and_o that_o he_o will_v present_o have_v fall_v into_o this_o guilt_n have_v he_o answer_v without_o tergiversation_n these_o question_n viz._n whether_o god_n do_v any_o more_o in_o order_n to_o the_o work_n in_o such_o a_o man_n this_o malleableness_n of_o heart_n and_o willingness_n to_o obey_v than_o by_o give_v he_o that_o ability_n to_o be_v wrought_v on_o by_o the_o gospel_n into_o this_o good_a temper_n which_o ability_n he_o also_o give_v equal_o to_o other_o that_o be_v not_o so_o wrought_v on_o and_o whether_o freewill_n then_o here_o do_v not_o so_o cause_v the_o difference_n as_o to_o be_v prejudicial_a to_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n and_o why_o it_o will_v be_v more_o prejudicial_a to_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n to_o ascribe_v man_n conversion_n to_o freewill_n and_o the_o goodness_n of_o a_o man_n temper_n than_o to_o ascribe_v man_n be_v make_v to_o use_v his_o own_o word_n malleable_a and_o willing_a to_o obey_v god_n to_o man_n freewill_n and_o the_o goodness_n of_o a_o man_n temper_n or_o if_o he_o will_v ascribe_v this_o malleableness_n and_o willingness_n to_o obey_v to_o another_o malleableness_n and_o willingness_n to_o obey_v and_o that_o to_o another_o malleableness_n and_o willingness_n to_o obey_v and_o so_o forward_o why_o he_o may_v not_o as_o well_o candid_o ascribe_v the_o first_o name_v malleableness_n to_o freewill_n as_o the_o last_o for_o since_o to_o ascribe_v any_o such_o effect_n to_o a_o special_a favour_n and_o work_n of_o god_n be_v the_o great_a thing_n oppose_v the_o make_v the_o difference_n must_v be_v ascribe_v to_o freewill_n at_o last_o or_o to_o chance_n or_o to_o nothing_o yet_o the_o doctor_n say_v that_o it_o be_v a_o pose_a question_n to_o he_o to_o answer_v what_o exception_n can_v possible_o be_v state_v against_o this_o his_o scheme_n and_o that_o he_o ascribe_v nothing_o to_o man_n himself_o but_o all_o the_o good_a a_o man_n do_v to_o supernatural_a grace_n yea_o he_o will_v seem_v pag._n 52_o 53_o 56._o with_o high_a word_n though_o of_o low_a import_n to_o out-go_v his_o lordship_n in_o extol_v grace_n charge_v he_o as_o over_o cautious_a in_o say_v that_o in_o the_o conversion_n of_o a_o sinner_n though_o freewill_n cooperate_v yet_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n have_v the_o main_a stroke_n and_o chief_a operation_n and_o will_v have_v it_o rather_o say_v and_o say_v all_o the_o remonstant_n herein_o concur_v with_o he_o that_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o lapse_v man_n be_v the_o one_o sole_a principle_n of_o conversion_n regeneration_n repentance_n and_o every_o other_o evangelical_n virtue_n and_o all_o that_o can_v just_o be_v attribute_v to_o our_o will_n in_o any_o of_o these_o be_v the_o obey_v the_o motion_n and_o make_v use_n of_o the_o power_n which_o be_v bestow_v upon_o we_o by_o that_o supernatural_a principle_n for_o say_v he_o god_n spirit_n give_v we_o the_o power_n which_o all_o the_o good_a we_o do_v be_v imputable_a to_o and_o when_o we_o read_v of_o god_n work_v in_o we_o to_o will_v and_o to_o do_v the_o meaning_n be_v he_o give_v we_o power_n to_o will_v and_o do_v but_o if_o this_o be_v the_o opinion_n of_o the_o doctor_n and_o all_o the_o remonstrant_n as_o he_o say_v here_o at_o least_o implicit_o it_o be_v viz._n that_o obey_v the_o motion_n and_o make_v use_n of_o the_o power_n which_o god_n bestow_v upon_o man_n may_v just_o be_v attribute_v to_o the_o will_n so_o as_o not_o to_o any_o special_a operation_n of_o the_o spirit_n he_o only_o give_v we_o the_o power_n and_o whole_o leave_v it_o to_o man_n to_o make_v use_n of_o it_o without_o do_v any_o more_o by_o his_o spirit_n to_o cause_v we_o to_o make_v use_n of_o it_o i_o shall_v say_v sit_fw-la anima_fw-la mea_fw-la cum_fw-la contra-remonstrantibus_a in_o this_o particular_a though_o still_o i_o grant_v that_o in_o a_o sense_n though_o in_o a_o very_a remote_a sense_n he_o that_o give_v the_o talent_n or_o power_n may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o the_o improvement_n of_o it_o though_o yet_o in_o no_o other_o sense_n than_o by_o give_v the_o talent_n or_o power_n but_o why_o then_o do_v any_o pray_v god_n to_o cause_v they_o by_o his_o spirit_n to_o improve_v their_o talent_n and_o make_v use_n of_o their_o power_n if_o he_o do_v no_o more_o than_o mere_o give_v the_o talent_n or_o power_n which_o he_o do_v to_o all_o but_o if_o this_o be_v the_o import_n of_o all_o these_o great_a word_n as_o apparent_o it_o be_v concern_v grace_n and_o supernatural-grace_n give_v to_o all_o that_o enjoy_v the_o gospel_n viz._n that_o supernatural-grace_n give_v they_o the_o very_a power_n of_o freewill_n or_o that_o power_n call_v it_o what_o you_o will_v without_o which_o man_n can_v not_o be_v inexcusable_a in_o not_o obey_v the_o gospel_n and_o god_n go_v no_o further_o by_o his_o spirit_n with_o any_o in_o order_n to_o their_o conversion_n and_o this_o power_n do_v all_o in_o conversion_n and_o in_o cause_v the_o difference_n therefore_o supernatural-grace_n do_v all_o good_a and_o nothing_o be_v imputable_a to_o the_o man_n in_o the_o whole_a work_n i_o say_v if_o this_o be_v the_o meaning_n it_o be_v a_o empty_a sound_n and_o exalt_v god_n special_a grace_n and_o kindness_n no_o more_o in_o and_o oblidge_n a_o man_n no_o more_o to_o special_a thankfulness_n for_o the_o work_n of_o this_o conversion_n than_o if_o it_o be_v say_v god_n by_o his_o supernatural-grace_n make_v we_o man_n endue_v we_o with_o understanding_n and_o will_n and_o man_n do_v all_o in_o improve_n the_o gospel_n to_o his_o own_o conversion_n therefore_o god_n do_v all_o or_o god_n by_o his_o common_a providence_n cause_v man_n to_o have_v freewill_n and_o freewill_n do_v all_o therefore_o god_n do_v all_o neither_o do_v it_o denote_v any_o more_o any_o more_o or_o less_o of_o kindness_n in_o god_n or_o engage_v man_n any_o more_o or_o less_o to_o thankfulness_n to_o say_v god_n by_o his_o the_o gospel_n that_o be_v say_v to_o be_v give_v either_o way_n neither_o will_v it_o any_o more_o or_o less_o hinder_v a_o man_n boast_v that_o although_o he_o receive_v the_o power_n from_o god_n
