temptation_n lie_v hide_v and_o obscure_v there_o be_v therefore_o in_o the_o saint_n adhaerentiae_fw-la certitudo_fw-la evidentiae_fw-la &_o adhaerentiae_fw-la the_o assurance_n of_o evidence_n and_o the_o assurance_n of_o adherence_n the_o assurance_n of_o evidence_n be_v that_o which_o be_v without_o scruple_n and_o bring_v a_o admirable_a joy_n with_o it_o and_o this_o more_o especial_o appear_v either_o in_o our_o more_o fervent_a prayer_n or_o in_o our_o heavenly_a meditation_n or_o in_o time_n of_o martyrdom_n or_o in_o some_o quicken_a exercise_n of_o extraordinary_a humiliation_n or_o in_o beginning_n of_o our_o spiritual_a or_o end_n of_o our_o natural_a life_n as_o most_o needful_a time_n then_o do_v god_n spirit_n speak_v comfortable_o to_o we_o whisper_v to_o our_o soul_n the_o assurance_n of_o our_o happiness_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v inheritor_n of_o his_o kingdom_n the_o assurance_n of_o adherence_n be_v that_o which_o i_o doubt_v not_o the_o saint_n have_v in_o their_o great_a extremity_n for_o instance_n many_o a_o faithful_a soul_n that_o make_v conscience_n of_o sin_n lie_v and_o languish_v upon_o the_o rack_n of_o fear_n and_o terror_n he_o therefore_o down_o it_o fall_v at_o death_n flood_n and_o be_v overwhelm_v in_o destruction_n three_o god_n spirit_n be_v ever_o attend_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n and_o therefore_o say_v but_o on_o the_o other_o side_n every_o delude_a pharisee_n be_v a_o mere_a stranger_n to_o the_o power_n of_o prayer_n if_o he_o pray_v often_o as_o i_o make_v it_o a_o question_n yet_o never_o pray_v he_o from_o a_o break_a heart_n and_o this_o argue_v that_o all_o his_o confidence_n be_v no_o better_a than_o a_o weed_n which_o grow_v of_o its_o own_o accord_n &_o therefore_o like_o jonahs_n gourd_n when_o affliction_n come_v it_o wither_v on_o a_o sudden_a four_o the_o testimony_n of_o god_n spirit_n be_v often_o exercise_v and_o accompany_v with_o fear_n and_o jealousy_n and_o doubt_n and_o distrust_n and_o variety_n of_o temptation_n which_o many_o time_n will_v drive_v the_o soul_n thus_o distress_v to_o cry_v mighty_o to_o god_n to_o re-examine_a her_o ground_n to_o
