grace_n of_o god_n and_o on_o the_o contrary_a part_n we_o see_v that_o the_o child_n of_o god_n endure_v so_o great_a scarcity_n and_o so_o many_o misery_n as_o be_v rueful_a sometime_o they_o have_v wicked_a who_o god_n have_v threaten_v do_v prosper_v we_o be_v astonish_v at_o that_o that_o we_o seem_v to_o lose_v our_o time_n in_o trust_v unto_o god_n and_o that_o his_o threaten_n and_o promise_n be_v deceitful_a what_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o such_o trouble_n it_o be_v for_o that_o we_o want_v patience_n to_o bridle_v ourselves_o and_o to_o say_v i_o will_v see_v what_o god_n will_v do_v we_o need_v no_o more_o but_o to_o stride_v over_o as_o when_o we_o have_v to_o pass_v a_o ditch_n we_o be_v fain_o to_o leap_v and_o stride_v that_o we_o may_v get_v over_o it_o so_o then_o for_o as_o much_o as_o we_o can_v not_o leap_v over_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n and_o so_o lift_v up_o ourselves_o to_o behold_v god_n judgement_n therefore_o we_o can_v see_v they_o though_o they_o be_v near_o at_o hand_n and_o certess_n there_o be_v diverse_a that_o will_v say_v i_o can_v go_v no_o further_o for_o such_o a_o thing_n stop_v i_o and_o what_o be_v that_o stop_n it_o be_v but_o some_o straw_n that_o lie_v in_o their_o way_n that_o be_v all_o the_o let_v and_o yet_o they_o need_v no_o more_o but_o to_o lift_v up_o their_o foot_n or_o to_o tread_v upon_o it_o to_o overcome_v all_o the_o matter_n that_o we_o make_v so_o great_a ado_n of_o and_o be_v not_o that_o a_o great_a laziness_n in_o we_o howbeit_o when_o we_o be_v destitute_a of_o god_n spirit_n you_o see_v in_o what_o plight_n we_o be_v yet_o be_v not_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v contain_v in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n speak_v in_o vain_a nor_o without_o cause_n furthermore_o it_o behove_v we_o to_o mark_v also_o how_o zophar_n say_v here_o that_o when_o the_o wicked_a shall_v have_v lift_v up_o their_o head_n to_o the_o sky_n and_o reach_v to_o the_o cloud_n god_n will_v find_v mean_n well_o enough_o to_o throw_v they_o down_o yea_o and_o to_o sink_v they_o even_o into_o hell_n lo_o what_o the_o end_n of_o the_o wicked_a shall_v be_v which_o seek_v nothing_o but_o to_o advance_v themselves_o true_a it_o be_v that_o god_n do_v erewhiles_o exalt_v his_o servant_n to_o honour_n and_o dignity_n but_o yet_o do_v they_o not_o cease_v to_o be_v low_o still_o all_o the_o while_n when_o a_o man_n be_v govern_v by_o god_n spirit_n although_o he_o be_v a_o great_a prince_n and_o honour_a of_o the_o whole_a world_n and_o god_n have_v reach_v he_o his_o hand_n to_o exalt_v he_o high_o yet_o will_v he_o always_o be_v modest_o mind_v to_o acknowledge_v his_o own_o infirmity_n and_o to_o walk_v in_o the_o fear_n and_o wareness_n say_v alas_o what_o will_v become_v of_o i_o if_o of_o a_o other_o he_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o nothing_o but_o be_v content_a with_o himself_o forasmuch_o then_o as_o our_o god_n be_v by_o no_o manner_n of_o mean_n bind_v unto_o we_o let_v we_o learn_v too_o humble_a ourselves_o before_o he_o and_o let_v we_o be_v sorry_a for_o our_o sin_n yea_o even_o so_o as_o we_o may_v be_v utter_o ashamed_a of_o they_o and_o desire_v god_n too_o use_v such_o flourish_n to_o cover_v our_o fault_n withal_o yet_o be_v we_o marvellous_o ashamed_a if_o it_o happen_v that_o our_o lie_n do_v appear_v what_o shall_v then_o become_v of_o we_o when_o we_o come_v before_o our_o god_n and_o herein_o we_o see_v how_o the_o papist_n be_v deceive_v for_o although_o they_o can_v not_o deny_v but_o that_o they_o be_v in_o danger_n of_o god_n curse_n if_o he_o will_v use_v any_o extremity_n towards_o they_o yet_o will_v they_o allege_v their_o satisfaction_n and_o therein_o play_v the_o merchant_n with_o god_n so_o that_o if_o they_o have_v make_v default_n in_o one_o point_n they_o can_v make_v amends_n for_o it_o another_o away_o yea_o they_o have_v their_o work_n which_o they_o call_v work_n of_o sepererogation_n which_o god_n never_o and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o reason_n in_o his_o do_n but_o these_o be_v word_n worthy_a to_o be_v blame_v yea_o and_o to_o be_v accurse_v how_o then_o whereas_o god_n have_v so_o afflict_v job_n as_o we_o see_v true_a it_o be_v that_o he_o mean_v not_o to_o punish_v he_o after_o the_o ordinary_a manner_n of_o his_o desert_n but_o yet_o may_v he_o have_v punish_v he_o so_o even_o by_o his_o law_n and_o why_o for_o sure_o god_n bear_v with_o we_o and_o accept_v our_o work_n in_o good_a worth_n which_o we_o do_v through_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n although_o they_o be_v faulty_a but_o be_v he_o bind_v to_o do_v so_o no._n have_v he_o give_v we_o his_o law_n to_o the_o intent_n to_o be_v subject_a to_o we_o and_o to_o be_v bind_v unto_o we_o no._n he_o do_v it_o of_o his_o own_o free_a goodness_n now_o than_o if_o a_o man_n will_v compel_v he_o to_o it_o shall_v he_o not_o do_v he_o wrong_v yes_o therefore_o job_n misbehave_v himself_o in_o this_o behalf_n for_o when_o a_o man_n shall_v have_v walk_v as_o upright_o as_o be_v possible_a yet_o shall_v he_o be_v find_v faulty_a before_o god_n so_o as_o he_o may_v just_o send_v he_o all_o the_o affliction_n in_o himself_o for_o in_o asmuch_o as_o god_n of_o his_o own_o mere_a goodness_n bear_v with_o his_o child_n and_o take_v their_o work_v a_o worth_n though_o they_o deserve_v it_o not_o it_o seem_v to_o job_n that_o god_n use_v cruelty_n towards_o he_o or_o at_o leastwise_o a_o absolute_a and_o lawless_a prerogative_n but_o he_o do_v not_o so_o true_a it_o be_v that_o god_n intent_n be_v not_o to_o punish_v job_n sin_n he_o have_v another_o respect_n and_o go_v another_o way_n to_o work_v according_a as_o i_o have_v show_v that_o it_o be_v his_o mind_n to_o try_v job_n patience_n whereas_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n there_o be_v many_o wicked_a man_n in_o the_o world_n which_o make_v merry_a and_o triumph_v at_o the_o same_o time_n and_o god_n make_v no_o ill_a countenance_n towards_o they_o and_o so_o we_o see_v it_o be_v not_o his_o mind_n to_o handle_v job_n according_a too_o his_o desert_n howbeit_o that_o we_o must_v always_o conclude_v that_o god_n even_o according_a to_o his_o law_n can_v have_v send_v job_n a_o hundred_o time_n more_o adversity_n so_o as_o he_o shall_v not_o have_v be_v able_a to_o bear_v it_o and_o why_o the_o jest_n offence_n that_o we_o commit_v trespass_v against_o the_o majesty_n of_o god_n and_o i_o pray_v you_o what_o punishment_n be_v great_a enough_o for_o so_o huge_a a_o offence_n as_o the_o impeach_a of_o god_n majesty_n and_o the_o cast_n down_o of_o his_o justice_n if_o we_o be_v overwhelm_v a_o hundred_o thousand_o time_n yet_o be_v it_o not_o comparable_a too_o the_o hideousness_n of_o the_o crime_n that_o we_o have_v commit_v so_o then_o job_n reason_v awry_o in_o say_v that_o god_n handle_v he_o not_o after_o the_o rule_n of_o his_o law_n sure_o if_o he_o have_v say_v according_a to_o his_o ordinary_a manner_n meaning_n that_o god_n intend_v not_o to_o punish_v he_o for_o his_o sin_n but_o for_o some_o other_o cause_n he_o have_v say_v very_o well_o &_o true_o but_o he_o say_v i_o see_v well_o that_o god_n use_v a_o excessive_a power_n he_o thunder_v against_o i_o as_o though_o he_o will_v dispatch_v i_o and_o therefore_o i_o must_v be_v fain_o to_o hold_v my_o peace_n when_o he_o speak_v so_o doubtless_o he_o play_v the_o horse_n that_o be_v break_v loose_a not_o that_o he_o be_v at_o any_o time_n out_o of_o patience_n howbeit_o that_o patience_n of_o his_o be_v not_o such_o but_o that_o it_o now_o and_o then_o boil_a with_o great_a wallop_n and_o do_v cast_v out_o some_o froth_n and_o scum_n thus_o you_o see_v the_o open_n of_o the_o matter_n that_o job_n handle_v here_o and_o forasmuch_o as_o these_o thing_n be_v very_o high_a the_o lay_v forth_o of_o the_o process_n of_o this_o matter_n may_v give_v yet_o some_o great_a light_n therefore_o let_v we_o come_v to_o that_o which_o job_n say_v after_o he_o have_v declare_v that_o what_o bitterness_n soever_o he_o have_v utter_v out_o of_o his_o stomach_n yet_o his_o grief_n surmount_v his_o complaint_n he_o say_v if_o it_o be_v lawful_a for_o i_o too_o find_v god._n and_o what_o mean_v he_o by_o that_o he_o mean_v to_o go_v to_o law_n after_o the_o manner_n of_o man_n out_o of_o all_o doubt_n if_o god_n shall_v abase_v himself_o so_o far_o as_o to_o go_v to_o law_n with_o we_o yet_o can_v we_o never_o win_v our_o case_n and_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o he_o say_v in_o his_o prophet_n isaiah_n let_v we_o set_v a_o judge_n or_o umper_v betwixt_o we_o too_o see_v who_o shall_v go_v by_o the_o better_a when_o god_n speak_v after_o that_o manner_n he_o mean_v not_o to_o resign_v his_o office_n nor_o to_o stoop_v so_o low_o as_o to_o submit_v himself_o too_o man_n tyrall_n that_o any_o body_n shall_v presume_v too_o give_v sentence_n upon_o he_o no_o but_o his_o meaning_n in_o effect_n be_v that_o although_o he_o shall_v forbear_v his_o authority_n and_o that_o there_o be_v some_o man_n appoint_v too_o be_v judge_n between_o he_o and_o we_o yet_o shall_v we_o not_o fail_v to_o be_v condemn_v we_o may_v well_o plead_v for_o ourselves_o and_o we_o may_v well_o allege_v all_o our_o reason_n but_o yet_o shall_v be_v confound_v because_o god_n will_v always_o be_v able_a to_o find_v some_o fault_n or_o other_o in_o we_o mark_v that_o for_o one_o point_n and_o therefore_o job_n overshoot_v himself_o much_o in_o wish_v to_o find_v god_n that_o he_o may_v go_v to_o law_n with_o he_o that_o be_v to_o say_v in_o wish_v that_o god_n shall_v stoop_v so_o low_o as_o he_o may_v take_v he_o for_o his_o adversary_n to_o plead_v his_o case_n against_o he_o before_o a_o judge_n for_o although_o he_o have_v that_o privilege_n and_o that_o god_n shall_v grant_v he_o his_o desire_n yet_o shall_v he_o always_o be_v put_v to_o shame_v but_o what_o make_v he_o to_o beguile_v himself_o it_o be_v because_o his_o torment_n trouble_v he_o in_o such_o wise_a as_o he_o be_v not_o master_n of_o his_o wit_n but_o see_v vexation_n as_o in_o darkness_n or_o else_o have_v his_o eye_n blinfolded_a and_o consider_v not_o that_o god_n can_v find_v more_o blame_n in_o he_o than_o he_o himself_o be_v privy_a to_o if_o he_o list_v to_o examine_v he_o rigorous_o and_o hereby_o we_o be_v warn_v to_o stand_v upon_o our_o guard_n when_o god_n send_v we_o any_o affliction_n therefore_o let_v we_o take_v heed_n that_o we_o hold_v ourselves_o short_a and_o why_o because_o we_o shall_v out_o of_o hand_n be_v we_o mark_v well_o this_o manner_n of_o speech_n which_o job_n use_v so_o long_o say_v he_o as_o there_o shall_v be_v any_o wind_n or_o breath_n in_o i_o and_o so_o long_o as_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v in_o my_o nozethrille_n for_o he_o speak_v not_o of_o his_o life_n as_o though_o he_o hold_v it_o without_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n true_a it_o be_v that_o we_o may_v say_v it_o be_v a_o thing_n common_a enough_o and_o no_o man_n will_v deny_v but_o we_o be_v behold_v too_o god_n for_o our_o breath_n and_o for_o all_o the_o liveliness_n that_o we_o have_v but_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o how_o many_o be_v there_o that_o acknowledge_v it_o in_o good_a earnest_n man_n live_v here_o after_o so_o brutish_a a_o fashion_n as_o it_o may_v be_v say_v that_o they_o take_v themselves_o to_o be_v sustain_v of_o themselves_o and_o of_o their_o own_o power_n to_o be_v short_a there_o be_v very_o few_o that_o know_v right_o what_o s._n paul_n mean_v by_o say_v that_o we_o have_v our_o life_n move_v and_o be_v in_o god_n there_o be_v very_o few_o i_o say_v which_o know_v that_o and_o therefore_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o how_o job_n show_v we_o here_o that_o he_o be_v not_o carry_v away_o as_o many_o man_n be_v who_o be_v so_o dazzle_v with_o their_o passion_n as_o they_o have_v no_o more_o skill_n at_o all_o neither_o know_v what_o they_o say_v true_a it_o be_v that_o undiscrete_a word_n escape_v he_o as_o we_o have_v see_v and_o shall_v see_v hereafter_o but_o yet_o nevertheless_o he_o always_o hold_v himself_o upon_o the_o good_a foundation_n and_o although_o the_o building_n be_v not_o suitable_a to_o the_o same_o yet_o i_o say_v he_o hold_v himself_o in_o the_o fear_n and_o awe_n of_o god_n and_o further_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o this_o circumstance_n that_o job_n speak_v not_o at_o his_o own_o leisure_n and_o ease_n you_o see_v he_o be_v in_o such_o affliction_n as_o god_n seem_v to_o be_v full_o determine_v too_o destroy_v he_o utter_o and_o yet_o he_o honour_v he_o still_o for_o his_o life_n acknowledge_v he_o to_o be_v the_o party_n of_o who_o he_o have_v his_o life_n and_o i_o pray_v you_o what_o excuse_n shall_v we_o have_v if_o we_o be_v not_o full_o resolve_v thereof_o sith_o that_o god_n give_v we_o release_v too_o make_v we_o mindful_a of_o his_o grace_n or_o if_o we_o do_v not_o acknowledge_v and_o confess_v that_o our_o life_n and_o all_o that_o ever_o depend_v thereupon_o proceed_v of_o his_o grace_n and_o power_n shall_v we_o not_o be_v the_o more_o unexcusable_a as_o oft_o then_o as_o we_o think_v upon_o our_o life_n let_v we_o remember_v that_o it_o behove_v we_o to_o make_v the_o same_o confession_n that_o job_n make_v here_o namely_o that_o there_o be_v neither_o blast_n nor_o breath_n in_o i_o of_o my_o own_o power_n but_o it_o be_v god_n that_o have_v give_v i_o everywhit_o of_o it_o true_a it_o be_v that_o when_o job_n speak_v here_o of_o god_n spirit_n we_o must_v not_o imagine_v as_o the_o fantastical_a sort_n do_v who_o think_v that_o the_o very_a substance_n of_o god_n spirit_n be_v in_o they_o for_o there_o be_v not_o a_o more_o abominable_a heresy_n than_o that_o be_v and_o it_o behove_v we_o always_o too_o mark_v such_o manner_n of_o speech_n in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n to_o the_o end_n we_o fall_v not_o into_o such_o heresy_n as_o to_o say_v that_o god_n spirit_n be_v in_o we_o as_o touch_v his_o very_a substance_n for_o what_o a_o thing_n be_v that_o it_o shall_v ensue_v that_o god_n spirit_n be_v subject_a to_o ignorance_n to_o change_v and_o to_o mutability_n yea_o and_o that_o he_o be_v defile_v and_o stain_v with_o our_o sin_n and_o vice_n and_o yet_o nevertheless_o as_o i_o have_v say_v it_o be_v a_o point_n that_o have_v sore_o trouble_v the_o christian_a church_n like_v as_o the_o unhappy_a heretic_n that_o be_v punish_v here_o have_v a_o conceit_n to_o say_v that_o man_n soul_n be_v partaker_n of_o the_o substance_n of_o the_o godhead_n but_o that_o be_v a_o thing_n so_o horrible_a and_o against_o nature_n as_o a_o man_n must_v needs_o be_v utter_o grow_v out_o of_o kind_n ere_o he_o can_v come_v to_o it_o so_o then_o let_v we_o mark_v that_o the_o speak_n of_o god_n spirit_n here_o import_v not_o that_o the_o substance_n of_o he_o be_v in_o we_o but_o it_o be_v mean_v of_o his_o breathe_n that_o be_v to_o say_v of_o that_o which_o he_o inspire_v into_o we_o by_o his_o power_n according_a as_o we_o see_v how_o the_o sun_n abide_v in_o the_o sky_n and_o yet_o the_o brightness_n of_o his_o beam_n do_v in_o such_o wise_a come_v to_o we_o as_o we_o enjoy_v his_o light_n and_o heat_n but_o be_v that_o as_o much_o too_o say_v therefore_o that_o we_o hold_v the_o sun_n here_o beneath_o and_o in_o good_a sooth_n when_o as_o we_o see_v that_o the_o sun_n by_o his_o power_n which_o he_o shed_v down_o hither_o cheer_v the_o earth_n in_o such_o wise_a as_o it_o bear_v fruit_n and_o yield_v sustenance_n too_o the_o nourishment_n of_o man_n what_o shall_v the_o incomprehensible_a power_n do_v which_o be_v in_o god_n himself_o and_o in_o his_o spirit_n can_v the_o same_o spread_v out_o itself_o even_o unto_o we_o and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o we_o not_o have_v any_o of_o his_o substance_n so_o then_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o that_o the_o very_a substance_n of_o god_n spirit_n be_v not_o in_o we_o but_o his_o power_n be_v shed_v forth_o in_o such_o wise_a as_o we_o live_v by_o it_o and_o be_v confirm_v by_o mean_n thereof_o know_v that_o it_o behove_v we_o to_o hold_v our_o life_n of_o god_n according_a service_n and_o unhallow_a not_o his_o holy_a scripture_n by_o seek_v there_o for_o trifle_a thing_n but_o keep_v on_o forward_o continual_o to_o the_o say_a mark_n of_o know_v our_o god_n to_o be_v such_o as_o he_o show_v himself_o to_o we_o and_o as_o he_o utter_v himself_o by_o his_o word_n which_o be_v â–ª_o the_o measure_n that_o he_o will_v not_o have_v we_o to_o pass_v nor_o to_o turn_v down_o here_o for_o a_o conclusion_n namely_o that_o such_o as_o desire_v to_o submit_v themselves_o unto_o god_n and_o to_o rule_v their_o life_n according_a to_o his_o will_n must_v fight_v against_o evil_n as_o the_o thing_n whereunto_o we_o be_v incline_v by_o nature_n and_o as_o we_o know_v that_o we_o be_v beset_v with_o many_o temptation_n and_o other_o thing_n that_o turn_v we_o if_o it_o be_v god_n that_o give_v special_a understanding_n unto_o man_n too_o discern_v thing_n that_o pertain_v too_o this_o transitory_a life_n what_o be_v too_o be_v say_v of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o of_o the_o true_a and_o pure_a religion_n have_v we_o those_o of_o nature_n can_v we_o purchase_v those_o by_o our_o own_o travel_n alas_o we_o must_v needs_o come_v far_o too_o short_a if_o it_o fall_v out_o that_o a_o man_n be_v a_o good_a school_n master_n too_o teach_v child_n or_o a_o good_a advocate_n or_o physician_n or_o a_o good_a merchant_n of_o a_o city_n or_o a_o good_a labourer_n in_o the_o country_n it_o be_v continual_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n that_o work_v in_o all_o these_o thing_n a_o man_n shall_v have_v need_n too_o be_v sharp_a witted_a in_o some_o one_o thing_n more_o than_o in_o some_o other_o like_v as_o there_o be_v require_v a_o great_a skill_n in_o some_o handicraft_n than_o in_o merchandise_n now_o then_o even_o in_o all_o these_o thing_n which_o seem_v too_o be_v common_a and_o of_o no_o value_n in_o themselves_o god_n must_v be_v fain_o too_o distribute_v his_o holy_a spirit_n unto_o man_n but_o if_o we_o come_v to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n there_o be_v a_o wisdom_n that_o surmount_v all_o man_n understanding_n yea_o and_o be_v wonderful_a even_o too_o the_o very_a angel_n they_o be_v the_o very_a yea_o and_o that_o many_o man_n which_o be_v well_o strike_v in_o year_n and_o have_v live_v long_a time_n in_o the_o world_n be_v stark_o mad_a in_o their_o superstition_n and_o fight_v feerce_o against_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n oftentimes_o it_o dazzle_v our_o eye_n and_o we_o be_v amaze_v at_o it_o yea_o but_o here_o be_v a_o text_n which_o ought_v too_o arm_v we_o against_o such_o stumble_a block_n it_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n which_o dwell_v in_o man_n it_o be_v the_o inspiration_n of_o the_o almighty_a that_o give_v understanding_n do_v we_o see_v wretched_a see_v a_o old_a man_n that_o have_v be_v sape_v a_o long_a while_n in_o the_o dotage_n of_o papistry_n come_v too_o right_a religion_n let_v we_o assure_v our_o self_n that_o god_n have_v wrought_v a_o miracle_n in_o that_o case_n also_o if_o we_o see_v young_a folk_n come_v to_o it_o let_v we_o assure_v ourselves_o that_o god_n draw_v they_o to_o he_o after_o a_o marvelous_a fashion_n for_o they_o do_v not_o easy_o receive_v the_o yoke_n because_o they_o be_v full_a of_o presumption_n as_o i_o say_v afore_o then_o if_o god_n tame_v they_o and_o make_v they_o teachable_a it_o be_v his_o wit_n can_v never_o reach_v so_o high_a as_o to_o know_v god_n or_o his_o truth_n we_o ought_v to_o put_v our_o own_o reason_n from_o we_o and_o to_o renounce_v it_o utter_o and_o that_o be_v the_o thing_n which_o saint_n paul_n term_v too_o be_v make_v a_o fool_n then_o if_o we_o will_v have_v our_o lord_n to_o fill_v we_o with_o his_o wisdom_n it_o behove_v we_o to_o become_v fool_n that_o be_v to_o say_v we_o must_v not_o bring_v any_o thing_n of_o our_o own_o nor_o ween_v ourselves_o to_o have_v one_o thing_n or_o other_o for_o that_o be_v a_o shet_n of_o the_o door_n against_o god_n wherefore_o if_o we_o will_v have_v god_n to_o continue_v the_o grace_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n when_o he_o shall_v have_v give_v we_o any_o portion_n of_o it_o we_o must_v learn_v to_o exalt_v and_o magnify_v he_o as_o he_o deserve_v and_o to_o acknowledge_v that_o there_o be_v not_o one_o drop_n of_o good_a understanding_n in_o we_o till_o god_n have_v put_v it_o into_o we_o and_o again_o the_o same_o must_v cause_v we_o to_o persist_v always_o in_o his_o obedience_n and_o to_o walk_v in_o great_a fear_n and_o carefulness_n see_v that_o if_o god_n shall_v quench_v the_o light_n that_o he_o have_v put_v into_o we_o we_o shall_v be_v in_o darkness_n yea_o and_o in_o so_o horrible_a darkness_n as_o we_o can_v never_o get_v out_o of_o it_o this_o be_v the_o first_o use_n of_o this_o place_n the_o second_o be_v that_o although_o we_o see_v the_o great_a part_n of_o the_o world_n go_v astray_v and_o scarce_o any_o man_n willing_a too_o submit_v himself_o unto_o god_n we_o must_v not_o think_v it_o strange_a that_o man_n shall_v be_v so_o far_o out_o of_o order_n as_o too_o play_v the_o wild_a beast_n and_o why_o for_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n that_o give_v understanding_n wherefore_o let_v the_o same_o be_v a_o ground_n for_o we_o to_o magnify_v god_n grace_n the_o more_o which_o we_o shall_v have_v receive_v and_o therewithal_o let_v we_o not_o be_v carry_v away_o though_o we_o see_v such_o rebelliousness_n and_o why_o for_o man_n do_v but_o follow_v their_o own_o kind_n they_o follow_v their_o own_o head_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n resist_v god_n and_o that_o be_v because_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n surmount_v all_o man_n reason_n and_o god_n must_v be_v fain_o too_o work_v by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n in_o open_v their_o eye_n or_o else_o they_o shall_v abide_v continual_o in_o their_o beastliness_n final_o eliu_n conclude_v thereupon_o that_o great_a man_n be_v not_o always_o wise_a and_o that_o sometime_o age_a man_n have_v no_o understanding_n skill_n nor_o discretion_n more_o than_o other_o man_n true_o eliu_n mean_v not_o here_o to_o pervert_v the_o order_n of_o nature_n for_o he_o have_v protest_v heretofore_o that_o he_o will_v hearken_v to_o the_o age_a and_o be_v willing_a to_o submit_v himself_o too_o their_o doctrine_n but_o he_o mean_v that_o which_o i_o have_v touch_v already_o namely_o that_o god_n be_v not_o bind_v too_o age_n nor_o to_o the_o state_n and_o quality_n of_o man_n when_o it_o please_v god_n too_o advance_v a_o man_n too_o dignity_n if_o he_o will_v have_v he_o to_o serve_v for_o the_o welfare_n of_o his_o people_n he_o endue_v he_o with_o grace_n to_o be_v able_a to_o discharge_v his_o office_n otherwise_o he_o leave_v he_o destitute_a and_o the_o high_a that_o a_o man_n be_v in_o degree_n the_o more_o shall_v he_o be_v know_v to_o be_v a_o double_a beast_n as_o for_o example_n
if_o there_o be_v a_o man_n choose_v to_o preach_v god_n word_n and_o god_n be_v mind_v to_o show_v favour_n to_o his_o church_n he_o will_v endue_v the_o say_a man_n with_o his_o spirit_n he_o will_v give_v he_o understand_v of_o his_o word_n and_o he_o will_v grant_v he_o cunning_a and_o skill_n to_o apply_v it_o to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o people_n and_o too_o gather_v good_a doctrine_n of_o it_o and_o final_o he_o will_v give_v he_o zealousness_n and_o all_o other_o thing_n that_o be_v requisite_a and_o he_o will_v show_v himself_o so_o manifest_o in_o that_o behalf_n as_o we_o may_v say_v that_o he_o have_v a_o care_n of_o we_o for_o that_o he_o distribute_v his_o grace_n after_o that_o sort_n unto_o man_n in_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v requisite_a for_o our_o welfare_n as_o much_o be_v to_o say_v of_o they_o that_o sit_v in_o the_o seat_n of_o justice_n according_a as_o they_o have_v need_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v double_v in_o they_o so_o also_o when_o god_n intend_v to_o be_v serve_v by_o they_o he_o give_v they_o a_o mighty_a power_n too_o discharge_v their_o duty_n contrariwise_o if_o god_n be_v â—â—gâ—ie_n with_o we_o then_o they_o which_o shall_v have_v the_o preach_n of_o his_o word_n shall_v be_v beast_n without_o understanding_n and_o man_n shall_v despise_v they_o for_o disguise_v thing_n so_o as_o the_o good_a doctrine_n shall_v be_v deface_v and_o defile_v by_o they_o and_o too_o be_v short_a scarce_o shall_v they_o be_v good_a scholar_n and_o therefore_o much_o less_o good_a master_n you_o see_v then_o what_o eliu_n mean_v to_o show_v in_o say_v that_o the_o great_a man_n shall_v â—â—t_n always_o be_v wise_n nor_o the_o age_a man_n always_o the_o man_n of_o best_a understanding_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v we_o must_v not_o make_v a_o general_a rule_n too_o say_v this_o man_n be_v advance_v too_o high_a estate_n and_o authority_n and_o therefore_o he_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o man_n of_o knowledge_n we_o must_v not_o gather_v any_o such_o consequent_a of_o it_o and_o why_o for_o god_n can_v well_o forsake_v the_o great_a one_o so_o as_o they_o shall_v become_v gross_a beast_n and_o the_o long_o they_o shall_v have_v live_v they_o shall_v but_o have_v misspend_v the_o more_o bread_n in_o be_v feed_v at_o god_n cost_n in_o so_o much_o that_o it_o have_v be_v better_a as_o you_o will_v say_v that_o a_o ox_n have_v be_v feed_v with_o it_o for_o it_o have_v be_v better_o bestow_v so_o then_o let_v we_o learn_v that_o for_o as_o much_o as_o god_n distribute_v his_o spirit_n to_o those_o who_o he_o intend_v to_o apply_v to_o his_o service_n they_o ought_v so_o much_o the_o better_a to_o employ_v themselves_o careful_o and_o in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o if_o they_o do_v otherwise_o it_o will_v appear_v that_o those_o which_o be_v take_v to_o be_v wise_a shall_v be_v utter_o blind_v so_o as_o they_o shall_v not_o know_v god_n according_a as_o god_n threaten_v by_o his_o prophet_n isaiah_n say_v that_o the_o age_a shall_v not_o see_v any_o whit_n and_o that_o the_o wise_a shall_v become_v brutish_a and_o utter_o dull_a we_o see_v they_o how_o god_n declare_v a_o much_o more_o horrible_a vengeance_n against_o the_o great_a man_n old_a man_n and_o governor_n than_o against_o the_o common_a people_n hereby_o we_o be_v warn_v that_o we_o must_v not_o attribute_v a_o infallible_a authority_n too_o they_o as_o though_o they_o can_v never_o errenor_n misgoverne_v other_o now_o if_o god_n do_v blind_v the_o old_a man_n great_a man_n and_o such_o as_o be_v in_o authority_n after_o that_o sort_n what_o shall_v become_v of_o they_o i_o pray_v you_o if_o god_n give_v they_o not_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o the_o cause_n why_o god_n make_v that_o threaten_n it_o be_v for_o man_n hypocrisy_n because_o they_o serve_v he_o but_o for_o countenance_n sake_n and_o their_o heart_n be_v far_o from_o he_o so_o as_o they_o protest_v too_o serve_v he_o with_o their_o mouth_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o give_v themselves_o to_o the_o tradition_n of_o man_n that_o be_v too_o say_v god_n reign_v not_o alone_o over_o they_o by_o his_o word_n but_o man_n have_v their_o own_o scope_n but_o god_n can_v not_o abide_v that_o his_o authority_n shall_v be_v so_o diminish_v and_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o he_o say_v i_o will_v bind_v the_o wise_a and_o take_v away_o understand_v and_o reason_n from_o the_o age_a wherefore_o if_o we_o desire_v to_o have_v god_n to_o govern_v we_o and_o too_o reign_v among_o we_o and_o to_o enjoy_v the_o gracious_a gift_n that_o be_v necessary_a for_o our_o salvation_n let_v we_o learn_v that_o it_o behove_v we_o to_o yield_v he_o the_o dominion_n and_o sovereignty_n over_o we_o and_o all_o of_o we_o both_o great_a and_o small_a must_v ftame_v ourselves_o to_o his_o obedience_n furthermore_o let_v we_o take_v his_o word_n for_o our_o rule_n and_o suffer_v ourselves_o to_o be_v govern_v by_o be_v teach_v god_n will_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v shepherd_n in_o his_o church_n to_o preach_v his_o word_n and_o that_o we_o shall_v receive_v correction_n and_o warning_n at_o shall_v be_v shepherd_n in_o the_o church_n to_o preach_v his_o word_n and_o that_o we_o shall_v receive_v correction_n and_o warning_n at_o their_o hand_n be_v not_o this_o do_v so_o thorough_o as_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v let_v we_o pray_v god_n to_o supply_v that_o default_n wherefore_o let_v we_o walk_v in_o such_o humility_n as_o our_o whole_a desire_n may_v be_v that_o god_n shall_v have_v all_o evil_n that_o be_v to_o wit_n the_o withdraw_a of_o ourselves_o from_o he_o which_o be_v the_o fountain_n of_o all_o righteousness_n for_o our_o life_n ought_v to_o be_v so_o rule_v as_o we_o shall_v obey_v god_n and_o seek_v he_o and_o walk_v as_o it_o be_v in_o his_o presence_n and_o therefore_o when_o a_o man_n be_v go_v away_o from_o he_o he_o can_v but_o run_v into_o all_o confusion_n and_o god_n give_v we_o and_o refer_v ourselves_o whole_o to_o his_o guide_n and_o furthermore_o let_v we_o understand_v that_o we_o must_v be_v content_v with_o the_o life_n that_o we_o have_v live_v whensoever_o it_o shall_v please_v god_n to_o take_v we_o out_o of_o the_o world_n true_a it_o be_v that_o when_o the_o scripture_n speak_v so_o of_o job_n and_o abraham_n that_o they_o die_v old_a man_n and_o full_a satisfy_v with_o day_n it_o be_v to_o express_v the_o temporal_a blessing_n that_o i_o have_v speak_v of_o but_o howsoever_o they_o fare_v neither_o job_n nor_o abraham_n nor_o such_o other_o like_o will_v ever_o have_v be_v satisfy_v with_o live_v in_o this_o world_n if_o they_o have_v not_o amed_z at_o a_o better_a and_o more_o excellent_a end_n you_o see_v they_o how_o it_o be_v requisite_a that_o god_n shall_v prolong_v their_o life_n to_o the_o end_n to_o give_v they_o the_o long_a experience_n of_o his_o goodness_n which_o thing_n be_v not_o now_o so_o requisite_a for_o we_o which_o have_v a_o more_o large_a declaration_n of_o god_n fatherly_a love_n towards_o we_o therefore_o it_o behove_v we_o to_o be_v satisfy_v with_o our_o life_n and_o too_o ready_a too_o die_v assure_v ourselves_o that_o he_o have_v adopt_v we_o for_o his_o child_n and_o that_o he_o will_v show_v himself_o our_o father_n both_o in_o life_n and_o death_n you_o see_v
