raise_v that_o doubt_n of_o god_n favour_n which_o now_o diverse_o distract_v you_o remember_v i_o pray_v you_o how_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n call_v he_o the_o tempter_n the_o deceiver_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o accuser_n of_o the_o faithful_a the_o dragon_n and_o old_a serpent_n a_o liar_n and_o the_o father_n of_o lie_n by_o which_o epithet_n and_o description_n you_o may_v consider_v his_o power_n his_o malice_n and_o his_o craft_n to_o deceive_v and_o to_o abuse_v you_o never_o before_o acquaint_v with_o his_o practice_n as_o at_o this_o present_a you_o have_v experience_n of_o and_o not_o take_v all_o that_o your_o mind_n conceive_v of_o any_o manner_n of_o impiety_n whatsoever_o to_o be_v from_o you_o but_o from_o satan_n who_o as_o he_o have_v power_n to_o tempt_v and_o to_o try_v to_o cast_v before_o you_o these_o stumble_a block_n whereat_o he_o will_v have_v you_o fall_v so_o have_v he_o no_o power_n to_o fasten_v they_o upon_o your_o mind_n and_o to_o give_v they_o settel_v your_o own_o conscience_n bear_v you_o witness_v how_o much_o repugnant_a they_o be_v to_o your_o desire_n the_o rather_o be_v you_o to_o account_v they_o as_o from_o he_o because_o they_o be_v such_o as_o be_v altogether_o contrary_a to_o your_o former_a conversation_n &_o whereto_o you_o have_v feel_v your_o nature_n incline_v before_o and_o such_o as_o have_v no_o the_o spirit_n and_o wait_v the_o happy_a end_n of_o the_o conflict_n with_o patience_n and_o account_v not_o these_o small_a veny_n of_o satan_n for_o deadly_a wound_n which_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o practice_n &_o exercise_n of_o your_o spiritual_a courage_n &_o circumspection_n &_o introduction_n to_o that_o use_n of_o the_o whole_a armour_n of_o god_n where_o against_o no_o force_n of_o the_o enemy_n shall_v prevail_v though_o the_o attempt_n seem_v to_o be_v full_a of_o peril_n and_o terror_n but_o you_o say_v you_o feel_v small_a strength_n of_o faith_n and_o no_o support_n of_o that_o hope_n which_o make_v not_o ashamed_a beware_v lest_o you_o judge_v unjust_o of_o the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o esteem_v that_o for_o small_a which_o be_v great_a and_o vile_a which_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n be_v most_o precious_a for_o herein_o the_o enemy_n may_v take_v encouragement_n to_o your_o great_a disadvantage_n you_o feel_v not_o that_o taste_n thereof_o you_o sometime_o feel_v and_o do_v you_o judge_v therefore_o you_o be_v bereve_v utterlie_o thereof_o what_o consider_v the_o soul_n be_v now_o sick_a and_o dista_v much_o wholesome_a meat_n of_o consolation_n and_o loathe_v many_o pleasant_a and_o fragrant_a cup_n of_o comfort_n and_o counsel_n and_o yet_o the_o endeavour_n of_o god_n child_n in_o this_o behalf_n and_o the_o sweet_a water_n of_o heavenly_a comfort_n be_v not_o therefore_o of_o themselves_o bitter_a or_o unsavoury_a so_o you_o be_v not_o to_o measure_v the_o absence_n of_o this_o grace_n by_o that_o you_o present_o but_o by_o that_o in_o time_n past_a while_o the_o soul_n stand_v free_a from_o this_o disease_n of_o temptation_n &_o trial_n you_o have_v feel_v of_o comfort_n in_o the_o spirit_n through_o a_o acceptable_a measure_n of_o faith_n according_a to_o the_o dispensation_n of_o god_n grace_n and_o not_o according_a to_o our_o fancy_n but_o as_o he_o shall_v think_v meet_a to_o be_v minister_v unto_o us._n neither_o be_v the_o trial_n of_o faith_n only_o to_o be_v take_v according_a as_o the_o soul_n feel_v it_o in_o itself_o but_o also_o and_o sometime_o as_o in_o such_o temptation_n as_o these_o wherein_o you_o now_o travail_v only_o by_o the_o course_n and_o trade_n of_o life_n which_o have_v pass_v before_o and_o those_o fruit_n which_o be_v evident_a to_o the_o eye_n of_o other_o who_o can_v judge_v more_o sincere_o than_o the_o afflict_a who_o understandinge_n be_v somewhat_o alter_v through_o satan_n terror_n but_o again_o you_o say_v the_o course_n of_o life_n past_a and_o your_o estate_n present_a have_v nothing_o answer_v the_o holiness_n of_o your_o vocation_n and_o that_o sincerity_n the_o lord_n require_v so_o that_o here_o also_o the_o comfort_n fail_v you_o what_o then_o be_v you_o therefore_o reprobate_a no_o but_o it_o argue_v want_v of_o faith_n not_o so_o but_o place_n for_o far_a increase_n of_o faith_n and_o the_o fruit_n thereof_o those_o who_o the_o lord_n have_v choose_v to_o be_v his_o worshipper_n and_o have_v redeem_v and_o consecrate_v holy_a to_o himself_o and_o prepare_v good_a work_n for_o they_o to_o walk_v in_o
