can_v have_v no_o certainty_n neither_o of_o the_o decree_n of_o counsel_n which_o these_o pope_n confirm_v nor_o of_o the_o church_n infallibility_n which_o be_v guide_v by_o these_o decree_n but_o many_o of_o the_o roman_a see_v even_o by_o the_o confession_n of_o the_o most_o zealous_a defender_n of_o it_o be_v such_o man_n therefore_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n be_v not_o here_o promise_v but_o deny_v they_o and_o consequent_o we_o can_v have_v no_o certainty_n neither_o of_o the_o decree_n which_o they_o confirm_v nor_o of_o the_o church_n infallibility_n which_o guide_v herself_o of_o truth_n may_v have_v reference_n not_o to_o the_o church_n but_o to_o timothy_n the_o sense_n of_o the_o place_n that_o thou_o may_v know_v how_o to_o behave_v thyself_o as_o a_o pillar_n and_o ground_n of_o the_o truth_n in_o the_o church_n of_o god_n which_o be_v house_n of_o the_o live_a god_n which_o exposition_n offer_v no_o violence_n at_o all_o to_o the_o word_n but_o only_o suppose_v a_o ellipsis_n of_o the_o particle_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d in_o the_o greek_a very_o ordinary_a neither_o want_v it_o some_o likelihood_n that_o s._n paul_n compare_v the_o church_n to_o a_o house_n shall_v here_o exhort_v timothy_n to_o carry_v himself_o as_o a_o pillar_n in_o that_o house_n shall_v do_v according_a as_o he_o have_v give_v other_o principal_a man_n in_o the_o church_n the_o name_n of_o pillar_n rather_o then_o have_v call_v the_o church_n a_o house_n to_o call_v it_o present_o a_o pillar_n which_o may_v seem_v somewhat_o heterogeneous_a yet_o if_o you_o will_v needs_o have_v s._n paul_n refer_v this_o not_o to_o timothy_n but_o to_o the_o church_n i_o will_v not_o contend_v about_o it_o any_o far_a then_o to_o say_v possible_o it_o may_v be_v otherwise_o but_o than_o second_o i_o be_o to_o put_v you_o in_o mind_n that_o the_o church_n which_o s._n paul_n here_o speak_v of_o be_v that_o in_o which_o timothy_n converse_v and_o that_o be_v a_o particular_a church_n and_o not_o the_o roman_a and_o such_o you_o will_v not_o have_v to_o be_v universal_o infallible_a 77._o three_o if_o we_o grant_v you_o out_o of_o courtesy_n for_o nothing_o conclusion_n of_o st._n paul_n we_o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n come_v all_o to_o one_o pass_v for_o in_o effect_v it_o be_v all_o one_o to_o say_v we_o be_v justify_v by_o our_o obedience_n or_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n and_o to_o say_v we_o be_v justify_v by_o the_o gospel_n which_o prescribe_v that_o obedience_n as_o on_o the_o contrary_a to_o say_v we_o be_v justify_v by_o the_o law_n or_o by_o work_n prescribe_v by_o the_o law_n be_v all_o one_o there_o be_v a_o four_o acception_n of_o faith_n take_v for_o the_o single_a habit_n or_o grace_n of_o faith_n and_o apply_v to_o this_o proposition_n only_o of_o all_o christian_n that_o i_o have_v hear_v of_o by_o the_o belgic_a remonstrant_n which_o be_v a_o new_a invent_a fancy_n and_o therefore_o unwarrantable_a yet_o i_o shall_v any_o man_n shall_v be_v save_v without_o it_o the_o press_v of_o this_o doctrine_n take_v up_o by_o much_o the_o great_a part_n of_o the_o evangelical_n write_n now_o that_o these_o duty_n be_v not_o enforce_v upon_o we_o as_o condition_n of_o the_o old_a covenant_n of_o work_n be_v evident_a because_o by_o christ_n we_o be_v free_v from_o the_o obligation_n of_o the_o old_a covenant_n god_n forbid_v that_o we_o shall_v have_v a_o thought_n of_o expect_v the_o hope_n of_o righteousness_n upon_o those_o term_n for_o that_o covenant_n will_v not_o admit_v of_o any_o imperfection_n in_o our_o work_n and_o then_o in_o what_o a_o miserable_a case_n be_v we_o there_o be_v no_o hope_n for_o we_o unless_o some_o course_n be_v take_v that_o not_o only_o our_o imperfection_n but_o our_o sin_n and_o those_o of_o a_o high_a nature_n be_v pass_v by_o and_o overlook_v by_o almighty_a god_n as_o if_o he_o have_v lose_v his_o eye_n to_o see_v they_o or_o his_o memory_n to_o remember_v they_o 32._o the_o substance_n then_o of_o the_o moral_a law_n be_v enjoin_v we_o by_o the_o new-covenant_n but_o with_o what_o difference_n i_o shall_v show_v you_o present_o and_o hereupon_o it_o be_v that_o our_o saviour_n say_v to_o the_o pharisee_n who_o be_v willing_a to_o make_v any_o misconstruction_n of_o his_o doctrine_n think_v you_o that_o i_o be_o come_v to_o destroy_v the_o law_n be_o come_v to_o destroy_v the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n to_o disoblige_v man_n from_o
