concern_v the_o personal_a be_v that_o he_o have_v do_v not_o rest_n upon_o itself_o but_o upon_o the_o person_n of_o the_o word_n as_o it_o exceed_v all_o the_o soul_n and_o celestial_a spirit_n in_o other_o grace_n so_o do_v it_o exceed_v they_o in_o holy_a humility_n be_v further_o off_o from_o give_v glory_n to_o itself_o and_o from_o rely_v upon_o itself_o than_o all_o those_o other_o put_v together_o and_o from_o this_o hart_n do_v that_o proceed_v which_o so_o often_o he_o most_o faithful_o preach_v to_o the_o world_n that_o he_o have_v receive_v his_o work_n and_o word_n from_o his_o holy_a poverty_n for_o of_o this_o it_o be_v understand_v bless_a 5._o bless_a wats_n 5._o be_v the_o poor_a in_o spirit_n for_o of_o they_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n and_o of_o this_o be_v believe_v that_o which_o s._n augustine_n say_v if_o thou_o ask_v i_o which_o be_v the_o way_n to_o heaven_n i_o shall_v answer_v thou_o humility_n and_o if_o thou_o ask_v i_o till_o the_o three_o time_n i_o shall_v answer_v thou_o the_o same_o and_o if_o thou_o ask_v i_o a_o thousand_o time_n a_o thousand_o time_n shall_v i_o answer_v that_o there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n this_o way_n i_o doubt_v much_o that_o protestant_n be_v then_o out_o of_o the_o way_n if_o it_o be_v but_o even_o for_o this_o but_o of_o humility_n chap._n lxiiii_o of_o a_o profitable_a exercise_n of_o know_v the_o be_v which_o we_o have_v in_o nature_n that_o by_o it_o we_o may_v obtain_v humility_n because_v ●ewes_v because_v i_o beseech_v you_o ponder_v well_o the_o four_o next_o chapter_n for_o they_o will_v te●l_v you_o ●ewes_v i_o think_v thou_o desire_v to_o obtain_v this_o holy_a humiliation_n of_o thyself_o whereby_o thou_o may_v become_v please_v to_o our_o lord_n i_o will_v say_v somewhat_o of_o the_o mean_n how_o thou_o may_v procure_v it_o and_o humility_n and_o the_o mean_n which_o be_v to_o be_v use_v for_o the_o procure_n of_o the_o holy_a virtue_n of_o humility_n let_v the_o first_o of_o they_o be_v to_o beg_v it_o with_o perseverance_n of_o he_o who_o be_v the_o giver_n of_o all_o good_a thing_n for_o it_o be_v a_o particular_a gift_n of_o he_o which_o he_o bestow_v upon_o his_o elect_a yea_o and_o the_o very_o know_v that_o it_o be_v a_o gift_n of_o god_n be_v no_o small_a favour_n they_o who_o be_v tempt_v with_o pride_n do_v well_o perceive_v that_o there_o be_v nothing_o further_o off_o from_o their_o own_o power_n than_o this_o true_a and_o profound_a humility_n and_o that_o it_o happen_v many_o time_n that_o by_o the_o same_o mean_n whereby_o they_o hope_v to_o obtain_v it_o they_o fly_v further_a from_o it_o and_o that_o by_o the_o very_a act_n of_o humiliate_a a_o man_n self_n the_o very_a contrary_n which_o be_v pride_n sometime_o do_v grow_v thou_o note_v thou_o note_v must_v therefore_o as_o i_o say_v in_o that_o discourse_n which_o i_o make_v before_o of_o chastity_n take_v in_o hand_n the_o obtain_v of_o this_o jewel_n in_o such_o sort_n as_o that_o neither_o thou_o give_v over_o thy_o endeavour_n by_o say_v what_o shall_v i_o get_v by_o strive_v for_o it_o since_o it_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n nor_o yet_o must_v thou_o put_v thy_o confidence_n in_o thy_o arm_n of_o flesh_n and_o blood_n but_o in_o he_o who_o be_v wont_a to_o grant_v his_o gift_n to_o who_o he_o give_v the_o grace_n to_o ask_v they_o by_o mean_n of_o prayer_n and_o other_o devout_a exercise_n the_o course_n than_o which_o thou_o be_v to_o hold_n shall_v be_v this_o consider_v these_o two_o thing_n in_o order_n the_o one_o a_o be_v the_o other_o a_o good_a and_o happy_a be_v as_o for_o the_o first_o thou_o be_v to_o think_v who_o thou_o be_v before_o god_n make_v thou_o and_o thou_o will_v find_v that_o thou_o be_v a_o profound_a pit_n of_o be_v nothing_o &_o a_o privation_n of_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a consider_v then_o how_o that_o mighty_a and_o sweet_a hand_n of_o god_n draw_v thou_o out_o of_o that_o profound_a abyss_n &_o place_v thou_o in_o the_o number_n of_o his_o creature_n give_v
