say_v and_o do_v show_v themselves_o both_o by_o unbelief_n and_o by_o hinder_v we_o from_o do_v of_o that_o good_a that_o we_o will_v and_o cause_v we_o to_o do_v that_o evil_a that_o we_o will_v not_o another_o thing_n whereby_o our_o faith_n be_v assault_v and_o often_o weaken_v be_v the_o consideration_n of_o those_o manifold_a and_o grievous_a affliction_n which_o may_v and_z do_v befall_v we_o in_o this_o world_n whereby_o it_o may_v seem_v unto_o we_o that_o our_o way_n be_v not_o so_o acceptable_a unto_o the_o lord_n that_o we_o may_v have_v comfort_n in_o they_o for_o answer_v unto_o which_o he_o show_v that_o of_o what_o nature_n or_o kind_n soever_o they_o be_v they_o shall_v be_v so_o far_o from_o hinder_v we_o from_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n &_o from_o our_o salvation_n as_o that_o in_o they_o we_o have_v christ_n jesus_n who_o go_v before_o we_o in_o all_o our_o affliction_n further_o than_o we_o can_v and_o yet_o at_o the_o last_o come_v unto_o glory_n and_o therefore_o if_o we_o patient_o abide_v as_o we_o have_v not_o only_o the_o prophet_n and_o apostle_n &_o martyr_n and_o other_o holy_a man_n but_o even_o christ_n himself_o to_o be_v our_o wherein_o we_o may_v be_v so_o dishort_v by_o some_o great_a affliction_n and_o in_o such_o a_o case_n that_o be_v as_o it_o be_v astonish_v and_o overcome_v with_o the_o greatness_n and_o strangeness_n of_o it_o we_o can_v well_o tell_v what_o to_o pray_v or_o what_o to_o ask_v of_o god_n and_o though_o prayer_n at_o such_o a_o time_n especial_o be_v our_o only_a refuge_n according_a to_o the_o say_n of_o the_o prophet_n 50.25_o psal_n 50.25_o call_v upon_o i_o in_o the_o day_n of_o trouble_n so_o will_v i_o deliver_v thou_o yet_o we_o can_v tell_v how_o to_o begin_v and_o what_o to_o say_v and_o so_o unlike_a shall_v we_o be_v unto_o our_o father_n and_o to_o that_o that_o we_o have_v be_v in_o time_n past_a as_o though_o we_o be_v not_o the_o same_o nay_o our_o estate_n may_v seem_v to_o be_v like_a unto_o the_o wicked_a who_o be_v at_o their_o wit_n end_n and_o know_v not_o how_o to_o pray_v unto_o god_n at_o all_o for_o if_o we_o be_v ask_v then_o what_o we_o will_v have_v we_o can_v make_v a_o direct_a answer_n and_o though_o we_o have_v liberty_n to_o ask_v of_o god_n according_a to_o our_o need_n yet_o we_o can_v use_v it_o for_o we_o can_v tell_v what_o to_o pray_v o_o what_o a_o wonderful_a thing_n be_v this_o but_o yet_o most_o true_a and_o that_o which_o be_v to_o be_v find_v not_o in_o some_o few_o mean_a person_n only_o that_o be_v these_o most_o excellent_a servant_n of_o god_n in_o their_o great_a conflict_n and_o agony_n be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v able_a to_o pray_v unto_o god_n in_o any_o tolerable_a manner_n that_o in_o their_o own_o sense_n and_o feeling_n they_o do_v but_o roar_v &_o cry_v sob_n and_o sigh_v weep_v mourn_v and_o complain_v and_o that_o also_o very_o confuse_o even_o like_o the_o crane_n the_o swallow_n the_o pelican_n the_o sparrow_n even_o the_o shriek_n owl_n itself_o so_o distract_v be_v they_o in_o themselves_o and_o full_a of_o disorder_n and_o fall_v into_o so_o many_o great_a disorder_n at_o once_o therefore_o we_o may_v not_o judge_v of_o ourselves_o or_o of_o other_o by_o any_o one_o such_o accident_n or_o few_o particular_a case_n lest_o we_o shall_v deceive_v say_v 2d_o rom._n 8_o 2d_o also_o we_o know_v that_o all_o thing_n work_v together_o for_o the_o best_a to_o they_o that_o love_n god_n even_o to_o they_o that_o be_v call_v of_o his_o purpose_n in_o which_o word_n he_o minister_v this_o sovereign_a medicine_n against_o the_o contagion_n &_o poison_n of_o all_o affliction_n tell_v we_o that_o they_o come_v to_o the_o believer_n not_o for_o their_o hurt_n but_o for_o their_o singular_a good_a especial_o see_v they_o befall_v they_o not_o by_o fortune_n or_o chance_n but_o by_o the_o special_a providence_n of_o god_n and_o that_o for_o the_o same_o end_n who_o as_o he_o have_v choose_v they_o from_o everlasting_a so_o in_o the_o same_o counsel_n of_o his_o he_o ordain_v that_o they_o shall_v in_o their_o cross_n be_v like_a unto_o his_o son_n 29._o verse_n 29._o for_o those_o who_o he_o know_v before_o he_o also_o predestinate_a to_o be_v make_v like_o to_o the_o image_n of_o his_o son_n that_o he_o may_v be_v the_o first_o bear_v
