grace_n etc._n etc._n signify_v that_o he_o will_v vouchsafe_v unto_o his_o church_n under_o the_o gospel_n a_o more_o plentiful_a measure_n of_o his_o spirit_n that_o as_o they_o shall_v have_v more_o excellent_a and_o clear_a and_o powerful_a mean_n so_o they_o shall_v find_v a_o great_a blessing_n upon_o the_o use_n of_o those_o mean_n that_o whereas_o under_o the_o law_n they_o have_v but_o drop_n of_o grace_n distil_v easy_o &_o by_o little_a and_o little_a now_o they_o shall_v have_v whole_a bucket_n full_a as_o it_o be_v yea_o whole_a flood_n of_o grace_n pour_v down_o upon_o all_o sort_n of_o god_n servant_n by_o the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n be_v mean_v the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n and_o of_o regeneration_n so_o call_v both_o because_o it_o be_v give_v out_o of_o god_n fervent_a prayer_n unto_o the_o heaven_n do_v easy_o discern_v that_o they_o be_v but_o mere_a bragger_n and_n boaster_n and_o that_o indeed_o they_o never_o make_v one_o faithful_a prayer_n since_o they_o be_v bear_v because_o they_o be_v and_o still_o have_v be_v sensual_a and_o carnal_a and_o utter_o void_a of_o any_o sanctify_a grace_n of_o god_n spirit_n and_o therefore_o so_o far_o be_v they_o from_o have_v any_o cause_n of_o rejoice_v in_o regard_n of_o their_o good_a prayer_n as_o they_o call_v they_o that_o they_o have_v great_a cause_n to_o be_v humble_v for_o they_o as_o be_v work_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o not_o of_o the_o spirit_n such_o as_o do_v rather_o provoke_v the_o lord_n displeasure_n against_o they_o then_o pacify_v his_o anger_n or_o any_o way_n procure_v his_o favour_n towards_o they_o such_o be_v the_o prayer_n of_o all_o blind_a and_o ignorant_a papist_n who_o pray_v in_o a_o unknown_a tongue_n to_o who_o it_o may_v be_v say_v as_o it_o be_v by_o our_o truth_n he_o may_v just_o condemn_v they_o unto_o hell_n for_o the_o same_o and_o will_v do_v so_o if_o they_o be_v not_o humble_v for_o they_o as_o well_o as_o for_o the_o rest_n of_o their_o iniquity_n and_o therefore_o they_o that_o have_v indeed_o the_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n be_v of_o another_o mind_n for_o when_o they_o have_v use_v the_o best_a preparation_n that_o possible_o they_o can_v they_o find_v so_o many_o defect_n in_o their_o prayer_n that_o they_o be_v drive_v to_o make_v a_o new_a prayer_n for_o the_o pardon_v of_o those_o their_o want_n and_o be_v stir_v up_o hearty_o to_o praise_v the_o lord_n when_o they_o can_v in_o any_o poor_a measure_n pour_v out_o their_o soul_n before_o he_o as_o know_v that_o it_o be_v not_o from_o any_o strength_n that_o they_o but_o only_o a_o natural_a gift_n of_o utter_v that_o which_o be_v in_o our_o mind_n and_o memory_n in_o apt_a and_o fit_a term_n and_o in_o a_o fluent_a manner_n of_o speech_n therefore_o if_o we_o

neighbour_n &_o do_v no_o body_n any_o harm_n and_o they_o hope_v withal_o that_o their_o good_a word_n &_o prayer_n do_v deserve_v somewhat_o at_o god_n hand_n alas_o poor_a simple_a people_n they_o little_o consider_v what_o it_o be_v to_o make_v a_o good_a prayer_n for_o if_o they_o do_v they_o will_v go_v quite_o out_o of_o themselves_o unto_o christ_n jesus_n and_o labour_n for_o acceptance_n rather_o to_o ascribe_v it_o unto_o themselves_o for_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n do_v puff_n they_o up_o &_o make_v they_o conceit_v in_o themselves_o hereof_o there_o arise_v a_o great_a security_n which_o bring_v first_o neglect_n and_o after_o contempt_n of_o all_o good_a mean_n on_o the_o left_a hand_n other_o offend_v be_v never_o please_v nor_o content_v with_o that_o they_o have_v nay_o indeed_o forget_v or_o light_o esteem_v that_o they_o have_v and_o still_o desire_v new_a these_o man_n beside_o that_o they_o be_v unthankful_a they_o do_v also_o murmur_v &_o grudge_v against_o god_n and_o be_v never_o please_v with_o he_o between_o these_o two_o do_v the_o child_n of_o god_n hold_v a_o middle_n and_o even_a course_n and_o therefore_o we_o shall_v see_v these_o thing_n in_o they_o first_o a_o sight_n and_o acknowledgement_n of_o their_o want_n which_o cause_n they_o to_o long_o for_o the_o sincere_a milk_n of_o the_o word_n that_o thereby_o their_o want_n may_v be_v supply_v and_o their_o grace_n increase_v and_o so_o far_o be_v they_o from_o be_v lift_v up_o with_o pride_n that_o they_o rejoice_v when_o their_o pride_n may_v be_v pull_v down_o whether_o by_o rebuke_n or_o threaten_n or_o correction_n from_o the_o lord_n for_o they_o know_v that_o if_o paul_n need_v mean_n of_o humble_v 2._o cor._n 12._o much_o more_o do_v they_o beside_o as_o they_o our_o heart_n all_o which_o seem_v to_o be_v lose_v when_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v wither_v second_o all_o that_o peace_n and_o joy_n before_o speak_v of_o be_v go_v with_o how_o great_a grief_n and_o woe_n they_o know_v that_o in_o any_o measure_n have_v taste_v of_o it_o three_o for_o that_o time_n they_o have_v no_o heart_n to_o do_v good_a but_o be_v make_v unprofitable_a burden_n to_o the_o earth_n moreover_o such_o be_v in_o danger_n of_o fall_v into_o reproachful_a evil_n and_o so_o to_o procure_v the_o sharp_a correct_a hand_n of_o god_n upon_o themselves_o who_o comfort_n also_o for_o though_o we_o may_v suffer_v a_o great_a decay_n of_o god_n grace_n yet_o by_o the_o rod_n or_o by_o the_o word_n or_o by_o both_o they_o shall_v be_v renew_a in_o we_o again_o of_o murmur_v in_o the_o time_n of_o affliction_n many_o man_n hear_v of_o the_o often_o murmur_n of_o the_o israelite_n do_v judge_v they_o the_o worst_a people_n under_o the_o sun_n but_o such_o do_v little_a consider_v either_o the_o temptation_n whereby_o they_o be_v provoke_v to_o murmur_v or_o the_o corruption_n of_o their_o own_o heart_n which_o will_v as_o bitter_o murmur_v upon_o less_o occasion_n for_o albeit_o they_o be_v a_o obstinate_a and_o stiffnecked_a people_n yet_o herein_o they_o be_v vehement_o tempt_v that_o they_o come_v from_o plenty_n in_o egypt_n to_o scarcity_n in_o the_o wilderness_n have_v neither_o meat_n nor_o drink_n for_o all_o that_o multitude_n be_v six_o hundred_o thousand_o man_n beside_o woman_n and_o child_n wherefore_o let_v we_o cease_v to_o wonder_v at_o this_o people_n and_o in_o they_o see_v our_o own_o corruption_n for_o do_v not_o many_o among_o we_o behold_v the_o abundance_n which_o the_o lord_n have_v bestow_v upon_o
