tremendous_a judgement_n that_o can_v be_v threaten_v or_o inflict_v in_o this_o world_n first_o what_o be_v it_o for_o god_n to_o give_v up_o any_o to_o their_o own_o heart_n lust_n second_o what_o be_v his_o usual_a method_n of_o inflict_v such_o a_o judgement_n three_o wherein_o do_v the_o terror_n and_o dread_a of_o such_o a_o judgement_n appear_v or_o what_o consideration_n will_v manifest_v this_o to_o be_v such_o a_o dismal_a judgement_n what_o i_o shall_v speak_v under_o these_o three_o head_n will_v make_v way_n for_o the_o practical_a application_n i_o must_v grant_v that_o there_o be_v a_o unsearchable_a depth_n in_o the_o divine_a judgement_n especial_o in_o his_o method_n of_o severity_n towards_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n and_o therefore_o when_o we_o have_v go_v as_o far_o as_o scripture_n and_o experience_n will_v direct_v and_o lead_v we_o we_o must_v yet_o cry_v out_o o_o the_o bottomless_a depth_n of_o the_o divine_a counsel_n how_o unsearchable_a be_v his_o judgement_n 32.4_o rom._n 11.33_o deut._n 32.4_o and_o his_o way_n past_o find_v out_o however_o we_o must_v hold_v to_o this_o that_o all_o his_o work_n be_v perfect_a â—nd_v that_o he_o be_v a_o their_o owâ—_n heart_n lust_n and_o that_o such_o a_o thing_n there_o may_v be_v and_o be_v as_o god_n give_v man_n over_o to_o their_o false_a imagination_n and_o conception_n of_o thing_n their_o inordinate_a desire_n and_o irregular_a passion_n their_o wicked_a project_n and_o contrivance_n for_o the_o fulfil_n of_o their_o various_a lust_n etc._n etc._n when_o he_o give_v they_o up_o to_o these_o lust_n he_o cast_v they_o out_o of_o hiâ—_n special_a care_n and_o protection_n so_o as_o they_o become_v a_o easy_a prey_n to_o the_o deviâ—_n and_o the_o hebrew_n word_n which_o we_o translate_v give_v up_o be_v often_o use_v for_o thâ—_n cast_v out_o a_o people_n out_o of_o their_o country_n as_o in_o 44._o psal_n 2._o such_o person_n aâ—_n also_o leave_v of_o god_n under_o the_o tyranny_n and_o dominion_n of_o their_o lust_n without_o those_o restraint_n of_o providence_n anâ—_n grace_n which_o before_o they_o have_v whaâ—_n more_o may_v be_v intend_v in_o such_o a_o expression_n will_v appear_v in_o speak_v to_o the_o second_o head_n viz._n to_o show_v by_o what_o step_n and_o degree_n god_n do_v execute_v and_o inflict_v such_o a_o judgement_n upon_o they_o and_o then_o three_o i_o shall_v speak_v something_o further_o of_o the_o dreadfulness_n of_o this_o judgement_n and_o so_o apply_v the_o whole_a ii_o by_o what_o step_n or_o degree_n the_o bless_a god_n do_v usual_o proceed_v in_o inflict_v such_o a_o judgement_n as_o this_o for_o the_o better_a understanding_n of_o this_o i_o must_v premise_v by_o way_n of_o caution_n 1._o that_o whatever_o method_n be_v take_v in_o the_o execution_n of_o so_o severe_a a_o doom_n we_o must_v remember_v there_o be_v a_o great_a depth_n of_o obscurity_n in_o these_o judgement_n of_o god_n there_o be_v so_o in_o all_o his_o work_n of_o judgement_n but_o especial_o in_o such_o as_o do_v more_o immediate_o relate_v to_o the_o soul_n of_o men._n we_o know_v very_o little_a of_o the_o manner_n of_o god_n influence_n upon_o man_n spirit_n and_o therefore_o shall_v be_v very_o humble_a and_o wary_a modest_a and_o caution_n in_o our_o expression_n about_o it_o and_o yet_o from_o what_o we_o observe_v of_o such_o spiritual_a judgement_n we_o may_v cry_v out_o with_o the_o apostle_n rom._n 11.33_o o_o the_o depth_n of_o the_o riches_n both_o of_o the_o wisdom_n and_o knowledge_n of_o god_n how_o unsearchable_a be_v his_o judgement_n and_o his_o way_n past_o find_v out_o we_o know_v very_o little_a of_o the_o manner_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n be_v influence_n in_o form_v the_o image_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o soul_n and_o much_o less_o concern_v the_o manner_n of_o this_o punishment_n in_o the_o text_n whereby_o man_n be_v harden_v in_o sin_n through_o the_o righteous_a judgement_n of_o god_n to_o their_o eternal_a ruin_n however_o 2._o remember_v this_o be_v a_o judicial_a act_n in_o god_n not_o a_o arbitrary_a thing_n that_o depend_v upon_o mere_a will_n and_o pleasure_n without_o
