for_o sit_v down_o when_o they_o have_v no_o guide_n to_o show_v they_o the_o way_n to_o walk_v in_o and_o that_o from_o a_o purpose_n in_o himself_o to_o leave_v the_o great_a part_n of_o mankind_n without_o any_o other_o guide_n to_o direct_v they_o in_o matter_n of_o salvation_n but_o that_o that_o be_v insufficient_a that_o it_o must_v be_v a_o miracle_n if_o it_o show_v they_o the_o way_n to_o heaven_n according_a to_o their_o common_a answer_n when_o ask_v how_o those_o must_v be_v save_v who_o have_v not_o the_o scripture_n among_o they_o which_o these_o account_n the_o only_a rule_n to_o guide_n man_n why_o we_o leave_v they_o to_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n say_v they_o the_o lord_n may_v in_o a_o extraordinary_a manner_n bring_v some_o to_o heaven_n if_o he_o have_v any_o elect_n great_a number_n of_o mankind_n by_o absolute_a predestination_n not_o stick_v to_o affirm_v that_o god_n nor_o christ_n never_o purpose_v love_n nor_o salvation_n to_o a_o great_a part_n of_o mankind_n and_o that_o the_o come_v and_o suffering_n of_o christ_n never_o be_v intend_v nor_o can_v be_v useful_a to_o their_o justification_n but_o must_v and_o will_v be_v effectual_a for_o their_o condemnation_n so_o be_v void_a of_o universal_a love_n themselves_o they_o fond_o imagine_v the_o lord_n to_o be_v like_o themselves_o hence_o conclude_v there_o be_v no_o salvation_n to_o of_o god_n be_v not_o come_v there_o his_o will_n can_v never_o perfect_o be_v do_v but_o where_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v know_v and_o witness_v to_o be_v within_o that_o give_v power_n and_o ability_n and_o make_v willing_a to_o yield_v obedience_n unto_o his_o requiring_n of_o we_o so_o that_o here_o every_o one_o according_a to_o their_o several_a measure_n may_v perfect_o perform_v of_o the_o christian_a faith_n which_o stand_v in_o submit_v to_o the_o righteousness_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o not_o in_o establish_v any_o righteousness_n of_o our_o own_o as_o inherent_a in_o hold_v true_a when_o it_o come_v to_o be_v examine_v for_o although_o i_o have_v hear_v other_o often_o charge_v it_o upon_o they_o yet_o i_o never_o can_v find_v the_o person_n that_o dare_v say_v this_o be_v their_o own_o confession_n viz_o that_o upon_o the_o account_n of_o inherent_a or_o self-righteousness_n they_o expect_v salvation_n but_o if_o we_o will_v take_v the_o confession_n of_o those_o that_o be_v so_o forward_o to_o make_v confession_n for_o other_o we_o may_v then_o believe_v the_o quaker_n be_v as_o bad_a as_o they_o be_v please_v to_o render_v they_o to_o we_o but_o we_o must_v not_o take_v thing_n upon_o trust_n but_o hear_v both_o party_n if_o we_o will_v be_v ingenuous_a no_o reader_n they_o have_v no_o such_o expectation_n far_o be_v such_o thought_n from_o they_o for_o though_o they_o do_v reckon_v a_o man_n must_v be_v make_v inward_o righteous_a by_o the_o power_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v meet_v for_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n i_o think_v this_o away_o of_o the_o first_o heaven_n and_o the_o first_o earth_n and_o then_o behold_v new_a heaven_n and_o a_o new_a earth_n wherein_o dwell_v righteousness_n as_o there_o be_v a_o come_n to_o this_o weapon_n of_o their_o rebellion_n wherewith_o they_o fight_v against_o god_n and_o wound_v their_o own_o soul_n and_o submit_v themselves_o unto_o his_o ambassador_n of_o peace_n the_o spirit_n of_o his_o son_n in_o their_o conscience_n that_o true_a balm_n of_o giliead_n with_o which_o they_o may_v be_v heal_v three_o that_o i_o may_v be_v right_o understand_v let_v i_o acquaint_v my_o reader_n neither_o do_v i_o assert_v that_o those_o who_o be_v set_v out_o as_o traveller_n in_o zion_n ride_v be_v at_o once_o so_o perfect_o instruct_v in_o all_o the_o path_n thereof_o that_o they_o need_v that_o the_o strong_a may_v be_v consolate_v therefore_o do_v our_o minister_n labour_n in_o the_o word_n and_o doctrine_n to_o convert_v sinner_n to_o christ_n jesus_n the_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o to_o build_v up_o saint_n in_o their_o most_o holy_a faith_n and_o to_o edify_v one_o another_o in_o love_n thus_o much_o in_o answer_n to_o the_o objection_n so_o i_o return_v to_o the_o point_n in_o hand_n which_o be_v further_o to_o demonstrate_v as_o the_o lord_n shall_v enable_v i_o what_o this_o principle_n be_v that_o be_v preach_v up_o among_o we_o it_o be_v that_o divine_a principle_n of_o life_n which_o bring_v the_o glad-tiding_n of_o salvation_n near_o unto_o all_o by_o which_o they_o may_v be_v put_v into_o a_o capacity_n of_o receive_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o the_o gift_n thereof_o which_o he_o have_v purpose_v in_o the_o appearance_n of_o the_o son_n of_o his_o love_n to_o bestow_v upon_o as_o many_o as_o shall_v believe_v this_o be_v the_o everlasting_a gospel_n 1_o cor._n 2._o 1_o 4._o and_o the_o tendency_n of_o their_o ministry_n be_v to_o direct_v people_n to_o the_o teach_v of_o christ_n
the_o one_o prophet_n promise_v to_o israel_n deut_n 18._o 18._o which_o promise_v the_o apostle_n repeat_v act_n 3._o 22._o saying_n and_o it_o shall_v come_v to_o pass_v that_o every_o soul_n that_o he_o let_v i_o see_v it_o be_v but_o a_o humane_a righteousness_n and_o a_o invent_v traditional_a worship_n set_v up_o by_o the_o will_n and_o perform_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o man_n and_o derive_v to_o i_o by_o outward_a instruction_n and_o education_n so_o that_o i_o have_v a_o form_n which_o the_o power_n do_v not_o attend_v for_o want_v of_o have_v regard_n to_o the_o moving_n and_o guidance_n of_o god_n own_o spirit_n in_o which_o alone_o he_o delight_v to_o be_v worship_v and_o therefore_o be_v he_o strive_v by_o this_o his_o spirit_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o child_n of_o man_n to_o bring_v they_o out_o of_o all_o form_n of_o humane_a establish_n that_o they_o may_v worship_v he_o in_o spirit_n and_o in_o truth_n and_o serve_v he_o in_o the_o gospel_n of_o his_o son_n that_o so_o they_o may_v be_v accept_v through_o he_o yet_o i_o do_v acknowledge_v that_o while_o i_o see_v no_o far_o and_o do_v sincere_o serve_v the_o lord_n in_o the_o way_n which_o i_o walk_v
