god_n and_o either_o believe_v nothing_o of_o the_o immortality_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o so_o take_v not_o himself_o concern_v to_o care_n for_o that_o or_o at_o least_o have_v a_o faint_a belief_n and_o a_o imperfect_a notion_n of_o it_o but_o the_o renew_a man_n have_v his_o understanding_n open_v to_o discern_v more_o excellent_a thing_n he_o easy_o see_v that_o god_n be_v the_o chief_a good_a and_o thence_o conclude_v as_o rational_o that_o the_o happiness_n of_o man_n must_v needs_o consist_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n in_o union_n and_o communion_n with_o he_o as_o the_o heathen_n determine_v that_o the_o happiness_n of_o a_o man_n must_v necessary_o lie_v in_o the_o fruition_n of_o and_o a_o union_n with_o the_o summum_fw-la bonum_fw-la the_o great_a good_a this_o this_o order_n we_o indeed_o usual_o say_v the_o will_n be_v a_o blind_a faculty_n and_o follow_v the_o dictate_v of_o the_o understanding_n but_o since_o the_o fall_n man_n be_v so_o much_o mancipate_v and_o enslave_v to_o his_o sensual_a appetite_n that_o we_o see_v in_o daily_a experience_n it_o do_v not_o the_o drunkard_n the_o unclean_a person_n be_v daily_a proof_n of_o it_o who_o know_v well_o enough_o that_o the_o prosecution_n of_o their_o lust_n in_o those_o thing_n do_v not_o only_o destroy_v their_o contrary_a moral_a habit_n but_o ruin_v their_o life_n health_n reputation_n yet_o can_v forbear_v the_o pursuit_n of_o they_o but_o the_o will_n be_v thus_o renew_v to_o choose_v the_o best_a spiritual_a good_a the_o affection_n move_v in_o a_o natural_a order_n after_o it_o and_o the_o outward_a man_n be_v command_v to_o all_o action_n pursuant_n to_o it_o so_o that_o i_o say_v this_o renovation_n of_o the_o whole_a man_n according_a to_o the_o image_n of_o god_n be_v the_o true_a cause_n of_o the_o soul_n willingness_n and_o earnest_a desire_n after_o these_o near_a degree_n of_o communion_n with_o god_n the_o understanding_n be_v thus_o full_o enlighten_v to_o discern_v that_o god_n be_v the_o chief_a good_a and_o that_o man_n great_a happiness_n must_v lie_v in_o a_o union_n with_o he_o and_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o 2._o to_o which_o i_o justify_v soul_n but_o have_v in_o some_o measure_n taste_v how_o good_a the_o lord_n be_v and_o how_o good_a a_o fellowship_n and_o communion_n with_o god_n be_v so_o as_o it_o do_v but_o move_v persuaseris_fw-la etiamsi_fw-la persuaseris_fw-la you_o shall_v not_o persuade_v man_n and_o woman_n though_o you_o say_v enough_o to_o persuade_v they_o though_o you_o shut_v up_o their_o mouth_n
