here_o in_o the_o same_o stile_n as_o former_o for_o he_o call_v corporal_a deed_n work_v of_o the_o flesh_n but_o spiritual_a act_n he_o call_v the_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o why_o because_o they_o be_v more_o indeed_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n then_o of_o man_n and_o therefore_o be_v call_v fruit_n rather_o than_o work_v though_o they_o be_v the_o work_n or_o act_n of_o our_o soul_n yet_o in_o regard_n they_o be_v do_v by_o the_o virtue_n of_o grace_n not_o of_o nature_n hence_o they_o be_v impute_v to_o be_v rather_o fruit_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n than_o act_n of_o our_o soul_n while_o that_o holy_a spirit_n operate_v more_o towards_o they_o than_o our_o own_o soul_n do_v which_o since_o adam_n fall_n be_v still_o more_o propense_a to_o evil_n then_o to_o good_a work_n note_v here_o be_v principal_o understand_v the_o act_n not_o the_o habit_n of_o those_o virtue_n for_o a_o act_n be_v proper_o a_o fruit_n of_o the_o agent_n and_o the_o chief_a agent_n in_o these_o be_v the_o holy_a ghost_n they_o though_o produce_v by_o we_o be_v call_v the_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n that_o be_v of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n in_o we_o and_o the_o first_o of_o these_o be_v call_v charity_n as_o the_o prime_n and_o principal_a fruit_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n in_o we_o because_o it_o be_v indeed_o the_o high_a of_o all_o other_o virtue_n insomuch_o that_o it_o partake_v in_o a_o manner_n of_o the_o deity_n itself_o since_o god_n be_v call_v charity_n 1_o joh._n 4_o 8._o and_o therefore_o this_o be_v indeed_o the_o main_a and_o special_a fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o all_o other_o virtue_n be_v not_o improper_o call_v the_o fruit_n of_o this_o because_o it_o be_v this_o give_v life_n to_o the_o soul_n and_o to_o all_o her_o virtue_n whatsoever_o and_o by_o this_o be_v produce_v in_o we_o these_o follow_v namely_o joy_n the_o fruit_n indeed_o of_o a_o serene_a conscience_n guilty_a of_o no_o adulterate_a affection_n to_o creature_n but_o ravish_v whole_o with_o the_o pure_a love_n of_o god_n peace_n the_o tranquillity_n of_o mind_n upon_o the_o serenity_n of_o a_o conscience_n not_o trouble_v with_o any_o
