dangerous_a disease_n and_o he_o apprehend_v that_o without_o the_o use_n of_o some_o skilful_a physician_n he_o can_v live_v though_o he_o can_v come_v at_o this_o physician_n without_o a_o laborious_a journey_n and_o know_v the_o physic_n will_v not_o please_v his_o palate_n yet_o a_o man_n will_v not_o lose_v his_o opportunity_n nor_o neglect_v take_v physic_n according_a to_o the_o physician_n prescription_n whereas_o if_o he_o apprehend_v his_o distemper_n such_o as_o he_o know_v at_o any_o time_n how_o to_o remove_v by_o some_o mean_n in_o his_o own_o power_n he_o be_v very_o very_o prone_a to_o slight_v and_o neglect_v the_o mean_n with_o which_o god_n use_v to_o concur_v give_v the_o soul_n a_o power_n to_o do_v these_o thing_n above_o what_o it_o have_v in_o itself_o but_o now_o admit_v a_o soul_n possess_v of_o the_o necessity_n of_o faith_n repentance_n and_o new_a obedience_n in_o order_n to_o its_o eternal_a happiness_n and_o also_o to_o know_v that_o it_o can_v do_v these_o thing_n without_o a_o powerful_a influence_n of_o divine_a grace_n which_o god_n use_v not_o to_o give_v out_o in_o the_o neglect_n but_o in_o the_o use_n of_o those_o mean_n of_o because_o they_o judge_v of_o their_o complexion_n by_o a_o mere_a sensual_a eye_n and_o from_o a_o mere_a erroneous_a judgement_n we_o have_v therefore_o no_o reason_n to_o be_v disquiet_v because_o of_o it_o but_o indeed_o the_o main_a use_n we_o shall_v 3_o make_v of_o this_o point_n shall_v be_v for_o caution_n and_o that_o in_o two_o particular_n 1._o that_o affliction_n may_v not_o blacken_v we_o 2._o that_o we_o do_v not_o judge_v other_o black_a because_o of_o they_o 1._o will_v affliction_n blacken_v the_o spouse_n of_o christ_n let_v we_o take_v heed_n that_o they_o have_v not_o this_o ill_a influence_n upon_o we_o we_o have_v hear_v that_o they_o no_o otherwise_o make_v we_o black_a then_o as_o they_o be_v occasion_n to_o draw_v out_o our_o lust_n and_o corruption_n this_o be_v that_o which_o we_o be_v more_o especial_o to_o watch_v upon_o in_o afflictive_a providence_n god_n try_v we_o and_o satan_n and_o the_o world_n also_o try_v and_o tempt_v we_o god_n try_v our_o faith_n our_o patience_n our_o submission_n to_o his_o will_n whether_o we_o will_v deny_v ourselves_o and_o take_v up_o the_o cross_n and_o follow_v he_o the_o devil_n and_o the_o man_n of_o the_o world_n which_o be_v the_o devil_n instrument_n try_v we_o whether_o we_o will_v desert_v our_o profession_n deny_v the_o lord_n that_o buy_v we_o forsake_v the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o embrace_v a_o present_a world_n if_o upon_o god_n trial_n his_o end_n be_v obtain_v then_o be_v we_o by_o our_o affliction_n purify_v and_o make_v white_a if_o the_o devil_n and_o his_o instrument_n prevail_v upon_o we_o then_o be_v we_o by_o our_o affliction_n make_v black_a this_o be_v the_o thing_n we_o be_v to_o take_v heed_n of_o job_n 2._o 3._o after_o that_o god_n have_v take_v away_o job_n estate_n and_o child_n he_o say_v to_o satan_n have_v thou_o consider_v my_o servant_n job_n that_o there_o be_v none_o like_o he_o in_o all_o the_o earth_n a_o perfect_a and_o a_o upright_a man_n one_o that_o fear_v god_n and_o eschew_v evil_a and_o still_o he_o hold_v fast_o his_o integrity_n although_o thou_o move_v i_o against_o he_o to_o destroy_v he_o without_o a_o cause_n how_o white_a there_o do_v job_n appear_v after_o his_o affliction_n but_o i_o shall_v not_o enlarge_v my_o discourse_n to_o affliction_n in_o the_o general_n but_o limit_v it_o to_o such_o affliction_n as_o be_v more_o peculiar_a to_o the_o spouse_n of_o christ_n and_o which_o i_o have_v have_v a_o more_o special_a reference_n to_o in_o my_o former_a discourse_n viz._n persecution_n or_o suffering_n for_o our_o adherence_n to_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o the_o good_a way_n
