mercy_n not_o of_o merit_n though_o there_o be_v a_o work_n wrought_v and_o work_v too_o yet_o the_o witness_n attribute_n this_o to_o and_o so_o witness_v to_o it_o as_o of_o grace_n the_o son_n of_o god_n be_v and_o their_o salvation_n be_v not_o of_o work_n but_o of_o grace_n joh._n 1.12_o 13._o rom._n 4.1_o 16._o and_o 9.15_o 16._o and_o 11.5_o 6._o jam._n 1.17_o 18._o tit._n 3.4_o 5._o 2_o tim._n 1.9_o by_o all_o which_o it_o do_v appear_v that_o all_o be_v of_o grace_n and_o on_o this_o bottom_n and_o fondation_n be_v the_o witness_n lay_v and_o bear_v to_o it_o it_o be_v call_v sonlship_n by_o adoption_n which_o be_v mere_o of_o grace_n all_o adoption_n be_v so_o and_o it_o be_v to_o this_o as_o such_o that_o the_o spirit_n witness_v as_o rom._n 8.15_o 16._o gal._n 4.6_o it_o bear_v witness_n that_o we_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n but_o still_o that_o we_o be_v so_o by_o adoption_n and_o not_o by_o nature_n for_o so_o we_o be_v child_n of_o wrath_n ephes_n 2.3_o and_o as_o to_o work_n we_o be_v child_n of_o disobedience_n and_o enemy_n in_o our_o mind_n by_o wicked_a work_n col._n 1.21_o and_o as_o to_o work_n wrought_v by_o we_o after_o the_o new_a birth_n we_o be_v not_o the_o child_n of_o god_n by_o they_o for_o they_o be_v from_o our_o be_v first_o the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o that_o not_o from_o our_o worth_n or_o will_n but_o his_o grace_n and_o good_a will_n to_o this_o and_o to_o nothing_o but_o this_o and_o on_o this_o account_n do_v the_o spirit_n bear_v witness_n and_o this_o much_o of_o the_o second_o rule_n viz._n the_o ground_n on_o which_o it_o witness_v 3._o the_o witness_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v know_v by_o the_o end_v it_o aim_v at_o and_o attain_v by_o affect_v they_o when_o it_o bear_v witness_v what_o they_o be_v i_o have_v declare_v in_o part_n before_o and_o shall_v show_v more_o hereafter_o and_o therefore_o content_v myself_o with_o but_o hint_v a_o few_o thing_n here_o the_o design_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v the_o abase_v of_o we_o and_o the_o exalt_v of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n love_v the_o father_n grace_n
but_o to_o bring_v forth_o and_o then_o to_o bring_v up_o and_o will_v not_o thou_o who_o be_v the_o same_o to_o day_n as_o yesterday_o be_v merciful_a as_o thou_o be_v wont_v to_o they_o that_o love_v thy_o name_n which_o lord_n my_o dear_a lord_n thou_o know_v i_o do_v urge_v it_o yet_o again_o that_o thou_o come_v not_o to_o say_v as_o many_o who_o will_v show_v we_o any_o good_a for_o corn_n and_o wine_n and_o oil_n but_o for_o the_o light_n of_o his_o countenance_n and_o his_o love_a kindness_n which_o be_v to_o thou_o better_o than_o life_n if_o yet_o he_o answer_v not_o go_v on_o and_o confess_v that_o thou_o be_v unworthy_a of_o so_o great_a a_o favour_n than_o the_o father_n kiss_v the_o prodigal_a yet_o that_o thou_o pray_v he_o to_o remember_v that_o all_o other_o be_v so_o and_o if_o he_o please_v to_o do_v for_o thou_o as_o he_o have_v for_o some_o other_o that_o thou_o will_v give_v he_o as_o they_o do_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o say_v it_o be_v not_o my_o merit_n no_o desert_n of_o i_o it_o be_v only_o thy_o pure_a love_n have_v make_v i_o thou_o though_o it_o be_v a_o favour_n too_o great_a for_o thou_o to_o beg_v yet_o not_o for_o he_o to_o give_v who_o be_v the_o god_n of_o all_o grace_n and_o have_v promise_v that_o if_o we_o confess_v our_o sin_n he_o be_v just_a and_o faithful_a to_o forgive_v we_o our_o sin_n they_o speed_v best_a who_o confess_v their_o unworthiness_n and_o ill_a deserve_n as_o the_o prodigal_n and_o other_o do_v if_o yet_o he_o smile_v not_o upon_o thou_o tell_v he_o that_o it_o be_v real_o a_o great_a grief_n of_o heart_n to_o thou_o to_o sebat_v what_o a_o poor_a low_a and_o inconsiderable_a a_o rate_n thou_o live_v and_o how_o at_o most_o unserviceable_a thou_o be_v to_o his_o glory_n and_o that_o thou_o will_v glad_o do_v he_o better_a service_n that_o thou_o have_v hear_v of_o what_o a_o ingenuous_a and_o dutiful_a dispesition_n and_o how_o fruitful_a the_o little_a child_n be_v and_o that_o upon_o this_o very_a account_n thou_o long_v to_o be_v one_o of_o the_o number_n yea_o though_o thou_o shall_v not_o be_v acquaint_v with_o the_o joy_n and_o rapture_n that_o they_o be_v tell_v he_o that_o thou_o come_v not_o mere_o to_o have_v more_o pleasure_n for_o thyself_o but_o to_o please_v he_o more_o yea_o that_o thou_o may_v walk_v worthy_a of_o he_o to_o all_o well-pleasing_a tell_v he_o that_o the_o lord_n jesus_n say_v he_o have_v more_o of_o the_o father_n heart-love_n to_o display_v which_o shall_v be_v do_v by_o the_o spirit_n and_o that_o he_o shall_v enable_v they_o to_o bear_v these_o discovery_n who_o afore-time_o can_v not_o do_v it_o and_o that_o if_o he_o please_v he_o can_v advance_v and_o prefer_v thou_o to_o this_o honour_n also_o oh_o lord_n strengthen_v i_o and_o perfect_a that_o which_o concern_v thy_o servant_n if_o yet_o he_o make_v not_o himself_o know_v tell_v he_o far_o that_o jâ—sus_n christ_n promise_v that_o whatever_o of_o this_o nature_n and_o concern_v thou_o among_o other_o shall_v ask_v in_o his_o name_n that_o it_o shall_v be_v do_v and_o pray_v he_o to_o remember_v his_o own_o son_n and_o promise_n sure_o he_o will_v be_v as_o good_a as_o his_o word_n who_o be_v faithful_a and_o can_v deny_v himself_o be_v there_o not_o a_o much_o more_o put_v on_o the_o heavenly_a father_n the_o father_n of_o spirit_n as_o to_z giving_z good_a thing_n yea_o his_o holy_a spirit_n to_o they_o that_o ask_v it_o add_v hereunto_o that_o thou_o be_v sick_a of_o love_n and_o so_o sick_a that_o if_o he_o do_v not_o shine_v on_o thou_o it_o will_v cost_v thou_o thy_o life_n and_o will_v he_o see_v thou_o die_v in_o a_o love_n fit_a he_o who_o thou_o love_v be_v sick_a and_o he_o who_o love_v thou_o be_v sick_a be_v the_o two_o oblige_a argument_n and_o though_o thou_o can_v not_o say_v the_o former_a yet_o thou_o can_v the_o latter_a and_o therefore_o pray_v he_o who_o be_v love_n to_o have_v compassion_n on_o thou_o in_o this_o thy_o sickness_n see_v love_n have_v make_v thou_o so_o the_o spouse_n have_v no_o soon_o plead_v this_o but_o he_o embrace_v she_o his_o left_a hand_n be_v under_o her_o head_n and_o his_o right_a hand_n over_o her_o heart_n she_o be_v embosomed_a between_o the_o arm_n of_o love_n cant._n 2.5.6_o oh_o dear_a lord_n let_v it_o be_v so_o with_o i_o if_o yet_o he_o seem_v not_o to_o regard_v thou_o tell_v he_o then_o that_o if_o he_o persist_v in_o deny_v thou_o it_o may_v prove_v a_o great_a temptation_n and_o snare_n to_o thou_o to_o turn_v aside_o to_o the_o flock_n of_o his_o companion_n ah_o lord_n satan_n and_o flesh_n and_o blood_n have_v often_o blurt_v out_o such_o thing_n as_o these_o why_o will_v thou_o wait_v on_o one_o who_o care_v not_o for_o thou_o nor_o will_v provide_v thou_o bread_n no_o nor_o give_v thou_o a_o good_a word_n or_o look_n but_o this_o o_o lord_n go_v to_o my_o heart_n as_o a_o sword_n that_o they_o shall_v say_v where_o be_v thy_o god_n oh_o lead_v i_o not_o into_o temptation_n but_o give_v i_o one_o kiss_v at_o least_o that_o i_o may_v tell_v satan_n from_o experience_n it_o be_v good_a oh_o how_o good_a '_o it_o be_v to_o draw_v near_o to_o and_o to_o wait_v on_o god_n and_o that_o i_o seek_v not_o his_o face_n in_o vain_a go_v on_o and_o tell_v he_o that_o thou_o be_v resolve_v thou_o will_v never_o give_v he_o over_o but_o will_v cleave_v to_o he_o with_o full_a purpose_n of_o heart_n that_o he_o shall_v have_v a_o importunate_a suitor_n of_o thou_o and_o that_o thou_o will_v give_v he_o no_o rest_n but_o what_o continual_o pursue_v he_o and_o beg_v other_o also_o to_o do_v as_o much_o for_o thou_o till_o he_o establish_v thou_o a_o praise_n in_o the_o earth_n by_o say_v be_v he_o not_o my_o dear_a son_n a_o pleasant_a child_n i_o will_v sure_o have_v mercy_n upon_o he_o say_v the_o lord_n tell_v he_o though_o he_o lame_v thou_o as_o he_o do_v jacob_n yet_o thou_o will_v not_o let_v he_o go_v till_o he_o bless_v thou_o and_o give_v thou_o a_o new_a name_n yea_o though_o he_o call_v thou_o dog_n and_o beat_v thou_o with_o frown_n and_o hard_a expression_n yet_o that_o thou_o will_v love_v he_o and_o lie_v at_o his_o foot_n for_o all_o that_o if_o he_o begin_v to_o speak_v though_o it_o be_v against_o thou_o as_o he_o do_v to_o ephraim_n and_o the_o woman_n of_o canaâ—n_n yet_o take_v hold_v of_o what_o he_o say_v and_o plead_v it_o for_o it_o will_v be_v to_o thy_o advantage_n at_o last_o as_o it_o be_v too_o they_o if_o he_o tell_v thou_o that_o thou_o be_v not_o yet_o in_o a_o capacity_n answer_v he_o humble_o that_o never_o any_o be_v till_o he_o be_v please_v to_o make_v they_o so_o and_o that_o thou_o come_v to_o pray_v he_o that_o he_o will_v capacitate_v and_o make_v thou_o meet_v if_o he_o tell_v thou_o thou_o will_v be_v wanton_a and_o abuse_v it_o by_o be_v puss_v up_o etc._n etc._n tell_v he_o that_o he_o can_v prevent_v it_o by_o his_o grace_n it_o be_v true_a thy_o heart_n alas_o be_v deceitful_a but_o thou_o do_v not_o intend_v any_o such_o thing_n but_o do_v hope_v that_o if_o he_o will_v give_v thou_o this_o pearl_n it_o shall_v not_o be_v cast_v to_o a_o swine_n that_o will_v trample_v upon_o it_o nor_o to_o a_o dog_n that_o will_v turn_v again_o and_o rend_v it_o and_o do_v also_o pray_v he_o that_o thou_o may_v never_o receive_v this_o grace_n and_o favour_n in_o vain_a or_o turn_v it_o into_o wantonness_n or_o sit_v because_o his_o grace_n abound_v if_o he_o tell_v thou_o the_o time_n be_v not_o yet_o come_v reply_v to_o he_o that_o thou_o will_v wait_v his_o pleasure_n and_o not_o awake_v he_o till_o he_o please_v but_o wait_v all_o thy_o day_n if_o at_o last_o this_o change_n may_v come_v oh_o that_o this_o happy_a change_n may_v come_v conclude_v by_o tell_v he_o that_o if_o thou_o have_v be_v bold_a it_o be_v in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o great_a highpriest_n who_o sit_v at_o his_o own_o right_a hand_n and_o be_v touch_v with_o the_o feel_n of_o thy_o infirmity_n by_o who_o thou_o have_v be_v embolden_v to_o come_v with_o thy_o petition_n and_o present_v they_o to_o the_o throne_n of_o his_o grace_n that_o thou_o may_v obtain_v this_o mercy_n and_o grace_n for_o thy_o opportune_a and_o seasonable_a relief_n and_o therefore_o though_o thou_o can_v not_o call_v he_o thy_o father_n yet_o thou_o can_v call_v upon_o he_o as_o the_o father_n of_o jesus_n christ_n who_o hear_v he_o always_o yea_o at_o a_o adventure_n speak_v to_o he_o and_o call_v though_o thou_o can_v not_o cry_v aloud_o and_o confident_o yet_o
