but_o the_o elect_a of_o god_n be_v edify_v comfort_v and_o confirm_v in_o his_o grace_n hereby_o though_o these_o be_v not_o many_o for_o many_o be_v call_v but_o few_o elect_a mat._n 20._o 16_o again_o h._n n._n have_v here_o set_v down_o that_o which_o overthrow_v the_o whole_a scope_n of_o his_o writing_n when_o he_o say_v those_o service_n &_o ceremony_n which_o be_v minister_v through_o the_o commandment_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n out_o of_o a_o christian-like_a be_v they_o have_v the_o promise_n while_o they_o be_v right_o obey_v etc._n etc._n if_o thus_o it_o be_v then_o ought_v all_o christian_n to_o labour_n and_o seek_v for_o those_o service_n and_o ceremony_n as_o he_o call_v they_o that_o so_o they_o may_v obteyn_fw-mi the_o promise_n then_o also_o must_v they_o shun_v and_o refreyn_n from_o all_o false_a and_o humane_a ceremony_n or_o service_n which_o have_v no_o promise_n and_o be_v but_o the_o profane_v of_o god_n name_n and_o this_o be_v our_o cause_n faith_n and_o practice_v which_o witness_n against_o and_o absteyn_v from_o the_o antichristian_a service_n and_o ceremony_n of_o popery_n for_o which_o do_v the_o world_n hate_v and_o persecute_v we_o from_o which_o profession_n practice_v and_o patient_a suffer_a this_o writer_n will_v dissuade_v and_o allure_v to_o communion_n with_o wickedness_n by_o the_o vain_a pretence_n set_v forth_o in_o this_o letter_n as_o after_o more_o plain_o follow_v h._n n._n 21._o oh_o how_o well_o shall_v they_o do_v which_o do_v now_o extol_v themselves_o before_o the_o simple_a and_o say_v that_o they_o be_v preacher_n of_o christ_n if_o they_o will_v first_o learn_v to_o know_v christ_n before_o they_o make_v themselves_o minister_n of_o he_o they_o will_v preach_v the_o word_n of_o christ_n and_o yet_o they_o have_v not_o according_a to_o the_o spirit_n see_v the_o fashion_n or_o shape_n of_o christ_n or_o hear_v of_o the_o same_o in_o any_o world_n they_o say_v the_o scripture_n witness_v unto_o we_o that_o we_o for_o christ_n cause_n shall_v forsake_v our_o life_n the_o which_o according_a to_o the_o truth_n be_v very_o true_a but_o the_o most_o part_n which_o speak_v so_o much_o thereof_o they_o themselves_o understand_v not_o the_o mind_n or_o meaning_n of_o god_n in_o that_o which_o the_o scripture_n say_v namely_o how_o that_o we_o must_v hate_v and_o forsake_v our_o own_o life_n or_o else_o we_o can_v be_v the_o disciple_n of_o christ._n therefore_o mark_v well_o thereupon_o &_o not_o only_o upon_o that_o but_o also_o upon_o all_o the_o witnessing_n of_o the_o scripture_n 22_o oh_o understand_v advise_o what_o i_o do_v write_v of_o the_o forsake_v of_o our_o own_o life_n when_o god_n have_v create_v the_o man_n than_o be_v the_o man_n in_o subjection_n to_o the_o life_n of_o god_n and_o not_o to_o his_o own_o life_n for_o thereunto_o god_n have_v create_v the_o man_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v of_o one_o life_n one_o be_v one_o spirit_n and_o of_o one_o nature_n with_o god_n but_o when_o the_o man_n desire_v in_o his_o hart_n to_o love_v some_o other_o thing_n beside_o the_o life_n of_o god_n namely_o the_o concupiscence_n of_o the_o sin_v then_o go_v he_o into_o his_o own_o life_n and_o contentation_n and_o forsake_v the_o life_n of_o god_n and_o live_v even_o so_o his_o own_o life_n and_o the_o life_n of_o the_o devil_n 23._o the_o while_n now_o that_o the_o office_n of_o christ_n have_v his_o ministration_n for_o to_o bring_v the_o man_n again_o unto_o god_n the_o father_n so_o can_v christ_n bring_v the_o man_n to_o the_o father_n unless_o that_o the_o man_n forsake_v his_o own_o life_n which_o he_o have_v live_v so_o long_o to_o the_o devil_n and_o to_o himself_o which_o be_v all_o that_o same_o wherein_o he_o have_v seek_v love_v &_o live_v to_o himself_o 24._o be_v not_o this_o now_o a_o great_a overshoot_n or_o misunderstand_v that_o the_o child_n of_o man_n can_v say_v and_o teach_v that_o christ_n mean_v hereby_o the_o natural_a or_o elementish_a man_n h._n a._n it_o have_v be_v well_o in_o deed_n if_o h._n n._n who_o so_o extoll_v himself_o before_o the_o simple_a &_o say_v that_o he_o be_v a_o preacher_n of_o christ_n yea_o god_v with_o god_n will_v first_o have_v learned_a to_o know_v christ_n before_o he_o have_v make_v himself_o a_o minister_n of_o he_o for_o now_o be_v ignorant_a of_o the_o principle_n of_o religion_n and_o a_o mere_a stranger_n from_o the_o life_n of_o god_n he_o have_v pervert_v all_o thing_n to_o his_o own_o and_o there_o man_n perdition_n witness_v this_o his_o corrupt_a doctrine_n about_o the_o forsake_v of_o our_o own_o life_n wherein_o he_o first_o and_o general_o seek_v to_o colour_v his_o iniquity_n with_o deceit_n and_o fraud_n for_o to_o persuade_v that_o we_o need_v not_o give_v our_o life_n our_o natural_a &_o elementish_a life_n for_o
