the_o efficacy_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o they_o to_o rule_v they_o shall_v not_o have_v benefit_n by_o his_o death_n to_o reconcile_v they_o for_o these_o go_v always_o together_o christ_n as_o a_o all_o the_o angel_n and_o all_o man_n because_o the_o divine_a nature_n be_v near_a to_o christ_n than_o it_o be_v to_o the_o angel_n or_o to_o any_o creature_n 2._o christ_n have_v the_o spirit_n without_o measure_n both_o in_o regard_n of_o extension_n and_o intention_n as_o we_o say_v he_o have_v all_o grace_n in_o all_o degree_n even_o next_o to_o a_o infinite_a all_o other_o have_v it_o i_o to_o think_v that_o god_n will_v be_v so_o favourable_a to_o such_o a_o wretch_n to_o such_o a_o lump_n of_o sin_n as_o i_o be_o be_v it_o not_o that_o god_n the_o son_n have_v satisfy_v god_n the_o father_n god_n have_v satisfy_v god_n and_o the_o spirit_n certify_v my_o conscience_n so_o the_o spirit_n that_o search_v the_o deep_a thing_n of_o god_n that_o know_v whâ—â—_n love_n be_v in_o the_o breast_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o he_o search_v the_o heart_n he_o search_v the_o heart_n of_o god_n and_o he_o search_v my_o spirit_n except_o the_o spirit_n shall_v tell_v i_o that_o god_n the_o son_n have_v satisfy_v and_o god_n the_o father_n will_v accept_v of_o the_o satisfaction_n of_o god_n the_o son_n i_o shall_v never_o bleeve_v it_o therefore_o god_n must_v establish_v the_o entangle_v himself_o with_o desperate_a thought_n but_o when_o the_o spirit_n be_v bring_v to_o speak_v peace_n to_o the_o soul_n in_o christ_n and_o make_v the_o soul_n to_o cast_v itself_o on_o he_o for_o salvation_n than_o god_n spirit_n be_v above_o the_o conscience_n though_o conscience_n be_v above_o all_o thing_n else_o yet_o god_n be_v above_o conscience_n and_o can_v still_o the_o phrase_n of_o scripture_n be_v too_o weighty_a to_o fasten_v such_o a_o shallow_a sense_n upon_o they_o only_o as_o to_o entreat_v they_o to_o be_v convert_v as_o a_o man_n will_v entreat_v a_o stone_n to_o be_v warm_a and_o to_o come_v out_o of_o its_o place_n he_o may_v entreat_v long_o enough_o but_o the_o spirit_n with_o that_o speech_n it_o put_v a_o new_a life_n and_o power_n and_o then_o act_n and_o stir_v that_o power_n to_o all_o that_o be_v good_a object_n oh_o say_v they_o which_o be_v their_o main_a objection_n here_o be_v a_o prejudice_n to_o the_o liberty_n of_o the_o will_n this_o be_v to_o overthrow_v the_o nature_n of_o man_n answ._n oh_o by_o no_o mean_n this_o be_v no_o prejudice_n to_o the_o liberty_n of_o the_o will_n freedom_n for_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v so_o wise_a a_o agent_n that_o he_o work_v upon_o the_o soul_n preserve_v the_o principle_n of_o a_o man_n it_o alter_v the_o judgement_n by_o present_v great_a reason_n and_o further_a light_n than_o it_o see_v before_o and_o then_o it_o alter_v the_o will_n that_o we_o will_v contrary_v to_o that_o we_o do_v before_o by_o present_v to_o the_o will_v great_a reason_n to_o be_v good_a than_o ever_o it_o have_v to_o be_v ill_o before_o then_o the_o soul_n choose_v free_o of_o its_o own_o will_v any_o thing_n when_o it_o do_v it_o upon_o discovery_n of_o light_n and_o reason_n with_o advisement_n and_o reason_n than_o the_o soul_n do_v thing_n free_o when_o iâ—_n do_v they_o upon_o the_o designment_n of_o reason_n when_o judgement_n tell_v i_o this_o be_v good_a now_o when_o the_o spirit_n change_v the_o soul_n it_o present_v such_o strong_a reason_n to_o come_v out_o of_o that_o curse_a estate_n i_o be_o in_o and_o to_o come_v to_o the_o bless_a estate_n in_o christ_n that_o the_o will_v present_o follow_v that_o that_o the_o understanding_n present_v as_o the_o chief_a good_a of_o all_o here_o the_o freedom_n be_v preserve_v because_o the_o will_n be_v so_o stir_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n as_o that_o it_o stir_v itself_o be_v stir_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o upon_o this_o ground_n it_o see_v a_o better_a good_a so_o that_o grace_n take_v not_o away_o liberty_n no_o it_o stablish_v liberty_n though_o we_o hold_v that_o in_o effectual_a grace_n the_o spiriâ—_n of_o god_n work_v upon_o the_o soul_n thorough_o yet_o notwithstanding_o we_o preserve_v liberty_n because_o we_o say_v that_o the_o soul_n work_v of_o its_o own_o principle_n notwithstanding_o grace_v because_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n act_n work_v and_o lead_v the_o soul_n according_a to_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o soul_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n preserve_v thing_n in_o the_o manner_n of_o do_v of_o thing_n it_o be_v the_o manner_n of_o do_v of_o the_o reasonable_a creature_n to_o do_v thing_n free_o therefore_o the_o spirit_n work_v upon_o the_o soul_n it_o preserve_v that_o modus_fw-la though_o it_o work_v effectual_o upon_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o more_o effectual_o it_o work_v upon_o the_o soul_n the_o more_o free_a the_o soul_n be_v because_o it_o see_v reason_n to_o do_v good_a therefore_o the_o more_o we_o give_v to_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o question_n of_o grace_n and_o nature_n the_o more_o we_o establish_v liberty_n and_o prejudice_n it_o not_o liberty_n where_o these_o three_o or_o four_o rule_n be_v observe_v there_o liberty_n be_v preserve_v though_o there_o be_v a_o mighty_a work_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n as._n first_o reason_n where_o the_o will_n choose_v and_o make_v choice_n and_o incline_v to_o a_o thing_n with_o the_o advisement_n of_o reason_n always_o that_o must_v be_v or_o else_o it_o be_v not_o a_o humane_a action_n now_o when_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n set_v the_o will_n at_o liberty_n a_o man_n do_v that_o he_o do_v with_o full_a advisement_n of_o reason_n for_o though_o god_n work_v upon_o the_o will_v it_o be_v with_o enlighten_v of_o the_o understanding_n at_o the_o same_o time_n and_o all_o grace_n in_o the_o will_n come_v through_o the_o understanding_n as_o all_o heat_n upon_o inferior_a thing_n it_o come_v with_o light_n light_n so_o that_o though_o heat_n cherish_v the_o earth_n it_o come_v with_o light_n so_o all_o the_o work_n upon_o the_o soul_n be_v by_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o spirit_n but_o it_o come_v from_o the_o light_n of_o the_o understanding_n so_o the_o freedom_n of_o the_o soul_n be_v preserve_v because_o it_o be_v with_o light_n again_o where_o freedom_n be_v side_n there_o be_v a_o power_n to_o apprehend_v other_o thing_n as_o well_o as_o that_o it_o do_v to_o reason_n on_o both_o side_n i_o may_v do_v this_o or_o that_o for_o that_o power_n to_o reason_n on_o both_o side_n be_v proper_a to_o the_o soul_n always_o now_o grace_n take_v not_o always_o that_o power_n to_o reason_n on_o both_o side_n for_o when_o a_o man_n be_v set_v at_o liberty_n from_o the_o base_a slavery_n of_o ill_a to_o do_v good_a he_o can_v reason_v with_o himself_o i_o may_v have_v do_v this_o and_o that_o if_o i_o will_v be_v damn_v so_o that_o the_o judgement_n be_v not_o bind_v to_o one_o thing_n only_o but_o the_o judgement_n tell_v he_o he_o may_v have_v do_v otherwise_o if_o he_o will_v but_o he_o see_v he_o must_v do_v this_o if_o he_o will_v not_o be_v damn_v again_o where_o there_o be_v liberty_n thing_n and_o freedom_n there_o be_v a_o enlargement_n to_o understand_v more_o thing_n than_o one_o or_o else_o there_o be_v no_o freedom_n and_o though_o the_o soul_n be_v determine_v to_o choose_v one_o thing_n and_o not_o many_o yet_o of_o itself_o it_o have_v power_n to_o choose_v many_o thing_n to_o make_v this_o clear_a a_o little_a some_o creature_n be_v confine_v to_o one_o thing_n out_o of_o the_o narrowness_n of_o the_o part_n they_o nest_n and_o bee_n make_v their_o hive_n always_o after_o one_o manner_n because_o of_o their_o narrowness_n that_o they_o have_v not_o choice_n now_o when_o the_o spirit_n set_v a_o man_n at_o liberty_n to_o holy_a thing_n he_o be_v confine_v to_o good_a especial_a this_o be_v in_o heaven_n this_o be_v out_o of_o largeness_n of_o understanding_n apprehend_v many_o good_n and_o many_o ill_n and_o that_o good_a that_o he_o conceive_v to_o be_v the_o best_a good_a out_o of_o a_o large_a understanding_n he_o be_v determine_v to_o that_o one_o so_o that_o though_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n take_v away_o as_o it_o be_v that_o present_a liberty_n that_o a_o man_n can_v do_v ill_o it_o will_v not_o suffer_v he_o to_o be_v so_o bad_a as_o he_o be_v yet_o it_o leave_v he_o in_o a_o state_n of_o good_a to_o do_v a_o multitude_n of_o good_a thing_n and_o then_o though_o it_o confine_v he_o to_o a_o state_n of_o happiness_n that_o he_o can_v will_v the_o contrary_a yet_o here_o be_v no_o reason_n they_o be_v determine_v eternal_o to_o that_o that_o be_v good_a be_v it_o for_o want_v of_o understanding_n that_o the_o angel_n choose_v not_o ill_a no_o good_a they_o know_v what_o ill_o be_v by_o speculation_n but_o there_o be_v a_o strength_n of_o understanding_n to_o know_v that_o that_o be_v good_a and_o the_o understanding_n where_o it_o have_v a_o full_a light_n it_o carry_v the_o will_n to_o choose_v therefore_o where_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v there_o be_v liberty_n notwithstanding_o all_o objection_n to_o the_o contrary_a the_o spirit_n take_v
where_o these_o outward_a liberty_n be_v it_o be_v a_o sign_n that_o god_n have_v a_o intendment_n to_o set_v man_n at_o spiritual_a liberty_n those_o therefore_o that_o be_v enemy_n of_o the_o because_o they_o be_v enemy_n of_o that_o whereby_o spiritual_a liberty_n be_v preserve_v therefore_o the_o gospel_n be_v set_v out_o by_o that_o phrase_n why_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n not_o only_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n set_v up_o in_o our_o heart_n the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o spirit_n but_o likewise_o where_o the_o gospel_n be_v preach_v there_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n why_o a_o sweet_a sign_n of_o a_o man_n spiritual_o set_v at_o liberty_n bring_v out_o of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o satan_n liberty_n and_o free_v from_o the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n and_o from_o the_o dominion_n of_o sin_n which_o be_v break_v in_o sanctification_n when_o we_o can_v meek_o and_o cheerful_o submit_v to_o the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n with_o a_o desire_n to_o have_v his_o spiritual_a thraldom_n god_n and_o the_o promise_n of_o salvation_n whereby_o we_o come_v to_o know_v all_o our_o liberty_n where_o we_o have_v all_o the_o promise_v open_v to_o we_o the_o promise_n of_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n of_o necessary_a grace_n the_o promise_n of_o comfort_n in_o all_o condition_n whatsoever_o therefore_o let_v we_o every_o day_n labour_n to_o grow_v far_o and_o far_o both_o in_o the_o and_o that_o love_n and_o affection_n be_v more_o refine_a there_o be_v less_o self-love_n and_o that_o zeal_n they_o have_v it_o be_v join_v with_o more_o heavenly_a discretion_n there_o be_v less_o dry_v up_o for_o ever_o grace_v it_o be_v a_o continue_v and_o a_o increase_a thing_n it_o continue_v still_o as_o the_o stream_n that_o it_o be_v feed_v with_o be_v a_o everliving_a spring_n so_o be_v grace_n it_o be_v feed_v with_o the_o grace_n in_o christ_n and_o he_o be_v a_o never-dying_a spring_n a_o fountain_n for_o that_o grace_n in_o he_o be_v feed_v with_o his_o divinity_n therefore_o there_o must_v be_v a_o perpetual_a spring_n in_o christ_n so_o where_o christ_n have_v open_v a_o spring_n in_o the_o heart_n he_o will_v feed_v that_o grace_n perpetual_o use_v 2_o let_v none_o be_v discourage_v that_o have_v grace_v begin_v in_o they_o god_n will_v go_v on_o with_o his_o own_o grace_n grace_n when_o he_o have_v begin_v a_o good_a work_n he_o will_v finish_v it_o to_o
