though_o they_o that_o plant_v a_o vineyard_n may_v just_o eat_v the_o fruit_n thereof_o yet_o what_o be_v this_o to_o purpose_n he_o be_v a_o thief_n that_o eat_v of_o the_o fruit_n of_o that_o this_o day_n grievous_a to_o be_v relate_v what_o unjust_a judgement_n against_o they_o for_o to_o maintain_v minister_n so_o call_v what_o be_v the_o thing_n that_o j._n s._n plead_v for_o tithe_n or_o a_o hundred_o or_o two_o hundred_o pound_n a_o year_n he_o be_v a_o liar_n to_o say_v that_o we_o contradict_v the_o scripture_n because_o we_o can_v uphold_v this_o but_o must_v bear_v witness_n against_o it_o so_o whilst_o he_o false_o charge_v we_o with_o contradict_v the_o scripture_n in_o the_o very_a same_o thing_n he_o and_o his_o generation_n be_v find_v in_o this_o practice_n contrary_a to_o all_o the_o minister_n of_o christ_n that_o ever_o be_v send_v by_o he_o and_o in_o the_o very_a practice_n of_o the_o deceiver_n antichrist_n and_o false-prophet_n in_o make_v merchandise_n of_o people_n through_o covetousness_n in_o preach_v for_o hire_n and_o in_o seek_v for_o their_o gain_n from_o their_o quarter_n and_o this_o be_v the_o very_a truth_n let_v j._n s._n and_o all_o his_o fellow_n read_v their_o own_o contradiction_n to_o the_o example_n of_o all_o the_o minister_n of_o christ_n in_o their_o cuâ—sed_a practice_n of_o maintenance_n which_o be_v the_o great_a oppression_n this_o day_n in_o england_n and_o this_o be_v their_o grief_n against_o we_o because_o god_n have_v open_v our_o mouth_n to_o declare_v against_o they_o and_o to_o show_v their_o prayer_n in_o the_o spirit_n and_o who_o be_v move_v by_o the_o spirit_n morning_n or_o evening_n or_o at_o meal_n or_o otherwise_o and_o this_o be_v truth_n let_v j.s._n gather_v what_o he_o can_v from_o it_o further_o he_o say_v if_o we_o teach_v one_o another_o why_o do_v we_o condemn_v they_o for_o teach_v but_o to_o this_o i_o have_v answer_v preach_v or_o teach_v by_o the_o spirit_n we_o own_o and_o without_o the_o spirit_n we_o deny_v and_o because_o we_o say_v we_o own_o all_o that_o which_o be_v god_n as_o baptism_n the_o lord_n supper_n and_o sabbath_n etc._n etc._n yet_o do_v disow_v in_o practice_n their_o water_n baptism_n and_o their_o form_n of_o break_v of_o bread_n and_o wine_n and_o their_o form_n of_o church_n fellowship_n and_o their_o form_n of_o keep_v a_o sabbath_n this_o he_o charge_v to_o be_v contradiction_n but_o it_o be_v not_o so_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o lord_n though_o i.s._n false_o so_o judge_v it_o for_o their_o baptism_n and_o break_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n and_o their_o church-fellowship_n and_o keep_v of_o a_o day_n i_o say_v their_o exercise_n in_o these_o thing_n we_o do_v deny_v to_o be_v of_o god_n as_o in_o measure_n be_v prove_v and_o may_v be_v further_o if_o need_v require_v and_o i_o say_v we_o own_o that_o which_o be_v god_n and_o which_o be_v lead_v unto_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o practise_v in_o his_o fear_n and_o counsel_n &_o yet_o we_o do_v deny_v all_o their_o imagination_n of_o any_o thing_n which_o god_n command_v do_v own_o the_o command_n of_o god_n and_o yet_o do_v not_o contradict_v ourselves_o though_o i._o s._n false_o so_o judge_v of_o we_o further_o he_o charge_v we_o with_o self-contradiction_n concern_v speech_n and_o silence_n because_o we_o check_v some_o for_o speak_v and_o yet_o speak_v or_o write_v ourselves_o but_o this_o be_v the_o same_o with_o the_o former_a and_o the_o same_o answer_n will_v serve_v that_o speak_v that_o which_o be_v not_o in_o the_o spirit_n we_o check_v which_o be_v not_o the_o voice_n of_o christ_n but_o of_o the_o stranger_n and_o yet_o do_v own_o that_o which_o be_v speak_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o herein_o do_v not_o contradict_v ourselves_o further_o he_o say_v we_o contradict_v ourselves_o concern_v conscience_n and_o law_n because_o we_o say_v there_o must_v be_v no_o law_n concern_v religion_n viz_o to_o bind_v any_o man_n to_o worship_n in_o this_o or_o the_o other_o way_n and_o to_o bind_v he_o from_o this_o or_o that_o way_n of_o worship_n and_o yet_o in_o exhort_v the_o ruler_n that_o their_o law_n be_v according_a to_o that_o in_o the_o conscience_n but_o in_o these_o word_n there_o be_v no_o contradiction_n for_o the_o law_n be_v according_a to_o the_o light_n in_o every_o man_n conscience_n that_o law_n will_v not_o bind_v or_o limit_v the_o conscience_n from_o this_o or_o that_o way_n of_o worship_n in_o religion_n for_o that_o law_n be_v unjust_a which_o bind_v or_o limit_n the_o pure_a conscience_n of_o any_o man_n but_o that_o law_n which_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o light_n in_o every_o man_n conscience_n be_v oppression_n and_o we_o bear_v witness_n against_o it_o and_o though_o we_o do_v say_v no_o law_n must_v be_v lay_v upon_o religion_n that_o be_v to_o say_v to_o bind_v any_o man_n conscience_n to_o or_o from_o such_o a_o form_n of_o religion_n and_o though_o we_o further_o say_v that_o all_o just_a law_n be_v and_o shall_v be_v according_a to_o every_o man_n conscience_n yet_o in_o this_o there_o be_v no_o contradiction_n and_o whereas_o j.s._n speak_v of_o such_o law_n who_o persecute_v prison_a and_o crucify_v for_o the_o testimony_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n god_n have_v hew_v down_o in_o all_o age_n say_v he_o let_v the_o ruler_n of_o england_n take_v notice_n of_o this_o from_o the_o mouth_n of_o one_o of_o their_o teacher_n and_o further_o i_o add_v so_o will_v god_n hew_v down_o in_o this_o age_n all_o those_o law_n by_o which_o many_o be_v persecute_v and_o prison_v as_o he_o have_v do_v in_o other_o age_n therefore_o let_v it_o be_v consider_v by_o they_o and_o he_o say_v the_o magistrate_n be_v not_o to_o level_v his_o law_n with_o every_o man_n conscience_n and_o light_n and_o this_o he_o speak_v in_o opposition_n to_o we_o but_o he_o need_v not_o for_o we_o say_v the_o same_o that_o some_o man_n conscience_n be_v to_o the_o light_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o conscience_n now_o by_o these_o word_n we_o do_v not_o mean_v that_o we_o will_v have_v a_o law_n according_a to_o religion_n but_o no_o law_n to_o limit_v to_o or_o from_o this_o or_o that_o manner_n of_o religion_n and_o this_o do_v very_o well_o agree_v with_o our_o say_n let_v all_o your_o law_n be_v according_a to_o the_o light_n of_o christ_n so_o by_o his_o misinterpretation_n of_o the_o first_o he_o make_v it_o appear_v to_o be_v contradiction_n to_o the_o second_o but_o it_o be_v not_o in_o the_o light_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o further_o r._n f._n say_v the_o law_n of_o god_n answer_v his_o justice_n and_o the_o light_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o conscience_n answer_v the_o law_n of_o god_n which_o be_v perfect_a according_a to_o that_o in_o the_o conscience_n these_o word_n j._n s._n charge_n with_o two_o error_n but_o let_v the_o reader_n try_v where_o the_o error_n lie_v and_o not_o believe_v j._n saint_n false_a deduction_n from_o r.f._n plain_a word_n which_o be_v simple_o utter_v though_o subtle_o wrest_v and_o j._n s._n speak_v as_o if_o some_o will_v have_v magistrate_n to_o make_v law_n to_o bind_v themselves_o from_o strike_v at_o offender_n blasphemer_n gospel_n and_o church_n disturber_n etc._n etc._n in_o answer_n to_o this_o we_o be_v not_o they_o that_o will_v have_v any_o magistrate_n to_o bind_v themselves_o from_o strike_v at_o offender_n who_o be_v true_o able_a to_o judge_v of_o offence_n we_o own_o that_o such_o shall_v be_v punish_v according_a to_o the_o offence_n but_o the_o magistrate_n law_n reacheâ—_n but_o to_o the_o outward_a man_n to_o keep_v that_o in_o peace_n and_o good_a order_n and_o not_o to_o the_o inward_a man_n to_o bind_v or_o limit_v that_o and_o as_o for_o blasphemy_n and_o gospel_n and_o church_n disturb_v we_o find_v many_o magistrate_n not_o able_a to_o judge_v thereof_o but_o many_o on_o the_o other_o side_n call_v â—â—th_a blasphemy_n and_o reprove_v of_o sin_n in_o teacher_n and_o people_n gospel_n and_o church_n disturb_v and_o so_o by_o false_a judgement_n make_v such_o offender_n which_o be_v not_o and_o so_o abuse_v their_o power_n and_o condemn_v the_o innocent_a rather_o than_o the_o guilty_a and_o these_o be_v such_o as_o j._n s._n speak_v of_o where_o the_o strong_a man_n arm_v keep_v the_o house_n and_o these_o be_v rather_o a_o terror_n to_o well-doer_n then_o to_o evil_a and_o such_o magistrate_n and_o such_o law_n by_o which_o the_o just_a be_v oppress_v and_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o wicked_a strengthen_v will_n the_o lord_n confound_v in_o a_o day_n to_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o name_n and_o to_o the_o refresh_n of_o all_o his_o people_n who_o be_v now_o every_o way_n oppress_v by_o evil_a man_n both_o by_o teacher_n and_o people_n and_o as_o for_o the_o rest_n of_o his_o book_n it_o be_v but_o of_o the_o same_o nature_n with_o the_o former_a and_o not_o worth_a answer_v to_o only_o his_o lie_n i_o do_v deny_v and_o his_o first_o follow_v be_v that_o all_o our_o doctrine_n be_v raise_v upon_o the_o ruin_n of_o the_o scripture_n excellency_n and_o authority_n this_o be_v false_a neither_o do_v his_o proof_n at_o all_o make_v it_o good_a his_o second_o lie_n be_v that_o our_o corrupt_a tenant_n be_v build_v upon_o false_a and_o novel_a interpretation_n and_o this_o be_v two_o lie_n together_o our_o tenant_n be_v not_o corrupt_v neither_o do_v we_o build_v any_o thing_n which_o we_o hold_v upon_o false_a interpretationâ—_n his_o three_o lie_n be_v that_o it_o be_v pride_n that_o have_v breed_v and_o do_v feed_v our_o opinion_n and_o practice_n and_o this_o be_v also_o false_a and_o to_o prove_v it_o have_v wrest_v some_o of_o e._n b._n word_n his_o four_o lie_n be_v that_o unbelief_n
their_o name_n in_o outward_a appearance_n but_o have_v a_o measure_n line_n give_v unto_o it_o and_o a_o true_a balance_n whereby_o voice_n way_n worship_n and_o testimony_n be_v try_v before_o they_o be_v approve_v and_o therewith_o shall_v this_o spirit_n be_v try_v and_o voice_n which_o be_v come_v forth_o cry_v hosanna_n to_o the_o son_n of_o david_n or_o a_o testimony_n to_o the_o light_a suitable_a to_o the_o new_a birth_n that_o be_v bear_v of_o the_o spirit_n this_o be_v a_o testimony_n which_o be_v not_o to_o be_v find_v in_o scripture_n to_o be_v two_o light_n suitable_a can_v be_v satisfy_v or_o see_v that_o there_o do_v not_o want_v labourer_n in_o the_o lord_n work_v he_o can_v free_o leave_v off_o etc._n etc._n and_o further_o he_o say_v that_o god_n have_v make_v his_o preach_v effectual_a for_o the_o convert_n of_o many_o and_o that_o there_o be_v many_o though_o not_o in_o that_o place_n yet_o some_o in_o that_o place_n of_o who_o he_o can_v say_v as_o the_o apostle_n say_v that_o they_o be_v the_o seal_n of_o his_o ministry_n etc._n etc._n these_o be_v the_o head_n of_o the_o particular_n objection_n against_o this_o call_n whereas_o thou_o say_v that_o it_o be_v nonsense_n to_o say_v that_o a_o man_n be_v make_v a_o minister_n by_o the_o gift_n of_o grace_n ans._n then_o the_o apostle_n speak_v nonsense_n when_o they_o witness_v forth_o their_o call_n to_o the_o ministry_n for_o to_o every_o one_o of_o they_o be_v give_v grace_n according_a to_o the_o measure_n of_o the_o gift_n of_o christ_n from_o which_o grace_n they_o do_v minister_v eph._n 4._o but_o the_o apostle_n speak_v sensible_a truth_n therefore_o he_o that_o contradict_v it_o speak_v nonsense_n and_o ignorance_n as_o will_v further_o appear_v in_o say_v that_o he_o elect_v ans._n there_o he_o have_v belie_v the_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n for_o they_o can_v discern_v the_o elect_a from_o the_o world_n as_o it_o be_v write_v you_o shall_v discern_v between_o he_o that_o serve_v god_n and_o he_o that_o serve_v he_o not_o and_o paul_n and_o peter_n write_v to_o the_o elect_a so_o these_o teacher_n who_o know_v not_o the_o elect_n and_o yet_o exhort_v all_o spirit_n be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n which_o be_v effectual_a before_o the_o letter_n be_v to_o enoch_n to_o isaac_n to_o jacob_n to_o abraham_n and_o other_o and_o from_o the_o word_n be_v the_o scripture_n that_o ever_o any_o do_v minister_v for_o god_n which_o have_v not_o the_o spirit_n or_o that_o ever_o any_o be_v convert_v unto_o god_n by_o such_o a_o minister_n as_o have_v not_o the_o spirit_n therefore_o prove_v this_o assertion_n to_o the_o people_n where_o or_o when_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n do_v accompany_v that_o ministry_n when_o the_o minister_n have_v not_o the_o spirit_n so_o that_o thou_o mâ—ist_v as_o well_o as_o thou_o have_v say_v not_o pretend_v unto_o any_o infallibility_n nor_o unto_o any_o truth_n in_o thy_o ministry_n for_o if_o thou_o do_v people_n will_v see_v that_o thou_o do_v pretend_v unto_o that_o which_o thou_o be_v far_o from_o so_o that_o if_o thou_o will_v not_o pretend_v to_o minister_v neither_o no_o more_o than_o to_o have_v the_o spirit_n
