the_o temple_n and_o where_o it_o be_v write_v with_o a_o humble_a and_o contrite_a heart_n god_n will_v dwell_v be_v not_o there_o intend_v god_n will_v dwell_v in_o my_o heart_n by_o his_o person_n but_o by_o faith_n as_o it_o be_v write_v that_o christ_n 1â—_n eph._n 3_o 1â—_n may_v dwell_v in_o your_o heart_n by_o faith_n etc._n etc._n as_o mind_v the_o word_n of_o the_o prophet_n thus_o say_v not_o have_v be_v divine_a but_o of_o angelical_a desire_a nature_n of_o unsatisfaction_n in_o its_o self_n but_o that_o divine_a soul_n of_o adam_n which_o be_v create_v after_o the_o likeness_n of_o the_o eternal_a god_n do_v consist_v of_o several_a heavenly_a property_n in_o its_o measure_n answerable_a unto_o those_o divine_a qualification_n in_o the_o glorious_a creator_n above_o all_o measure_n for_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n be_v not_o without_o its_o several_a property_n and_o yet_o they_o be_v all_o in_o a_o heavenly_a harmony_n in_o that_o the_o joy_n of_o soul_n that_o adam_n do_v possess_v arise_v in_o he_o from_o one_o divine_a heavenly_a voice_n call_v the_o spirit_n of_o faith_n which_o be_v all_o satisfaction_n in_o himself_o with_o his_o present_a condition_n not_o have_v the_o least_o thought_n of_o further_a happiness_n than_o what_o he_o enjoy_v already_o thus_o as_o the_o divine_a nature_n of_o the_o eternal_a spirit_n be_v variety_n of_o infinite_a satisfaction_n in_o itself_o so_o likewise_o the_o soul_n of_o adam_n be_v compose_v of_o the_o same_o qualification_n be_v variety_n of_o satisfaction_n in_o itself_o also_o according_a to_o its_o measure_n now_o if_o the_o nature_n of_o adam_n soul_n have_v be_v as_o thou_o say_v rational_a in_o his_o creation_n then_o through_o want_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n of_o faith_n adam_n will_v always_o have_v be_v desire_v after_o something_o that_o he_o want_v like_a unto_o the_o elect_a angel_n for_o this_o i_o know_v the_o nature_n of_o adam_n soul_n can_v not_o possible_o have_v any_o reason_n in_o it_o and_o that_o because_o the_o very_a nature_n of_o reason_n be_v not_o only_o as_o aforesaid_a but_o it_o be_v too_o serious_a in_o its_o consideration_n whether_o thing_n be_v good_a or_o right_n that_o be_v propound_v to_o its_o understanding_n when_o on_o the_o contrary_a that_o nature_n or_o breath_n of_o faith_n which_o single_o be_v entire_o give_v to_o adam_n without_o the_o least_o consideration_n perfect_o know_v the_o excellency_n of_o a_o thing_n as_o soon_o as_o ever_o it_o be_v present_v unto_o it_o and_o therefore_o adam_n nature_n must_v needs_o be_v divine_a as_o god_n be_v and_o supernatural_a though_o clothe_v with_o pure_a nature_n only_o reason_n if_o it_o be_v as_o thou_o say_v that_o god_n nature_n be_v all_o divine_a heavenly_a faith_n without_o pure_a reason_n at_o all_o and_o adam_n be_v only_a partaker_n of_o that_o nature_n which_o thou_o say_v be_v so_o immortal_a pure_a that_o it_o be_v all_o divine_a heavenly_a satisfaction_n in_o its_o self_n how_o come_v it_o then_o that_o adam_n have_v that_o nature_n of_o divine_a satisfaction_n in_o his_o own_o soul_n do_v fall_v from_o that_o happy_a and_o innocent_a condition_n wherein_o he_o be_v create_v faith_n from_o the_o revelation_n of_o faith_n in_o my_o soul_n i_o declare_v that_o in_o the_o nature_n of_o god_n there_o be_v not_o the_o least_o motion_n of_o the_o pure_a reason_n at_o all_o that_o be_v only_o the_o angel_n nature_n as_o aforesaid_a neither_o be_v it_o possible_a there_o shall_v be_v in_o that_o thou_o have_v hear_v in_o that_o chapter_n treat_v of_o the_o angel_n creation_n that_o reason_n in_o the_o pure_a sense_n be_v but_o a_o mere_a desire_n of_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o something_o that_o be_v above_o it_o so_o no_o real_a satisfaction_n in_o its_o self_n therefore_o if_o the_o nature_n of_o god_n be_v pure_a reason_n as_o papist_n episcopal_n presbyter_n independent_a anabaptist_n ranter_n quaker_n and_o all_o atheistical_a opinion_n of_o thy_o seed_n affirm_v than_o i_o say_v the_o creator_n that_o give_v satisfaction_n to_o another_o be_v not_o satisfy_v in_o its_o self_n and_o so_o in_o thy_o reason_n will_v follow_v there_o be_v something_o above_o god_n that_o must_v give_v satisfaction_n to_o god_n which_o from_o a_o unerring_a spirit_n be_v curse_a blasphemy_n when_o it_o be_v write_v in_o he_o virtue_n of_o faith_n in_o so_o much_o that_o there_o be_v not_o the_o least_o let_v or_o doubt_n but_o whatever_o it_o believe_v shall_v come_v to_o pass_v and_o to_o faith_n there_o be_v nothing_o unpossible_a that_o its_o revelation_n move_v it_o to_o do_v when_o on_o the_o contrary_a reason_n be_v such_o antiphathy_n that_o it_o be_v a_o body_n of_o mere_a imaginary_a desire_n and_o no_o reality_n clothe_v with_o fear_n let_v and_o doubt_n of_o faith_n eternal_a power_n now_o though_o the_o soul_n of_o adam_n through_o the_o divine_a purity_n of_o its_o nature_n be_v immortal_a and_o uncapable_a of_o any_o rebellion_n against_o the_o glorious_a spirit_n of_o its_o creator_n yet_o because_o its_o body_n be_v natural_a and_o have_v its_o beginning_n of_o this_o dust_n below_o his_o immortal_a soul_n have_v its_o be_v in_o a_o piece_n of_o clay_n be_v become_v subject_a through_o temptation_n to_o be_v transmute_v from_o its_o present_a condition_n of_o his_o create_a innocency_n for_o this_o faith_n know_v though_o the_o soul_n of_o adam_n be_v of_o a_o divine_a nature_n yet_o because_o it_o be_v a_o create_a nature_n distinct_a to_o itself_o it_o be_v become_v a_o son_n or_o through_o the_o permission_n of_o god_n be_v first_o guilty_a of_o the_o transgression_n of_o lust_n and_o so_o tempt_v her_o innocent_a husband_n to_o lie_v with_o she_o if_o possible_a to_o cover_v her_o folly_n and_o now_o from_o the_o lord_n i_o say_v that_o the_o carnal_a i_o desire_v in_o she_o towards_o her_o husband_n proceed_v not_o from_o her_o divine_a purity_n but_o from_o the_o rational_a nature_n of_o the_o unclean_a serpent_n within_o she_o reason_n now_o i_o understand_v that_o thou_o make_v faith_n and_o reason_n two_o contrary_n as_o fire_n and_o water_n so_o that_o this_o commission_n be_v give_v to_o thou_o do_v not_o concern_v another_o for_o the_o name_n include_v for_o that_o embassage_n do_v this_o commission_n belong_v now_o for_o any_o other_o to_o counterfeit_v thy_o commission_n thou_o have_v power_n by_o virtue_n thereof_o to_o apprehend_v he_o for_o a_o traitor_n against_o the_o king_n thy_o master_n even_o so_o it_o be_v with_o a_o commission_n that_o dare_v say_v he_o have_v a_o commission_n by_o voice_n of_o word_n from_o god_n as_o we_o have_v thou_o shall_v hear_v that_o i_o will_v curse_v they_o as_o i_o have_v curse_v thou_o and_o where_o be_v any_o of_o your_o teacher_n that_o have_v a_o commission_n of_o his_o own_o but_o moses_n and_o the_o apostle_n who_o they_o have_v counterfeit_v and_o make_v merchandise_n for_o their_o own_o gain_n from_o the_o lord_n of_o glory_n i_o say_v not_o any_o of_o they_o no_o not_o the_o wise_a or_o moderate_v headpiece_n dare_v or_o can_v in_o peace_n of_o conscience_n say_v that_o thou_o be_v damn_v and_o another_o be_v save_v alas_o poor_a blind_a leader_n of_o the_o blind_a they_o know_v not_o what_o will_v become_v of_o their_o own_o soul_n how_o then_o can_v they_o judge_v another_o but_o they_o will_v be_v condemn_v for_o so_o do_v for_o be_v i_o not_o certain_a of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o true_a god_n and_o the_o right_a devil_n and_o all_o other_o that_o be_v live_v and_o know_v this_o if_o the_o roman_a authority_n have_v not_o establish_v moses_n and_o the_o apostle_n write_n for_o scripture_n than_o it_o have_v be_v believe_v no_o more_o than_o we_o for_o thy_o father_n in_o the_o day_n of_o their_o life_n notwithstanding_o their_o miracle_n do_v no_o more_o believe_v in_o they_o than_o thou_o do_v in_o we_o and_o know_v this_o the_o same_o power_n that_o attend_v they_o upon_o external_o do_v belong_v to_o our_o commission_n in_o spiritual_n and_o therefore_o as_o the_o apostle_n have_v power_n in_o his_o commission_n to_o curse_v either_o angel_n or_o man_n that_o do_v preach_v any_o other_o doctrine_n so_o we_o have_v the_o same_o power_n in_o we_o reason_n what_o then_o do_v not_o their_o commission_n belong_v to_o we_o in_o these_o day_n successive_o as_o it_o do_v to_o they_o what_o then_o be_v the_o meaning_n of_o those_o scripture_n where_o it_o be_v write_v the_o scripture_n aforetime_o be_v write_v for_o our_o learning_n and_o again_o it_o be_v write_v teach_v they_o to_o observe_v all_o thing_n whatsoever_o i_o have_v command_v 20._o mat._n 28._o 20._o you_o and_z lo_o i_o be_o with_o you_o always_o unto_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n faith_n from_o the_o lord_n of_o glory_n i_o tell_v thou_o that_o neither_o of_o those_o commission_n do_v belong_v to_o thou_o or_o any_o of_o thy_o seed_n either_o by_o succession_n or_o otherwise_o for_o from_o my_o seed_n of_o faith_n i_o declare_v that_o the_o scripture_n be_v never_o write_v for_o the_o learning_n of_o any_o of_o thy_o seed_n quaker_n downfall_n yet_o from_o my_o wellspring_n within_o i_o i_o tell_v thou_o that_o as_o the_o scripture_n be_v write_v by_o the_o revelation_n or_o inspiration_n of_o faith_n so_o i_o know_v it_o be_v write_v for_o the_o use_n of_o none_o but_o the_o believer_n of_o that_o faith_n which_o neither_o thou_o nor_o none_o of_o thy_o seed_n be_v partaker_n of_o for_o as_o paul_n the_o great_a commissioner_n be_v the_o penman_n of_o those_o say_n so_o that_o scripture_n that_o he_o speak_v of_o be_v the_o writing_n of_o the_o first_o commission_n viz._n moses_n and_o the_o prophet_n which_o be_v write_v before_o his_o time_n and_o so_o for_o the_o learning_n of_o he_o and_o all_o that_o believe_v in_o his_o doctrine_n for_o our_o learning_n that_o be_v of_o the_o seed_n of_o faith_n and_o for_o none_o of_o the_o seed_n of_o reason_n whatsoever_o but_o for_o our_o learning_n the_o word_n plural_a include_v all_o the_o seed_n of_o faith_n with_o he_o be_v the_o scripture_n write_v so_o the_o commission_n of_o moses_n and_o the_o apostle_n be_v not_o write_v for_o the_o use_n of_o any_o of_o the_o seven_o church_n but_o our_o commission_n alone_o for_o as_o none_o understand_v the_o commission_n of_o moses_n and_o the_o prophet_n but_o the_o apostle_n so_o none_o now_o live_v understand_v either_o of_o the_o two_o former_a commission_n but_o this_o our_o spiritual_a commission_n now_o in_o be_v and_o therefore_o from_o my_o seedspring_n i_o tell_v thou_o we_o only_o be_v the_o judge_n of_o the_o scripture_n whatsoever_o reason_n thy_o curse_a seed_n pretend_v to_o the_o contrary_a as_o now_o thou_o shall_v hear_v a_o infallible_a exposition_n of_o the_o other_o scripture_n which_o thou_o have_v quote_v which_o all_o beside_o our_o commission_n give_v a_o false_a definition_n thereof_o go_v you_o therefore_o and_o teach_v all_o â—0_n mâ—t_fw-la 23._o â—0_n nation_n baptise_v they_o in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n son_n and_o holy_a ghost_n teach_v they_o to_o observe_v all_o thing_n whatsoever_o i_o have_v command_v you_o and_z lo_o i_o be_o with_o you_o always_o even_o unto_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n now_o from_o hence_o all_o the_o seven_o church_n of_o thy_o seed_n viz._n papist_n episcopal_n presbyterian_a independent_a baptist_n ranter_n and_o quaker_n do_v suppose_v that_o the_o extent_n of_o these_o word_n be_v in_o force_n to_o the_o end_n of_o this_o world_n and_o therefore_o the_o baptist_n have_v assume_v the_o apostle_n commission_n as_o their_o own_o when_o as_o if_o you_o be_v not_o stone_n blind_a you_o may_v read_v as_o you_o run_v that_o this_o commission_n be_v give_v to_o the_o twelve_o then_o live_v and_o not_o to_o kiffin_n and_o patience_n or_o any_o other_o teacher_n of_o the_o baptist_n whatsoever_o for_o you_o be_v not_o bear_v many_o hundred_o year_n after_o when_o this_o command_n be_v express_v and_o lo_o i_o be_o with_o you_o always_o even_o unto_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n with_o you_o my_o belove_a disciple_n and_o none_o other_o reason_n i_o can_v conceive_v from_o this_o scripture_n but_o there_o be_v to_o be_v a_o continuance_n of_o the_o apostle_n commission_n to_o the_o end_n of_o this_o world_n and_o though_o there_o be_v none_o of_o the_o commissioner_n leave_v to_o give_v or_o invest_v the_o same_o power_n by_o imposition_n of_o hand_n yet_o we_o have_v the_o same_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o we_o although_o not_o in_o the_o same_o measure_n yet_o may_v we_o not_o lawful_o follow_v they_o as_o our_o pattern_n and_o as_o the_o apostle_n exhort_v brethren_n be_v follower_n 17._o phil._n 3._o 17._o together_o of_o i_o and_o mark_v they_o which_o walk_v so_o as_o you_o have_v we_o for_o a_o ensample_n otherwise_o what_o shall_v all_o the_o world_n have_v do_v to_o have_v know_v god_n or_o
christ_n these_o many_o hundred_o year_n since_o uâ—ere_v not_o the_o scripture_n write_v for_o our_o learning_n and_o if_o the_o scripture_n do_v not_o belong_v to_o all_o then_o also_o the_o law_n be_v void_a and_o belong_v to_o none_o so_o than_o none_o will_v be_v condemn_v as_o it_o be_v write_v i_o have_v not_o know_v sin_n but_o by_o the_o law_n and_o the_o law_n make_v sin_n exceed_v sinful_a so_o that_o if_o the_o scripture_n do_v not_o belong_v to_o we_o than_o we_o be_v free_v from_o the_o law_n so_o then_o for_o all_o thy_o curse_n i_o shall_v be_v as_o happy_a as_o thou_o faith_n in_o this_o last_o answer_n i_o shall_v finish_v my_o discourse_n as_o touch_v the_o truth_n and_o variety_n of_o these_o three_o commission_n in_o that_o i_o have_v already_o so_o infallible_o treat_v of_o they_o in_o the_o first_o chapter_n of_o the_o quaker_n downfall_n i_o shall_v no_o long_o demur_v with_o thou_o upon_o this_o but_o shall_v divide_v the_o head_n of_o thy_o question_n into_o these_o particular_n and_o so_o exact_o answer_v they_o as_o they_o lie_v in_o order_n 1._o that_o thou_o believe_v the_o apostle_n commission_n be_v to_o continue_v to_o the_o â—nd_n of_o this_o world_n 2._o that_o though_o all_o the_o commissioner_n be_v dead_a that_o have_v power_n to_o invest_v another_o yet_o thou_o have_v the_o same_o spirit_n though_o as_o thou_o say_v not_o the_o same_o measure_n yet_o thou_o believe_v thou_o may_v pray_v prithee_o and_o baptize_v from_o the_o letter_n as_o they_o do_v 3._o thou_o say_v if_o you_o have_v not_o thus_o do_v how_o shall_v the_o world_n have_v come_v this_o hundred_o year_n to_o have_v know_v god_n or_o christ_n hell_n heaven_n or_o devil_n 4._o thou_o say_v if_o the_o scripture_n do_v not_o belong_v to_o thy_o seed_n than_o the_o law_n do_v not_o belong_v to_o thou_o and_o so_o thou_o conclude_v all_o shall_v be_v happy_a as_o we_o 1._o first_o i_o declare_v that_o the_o apostle_n commission_n be_v to_o continue_v to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n hold_v forth_o in_o that_o commission_n for_o this_o i_o know_v be_v the_o condition_n of_o thy_o father_n the_o jew_n that_o do_v as_o real_o believe_v it_o blasphemy_n for_o christ_n or_o the_o apostle_n to_o pâ—t_v a_o end_n to_o the_o ceremonial_a part_n of_o the_o law_n as_o now_o thou_o do_v that_o our_o commission_n shall_v put_v a_o end_n to_o all_o formal_a worship_n under_o the_o gospel_n but_o however_o i_o say_v unto_o thou_o as_o christ_n say_v to_o thy_o father_n think_v not_o that_o i_o be_o come_v to_o destroy_v the_o law_n and_o the_o prophet_n i_o be_o not_o come_v to_o destroy_v but_o fulfil_v so_o i_o be_o come_v not_o to_o destroy_v the_o reveal_v transaction_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o to_o tell_v thou_o and_o thy_o seed_n that_o as_o there_o be_v to_o be_v three_o commission_n before_o the_o end_n of_o this_o world_n so_o i_o know_v that_o every_o commission_n be_v a_o world_n in_o itself_o and_o to_o itself_o and_o when_o the_o commissioner_n die_v that_o commissionate_a world_n end_v with_o they_o otherwise_o thou_o may_v call_v god_n a_o liar_n to_o promise_v he_o will_v be_v with_o they_o to_o the_o end_n of_o this_o world_n and_o many_o hundred_o year_n ago_o they_o be_v all_o dead_a and_o yet_o this_o world_n remain_v so_o that_o as_o i_o know_v the_o command_n be_v to_o none_o but_o they_o and_o to_o hold_v no_o long_o than_o the_o life_n of_o they_o so_o i_o know_v that_o the_o begin_n of_o one_o commission_n here_o below_o be_v the_o end_n of_o another_o as_o thou_o be_v not_o ignorant_a what_o overturning_n here_o have_v be_v in_o your_o kingdom_n to_o the_o admiration_n of_o the_o inhabitant_n so_o be_v the_o commission_n of_o god_n the_o beginning_n of_o one_o be_v the_o end_n of_o another_o by_o which_o the_o infiniteness_n of_o the_o divine_a revelation_n in_o the_o person_n of_o god_n be_v the_o more_o admire_v to_o behold_v the_o seem_a contrariety_n of_o these_o three_o commission_n that_o one_o put_v a_o period_n to_o the_o other_o as_o a_o great_a light_n cloud_n the_o use_n of_o the_o other_o not_o but_o the_o moon_n be_v a_o true_a light_n in_o herself_o but_o live_v in_o the_o light_n of_o the_o sun_n we_o have_v no_o need_n of_o the_o light_n of_o the_o moon_n so_o the_o apostle_n light_v be_v more_o glorious_a than_o that_o of_o the_o law_n therefore_o no_o need_n of_o the_o ceremonial_a part_n of_o the_o law_n so_o our_o light_n be_v far_o more_o glorious_a than_o that_o of_o the_o apostle_n therefore_o no_o need_n of_o the_o formal_a worship_n of_o the_o gospel_n 2._o second_o see_v the_o beginning_n of_o one_o commission_n be_v the_o end_n of_o another_o how_o then_o can_v thou_o plead_v for_o a_o succession_n of_o the_o formal_a worship_n in_o the_o gospel_n after_o all_o the_o commissioner_n of_o the_o first_o or_o second_o magnitude_n be_v put_v to_o death_n by_o thy_o father_n now_o if_o only_o the_o apostle_n have_v only_o be_v pâ—t_n to_o death_n yet_o if_o timothy_n or_o titus_n who_o be_v bishop_n or_o messenger_n authorize_v by_o they_o have_v be_v preserve_v in_o the_o continuance_n of_o that_o commission_n they_o may_v by_o the_o same_o power_n have_v continue_v the_o bishopric_n by_o their_o imposition_n of_o hand_n upâ—n_v another_o if_o so_o the_o effect_n thereof_o will_v not_o have_v produce_v such_o blind_a lordly_a bishop_n with_o lawn_n sleeve_n cap_n tippit_n and_o such_o like_a foppery_n as_o ever_o since_o have_v continue_v so_o that_o if_o thou_o be_v not_o stone_n blind_a thou_o may_v all_o along_o discern_v there_o be_v no_o succession_n consider_v the_o divine_a knowledge_n and_o poor_a mean_a estate_n of_o the_o true_a bishop_n and_o the_o humane_a knowledge_n and_o lordly_a ragin_v of_o all_o the_o false_a bishop_n ever_o since_o as_o it_o be_v not_o many_o year_n ago_o since_o the_o roman_a lordly_a authority_n have_v the_o whole_a power_n in_o this_o nation_n as_o in_o all_o other_o place_n though_o now_o of_o late_a from_o that_o great_a monster_n bishop_n the_o whore_n of_o babylon_n there_o have_v spring_v six_o son_n or_o generation_n one_o from_o the_o loin_n of_o another_o yet_o each_o one_o refine_a more_o than_o his_o father_n as_o the_o episcopal_a more_o than_o the_o papist_n the_o presbyter_n more_o than_o that_o and_o the_o independent_a more_o than_o that_o and_o the_o baptist_n more_o than_o that_o and_o the_o ranter_n more_o than_o that_o and_o the_o quaker_n more_o than_o you_o all_o insomuch_o that_o the_o father_n have_v disow_v the_o child_n as_o the_o child_n now_o do_v the_o father_n and_o yet_o the_o refine_a son_n of_o they_o be_v but_o a_o formal_a worshipper_n in_o the_o gospel_n which_o when_o the_o last_o son_n be_v beget_v oâ—_n as_o it_o be_v write_v the_o last_o angel_n sound_v viz._n the_o quaker_n than_o the_o mysierie_a of_o truth_n be_v reveal_v that_o be_v our_o commission_n be_v give_v
