forasmuch_o as_o the_o disease_n be_v hide_v the_o medicine_n be_v not_o so_o much_o as_o seek_v after_o and_o true_o in_o this_o case_n i_o can_v see_v what_o other_o way_n any_o good_a be_v to_o that_o be_v account_v wise_a do_v err_v and_o inasmuch_o as_o one_o man_n err_v in_o one_o thing_n another_o in_o another_o and_o therefore_o those_o thing_n in_o which_o every_o man_n err_v must_v needs_o be_v many_o and_o because_o none_o so_o excel_v in_o wisdom_n but_o he_o may_v be_v subject_a to_o humane_a frailty_n when_o he_o lest_o suspect_v himself_o reason_n thus_o with_o thyself_o proper_a to_o man_n must_v of_o necessity_n be_v in_o i_o too_o though_o i_o observe_v it_o not_o that_o so_o thou_o may_v labour_v to_o weaken_v the_o force_n of_o thy_o arrogance_n but_o there_o be_v in_o man_n a_o kind_n of_o i_o know_v not_o what_o spirit_n a_o egregious_a flatterer_n and_o very_o crafty_a which_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o such_o meditation_n as_o these_o mutter_v i_o know_v not_o what_o in_o his_o heart_n which_o he_o do_v in_o such_o a_o manner_n as_o that_o his_o speech_n be_v more_o move_a affect_a and_o intoxicate_v then_o discernible_a yet_o if_o thou_o can_v reach_v his_o meaning_n thou_o shall_v find_v he_o speak_v to_o this_o effect_n true_a indeed_o it_o be_v there_o be_v no_o man_n but_o be_v deceive_v in_o attribute_v too_o much_o unto_o himself_o howbeit_o this_o arrogance_n be_v far_o from_o thou_o thy_o case_n be_v far_o different_a who_o be_v lead_v by_o a_o special_a instinct_n which_o will_v not_o suffer_v thou_o to_o mistake_v in_o judge_v and_o so_o great_a be_v the_o force_n of_o this_o enchantment_n that_o though_o thou_o shall_v strive_v long_o and_o earnest_o with_o thyself_o yet_o shall_v thou_o hardly_o be_v able_a to_o lay_v down_o any_o little_a portion_n of_o this_o vain_a persuasion_n but_o of_o this_o thou_o ought_v to_o be_v certain_o persuade_v that_o by_o how_o much_o the_o less_o thou_o suspect_v thy_o selt_z of_o arrogance_n by_o so_o much_o the_o more_o arrogant_a thou_o be_v for_o whilst_o thou_o think_v well_o of_o thyself_o the_o wise_a king_n solomon_n reckon_v thou_o among_o the_o number_n of_o fool_n a_o fool_n say_v he_o be_v please_v with_o his_o own_o reason_n but_o a_o wise_a man_n seek_v council_n so_o that_o the_o top_n of_o humane_a wisdom_n seem_v to_o be_v for_o a_o man_n to_o suspect_v his_o own_o wisdom_n and_o to_o know_v that_o he_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o the_o counsel_n of_o another_o which_o text_n very_o ought_v continual_o to_o be_v oppose_v against_o that_o most_o wicked_a spirit_n that_o he_o may_v not_o estrange_v thy_o mind_n from_o modesty_n and_o that_o thou_o may_v the_o better_o understand_v that_o modesty_n be_v altogether_o necessary_a in_o dispute_n i_o will_v add_v one_o thing_n which_o at_o the_o first_o view_n may_v seem_v very_o absurd_a though_o nothing_o in_o the_o world_n be_v more_o certain_o true_a whosoever_o thou_o be_v thou_o can_v not_o maintain_v a_o controversy_n with_o any_o man_n about_o any_o point_n but_o that_o look_v by_o how_o much_o thou_o think_v thyself_o wise_a than_o he_o by_o so_o much_o on_o the_o other_o side_n will_v he_o think_v himself_o to_o be_v wise_a than_o thou_o the_o reason_n be_v at_o hand_n for_o if_o thou_o consider_v the_o point_n in_o controversy_n do_v but_o he_o think_v that_o thou_o can_v judge_v better_o than_o himself_o he_o will_v assent_v unto_o thou_o and_o there_o will_v remain_v no_o difference_n but_o inasmuch_o as_o he_o dissent_v from_o thou_o he_o must_v needs_o conceive_v himself_o to_o judge_n

concern_v he_o who_o be_v call_v to_o the_o office_n of_o a_o teacher_n whether_o he_o ought_v whole_o to_o obey_v a_o council_n so_o as_o to_o teach_v nothing_o different_a from_o the_o counsel_n contemptible_a of_o the_o company_n god_n will_v dispel_v great_a mist_n of_o error_n but_o so_o long_o as_o most_o account_n shall_v be_v make_v of_o number_n and_o the_o glister_n of_o outward_a dignity_n so_o long_o as_o the_o consent_n of_o the_o major_a part_n shall_v stand_v for_o a_o law_n nothing_o be_v more_o sure_a then_o that_o satan_n shall_v ordinary_o get_v the_o victory_n and_o
