the_o argument_n in_o hand_n be_v not_o to_o prove_v the_o transcendent_a excellency_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n above_o the_o angel_n and_o their_o dignity_n but_o because_o that_o the_o name_n of_o angel_n be_v a_o term_n of_o no_o great_a dignity_n because_o sometime_o god_n call_v the_o wind_n angel_n or_o minister_n whether_o this_o their_o notion_n will_v stand_v or_o no_o it_o be_v not_o much_o material_a as_o to_o that_o which_o i_o shall_v commend_v unto_o you_o for_o our_o purpose_n for_o if_o god_n call_v the_o wind_n by_o name_n of_o angel_n or_o the_o fire_n his_o angel_n it_o be_v a_o sign_n that_o he_o do_v delight_n to_o make_v those_o his_o messenger_n that_o be_v most_o active_a and_o full_a of_o spirit_n in_o their_o way_n for_o so_o be_v the_o wind_n and_o flame_n of_o fire_n and_o so_o be_v angel_n strong_a and_o swift_a like_a unto_o the_o wind_n and_o zealous_a in_o their_o way_n like_o fire_n and_o consequent_o every_o way_n meet_v and_o accommodate_v for_o the_o service_n of_o the_o great_a god_n in_o like_a manner_n by_o your_o be_v fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n this_o high_a privilege_n will_v certain_o accrue_v unto_o you_o that_o your_o stand_n on_o earth_n will_v be_v much_o like_o the_o stand_n of_o the_o angel_n in_o heaven_n who_o continual_o stand_v before_o god_n and_o attend_v upon_o he_o for_o a_o beck_n to_o be_v cause_v the_o offensiveness_n of_o good_a way_n and_o work_n especial_o in_o some_o of_o the_o most_o excellent_a service_n of_o god_n and_o of_o man_n and_o that_o which_o seem_v hard_a and_o troublesome_a to_o the_o flesh_n in_o they_o to_o cease_v it_o will_v reconcile_v the_o disproportion_n between_o your_o heart_n and_o such_o service_n and_o employment_n both_o for_o god_n and_o man_n we_o all_o know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o natural_a averseness_n and_o indisposedness_n in_o the_o flesh_n of_o man_n unto_o many_o service_n of_o god_n especial_o unto_o those_o which_o be_v most_o honourable_a and_o most_o worthy_a of_o christian_n i_o say_v there_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o listlessness_n and_o hang_v back_o of_o the_o flesh_n unto_o such_o duty_n as_o these_o we_o be_v speak_v of_o which_o be_v occasion_v by_o nothing_o else_o but_o only_o by_o their_o disproportion_n which_o they_o have_v with_o man_n there_o be_v something_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o man_n which_o do_v not_o answer_v to_o something_o in_o the_o work_n and_o service_n now_o then_o by_o your_o be_v fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n this_o disproportion_n which_o lie_v between_o your_o heart_n and_o this_o service_n of_o god_n will_v be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o way_n you_o know_v the_o say_n of_o the_o apostle_n gal._n 5.17_o for_o the_o flesh_n lu_v against_o the_o spirit_n and_o lust_a of_o the_o spirit_n against_o the_o flesh_n will_v be_v a_o mean_n to_o weaken_v the_o lusting_n of_o the_o flesh_n so_o that_o you_o will_v have_v no_o desire_n to_o do_v those_o thing_n which_o you_o be_v natural_o incline_v unto_o and_o if_o the_o spirit_n be_v strong_a in_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o man_n these_o lusting_n of_o the_o spirit_n will_v be_v strong_a also_o yea_o they_o will_v if_o they_o be_v not_o obstruct_v in_o their_o way_n advance_v and_o grow_v strong_a until_o all_o the_o lusting_n of_o the_o flesh_n be_v subdue_v and_o all_o disposition_n and_o inclination_n every_o obscure_a and_o knotty_a passage_n such_o a_o man_n as_o can_v do_v this_o be_v a_o excellent_a man_n too_o and_o full_a of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o respect_n of_o knowledge_n and_o yet_o this_o man_n possible_o may_v not_o be_v able_a or_o dexterous_a to_o apply_v or_o bring_v those_o thing_n and_o general_a principle_n that_o he_o know_v and_o suit_v they_o with_o particular_a case_n and_o question_n which_o be_v bring_v to_o he_o and_o lay_v before_o he_o whereas_o another_o that_o have_v not_o half_a his_o knowledge_n may_v be_v able_a to_o do_v it_o and_o to_o give_v a_o plain_a and_o full_a satisfaction_n unto_o he_o that_o shall_v propound_v a_o case_n or_o difficulty_n unto_o he_o so_o that_o this_o we_o will_v have_v you_o take_v notice_n of_o by_o the_o way_n that_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n have_v variety_n of_o gift_n and_o therefore_o we_o be_v not_o to_o estimate_v a_o man_n as_o not_o fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n because_o he_o be_v not_o dexterous_a at_o every_o turn_n these_o thing_n be_v premise_v we_o now_o proceed_v to_o the_o question_n now_o then_o whether_o a_o person_n man_n or_o woman_n sect._n 6_o who_o pretend_v to_o be_v fill_v with_o above_o any_o other_o thing_n whatsoever_o it_o persuade_v man_n not_o to_o meddle_v not_o to_o have_v to_o do_v with_o sin_n upon_o any_o term_n whether_o of_o pleasure_n profit_n honour_n or_o whatsoever_o and_o then_o next_o to_o this_o it_o teach_v man_n to_o be_v peaceable_a gentle_a easy_a to_o be_v entreat_v etc._n etc._n which_o be_v to_o be_v understand_v chief_o in_o a_o man_n own_o or_o quietness_n of_o disposition_n about_o their_o own_o affair_n may_v be_v rather_o the_o result_n of_o their_o own_o natural_a complexion_n or_o constitution_n than_o any_o effect_n of_o the_o wisdom_n from_o above_o or_o of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n work_v in_o and_o by_o this_o wisdom_n for_o though_o peaceableness_n of_o spirit_n gentleness_n easiness_n to_o be_v entreat_v etc._n etc._n be_v the_o fruit_n or_o effect_n of_o the_o wisdom_n from_o above_o viz._n in_o the_o most_o of_o those_o in_o who_o they_o be_v find_v yet_o it_o do_v not_o follow_v from_o thence_o but_o that_o there_o may_v be_v in_o some_o person_n impression_n or_o quality_n like_v unto_o these_o from_o another_o original_n or_o cause_n the_o wood_n pasture_n and_o field_n produce_v of_o their_o own_o accord_n some_o kind_n of_o herb_n and_o fruit_n like_v unto_o those_o and_o of_o the_o same_o name_n or_o denomination_n with_o those_o which_o grow_v in_o our_o garden_n by_o sow_v set_v and_o plant_v yet_o be_v they_o but_o of_o a_o wild_a kind_n and_o nature_n neither_o so_o fair_a nor_o fit_a for_o use_v as_o these_o every_o palate_n will_v be_v able_a to_o distinguish_v between_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o as_o it_o be_v between_o those_o two_o sort_n of_o of_o eunuch_n which_o our_o saviour_n distingush_v in_o the_o gospel_n thus_o that_o some_o be_v such_o from_o their_o mother_n womb_n other_o have_v make_v themselves_o such_o eunuch_n for_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n mat._n 19.12_o mean_v that_o they_o have_v be_v persuade_v and_o prevail_v with_o by_o the_o not_o like_a unto_o those_o of_o the_o same_o name_n or_o denomination_n that_o be_v beget_v and_o plant_v in_o the_o heart_n and_o inward_a part_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n by_o the_o gospel_n and_o ministry_n of_o it_o the_o gospel_n be_v term_v the_o incorruptible_a seed_n of_o the_o word_n which_o live_v for_o evermore_o there_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o excellency_n and_o glory_n which_o go_v along_o with_o the_o word_n of_o god_n which_o leave_v a_o lively_a impression_n or_o character_n of_o itself_o upon_o those_o holy_a disposition_n and_o qualification_n which_o be_v plant_v or_o beget_v by_o it_o in_o the_o heart_n and_o soul_n of_o man_n which_o do_v distinguish_v they_o from_o those_o moral_a qualification_n plant_v in_o man_n and_o woman_n by_o the_o hand_n of_o nature_n but_o this_o only_a by_o the_o way_n the_o sum_n of_o what_o we_o lay_v down_o in_o the_o character_n or_o rule_n of_o dijudication_n now_o in_o hand_n whereby_o to_o judge_v of_o man_n and_o woman_n that_o be_v fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v this_o he_o that_o be_v as_o a_o wean_a child_n in_o his_o own_o matter_n but_o be_v strong_a and_o active_a as_o a_o giant_n in_o the_o affair_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o of_o the_o gospel_n he_o i_o say_v be_v like_a to_o be_v a_o person_n so_o fill_v with_o the_o holy_a ghost_n but_o if_o a_o man_n be_v forward_o and_o full_a of_o and_o the_o same_o also_o of_o the_o same_o hot_a temper_n in_o his_o own_o private_a concernment_n his_o heat_n in_o matter_n of_o religion_n may_v be_v but_o of_o the_o same_o account_n with_o other_o man_n coldness_n i_o mean_v may_v be_v nothing_o else_o but_o his_o natural_a temper_n and_o so_o argue_v no_o fullness_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n i_o confess_v it_o be_v possible_a that_o he_o that_o be_v somewhat_o warm_a and_o somewhat_o apt_a to_o be_v stir_v in_o his_o spirit_n about_o his_o worldly_a affair_n and_o withal_o be_v zealous_o affect_v with_o and_o about_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n may_v be_v fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n but_o however_o the_o judgement_n of_o this_o latter_a heat_n be_v take_v away_o by_o the_o former_a though_o such_o a_o man_n zeal_n in_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n may_v proceed_v from_o a_o fullness_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o he_o yet_o his_o heat_n otherwise_o drown_v the_o argument_n of_o it_o this_o heat_n we_o fullness_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o which_o case_n a_o man_n zeal_n for_o god_n must_v needs_o proceed_v from_o such_o a_o fullness_n be_v because_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n even_o when_o with_o zeal_n and_o diligence_n but_o have_v be_v remiss_a and_o cold_a in_o the_o thing_n of_o jesus_n christ_n shall_v be_v reduce_v to_o great_a zeal_n for_o the_o thing_n of_o jesus_n christ_n their_o face_n that_o certain_o they_o be_v not_o fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n there_o be_v indeed_o another_o kind_n of_o zeal_n which_o you_o may_v conceive_v better_o of_o and_o this_o argument_n of_o no_o weight_n no_o way_n convince_a that_o they_o be_v fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n a_o second_o rule_n for_o discovery_n of_o those_o who_o be_v fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n from_o those_o who_o be_v not_o fill_v with_o he_o but_o with_o a_o contrary_a spirit_n sect._n 7_o may_v be_v this_o when_o man_n and_o woman_n have_v the_o command_n of_o their_o spirit_n so_o as_o to_o keep_v they_o in_o and_o let_v they_o out_o to_o cause_v they_o to_o rise_v and_o to_o fall_v to_o go_v and_o to_o come_v according_a to_o the_o true_a exigency_n of_o the_o affair_n of_o that_o there_o be_v no_o great_a presence_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n with_o they_o and_o that_o that_o zeal_n and_o heat_n wherein_o some_o man_n upon_o all_o occasion_n and_o without_o any_o difference_n make_v between_o any_o circumstance_n appear_v be_v but_o either_o a_o kind_n of_o natural_a temper_n or_o which_o be_v worse_o some_o affect_a strain_n of_o hypocrisy_n it_o be_v a_o stout_a and_o resolute_a and_o again_o familiar_a gentle_a and_o submissive_a according_a as_o the_o person_n be_v with_o who_o and_o according_a to_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o occasion_n and_o affair_n wherein_o they_o have_v to_o do_v and_o this_o in_o order_n to_o the_o glorify_v of_o god_n and_o the_o justify_n of_o his_o wisdom_n it_o be_v a_o argument_n of_o much_o weight_n to_o prove_v that_o they_o have_v a_o rich_a anoint_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n we_o find_v paul_n a_o man_n very_o excellent_a and_o active_a in_o all_o the_o variety_n of_o these_o spiritual_a posture_n we_o speak_v of_o 1_o cor._n 9.19_o 20_o etc._n etc._n for_o though_o say_v he_o i_o be_v free_a from_o all_o man_n yet_o have_v i_o make_v myself_o a_o servant_n unto_o all_o to_o the_o that_o way_n and_o to_o tempt_v ourselves_o to_o a_o neglect_n of_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n yea_o and_o to_o dishearten_v and_o discourage_v man_n from_o so_o much_o as_o the_o knowledge_n of_o what_o be_v command_v they_o of_o god_n for_o if_o they_o shall_v know_v their_o master_n will_n and_o yet_o not_o do_v it_o and_o do_v it_o they_o can_v if_o the_o intention_n of_o god_n stand_v in_o opposition_n hereunto_o or_o if_o they_o want_v ability_n to_o do_v it_o i_o say_v to_o know_v the_o will_n of_o god_n and_o not_o to_o do_v it_o be_v to_o incur_v the_o danger_n of_o be_v beat_v slothfulness_n and_o his_o own_o carelessness_n in_o this_o kind_n be_v accessary_a unto_o and_o the_o occasion_n of_o it_o four_o and_o last_o for_o instruction_n if_o the_o doctrine_n be_v true_a sect._n 7_o take_v we_o notice_n from_o hence_o yet_o further_o that_o it_o be_v the_o will_n and_o desire_n of_o god_n we_o shall_v be_v excellent_a that_o we_o shall_v be_v a_o royal_a priesthood_n and_o mean_n to_o be_v thus_o fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n if_o the_o spirit_n which_o shall_v fill_v they_o in_o this_o kind_n be_v a_o create_v a_o finite_a spirit_n limit_v and_o confine_v to_o
