stretch_v upon_o the_o child_n apt_a to_o put_v life_n and_o quickness_n into_o every_o part_n of_o it_o and_o to_o make_v we_o live_v the_o life_n of_o grace_n and_o do_v the_o work_n of_o god_n i_o shall_v therefore_o by_o way_n of_o introduction_n reduce_v these_o three_o to_o practice_v and_o show_v how_o every_o christian_a may_v improve_v all_o and_o each_o of_o these_o to_o the_o advantage_n of_o piety_n in_o the_o whole_a course_n of_o his_o life_n that_o if_o he_o please_v to_o bear_v but_o one_o of_o they_o upon_o his_o spirit_n he_o may_v feel_v the_o benefit_n like_o a_o universal_a instrument_n helpful_a in_o all_o spiritual_a and_o temporal_a action_n sect_n i._o the_o first_o general_a instrument_n of_o holy_a live_n care_v of_o our_o time_n he_o that_o be_v choice_n of_o his_o time_n will_v also_o be_v choice_n of_o his_o company_n and_o choice_n of_o his_o action_n lest_o the_o first_o engage_v he_o in_o vanity_n and_o losle_n and_o the_o latter_a by_o be_v criminal_a be_v a_o throw_v his_o time_n and_o himself_o away_o and_o a_o go_v back_o in_o the_o account_n of_o eternity_n god_n have_v give_v to_o man_n a_o short_a time_n here_o upon_o earth_n and_o yet_o upon_o this_o short_a time_n eternity_n depend_v but_o so_o that_o for_o every_o hour_n of_o our_o life_n after_o we_o be_v person_n capable_a of_o law_n and_o know_v good_a from_o evil_n we_o must_v give_v account_n to_o the_o great_a judge_n of_o man_n and_o angel_n and_o this_o be_v it_o which_o our_o bless_a saviour_n tell_v we_o that_o we_o must_v account_v for_o every_o idle_a word_n not_o meaning_n that_o every_o word_n which_o be_v not_o design_v to_o edification_n or_o be_v less_o prudent_a shall_v be_v reckon_v for_o a_o sin_n but_o that_o the_o time_n which_o we_o spend_v in_o our_o idle_a talk_n and_o unprofitable_a discourse_n that_o time_n which_o may_v and_o ought_v to_o have_v be_v employ_v to_o spiritual_a and_o useful_a purpose_n that_o be_v to_o be_v account_v for_o for_o we_o must_v remember_v that_o we_o have_v a_o great_a work_n to_o do_v many_o enemy_n to_o conquer_v many_o evil_n to_o prevent_v much_o danger_n to_o run_v through_o many_o difficulty_n to_o be_v master_v many_o necessity_n to_o serve_v and_o much_o good_a to_o do_v many_o child_n to_o provide_v for_o or_o many_o friend_n to_o support_v oâ—_n many_o poor_a to_o relieve_v or_o many_o disease_n to_o cure_v beside_o the_o need_v of_o nature_n and_o of_o relation_n our_o private_a and_o our_o public_a care_n and_o duty_n of_o the_o world_n which_o necessity_n and_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n have_v adopt_v into_o the_o family_n of_o religion_n and_o that_o we_o need_v not_o fear_v this_o instrument_n to_o be_v a_o snare_n to_o we_o or_o that_o the_o duty_n must_v end_v in_o scruple_n vexation_n and_o eternal_a fear_n we_o must_v remember_v that_o the_o life_n of_o every_o man_n may_v be_v so_o order_v and_o indeed_o must_v that_o it_o may_v be_v a_o perpetual_a serve_v of_o god_n the_o great_a trouble_n and_o most_o busy_a trade_n and_o worldly_a encumbrance_n when_o they_o be_v necessary_a or_o charitable_a or_o profitable_a in_o order_n to_o any_o
