this_o word_n creature_n now_o in_o the_o handle_n of_o this_o point_n we_o will_v do_v these_o two_o thing_n first_o we_o will_v show_v how_o sanctification_n arise_v from_o justification_n because_o that_o be_v the_o main_a scope_n for_o which_o we_o choose_v this_o text._n second_o we_o will_v show_v you_o the_o reason_n why_o they_o be_v inseparable_a why_o the_o one_o must_v needs_o follow_v the_o other_o and_o then_o further_o open_a this_o doctrine_n to_o you_o that_o whosoever_o be_v in_o christ_n must_v have_v a_o new_a nature_n create_v in_o he_o by_o god_n the_o first_o thing_n that_o be_v infuse_v into_o we_o present_o after_o we_o be_v justify_v or_o at_o the_o same_o time_n only_o there_o be_v a_o difference_n in_o the_o order_n of_o nature_n second_o it_o arise_v from_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o its_o time_n beget_v the_o degree_n of_o sanctification_n but_o now_o that_o this_o may_v not_o be_v in_o notion_n only_o we_o will_v show_v you_o how_o the_o spirit_n work_v this_o that_o you_o may_v not_o think_v these_o to_o be_v thing_n carry_v in_o cloud_n and_o to_o have_v place_n only_o in_o our_o understanding_n but_o that_o you_o may_v know_v it_o in_o the_o experience_n that_o every_o man_n find_v in_o himself_o that_o after_o he_o have_v take_v christ_n there_o be_v indeed_o such_o a_o spirit_n shed_v into_o his_o heart_n that_o change_v he_o for_o the_o understanding_n of_o this_o know_v that_o when_o we_o come_v to_o invite_v man_n to_o come_v into_o christ_n as_o it_o be_v all_o our_o business_n to_o invite_v man_n to_o the_o marriage_n send_v into_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n that_o when_o we_o come_v and_o invite_v man_n to_o come_v into_o christ_n the_o spirit_n also_o secret_o compel_v they_o to_o come_v in_o we_o be_v indeed_o bid_v to_o compel_v man_n to_o come_v in_o but_o unless_o there_o be_v another_o compeller_n that_o be_v except_o there_o be_v the_o spirit_n within_o to_o do_v it_o the_o work_n be_v not_o do_v unless_o there_o be_v two_o compeller_n at_o the_o same_o time_n the_o holy_a ghost_n within_o preach_v to_o your_o heart_n when_o we_o preach_v to_o your_o ear_n except_o there_o be_v two_o caller_n with_o yourselves_o now_o whether_o there_o must_v not_o be_v a_o almighty_a power_n to_o turn_v the_o course_n of_o nature_n because_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n natural_o go_v downward_o to_o sin_n it_o descend_v downward_o with_o the_o same_o propensity_n it_o have_v the_o same_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d as_o we_o call_v it_o the_o same_o forwardness_n and_o proneness_n to_o evil_a that_o but_o when_o the_o spirit_n come_v he_o turn_v this_o course_n of_o nature_n now_o when_o we_o come_v to_o do_v this_o do_v you_o think_v that_o any_o man_n in_o the_o world_n be_v able_a to_o work_v it_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n it_o be_v true_a a_o man_n may_v go_v thus_o far_o it_o be_v possible_a for_o a_o king_n or_o for_o a_o man_n in_o authority_n to_o set_v preferment_n on_o the_o upon_o covetousness_n christ_n say_v it_o be_v impossible_a all_o the_o man_n in_o the_o world_n can_v change_v his_o heart_n but_o put_v the_o case_n a_o man_n can_v do_v it_o as_o no_o man_n can_v if_o he_o can_v turn_v a_o man_n heart_n it_o will_v be_v but_o in_o a_o particular_a or_o two_o but_o to_o turn_v the_o whole_a frame_n of_o the_o heart_n to_o make_v a_o general_a change_n to_o make_v he_o another_o man_n another_o creature_n it_o be_v impossible_a for_o any_o man_n in_o the_o world_n to_o do_v it_o or_o put_v the_o case_n he_o can_v do_v so_o it_o must_v be_v after_o long_o reason_v but_o to_o do_v it_o upon_o the_o sudden_a and_o at_o one_o sermon_n as_o the_o spirit_n sometime_o do_v to_o take_v one_o word_n and_o by_o it_o to_o change_v the_o heart_n of_o man_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v the_o work_n of_o a_o almighty_a power_n therefore_o in_o the_o 2_o cor._n 3._o chap._n and_o the_o last_o verse_n when_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o this_o great_a change_n he_o say_v when_o we_o read_v or_o hear_v the_o word_n we_o see_v there_o the_o image_n of_o god_n as_o one_o see_v his_o face_n in_o a_o glass_n and_o be_v change_v into_o it_o from_o glory_n to_o glory_n that_o be_v from_o one_o glorious_a degree_n to_o another_o but_o how_o be_v this_o do_v it_o be_v do_v say_v he_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v it_o be_v impossible_a for_o a_o man_n to_o be_v turn_v into_o the_o glorious_a image_n of_o god_n and_o not_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n a_o man_n may_v as_o well_o say_v i_o will_v make_v a_o clod_n of_o earth_n a_o shine_a star_n as_o to_o say_v he_o can_v make_v the_o carnal_a and_o dead_a heart_n of_o man_n to_o be_v like_o the_o image_n of_o god_n it_o must_v be_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n who_o through_o his_o eternal_a spirit_n offer_v himself_o to_o purge_v your_o conscience_n from_o dead_a work_n etc._n etc._n it_o have_v not_o only_a virtue_n to_o take_v away_o the_o guilt_n of_o on_o bold_o god_n have_v promise_v to_o hear_v you_o he_o can_v deny_v you_o see_v how_o christ_n do_v when_o he_o be_v upon_o the_o earth_n those_o that_o be_v lame_a and_o blind_a when_o they_o strength_n he_o have_v receive_v here_o must_v be_v more_o strength_n there_o must_v be_v a_o new_a addition_n for_o the_o work_n go_v beyond_o the_o strength_n as_o a_o child_n may_v go_v on_o plain_a ground_n but_o if_o you_o will_v have_v he_o go_v up_o a_o pair_n of_o stair_n you_o must_v lend_v he_o your_o help_n so_o a_o christian_n may_v do_v action_n proportionable_a to_o the_o so_o far_o as_o we_o be_v regenerate_v so_o far_o we_o have_v freewill_n which_o follow_v grace_n so_o much_o life_n as_o we_o have_v so_o far_o we_o may_v move_v and_o stir_v ourselves_o and_o in_o these_o case_n it_o be_v true_a that_o we_o need_v more_o help_n from_o god_n beyond_o the_o grace_n we_o have_v receive_v the_o five_o thing_n to_o be_v observe_v be_v the_o order_n first_o in_o christ_n creature_n and_o then_o a_o new_a creature_n out_o of_o which_o we_o be_v brief_o to_o observe_v this_o let_v no_o man_n look_v for_o sanctification_n before_o he_o be_v justify_v learn_v that_o be_v let_v no_o man_n be_v discourage_v from_o come_v to_o christ_n we_o because_o he_o find_v not_o in_o himself_o that_o godly_a sorrow_n for_o sin_n that_o ability_n to_o repent_v that_o disposition_n of_o heart_n which_o he_o desire_v to_o have_v for_o a_o new_a creature_n follow_v it_o we_o must_v first_o be_v in_o christ_n before_o we_o can_v be_v new_a creature_n and_o this_o be_v a_o common_a fault_n among_o we_o we_o will_v fain_o have_v something_o before_o we_o come_v we_o think_v god_n pardon_n be_v not_o free_a but_o we_o must_v bring_v something_o in_o our_o hand_n you_o
