christ_n and_o holiness_n farewell_o my_o former_a sinful_a course_n and_o companion_n farewell_o my_o carnal_a peace_n ease_n and_o pleasure_n it_o be_v high_a time_n to_o mind_v the_o eternal_a welfare_n of_o my_o soul_n and_o to_o give_v up_o myself_o too_o god_n 7._o consider_v though_o sound_a repentance_n be_v never_o too_o late_o yet_o late_a repentance_n be_v seldom_o sound_a like_o untimely_a fruit_n it_o rare_o come_v to_o any_o perfection_n as_o may_v evident_o appear_v from_o the_o usual_a practice_n of_o such_o as_o recover_v of_o their_o sickness_n who_o in_o the_o time_n of_o affliction_n seem_v mighty_o trouble_v for_o their_o wicked_a life_n and_o outward_o bewail_v their_o sin_n cry_v out_o against_o they_o yea_o make_v many_o vow_n and_o promise_n of_o newness_n of_o life_n and_o better_a obedience_n profess_v for_o the_o time_n to_o come_v utter_o to_o renounce_v their_o former_a lewd_a course_n and_o to_o serve_v god_n in_o true_a holiness_n and_o righteousness_n all_o the_o remain_a part_n of_o their_o day_n yet_o be_v recover_v to_o their_o former_a health_n again_o forget_v the_o vow_n and_o promise_v they_o make_v in_o the_o time_n of_o their_o sickness_n with_o the_o dog_n they_o have_v return_v to_o their_o former_a vomit_n and_o with_o the_o sow_n wallow_v again_o in_o the_o filth_n of_o sin_n and_o mire_n of_o sinful_a filthiness_n embrace_v the_o same_o sin_n which_o they_o have_v former_o lament_v and_o so_o become_v worse_o than_o before_o it_o be_v the_o observation_n of_o that_o worthy_a divine_a mr._n robert_n bolton_n that_o he_o never_o know_v or_o hear_v of_o any_o man_n unwrought_a upon_o under_o conscionable_a mean_n who_o after_o recovery_n perform_v the_o vow_n and_o promise_n of_o a_o new_a life_n of_o thy_o heart_n how_o sad_a will_v thy_o condition_n be_v what_o if_o christ_n who_o have_v long_o be_v knock_v at_o the_o door_n of_o thy_o heart_n shall_v withdraw_v himself_o and_o never_o knock_v again_o sure_o as_o it_o be_v one_o of_o the_o great_a mercy_n that_o ever_o be_v vouchsafe_v to_o thou_o that_o jesus_n christ_n shall_v condescend_v to_o stand_v and_o knock_v at_o the_o door_n of_o thy_o heart_n so_o it_o will_v prove_v in_o the_o event_n the_o heavy_a judgement_n that_o ever_o befall_v thou_o if_o thou_o will_v not_o now_o open_a unto_o he_o but_o put_v he_o off_o
