our_o whole_a spiritual_a life_n be_v through_o the_o assistance_n of_o god_n act_v by_o the_o grace_n of_o faith_n and_o i_o intend_v the_o lord_n willing_a to_o handle_v it_o in_o this_o method_n we_o be_v christian_n so_o far_o every_o man_n in_o the_o world_n be_v he_o strong_a or_o be_v he_o weak_a he_o live_v according_a to_o these_o thing_n i_o fear_v not_o to_o speak_v it_o positive_o live_v it_o and_o as_o there_o be_v in_o logic_n a_o art_n of_o logic_n which_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o reason_n digest_v into_o the_o right_a method_n to_o show_v you_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n and_o subject_n and_o adjunct_n etc._n etc._n that_o we_o call_v the_o art_n of_o logic_n do_v but_o cast_v all_o these_o thing_n into_o their_o 〈◊〉_d place_n but_o many_o thousand_o do_v argue_v and_o speak_v from_o cause_n and_o effect_n and_o subject_n and_o adjunct_n and_o comparison_n and_o thing_n that_o be_v opposite_a use_v argument_n from_o they_o who_o know_v not_o that_o they_o play_v the_o logician_n in_o all_o these_o so_o in_o the_o great_a act_n of_o faith_n there_o be_v no_o man_n it_o be_v certain_a partake_v of_o christ_n but_o believe_v in_o he_o but_o doubtless_o there_o be_v many_o thousand_o that_o believe_v in_o christ_n that_o know_v not_o what_o that_o act_n of_o faith_n be_v that_o give_v they_o a_o interest_n in_o christ_n but_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n carry_v they_o on_o to_o it_o so_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n though_o they_o can_v speak_v of_o these_o rule_n i_o have_v show_v you_o till_o they_o be_v open_v to_o they_o and_o then_o they_o can_v close_v with_o they_o so_o that_o i_o be_o far_o from_o say_v that_o no_o man_n live_v the_o life_n of_o faith_n but_o he_o that_o understand_v that_o he_o act_v all_o these_o thing_n but_o he_o may_v understand_v they_o real_o well_o this_o lay_v as_o the_o foundation_n you_o will_v pardon_v i_o though_o i_o take_v a_o little_a time_n to_o give_v you_o a_o taste_n of_o the_o application_n before_o i_o dismiss_v you_o but_o thus_o i_o have_v endeavour_v to_o clear_v this_o doctrine_n that_o all_o the_o lord_n people_n while_o they_o be_v in_o this_o world_n while_o they_o do_v partake_v of_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n one_o part_n of_o it_o for_o their_o justification_n the_o other_o for_o sanctification_n the_o act_n of_o this_o while_o they_o be_v in_o this_o world_n it_o be_v the_o life_n of_o faith_n now_o the_o use_n of_o it_o be_v very_o large_a and_o sweet_a i_o will_v give_v you_o but_o a_o taste_n of_o two_o thing_n before_o i_o dismiss_v you_o the_o one_o be_v for_o instruction_n 1_o hence_o therefore_o you_o may_v safe_o and_o sad_o conclude_v that_o among_o the_o great_a multitude_n of_o those_o that_o challenge_v the_o name_n of_o christian_n there_o their_o life_n that_o that_o take_v they_o up_o from_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o morning_n till_o the_o evening_n come_v when_o they_o be_v awake_v the_o world_n be_v in_o their_o heart_n and_o they_o that_o live_v to_o their_o own_o will_n as_o look_v whatsoever_o their_o own_o fancy_n and_o will_n suggest_v to_o they_o to_o be_v advantageous_a this_o be_v that_o that_o satisfy_v they_o and_o serve_v their_o turn_n to_o attain_v such_o a_o corrupt_a end_n or_o such_o a_o way_n as_o they_o be_v in_o oh_o friend_n there_o be_v a_o small_a number_n that_o live_v the_o life_n of_o christ_n the_o lord_n help_v you_o that_o you_o may_v not_o be_v deceive_v about_o this_o i_o can_v but_o name_v this_o and_o then_o second_o the_o other_o thing_n i_o will_v name_n be_v this_o and_o pray_v carry_v this_o home_n 2._o those_o that_o be_v christian_n it_o have_v plain_o appear_v that_o of_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n god_n people_n have_v most_o cause_n to_o lament_v and_o bewail_v their_o unbelief_n you_o hear_v that_o faith_n be_v your_o life_n and_o livelihood_n therefore_o there_o be_v nothing_o to_o be_v so_o much_o lament_v by_o real_a christian_n concern_v themselves_o as_o their_o unbelief_n i_o speak_v not_o but_o there_o shall_v be_v something_o more_o lament_v than_o our_o own_o
thing_n be_v know_v it_o be_v know_v that_o such_o a_o thing_n be_v contrary_a to_o god_n and_o i_o ought_v not_o to_o do_v it_o but_o yet_o by_o a_o sudden_a hurry_n of_o temptation_n when_o the_o violence_n of_o temptation_n surprise_v the_o soul_n many_o time_n before_o ever_o it_o can_v recollect_v itself_o it_o be_v carry_v down_o with_o the_o temptation_n even_o against_o a_o clear_a light_n yea_o carry_v against_o it_o as_o if_o a_o cockboat_n shall_v be_v carry_v down_o a_o strong_a stream_n &_o they_o have_v not_o so_o much_o time_n to_o call_v themselves_o to_o a_o account_n to_o think_v whether_o these_o thing_n become_v they_o or_o no_o and_o thus_o it_o be_v with_o aaron_n that_o saint_n of_o the_o lord_n he_o can_v not_o but_o know_v that_o to_o make_v a_o calf_n it_o be_v destructive_a to_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n that_o god_n have_v make_v with_o they_o it_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o implicit_a renounce_n of_o god_n but_o a_o sudden_a temptation_n come_v all_o the_o people_n come_v say_v make_v we_o a_o resemblance_n of_o god_n moses_n be_v go_v we_o will_v have_v it_o he_o be_v surprise_v before_o ever_o he_o can_v recollect_v himself_o and_o so_o moses_n that_o holy_a meek_a man_n when_o a_o sudden_a temptation_n come_v that_o the_o madness_n of_o the_o people_n have_v vex_v he_o that_o he_o can_v not_o recollect_v himself_o he_o speak_v so_o unadvised_o with_o his_o lip_n to_o god_n dishonour_n and_o this_o no_o man_n be_v free_a from_o but_o some_o in_o one_o part_n some_o in_o one_o kind_n and_o some_o in_o another_o all_o god_n people_n before_o they_o be_v aware_a be_v many_o time_n carry_v away_o and_o surprise_v before_o they_o can_v recollect_v themselves_o to_o know_v what_o their_o duty_n be_v but_o yet_o there_o be_v a_o three_o sort_n and_o that_o seem_v to_o go_v deep_o and_o that_o be_v 3._o when_o they_o do_v not_o only_o know_v it_o to_o be_v a_o sin_n but_o deliberate_o commit_v it_o i_o mean_v that_o the_o heart_n be_v tempt_v to_o such_o a_o thing_n say_v the_o soul_n it_o be_v abominable_a it_o be_v against_o god_n i_o will_v not_o do_v it_o but_o betake_v itself_o to_o prayer_n pray_v the_o lord_n to_o assist_v and_o strengthen_v he_o the_o temptation_n come_v again_o and_o gather_v upon_o he_o that_o though_o he_o do_v resist_v it_o yet_o he_o have_v not_o strength_n enough_o to_o overcome_v it_o &_o the_o ground_n of_o it_o be_v because_o the_o holy_a spirit_n who_o be_v a_o free_a agent_n communicate_v so_o much_o strength_n to_o he_o as_o to_o stir_v up_o his_o grace_n and_o to_o draw_v they_o out_o into_o the_o field_n in_o god_n cause_n and_o to_o oppose_v the_o enemy_n and_o give_v he_o some_o strength_n to_o resist_v it_o but_o not_o strength_n enough_o to_o overcome_v it_o but_o leave_v he_o unfit_a and_o without_o sufficient_a strength_n against_o that_o temptation_n and_o of_o this_o i_o think_v the_o apostle_n paul_n main_o mean_v in_o all_o his_o discourse_n in_o rom._n 7._o where_o in_o the_o person_n of_o a_o regenerate_v man_n he_o say_v the_o thing_n i_o will_v not_o do_v i_o do_v and_o when_o i_o will_v do_v good_a evil_a overcome_v i_o i_o will_v not_o do_v the_o evil_a yet_o it_o be_v too_o strong_a for_o i_o &_o then_o complain_v wretched_a man_n that_o i_o be_o i_o be_o even_o sell_v under_o it_o now_o i_o think_v under_o one_o of_o these_o three_o fall_v all_o the_o common_a infirmity_n of_o all_o that_o love_n jesus_n christ_n in_o sincerity_n they_o be_v either_o mere_a ignorances_n that_o they_o know_v not_o god_n mind_n or_o they_o be_v else_o sudden_a surprise_v hurry_v away_o before_o they_o can_v call_v their_o heart_n and_o grace_n to_o act_v and_o have_v strength_n to_o assist_v they_o or_o else_o the_o lord_n let_v out_o a_o great_a measure_n of_o the_o power_n of_o the_o enemy_n to_o assault_v than_o he_o be_v please_v to_o communicate_v to_o the_o soul_n to_o resist_v and_o under_o one_o of_o these_o i_o say_v do_v all_o the_o infirmity_n of_o god_n people_n fall_v in_o their_o ordinary_a course_n now_o the_o three_o thing_n which_o when_o i_o have_v brief_o dispatch_v than_o i_o will_v go_v to_o the_o next_o which_o be_v the_o great_a question_n be_v three_o how_o this_o may_v be_v know_v and_o i_o will_v speak_v to_o it_o the_o rather_o because_o i_o find_v there_o be_v no_o man_n in_o the_o world_n that_o live_v within_o the_o compass_n of_o the_o church_n i_o mean_v but_o be_v wondrous_a desirous_a to_o have_v all_o his_o lust_n and_o corruption_n to_o be_v adopt_v into_o the_o name_n of_o a_o infirmity_n and_o when_o they_o have_v bring_v they_o under_o that_o burrow_n than_o they_o be_v wonderful_a safe_a in_o their_o own_o eye_n the_o man_n that_o keep_v a_o harlot_n and_o nourish_v his_o wanton_a vain_a glory_n or_o whatsoever_o it_o be_v convince_v he_o of_o it_o i_o say_v he_o god_n help_v i_o it_o be_v my_o infirmity_n no_o man_n live_v without_o his_o infirmity_n and_o when_o they_o have_v once_o get_v they_o under_o that_o name_n of_o a_o infirmity_n than_o all_o that_o you_o say_v concern_v jesus_n christ_n relief_n against_o their_o daily_a sin_n it_o be_v all_o their_o own_o though_o god_n know_v they_o be_v as_o far_o from_o it_o as_o the_o east_n be_v from_o the_o west_n and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n i_o find_v many_o a_o real_a servant_n of_o god_n that_o if_o their_o corruption_n have_v any_o thing_n in_o it_o that_o carry_v horridness_n to_o the_o conscience_n any_o strange_a distemper_n that_o be_v more_o than_o ordinary_a and_o assault_v they_o and_o buffet_n they_o and_o tread_v they_o under_o foot_n then_o they_o be_v ready_a to_o think_v that_o all_o the_o world_n can_v satisfy_v they_o that_o these_o be_v but_o infirmity_n these_o can_v be_v the_o spot_n of_o god_n people_n and_o so_o that_o neither_o the_o lord_n own_o servant_n may_v be_v discourage_v nor_o wicked_a man_n get_v a_o cloak_n i_o will_v a_o little_a discover_v how_o you_o may_v clear_o know_v what_o be_v the_o infirmity_n of_o the_o saint_n and_o wherein_o they_o differ_v from_o the_o rebellion_n of_o those_o that_o be_v the_o lord_n enemy_n and_o for_o that_o i_o will_v give_v you_o 1._o one_o rule_n that_o be_v negative_a and_o 2._o another_o that_o be_v positive_a 1._o negative_a you_o must_v take_v this_o that_o a_o infirmity_n must_v not_o be_v judge_v of_o by_o the_o matter_n of_o the_o sin_n not_o one_o whit_n judge_v of_o by_o the_o matter_n but_o only_o from_o the_o disposition_n and_o qualification_n of_o the_o person_n that_o commit_v it_o my_o meaning_n plain_o be_v this_o we_o be_v ready_a to_o think_v that_o those_o sin_n that_o be_v but_o petty_a and_o trivial_a they_o must_v all_o have_v the_o name_n of_o infirmity_n and_o those_o sin_n the_o matter_n whereof_o be_v odious_a those_o must_v not_o go_v for_o infirmity_n now_o this_o be_v a_o most_o false_a rule_n for_o a_o sin_n that_o be_v a_o very_a trifle_n if_o it_o be_v but_o a_o idle_a word_n vain_a thought_n petty_a oath_n any_o such_o thing_n as_o it_o may_v be_v commit_v may_v be_v a_o reign_a sin_n and_o a_o path_n of_o the_o way_n that_o lead_v to_o eternal_a damnation_n according_a as_o the_o person_n be_v that_o commit_v it_o and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n even_o a_o great_a sin_n for_o the_o matter_n of_o it_o shall_v it_o be_v murder_n and_o adultery_n i_o instance_n in_o they_o because_o they_o both_o meet_v in_o david_n possible_a it_o be_v that_o the_o thing_n may_v so_o fall_v out_o that_o these_o may_v be_v but_o infirmity_n therefore_o remember_v that_o be_v a_o corrupt_a rule_n and_o all_o you_o that_o please_v yourselves_o with_o this_o that_o god_n keep_v you_o from_o the_o great_a abomination_n you_o be_v no_o whoremaster_n you_o keep_v not_o a_o harlot_n and_o you_o be_v no_o cozener_n nor_o cheater_n in_o your_o trade_n though_o it_o may_v be_v your_o oath_n be_v faith_n and_o troth_n and_o prittle_v prattle_n and_o slight_v of_o holy_a duty_n you_o will_v have_v these_o thing_n pass_v for_o infirmity_n no_o you_o will_v see_v this_o be_v no_o rule_n that_o be_v one_o remember_v you_o must_v not_o judge_v of_o infirmity_n from_o the_o matter_n but_o only_o from_o another_o rule_n which_o i_o will_v give_v you_o and_o that_o be_v this_o 2._o whosoever_o can_v but_o right_o judge_v of_o a_o infirmity_n of_o the_o body_n have_v a_o clear_a rule_n to_o direct_v he_o to_o a_o infirmity_n of_o the_o soul_n now_o all_o infirmity_n of_o the_o body_n they_o have_v all_o of_o they_o these_o three_o thing_n constant_o go_v with_o they_o the_o first_o be_v 1._o they_o never_o be_v our_o choice_n that_o that_o be_v our_o infirmity_n never_o
the_o nature_n of_o a_o corruption_n that_o can_v contribute_v to_o it_o no_o all_o that_o be_v in_o a_o corruption_n be_v deadly_a and_o poysonful_a and_o dishonourable_a to_o god_n but_o as_o one_o of_o the_o father_n say_v of_o adam_n fall_n oh_o happy_a fall_n that_o do_v obtain_v such_o a_o redeemer_n so_o you_o will_v say_v happy_a be_v the_o people_n of_o god_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o their_o corruption_n when_o the_o lord_n jesus_n do_v they_o so_o much_o good_a by_o they_o now_o if_o you_o will_v know_v what_o be_v the_o good_a he_o do_v to_o they_o i_o acknowledge_v i_o want_v strength_n and_o time_n and_o you_o will_v want_v patience_n if_o i_o shall_v discourse_v of_o they_o at_o large_a i_o will_v name_v but_o four_o particular_n and_o the_o name_n of_o they_o will_v confirm_v you_o in_o the_o truth_n of_o they_o if_o you_o compare_v they_o with_o the_o experience_n of_o all_o god_n people_n the_o first_o be_v this_o 1._o by_o the_o corruption_n that_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n carry_v about_o they_o the_o lord_n keep_v they_o in_o a_o continual_a self-abhorrency_a which_o be_v the_o most_o excellent_a frame_n on_o this_o side_n heaven_n i_o know_v what_o i_o speak_v that_o there_o be_v no_o frame_n of_o spirit_n in_o this_o world_n so_o excellent_a as_o a_o self-abhorring_a spirit_n take_v but_o with_o the_o next_o branch_n that_o you_o shall_v hear_v of_o present_o now_o nothing_o lay_v all_o god_n people_n so_o low_a as_o their_o corruption_n i_o tell_v you_o if_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n have_v all_o the_o affliction_n in_o the_o world_n lie_v upon_o they_o be_v it_o not_o for_o their_o own_o corruption_n they_o will_v rather_o be_v proud_a of_o their_o affliction_n they_o be_v ready_a ofttimes_o to_o murmur_v against_o god_n as_o david_n and_o job_n be_v tempt_v to_o it_o i_o have_v walk_v with_o god_n in_o my_o integrity_n and_o simplicity_n and_o yet_o i_o must_v thus_o be_v make_v worse_a than_o other_o oh_o that_o will_v be_v grievous_a but_o now_o when_o the_o soul_n be_v sensible_a of_o its_o own_o corruption_n dead_a heart_n unprofitable_a spirit_n and_o the_o like_a then_o wretched_a man_n that_o i_o be_o who_o shall_v deliver_v i_o from_o it_o i_o say_v again_o nothing_o in_o the_o world_n keep_v god_n people_n so_o low_a as_o their_o corruption_n and_o that_o be_v a_o great_a gain_n augustin_n have_v a_o speech_n that_o god_n will_v rather_o allow_v lust_n to_o keep_v his_o grace_n humble_a than_o grace_n to_o make_v his_o heart_n proud_a oh_o nothing_o so_o abase_v as_o the_o relic_n of_o corruption_n which_o exceed_o advantage_n god_n child_n the_o second_o advantage_n be_v that_o as_o it_o make_v we_o very_o low_a in_o our_o own_o eye_n so_o 2·_n it_o wonderful_o magnify_v christ_n oh_o it_o make_v jesus_n christ_n most_o precious_a nothing_o make_v christ_n so_o precious_a to_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n as_o the_o corruption_n that_o they_o bear_v about_o they_o nay_o i_o will_v add_v more_o that_o have_v jesus_n christ_n forty_o year_n ago_o do_v the_o work_n satisfy_v for_o sin_n and_o make_v i_o stand_v in_o god_n favour_n and_o now_o i_o have_v no_o more_o need_n of_o he_o i_o shall_v quick_o forget_v he_o as_o suppose_v a_o man_n have_v forfeit_v his_o estate_n and_o his_o life_n forty_o year_n ago_o and_o some_o dear_a friend_n buy_v all_o and_o give_v he_o all_o and_o set_v he_o up_o again_o now_o forty_o year_n after_o he_o have_v trade_v and_o grow_v rich_a by_o his_o own_o wit_n and_o strength_n sure_o he_o can_v but_o remember_v how_o he_o be_v behold_v to_o that_o friend_n forty_o year_n ago_o i_o but_o he_o will_v never_o remember_v he_o so_o well_o as_o he_o will_v that_o friend_n that_o shall_v do_v that_o every_o day_n for_o he_o i_o live_v upon_o his_o table_n and_o alm_n every_o day_n and_o yet_o he_o love_v i_o never_o a_o whit_n the_o less_o so_o when_o a_o soul_n remember_v i_o be_v a_o dead_a man_n a_o enemy_n and_o christ_n bring_v i_o and_o not_o only_o so_o but_o every_o day_n i_o forfeit_v all_o and_o grieve_v god_n and_o shall_v bring_v ruin_n upon_o myself_o mark_v how_o paul_n conclude_v it_o in_o rom._n 7._o when_o he_o say_v oh_o wretched_a man_n who_o shall_v deliver_v i_o from_o the_o body_n of_o this_o death_n i_o thank_v god_n through_o jesus_n christ_n oh_o christ_n jesus_n his_o appear_v it_o be_v dear_a to_o paul_n now_o here_o be_v a_o wonderful_a gain_n beyond_o all_o the_o righteousness_n of_o this_o world_n if_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n have_v in_o their_o course_n as_o much_o righteousness_n as_o the_o glorify_a saint_n in_o heaven_n and_o the_o angel_n in_o heaven_n have_v it_o be_v not_o so_o glorious_a to_o god_n in_o this_o administration_n as_o a_o spirit_n that_o magnify_v christ_n and_o abase_v itself_o and_o this_o be_v wonderful_o advance_v by_o the_o relic_n of_o corruption_n that_o we_o bear_v about_o we_o three_o another_o great_a benefit_n be_v 3._o hereby_o do_v the_o lord_n temper_v his_o people_n to_o make_v they_o submit_v quiet_o to_o every_o bitter_a cup_n the_o lord_n give_v they_o to_o drink_v nothing_o make_v the_o soul_n so_o patient_a under_o affliction_n so_o quiet_a in_o the_o loss_n of_o all_o other_o thing_n nothing_o do_v it_o like_a to_o this_o oh_o have_v i_o my_o desert_n shall_v the_o lord_n mark_v my_o iniquity_n it_o will_v not_o be_v the_o loss_n of_o a_o child_n will_v serve_v my_o turn_n it_o will_v not_o be_v the_o clip_n off_o of_o a_o piece_n of_o my_o estate_n it_o be_v mercy_n i_o be_o not_o destroy_v nothing_o make_v the_o soul_n lie_v its_o hand_n quiet_o upon_o its_o mouth_n and_o quiet_o submit_v to_o every_o dispensation_n of_o god_n though_o never_o so_o bitter_a as_o the_o sense_n of_o corruption_n we_o daily_o bear_v about_o we_o and_o in_o the_o last_o place_n 4._o hereby_o do_v the_o lord_n wonderful_o make_v his_o people_n long_o to_o be_v dissolve_v and_o get_v to_o heaven_n where_o they_o may_v leave_v sin_v against_o he_o for_o whatsoever_o carnal_a people_n may_v think_v there_o be_v nothing_o so_o grievous_a to_o the_o people_n of_o god_n as_o sin_v against_o he_o and_o when_o they_o shall_v come_v to_o die_v when_o they_o shall_v put_v off_o mortality_n and_o leave_v off_o dishonour_v his_o name_n it_o be_v more_o welcome_a to_o they_o then_o to_o be_v rid_v of_o affliction_n and_o that_o make_v paul_n long_o to_o be_v in_o heaven_n because_o i_o know_v while_o i_o be_o in_o this_o body_n i_o shall_v never_o be_v with_o the_o lord_n as_o i_o shall_v be_v but_o i_o long_o till_o that_o day_n shall_v come_v now_o here_o be_v gain_v when_o that_o corruption_n those_o relic_n of_o it_o abase_v thou_o and_o magnify_v christ_n and_o fit_v thou_o for_o every_o dispensation_n and_o make_v thou_o long_o to_o be_v at_o home_n with_o the_o lord_n and_o i_o may_v add_v in_o the_o mean_a time_n make_v thou_o attend_v conscionable_o upon_o all_o the_o mean_n that_o may_v bring_v thou_o to_o he_o and_o be_v not_o here_o wonderful_a gain_n so_o that_o you_o may_v see_v of_o what_o use_v the_o intercession_n of_o christ_n be_v to_o all_o the_o saint_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o their_o sinful_a infirmity_n that_o they_o bear_v about_o they_o i_o will_v now_o dismiss_v you_o present_o with_o two_o short_a uses_n of_o it_o first_o use_v 1._o this_o lesson_n if_o true_o understand_v for_o i_o know_v it_o will_v be_v a_o hard_a thing_n to_o keep_v wicked_a man_n from_o lay_v hand_n upon_o it_o but_o i_o think_v god_n mind_n be_v that_o his_o own_o servant_n shall_v have_v their_o portion_n whosoever_o abuse_v it_o but_o here_o they_o may_v have_v a_o constant_a relief_n against_o that_o which_o be_v their_o great_a burden_n i_o be_o sure_a of_o it_o if_o thou_o be_v the_o lord_n no_o burden_n like_o thy_o corruption_n and_o thy_o other_o affliction_n will_v be_v easy_o bear_v by_o thou_o if_o so_o be_v corruption_n do_v not_o aggravate_v they_o in_o thy_o own_o apprehension_n now_o if_o the_o world_n be_v give_v thou_o it_o will_v not_o be_v such_o a_o succour_n as_o this_o to_o thou_o when_o thou_o can_v say_v in_o all_o thy_o wander_n oh_o i_o have_v talk_v with_o many_o a_o soul_n oh_o never_o such_o a_o unprofitable_a wretch_n as_o i_o say_v one_o i_o think_v no_o one_o have_v such_o a_o forgetful_a head_n as_o i_o say_v another_o and_o none_o have_v such_o impetuous_a affection_n as_o i_o say_v another_o oh_o but_o do_v thou_o remember_v that_o he_o be_v at_o god_n right_a hand_n that_o give_v himself_o for_o thou_o and_o in_o a_o acceptable_a day_n carry_v thou_o home_o and_o carry_v thou_o still_o in_o his_o bosom_n how_o he_o appear_v for_o thou_o every_o day_n
subdue_v thy_o heart_n to_o that_o i_o tell_v thou_o for_o thy_o comfort_n and_o so_o i_o pass_v from_o this_o first_o use_n if_o the_o lord_n have_v subdue_v thy_o heart_n to_o that_o he_o have_v teach_v thou_o that_o lesson_n which_o though_o it_o be_v the_o first_o in_o order_n to_o christianity_n yet_o it_o be_v the_o hard_a nut_n thou_o have_v to_o crack_v it_o be_v a_o lesson_n that_o nothing_o but_o god_n spirit_n dwell_v in_o thou_o ever_o subdue_v thy_o heart_n too_o and_o it_o be_v assure_v a_o token_n that_o the_o lord_n be_v thou_o as_o any_o thing_n that_o ever_o can_v be_v find_v in_o thou_o when_o thou_o have_v renounce_v all_o that_o christ_n may_v be_v all_o to_o thou_o but_o if_o this_o be_v a_o stranger_n to_o thou_o and_o thou_o to_o it_o do_v not_o flatter_v thyself_o with_o thy_o carnal_a confidence_n thou_o may_v be_v very_o religious_a and_o honest_a in_o outward_a show_n but_o thou_o serve_v thy_o self_n and_o not_o the_o lord_n and_o that_o self_n of_o thou_o will_v ruin_v thou_o and_o never_o save_v thou_o and_o therefore_o in_o the_o next_o place_n which_o be_v the_o use_n which_o i_o most_o of_o all_o intend_v and_o which_o when_o i_o have_v do_v with_o i_o have_v do_v my_o sermon_n use_v 2._o i_o will_v labour_v to_o teach_v this_o lesson_n this_o great_a lesson_n of_o self-denial_n i_o will_v be_v a_o help_n to_o those_o that_o be_v in_o preach_v christ_n in_o the_o sacrament_n there_o be_v food_n for_o soul_n and_o if_o we_o can_v look_v aright_o it_o may_v be_v we_o will_v not_o be_v so_o angry_a with_o one_o another_o about_o it_o as_o we_o be_v for_o there_o be_v but_o one_o truth_n and_o we_o pray_v the_o lord_n to_o reveal_v it_o but_o still_o here_o be_v carry_v on_o the_o life_n of_o comfort_n duty_n direction_n and_o all_o that_o faith_n meddle_v with_o that_o the_o lord_n people_n may_v enjoy_v but_o for_o god_n sake_n and_o as_o you_o love_v the_o life_n of_o your_o soul_n watch_v against_o temptation_n that_o past_a and_o second_o and_o principal_o to_o lay_v out_o of_o the_o word_n the_o true_a directoin_n the_o easy_a and_o the_o ready_a way_n that_o a_o willing_a soul_n may_v take_v to_o be_v build_v up_o in_o it_o for_o encouragement_n to_o provoke_v you_o to_o it_o i_o pray_v think_v of_o these_o thing_n first_o if_o you_o will_v be_v christian_n it_o be_v our_o trade_n and_o the_o way_n of_o our_o livelihood_n we_o have_v no_o other_o mystery_n for_o the_o maintenance_n of_o our_o life_n but_o faith_n that_o be_v clear_a scholar_n may_v live_v by_o their_o wit_n tradesman_n upon_o their_o mystery_n and_o gentleman_n upon_o their_o wealth_n but_o as_o a_o christian_a we_o have_v no_o other_o live_v or_o way_n of_o live_v to_o god_n but_o only_o our_o faith_n now_o because_o it_o be_v our_o life_n and_o our_o trade_n and_o our_o profession_n it_o will_v be_v a_o horrible_a shame_n to_o be_v find_v bungler_n in_o that_o that_o be_v proper_o our_o own_o mystery_n if_o a_o man_n shall_v come_v and_o examine_v i_o a_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o put_v into_o my_o hand_n a_o merchant_n book_n and_o bid_v i_o cast_v up_o such_o a_o account_n and_o i_o can_v not_o this_o
