best_a groan_n under_o they_o but_o some_o be_v almost_o smother_v with_o they_o to_o speak_v so_o and_o their_o grace_n almost_o suffocate_v with_o they_o habitual_a corruption_n be_v a_o fruitful_a womb_n and_o this_o be_v lively_a in_o some_o than_o in_o other_o and_o the_o same_o person_n be_v near_a god_n and_o in_o a_o lively_a frame_n and_o have_v more_o inward_a serenity_n and_o composure_n of_o spirit_n at_o one_o time_n than_o another_o and_o so_o be_v like_o a_o city_n with_o gate_n and_o bar_n at_o other_o time_n a_o man_n be_v at_o great_a distance_n from_o god_n and_o out_o of_o frame_n and_o then_o he_o be_v like_o a_o city_n break_v down_o and_o without_o wall_n and_o the_o heart_n be_v haunt_v with_o satyr_n and_o owl_n when_o the_o heart_n be_v in_o a_o ill_a frame_n it_o be_v like_o damp_n tinder_n to_o divine_a motion_n but_o it_o be_v like_o dry_a tinder_n to_o every_o spark_n of_o a_o temptation_n that_o come_v in_o by_o the_o sense_n or_o by_o rove_a imagination_n yea_o it_o take_v fire_n of_o its_o self_n and_o if_o it_o be_v not_o well_o watch_v will_v quick_o come_v to_o a_o flame_n indeed_o it_o be_v no_o easy_a task_n to_o keep_v out_o these_o there_o be_v so_o many_o several_a passage_n they_o come_v in_o at_o and_o they_o can_v creep_v in_o at_o a_o small_a rent_n or_o hole_n therefore_o there_o be_v need_n of_o the_o utmost_a by_o the_o object_n which_o they_o think_v last_o upon_o as_o for_o instance_n may_v be_v one_o under_o great_a sorrow_n intermingle_v with_o other_o thing_n some_o thought_n of_o sin_n and_o then_o raise_v affection_n and_o this_o be_v all_o the_o holiness_n and_o heaven_n too_o of_o some_o but_o here_o lie_v the_o deceit_n man_n look_v only_o to_o the_o immediate_a casual_a object_n of_o their_o act_n and_o not_o at_o all_o to_o the_o principle_n of_o they_o nay_o nor_o to_o the_o object_n that_o do_v at_o first_o excite_v these_o act_n viz_o some_o outward_a loss_n or_o some_o outward_a good_a i_o mean_v ordinary_o when_o therefore_o you_o will_v turn_v natural_a or_o worldly_a sorrow_n into_o spiritual_n and_o so_o with_o joy_n you_o must_v look_v well_o that_o there_o be_v a_o change_n not_o of_o the_o object_n only_o but_o in_o the_o very_a nature_n of_o the_o act_n or_o affection_n for_o the_o object_n alone_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o specify_v a_o action_n a_o mere_a change_n of_o the_o object_n will_v not_o render_v a_o natural_a affection_n or_o passion_n spiritual_n there_o may_v be_v much_o natural_a carnal_a joy_n in_o a_o spiritual_a and_o uppermost_a whether_o in_o the_o understanding_n or_o the_o will_n or_o the_o affection_n as_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n when_o the_o natural_a vigour_n of_o the_o soul_n especial_o of_o the_o affection_n be_v go_v or_o any_o way_n obstruct_v the_o act_n of_o grace_n in_o they_o be_v not_o so_o sensible_a and_o seem_v low_a and_o faint_a hence_o many_o age_a person_n and_o other_o be_v
