they_o be_v which_o then_o do_v now_o do_v and_o for_o ever_o will_v so_o provoke_v god_n and_o exasperate_v he_o that_o he_o will_v not_o spare_v and_o namely_o what_o be_v the_o sin_n which_o bring_v this_o miserable_a and_o inevitable_a captivity_n upon_o this_o people_n and_o which_o threaten_v the_o like_a judgement_n wheresoever_o find_v and_o therein_o two_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v consider_v viz._n the_o sin_n for_o their_o kind_n and_o the_o measure_n or_o proportion_n of_o they_o what_o their_o sin_n be_v will_v appear_v from_o the_o prophet_n send_v unto_o they_o to_o reprove_v they_o and_o threaten_v their_o captivity_n which_o be_v our_o prophet_n ezechiel_n nahum_n zephany_n habacuck_n and_o joel_n 11._o wherefore_o from_o their_o prophecy_n only_o and_o special_o of_o those_o two_o great_a and_o worthy_a prophet_n i_o will_v gather_v light_n to_o this_o purpose_n and_o from_o they_o prove_v what_o i_o shall_v deliver_v and_o that_o i_o and_o you_o may_v the_o more_o orderly_o proceed_v and_o better_o remember_v they_o i_o will_v range_v they_o in_o certain_a rank_n as_o first_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o priest_n and_o then_o of_o the_o people_n the_o sin_n of_o the_o priest_n either_o in_o regard_n method_n of_o their_o ministry_n or_o conversation_n the_o sin_n of_o the_o people_n be_v either_o the_o great_a as_o against_o the_o first_o table_n or_o lesser_a as_o against_o the_o second_o table_n the_o lay_v open_a of_o these_o thing_n will_v both_o declare_v the_o justice_n of_o god_n who_o will_v not_o be_v entreat_v to_o spare_v so_o sinful_a a_o people_n and_o also_o admonish_v all_o people_n to_o beware_v of_o such_o sin_n for_o fear_n of_o a_o like_a judgement_n and_o first_o note_n that_o judgement_n begin_v at_o god_n sanctuary_n 6._o and_o no_o marvel_n for_o there_o begin_v the_o corruption_n of_o all_o sort_n of_o man_n 15._o the_o prophet_n do_v most_o reprove_v and_o cry_v out_o against_o the_o priest_n who_o in_o their_o ministry_n first_o ministry_n be_v blind_a and_o ignorant_a it_o be_v true_a they_o be_v wonderful_o conceit_v of_o their_o learning_n and_o ignorant_n knowledge_n and_o like_a enough_o they_o have_v a_o great_a measure_n at_o least_o some_o of_o they_o of_o worldly_a wisdom_n and_o humane_a learning_n but_o they_o reject_v the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o then_o what_o wisdom_n be_v in_o they_o 9_o whereby_o it_o appear_v that_o howsoever_o the_o priest_n lip_n shall_v preserve_v the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n 7._o and_o god_n make_v his_o prophet_n seer_n and_o watchman_n to_o preserve_v the_o people_n from_o judgement_n to_o come_v by_o declare_v their_o sin_n and_o direct_v they_o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n yet_o before_o the_o captivity_n they_o general_o reject_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o be_v simple_a without_o any_o power_n to_o tell_v the_o people_n of_o their_o sin_n or_o give_v direction_n what_o course_n to_o take_v whereby_o to_o prevent_v ensue_a judgement_n second_o they_o deal_v false_o in_o their_o deal_n ministry_n which_o the_o lord_n complain_v of_o say_v if_o they_o have_v stand_v in_o my_o counsel_n and_o declare_v my_o word_n to_o my_o people_n then_o shall_v they_o have_v turn_v they_o from_o their_o evil_a way_n 22._o and_o the_o prophet_n bewail_v this_o fault_n thy_o prophet_n have_v not_o discover_v thy_o iniquity_n to_o turn_v away_o thy_o captivity_n 14._o but_o give_v themselves_o to_o serve_v the_o time_n and_o please_v man_n flatter_a and_o say_v peace_n peace_n 14._o building_n and_o daub_v with_o untempered_a mortar_n 11._o they_o tell_v the_o people_n all_o be_v well_o and_o that_o they_o shall_v see_v neither_o sword_n nor_o famine_n nor_o any_o evil_n 13._o and_o if_o any_o one_o deal_v more_o faithful_o with_o the_o people_n show_v their_o sin_n and_o labour_v to_o touch_v their_o conscience_n and_o to_o humble_v they_o that_o so_o they_o may_v prevent_v the_o judgement_n as_o jeremy_n ezechiel_n and_o some_o other_o do_v those_o wicked_a priest_n and_o prophet_n be_v angry_a and_o assure_v the_o people_n they_o do_v but_o terrify_v and_o discourage_v they_o without_o cause_n all_o be_v well_o yea_o that_o false_a prophet_n hananiah_n take_v away_o the_o yoke_n which_o by_o god_n command_n jeremy_n do_v wear_v whereby_o to_o signify_v their_o captivity_n and_o break_v it_o &_o prophesy_v false_o thus_o within_o two_o year_n will_v god_n break_v the_o yoke_n of_o nabuchadnezzar_a king_n of_o babylon_n 10._o yea_o pashur_n can_v not_o hold_v his_o hand_n but_o smite_v jeremy_n and_o put_v he_o in_o the_o stock_n 1._o and_o as_o they_o be_v corrupt_a in_o their_o ministry_n profane_a and_o enemy_n to_o such_o as_o be_v faithful_a so_o be_v they_o most_o profane_a in_o their_o life_n and_o conversation_n be_v carnal_a and_o earthly_a mind_v from_o the_o least_o to_o the_o great_a every_o one_o be_v give_v to_o covetousness_n and_o from_o the_o prophet_n to_o the_o priest_n every_o one_o do_v deal_v false_o 10._o and_o again_o both_o prophet_n and_o priest_n be_v profane_a yea_o in_o my_o house_n have_v i_o find_v their_o wickedness_n say_v the_o lord_n 11._o whereas_o god_n tell_v baruch_n that_o which_o i_o have_v build_v i_o will_v break_v down_o and_o that_o which_o i_o have_v plant_v i_o will_v pluck_v up_o even_o this_o whole_a land_n and_o seek_v thou_o great_a thing_n for_o thyself_o seek_v they_o not_o jer._n 45._o 4._o as_o this_o be_v the_o great_a corruption_n of_o the_o priest_n and_o false_a prophet_n so_o the_o people_n do_v exceed_o further_o it_o and_o increase_v it_o in_o they_o for_o first_o they_o approve_v and_o like_v well_o of_o flattery_n so_o the_o lord_n himself_o say_v
