fidelity_n and_o usefulness_n in_o several_a way_n to_o be_v their_o design_n and_o it_o be_v admirable_a to_o think_v what_o degree_n of_o eminency_n in_o all_o sort_n of_o moral_a virtue_n upon_o this_o one_o principle_n of_o moderate_v the_o affection_n even_o many_o among_o the_o heathen_n attain_v unto_o but_o as_o unto_o their_o aversation_n from_o god_n and_o spiritual_a thing_n in_o the_o true_a spiritual_a notion_n of_o they_o they_o be_v not_o cure_v by_o this_o change_n at_o least_o this_o change_n may_v be_v and_o yet_o this_o latter_a not_o be_v wrought_v again_o this_o alteration_n do_v but_o turn_v the_o course_n or_o stream_n of_o man_n affection_n it_o do_v not_o change_v the_o nature_n of_o they_o they_o be_v the_o same_o in_o their_o spring_n and_o fountain_n as_o ever_o they_o be_v only_o they_o be_v habituate_v unto_o another_o course_n than_o what_o of_o themselves_o they_o be_v incline_v unto_o you_o may_v take_v a_o young_a whelp_n of_o the_o most_o fierce_a and_o savage_a creature_n as_o of_o a_o tiger_n or_o a_o wolf_n and_o by_o custom_n or_o usage_n make_v it_o as_o tame_v and_o harmless_a as_o any_o domestic_a creature_n a_o dog_n or_o the_o like_a but_o although_o it_o may_v be_v turn_v unto_o quite_o another_o way_n or_o course_n of_o act_v than_o what_o it_o be_v of_o itself_o incline_v unto_o yet_o its_o nature_n be_v not_o change_v and_o desirable_a in_o nature_n the_o glory_n of_o it_o and_o the_o utmost_a of_o its_o attainment_n he_o who_o have_v by_o any_o mean_v proceed_v unto_o such_o a_o moderation_n of_o his_o affection_n as_o to_o render_v he_o kind_n benign_a patient_a useful_a prefer_v public_a good_a before_o private_a inordinate_a and_o temperate_a in_o all_o thing_n will_v rise_v up_o in_o judgement_n against_o those_o who_o profess_v themselves_o to_o be_v under_o the_o conduct_n of_o the_o light_n of_o grace_n do_v yet_o by_o be_v morose_n angry_a selfish_a worldly_a manifest_a that_o their_o affection_n the_o wrath_n of_o god_n from_o heaven_n against_o the_o ungodliness_n of_o man_n but_o they_o be_v not_o draw_v to_o take_v shelter_n in_o thought_n of_o spiritual_a thing_n nothing_o but_o hell_n will_v awaken_v they_o unto_o a_o due_a consideration_n of_o themselves_o and_o thing_n eternal_a it_o be_v otherwise_o with_o the_o generality_n of_o man_n who_o be_v not_o profligate_v and_o impudent_a in_o sin_v for_o although_o they_o be_v in_o a_o natural_a condition_n and_o a_o course_n of_o sin_n in_o the_o neglect_n of_o know_a duty_n yet_o by_o one_o mean_n or_o other_o most_o frequent_o by_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o word_n their_o affection_n be_v stir_v towards_o heavenly_a thing_n sometime_o they_o be_v afraid_a sometime_o they_o have_v hope_n and_o desire_n about_o they_o these_o put_v they_o on_o resolution_n and_o some_o temporary_a endeavour_n to_o change_v their_o life_n to_o abstain_v from_o sin_n and_o to_o perform_v holy_a duty_n but_o as_o the_o prophet_n complain_v their_o goodness_n be_v as_o the_o morning_n cloud_n and_o as_o the_o early_a dew_n so_o pass_v it_o away_o yet_o by_o mean_n hereof_o do_v many_o poor_a ignorant_a soul_n deceive_v themselves_o and_o cry_v peace_n peace_n when_o there_o be_v no_o peace_n and_o they_o will_v sometime_o so_o express_v how_o they_o be_v affect_v with_o complaint_n of_o themselves_o as_o difficulty_n unto_o spiritual_a light_n to_o distinguish_v between_o these_o occasional_a impression_n on_o the_o affection_n and_o that_o spiritual_a renovation_n of_o they_o which_o we_o inquire_v after_o this_o alone_a be_v sufficient_a to_o do_v it_o that_o they_o be_v all_o of_o they_o temporary_a and_o evanid_a they_o abide_v for_o a_o while_n only_o as_o our_o saviour_n speak_v and_o every_o occasion_n defeat_v all_o their_o efficacy_n they_o may_v be_v frequent_o renew_v but_o they_o never_o abide_v some_o of_o they_o immediate_o pass_v away_o and_o be_v utter_o lose_v between_o the_o place_n where_o they_o hear_v the_o word_n and_o their_o own_o habitation_n and_o in_o vain_a shall_v they_o inquire_v after_o they_o again_o they_o be_v go_v for_o ever_o some_o have_v a_o
