close_o more_o with_o he_o through_o the_o son_n look_v to_o the_o great_a god_n through_o the_o son_n of_o david_n look_v to_o he_o through_o that_o merciful_a and_o compassionate_a highpriest_n look_v more_o to_o god_n through_o christ_n and_o there_o rest_n five_o and_o last_o patient_o wait_v patient_o for_o he_o oh_o take_v up_o a_o resolution_n to_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n charge_v she_o away_o for_o she_o cry_v after_o we_o lord_n stop_v her_o mouth_n send_v she_o away_o give_v she_o a_o answer_n dispatch_v she_o for_o she_o cry_v after_o we_o and_o this_o be_v do_v say_v they_o that_o so_o the_o trial_n of_o this_o woman_n faith_n may_v be_v the_o great_a but_o i_o rather_o conceive_v that_o the_o disciple_n in_o these_o word_n do_v pray_v for_o she_o they_o do_v perform_v a_o office_n and_o duty_n of_o love_n in_o intercede_v with_o christ_n for_o she_o for_o first_o of_o all_o it_o seem_v they_o be_v very_o earnest_a in_o it_o they_o come_v and_o beseech_v disciple_n to_o present_v the_o condition_n of_o other_o unto_o the_o lord_n in_o prayer_n as_o well_o as_o their_o own_o doctrine_n we_o find_v that_o moses_n the_o servant_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v much_o in_o this_o work_n much_o in_o pray_v for_o other_o and_o intercede_v for_o israel_n upon_o every_o occasion_n he_o step_v in_o and_o plead_v with_o god_n for_o the_o people_n and_o so_o david_n in_o many_o of_o the_o psalm_n he_o present_v the_o condition_n of_o other_o unto_o the_o lord_n and_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n himself_o who_o be_v our_o great_a pattern_n be_v much_o in_o the_o performance_n of_o this_o duty_n john_n 17._o you_o shall_v â—nd_v there_o that_o the_o most_o part_n of_o the_o time_n that_o christ_n spend_v in_o prayer_n it_o be_v spend_v in_o pray_v mighty_o strengthen_v her_o faith_n she_o can_v never_o have_v hold_v up_o her_o head_n she_o will_v have_v conclude_v oh_o alas_o my_o estate_n and_o condition_n it_o be_v sad_a it_o be_v in_o vain_a for_o i_o to_o expect_v any_o salvation_n any_o mercy_n he_o be_v silent_a at_o my_o request_n and_o he_o give_v a_o denial_n when_o his_o disciple_n pray_v for_o i_o and_o if_o god_n will_v not_o hear_v his_o own_o people_n why_o then_o sure_o my_o condition_n be_v sad_a thus_o lay_v the_o temptation_n and_o yet_o the_o lord_n support_v this_o woman_n spirit_n so_o that_o we_o may_v observe_v this_o that_o god_n sometime_o do_v seem_v not_o only_o to_o be_v silent_a at_o the_o prayer_n of_o his_o people_n when_o they_o cry_v themselves_o 1._o but_o he_o give_v a_o denial_n when_o other_o the_o lord_n do_v expect_v from_o his_o people_n in_o time_n of_o affliction_n and_o temptation_n second_o i_o shall_v give_v you_o two_o or_o three_o instance_n for_o the_o proof_n of_o the_o point_n that_o it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o the_o saint_n thus_o to_o worship_n whatever_o the_o affliction_n or_o the_o temptation_n be_v and_o that_o both_o with_o internal_a worship_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o with_o external_n worship_n speak_v good_a word_n unto_o god_n and_o of_o god_n thus_o it_o be_v with_o job_n job_n look_v into_o job_n 1._o 20_o 21._o then_o job_n arise_v and_o rend_v his_o mantle_n and_o shave_v his_o head_n and_o fall_v down_o upon_o the_o ground_n and_o worship_v and_o say_v naked_a come_v i_o out_o of_o my_o mother_n womb_n and_o naked_a shall_v i_o return_v thither_o the_o lord_n give_v and_o the_o lord_n have_v take_v away_o bless_a be_v the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n job_n he_o be_v under_o great_a affliction_n at_o this_o time_n all_o his_o substance_n be_v take_v away_o a_o sad_a and_o unparalleled_a affliction_n and_o no_o doubt_n but_o it_o be_v a_o day_n of_o great_a temptation_n to_o job_n for_o that_o be_v the_o devil_n design_n to_o make_v job_n blaspheme_v god_n to_o his_o face_n and_o therefore_o without_o doubt_n satan_n do_v suggest_v horrible_a temptation_n or_o else_o he_o have_v not_o well_o prosecute_v his_o design_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v a_o day_n of_o affliction_n and_o a_o day_n of_o temptation_n job_n worship_v the_o lord_n express_v holy_a fear_n and_o reverence_n express_v love_n and_o express_v his_o trust_n his_o confidence_n and_o his_o submission_n and_o he_o pray_v and_o he_o praise_v he_o speak_v to_o god_n and_o he_o speak_v well_o of_o god_n all_o part_n of_o worship_n he_o fall_v down_o and_o worship_v and_o say_v the_o lord_n have_v give_v and_o the_o lord_n have_v take_v bless_a be_v the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o so_o david_n often_o meet_v with_o affliction_n and_o temptation_n david_n and_o yet_o you_o shall_v find_v he_o worship_v in_o divers_a of_o his_o psalm_n jonah_n yea_o look_v upon_o jonah_n and_o take_v jonah_n for_o a_o instance_n and_o o_o that_o god_n will_v make_v these_o his_o saint_n pattern_n to_o we_o jonah_n 2._o 2_o 3_o 4._o he_o be_v in_o a_o sad_a affliction_n and_o his_o affliction_n be_v accompany_v with_o temptation_n he_o be_v as_o low_a in_o his_o own_o imagination_n as_o if_o he_o have_v be_v in_o the_o belly_n of_o hell_n and_o yet_o even_o then_o when_o in_o the_o whale_n belly_n in_o the_o depth_n of_o these_o thing_n it_o be_v not_o speak_v of_o natural_a darkness_n the_o darkness_n that_o be_v of_o the_o air_n that_o be_v not_o create_v by_o god_n there_o be_v no_o create_v cause_n withdraw_v of_o in_o the_o inward_a man_n even_o as_o it_o be_v with_o the_o air_n at_o midnight_n darkness_n be_v of_o god_n create_v and_o therefore_o whenever_o the_o lord_n bring_v we_o into_o a_o state_n of_o darkness_n affliction_n and_o temptation_n either_o outward_a or_o inward_a it_o be_v time_n then_o to_o worship_v the_o lord_n second_o 2._o we_o shall_v then_o worship_v the_o lord_n in_o time_n of_o affliction_n and_o temptation_n for_o it_o be_v the_o lord_n only_o that_o can_v enable_v a_o man_n to_o bear_v temptation_n or_o affliction_n there_o be_v need_n i_o say_v that_o we_o shall_v army_n of_o the_o lord_n of_o host_n they_o go_v and_o they_o come_v at_o his_o command_n he_o give_v out_o the_o word_n and_o he_o bid_v affliction_n to_o charge_n and_o it_o charge_v and_o if_o he_o bid_v it_o to_o retreat_n it_o shall_v retreat_v god_n only_o can_v deliver_v from_o affliction_n and_o from_o temptation_n therefore_o sure_o it_o be_v our_o duty_n to_o worship_n in_o affliction_n and_o temptation_n five_o 5._o it_o be_v the_o end_n of_o all_o affliction_n and_o temptation_n to_o bring_v the_o soul_n near_o to_o god_n to_o drive_v the_o soul_n nigh_o god_n we_o be_v very_o prone_a to_o content_v ourselves_o to_o live_v at_o a_o distance_n from_o god_n before_o i_o be_v afflict_v i_o go_v astray_o say_v david_n psal_n 119._o 67._o now_o the_o end_n of_o affliction_n the_o thing_n we_o seek_v after_o the_o way_n to_o have_v ease_n and_o rest_n be_v to_o fall_v down_o and_o worship_n for_o by_o so_o do_v the_o soul_n do_v cast_v its_o burden_n upon_o the_o lord_n when_o it_o do_v thus_o fall_v down_o and_o worship_n with_o the_o worship_n of_o the_o spirit_n fear_n and_o love_n and_o trust_v now_o the_o soul_n cast_v its_o burden_n upon_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o burden_n be_v leave_v there_o it_o bring_v in_o unspeakable_a rest_n i_o say_v when_o the_o soul_n by_o inward_a worship_n have_v go_v to_o god_n and_o leave_v his_o burden_n upon_o the_o lord_n
