_o have_v no_o idea_n of_o evil_n in_o himself_o so_o that_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o he_o shall_v make_v any_o thing_n evil_a or_o miserable_a every_o thing_n be_v good_a gen._n 1._o and_o so_o in_o some_o sense_n happy_a he_o be_v free_a to_o make_v the_o world_n but_o make_v it_o he_o can_v not_o make_v it_o evil_n or_o
