be_v the_o fruit_n and_o effect_n that_o attend_v itself_o for_o how_o can_v any_o know_v that_o faith_n have_v such_o fruit_n and_o effect_n but_o by_o the_o word_n and_o how_o can_v we_o know_v the_o word_n be_v truth_n but_o by_o faith_n only_o thus_o he_o wherein_o there_o be_v need_n of_o a_o other_o explanation_n to_o expound_v this_o such_o be_v the_o maze_n of_o this_o man_n mystery_n for_o first_o the_o question_n be_v concern_v justify_n faith_n whether_o it_o have_v any_o fruit_n or_o effect_n to_o be_v know_v by_o the_o answer_n be_v give_v out_o of_o a_o historical_a faith_n in_o believe_v the_o truth_n of_o the_o scripture_n the_o former_a concern_v particular_a assurance_n of_o faith_n and_o grace_n the_o late_a only_o the_o general_a testimony_n of_o the_o word_n concern_v such_o thing_n wherein_o there_o be_v great_a difference_n for_o many_o be_v persuade_v of_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o scripture_n that_o have_v no_o assurance_n at_o all_o of_o their_o own_o salvation_n yea_o the_o very_a devil_n believe_v and_o tremble_v jam._n 2.19_o the_o one_o be_v not_o by_o grace_n but_o by_o the_o evidence_n of_o truth_n which_o they_o can_v withstand_v the_o other_o be_v by_o a_o special_a work_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n but_o here_o in_o this_o reason_n of_o he_o be_v lay_v a_o false_a supposition_n for_o a_o ground_n viz._n that_o as_o by_o a_o bare_a persuasion_n we_o believe_v the_o content_n of_o the_o scripture_n to_o be_v true_a so_o by_o a_o bare_a persuasion_n we_o be_v assure_v of_o the_o trueness_n of_o our_o faith_n and_o our_o own_o scripture_n beside_o a_o bare_a persuasion_n or_o conceit_n so_o likewise_o be_v there_o many_o evidence_n and_o sign_n of_o faith_n in_o true_a believer_n whereby_o it_o may_v be_v know_v and_o not_o by_o a_o bare_a persuasion_n only_o for_o albeit_o we_o grant_v a_o certain_a reflect_v act_n of_o save_a faith_n in_o the_o true_a believer_n whereby_o he_o be_v oftentimes_o full_o persuade_v of_o his_o stand_n in_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n yet_o withal_o we_o affirm_v that_o this_o persuasion_n be_v not_o etc._n not_o see_v righteous_a man_n assurance_n by_o mr._n roger_n full_o of_o this_o
