aside_o of_o his_o own_o corrupt_a nature_n which_o be_v ever_o willing_a to_o take_v the_o large_a size_n and_o sometime_o by_o the_o mistake_n of_o other_o who_o have_v misapprehend_v his_o intention_n and_o make_v a_o evil_a construction_n of_o his_o action_n yet_o god_n hereby_o have_v make_v he_o more_o wise_a and_o circumspect_a hereupon_o he_o will_v advise_v to_o forbear_v a_o lawful_a recreation_n at_o some_o time_n and_o place_n rather_o then_o by_o the_o use_n of_o our_o christian_a liberty_n occasion_n the_o censure_n of_o any_o that_o be_v loose_a and_o large_a walk_n his_o action_n that_o so_o it_o may_v appear_v to_o himself_o and_o other_o that_o not_o his_o natural_a affection_n or_o the_o principle_n of_o fleshly_a wisdom_n and_o carnal_a policy_n but_o grace_n and_o the_o word_n of_o god_n have_v lead_v he_o forth_o to_o what_o he_o do_v he_o be_v wont_a to_o say_v that_o duty_n be_v we_o but_o the_o issue_n and_o success_n of_o thing_n belong_v to_o god_n we_o shall_v therefore_o study_v what_o our_o own_o duty_n be_v and_o leave_v the_o issue_n and_o success_n of_o of_o thing_n to_o god_n when_o one_o have_v desire_v his_o advice_n in_o a_o many_o grace_n that_o he_o be_v eminent_a for_o christ_n his_o live_n by_o faith_n on_o christ_n that_o which_o seem_v to_o be_v most_o eminent_a in_o he_o be_v his_o faith_n and_o live_n upon_o other_o act_n of_o worship_n zeal_n for_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n faith_n humility_n meekness_n patience_n submission_n to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n heavenly-mindedness_a charity_n and_o compassion_n to_o other_o and_o the_o like_a grace_n be_v not_o only_o to_o be_v find_v in_o he_o as_o they_o be_v more_o or_o less_o to_o be_v find_v in_o all_o the_o saint_n but_o they_o be_v elevate_v to_o a_o great_a height_n and_o bring_v up_o to_o a_o great_a and_o more_o peculiar_a eminency_n that_o be_v common_o find_v in_o most_o christian_n and_o there_o be_v such_o a_o special_a eminency_n in_o every_o grace_n as_o that_o it_o be_v hard_a to_o say_v which_o grace_n it_o be_v that_o he_o most_o excel_v in_o have_v thus_o walk_v with_o god_n many_o year_n age_n his_o bring_v forth_o more_o so_o the_o lord_n the_o better_a to_o prepare_v he_o for_o it_o have_v fasten_v the_o impression_n of_o his_o change_n upon_o he_o before_o it_o come_v when_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o place_n where_o he_o live_v come_v to_o visit_v he_o and_o say_v he_o hope_v he_o may_v recover_v he_o reply_v he_o know_v not_o how_o god_n may_v deal_v with_o he_o but_o he_o have_v receive_v the_o sentence_n of_o death_n in_o himself_o a_o little_a after_o the_o begin_n of_o his_o sickness_n he_o write_v to_o some_o of_o his_o near_a relation_n belove_v in_o the_o lord_n i_o be_o yet_o through_o mercy_n alive_a and_o continue_v sick_a my_o god_n deal_v bountiful_o with_o i_o who_o do_v acknowledge_v from_o my_o heart_n that_o i_o be_o a_o chief_a of_o sinner_n
yet_o have_v he_o pardon_v i_o and_o will_v ere_o long_o receive_v i_o to_o be_v with_o christ_n which_o be_v best_a of_o all_o pray_v for_o i_o that_o i_o may_v give_v god_n his_o due_a glory_n by_o believe_v and_o by_o holy_a submission_n and_o conformity_n to_o his_o will_n in_o life_n and_o death_n bless_a be_v god_n i_o have_v in_o my_o weak_a measure_n set_v my_o house_n in_o order_n etc._n say_v it_o be_v the_o grief_n of_o his_o soul_n that_o he_o can_v do_v no_o more_o for_o they_o his_o whole_a carriage_n during_o his_o sickness_n and_o at_o his_o death_n death_n his_o exemplary_a carriage_n at_o his_o death_n it_o be_v suitable_a to_o his_o life_n as_o he_o have_v live_v exemplary_o so_o he_o die_v exemplary_o the_o whole_a of_o his_o carriage_n at_o his_o death_n be_v as_o one_o who_o be_v a_o eye_n witness_n of_o it_o and_o be_v a_o judicious_a person_n express_v it_o as_o if_o it_o have_v be_v a_o study_a piece_n his_o great_a care_n be_v that_o grace_n may_v be_v see_v to_o act_v he_o at_o his_o death_n as_o his_o chief_a care_n have_v be_v to_o express_v it_o in_o his_o life_n he_o be_v natural_o a_o man_n of_o a_o timorous_a and_o fearful_a spirit_n but_o when_o he_o come_v to_o die_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n have_v so_o elevate_v he_o above_o his_o natural_a temper_n that_o he_o be_v not_o only_o willing_a to_o die_v but_o he_o triumph_v over_o death_n and_o be_v no_o more_o concern_v about_o it_o then_o only_o that_o grace_n may_v act_v he_o at_o his_o death_n as_o it_o have_v do_v in_o his_o life_n he_o delight_v not_o to_o speak_v much_o in_o the_o time_n of_o his_o sickness_n but_o for_o the_o most_o part_n his_o time_n be_v take_v up_o in_o a_o continue_a meditation_n yet_o something_o he_o speak_v to_o all_o that_o come_v to_o visit_v he_o and_o that_o which_o he_o speak_v it_o be_v usual_o comprise_v in_o some_o short_a sentence_n or_o other_o counsel_n his_o die_a speech_n and_o counsel_n his_o most_o usual_a word_n to_o all_o that_o come_v to_o he_o be_v this_o make_v sure_a of_o christ_n remember_v that_o one_o necessary_a thing_n at_o one_o time_n when_o some_o of_o the_o young_a sort_n be_v come_v about_o he_o he_o say_v make_v sure_a of_o christ_n and_o for_o encouragement_n i_o tell_v you_o that_o religion_n be_v no_o vain_a thing_n it_o be_v no_o notion_n it_o be_v a_o reality_n i_o tell_v you_o so_o from_o my_o own_o experience_n another_o time_n perceive_v some_o young_a one_o to_o be_v talk_v one_o to_o another_o in_o a_o familiar_a manner_n he_o say_v he_o know_v not_o what_o thy_o be_v talk_v about_o but_o commend_v their_o love_n only_o they_o shall_v be_v sure_a to_o speak_v something_o for_o the_o edify_a one_o of_o another_o and_o they_o shall_v have_v their_o speeck_n season_v with_o the_o salt_n of_o the_o word_n for_o the_o lord_n he_o hearken_v and_o hear_v and_o there_o be_v a_o book_n of_o remembrance_n write_v for_o they_o that_o fear_v he_o and_o thought_n upon_o his_o name_n at_o another_o time_n when_o there_o be_v a_o person_n of_o quality_n come_v to_o visit_v he_o he_o say_v hold_v on_o as_o you_o have_v begin_v make_v sure_a of_o christ_n if_o i_o have_v as_o much_o gold_n as_o will_v reach_v up_o to_o the_o sky_n it_o will_v do_v i_o no_o good_a my_o interest_n in_o christ_n be_v all_o my_o happiness_n another_o time_n his_o wife_n and_o child_n come_v his_o spirit_n sickness_n the_o inward_a peace_n and_o spiritual_a comfort_n which_o he_o have_v in_o his_o sickness_n neither_o be_v satan_n permit_v in_o the_o least_o to_o disturb_v his_o peace_n when_o a_o minister_n that_o come_v to_o visit_v he_o ask_v he_o whether_o he_o have_v any_o temptation_n he_o answer_v no_o bless_a be_v the_o lord_n the_o have_v none_o so_o that_o although_o all_o his_o life_n time_n he_o have_v be_v full_a of_o conflict_n yet_o when_o he_o come_v to_o die_v he_o have_v the_o most_o perfect_a serenity_n after_o he_o have_v be_v sick_a some_o week_n he_o write_v thus_o to_o a_o near_a relation_n i_o yet_o live_v through_o mercy_fw-mi and_o do_v continue_v weak_a but_o god_n deal_v very_o gentle_o with_o i_o for_o my_o outward_a affliction_n be_v tolerable_a
