be_v also_o at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n and_o make_v request_n for_o we_o but_o this_o man_n because_o he_o endure_v ever_o have_v a_o everlasting_a priesthood_n wherefore_o he_o be_v able_a vouchsafe_v to_o prosper_v well_o our_o action_n counsel_n study_n labour_n and_o endeavour_n that_o he_o will_v for_o his_o exceed_a goodness_n so_o direct_v our_o labour_n that_o no_o other_o event_n may_v follow_v they_o but_o such_o as_o himself_o know_v may_n most_o serve_v for_o his_o glory_n and_o our_o salvation_n we_o in_o the_o mean_a season_n must_v do_v our_o duty_n diligent_o and_o leave_v the_o event_n to_o god_n the_o sum_n of_o all_o be_v we_o pray_v that_o god_n will_v bury_v in_o we_o evil_a lust_n and_o desire_n and_o that_o himself_o alone_o will_v work_v perfect_o in_o we_o by_o his_o spirit_n that_o so_o we_o be_v furnish_v and_o uphold_v with_o his_o divine_a grace_n may_v fulfil_v our_o duty_n and_o be_v answerable_a to_o our_o call_n object_n the_o former_a petition_n do_v desire_v also_o that_o we_o may_v right_o perform_v our_o duty_n therefore_o this_o petition_n be_v superfluous_a answ_n we_o do_v not_o crave_v here_o altogether_o the_o same_o thing_n which_o in_o the_o former_a we_o pray_v for_o for_o in_o the_o former_a we_o desire_v that_o god_n will_v begin_v his_o kingdom_n in_o we_o by_o rule_v we_o by_o his_o spirit_n who_o regenerate_v our_o will_n that_o so_o henceforward_o we_o right_o perform_v our_o duty_n may_v yield_v all_o obedience_n to_o our_o king_n but_o in_o this_o petition_n we_o desire_v that_o in_o perform_v right_o and_o faithful_o our_o duty_n we_o may_v execute_v the_o will_n of_o god_n or_o there_o we_o crave_v that_o the_o church_n may_v be_v and_o be_v preserve_v and_o glorify_v here_o we_o pray_v that_o every_o man_n in_o the_o church_n may_v perform_v his_o duty_n aright_o as_o become_v he_o petition_n the_o coherence_n of_o these_o three_o first_o petition_n we_o be_v to_o observe_v here_o by_o the_o way_n what_o be_v the_o coherence_n and_o difference_n between_o these_o three_o former_a petition_n they_o be_v so_o link_v together_o that_o one_o consist_v not_o without_o the_o other_o but_o like_a as_o the_o three_o petition_n serve_v for_o the_o second_o so_o do_v the_o second_o for_o the_o first_o for_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v not_o hallow_v or_o sanctify_v except_o those_o mean_n be_v put_v whereby_o it_o be_v advance_v and_o those_o mean_n be_v the_o duty_n of_o every_o particular_a man_n calling_n and_o vocation_n now_o these_o petition_n differ_v on_o this_o wise_a in_o the_o first_o we_o desire_v sanctification_n or_o the_o true_a knowledge_n and_o magnify_v of_o god_n they_o the_o difference_n between_o they_o and_o all_o his_o work_n and_o counsel_n in_o the_o second_o the_o gather_n preservation_n and_o government_n of_o the_o church_n that_o god_n will_v rule_v we_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o word_n defend_v and_o protect_v we_o and_o deliver_v we_o from_o all_o evil_n both_o of_o crime_n and_o pain_n in_o the_o three_o that_o every_o one_o particular_o in_o their_o vocation_n may_v obey_v god_n that_o be_v that_o every_o man_n be_v with_o diligence_n occupy_v in_o his_o proper_a duty_n and_o function_n and_o direct_v all_o thing_n to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o take_v well_o in_o worth_n whatsoever_o god_n send_v on_o he_o 3._o why_o this_o petition_n be_v necessary_a this_o petition_n be_v necessary_a 1._o that_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n may_v come_v whereof_o we_o speak_v in_o the_o second_o petition_n for_o except_o god_n himself_o bring_v to_o pass_v that_o every_o one_o in_o his_o call_n and_o duty_n do_v diligent_o his_o will_n this_o kingdom_n can_v be_v settle_v flourish_n and_o be_v preserve_v 2._o that_o we_o may_v be_v in_o his_o kingdom_n for_o except_o we_o do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n we_o can_v be_v citizen_n of_o his_o kingdom_n and_o we_o be_v not_o able_a of_o ourselves_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o corruption_n of_o our_o nature_n to_o do_v his_o will_n if_o god_n minister_v not_o strength_n unto_o we_o and_o he_o give_v we_o not_o ability_n except_o we_o desire_v it_o therefore_o we_o must_v desire_v of_o he_o that_o we_o may_v do_v it_o object_n that_o which_o be_v always_o do_v and_o shall_v certain_o come_v to_o pass_v though_o we_o not_o to_o be_v desire_v that_o it_o be_v do_v answ_n there_o be_v a_o fallacy_n in_o the_o major_a proposition_n put_v that_o for_o a_o cause_n which_o be_v no_o cause_n because_o we_o do_v not_o therefore_o desire_v that_o god_n will_v be_v do_v as_o if_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v do_v if_o we_o shall_v not_o desire_v it_o but_o we_o desire_v it_o for_o other_o cause_n namely_o that_o all_o event_n may_v be_v good_a and_o prosperous_a unto_o we_o for_o event_n shall_v not_o be_v good_a unto_o we_o neither_o tend_v to_o our_o safety_n except_o we_o submit_v they_o to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n so_o that_o we_o desire_v that_o only_o to_o be_v do_v which_o he_o have_v decree_v and_o will_v have_v do_v the_o minor_a also_o of_o this_o reason_n we_o deny_v for_o it_o be_v false_a 1._o as_o concern_v the_o call_n and_o vocation_n of_o every_o man_n because_o they_o that_o desire_v not_o that_o they_o be_v able_a in_o their_o vocation_n to_o do_v their_o duty_n right_o faithful_o and_o happy_o the_o same_o shall_v never_o do_v it_o 2._o it_o be_v false_a also_o as_o concern_v god_n decree_n because_o god_n have_v decree_v many_o event_n but_o yet_o so_o as_o that_o he_o have_v hereof_o christ_n add_v here_o this_o clause_n as_o it_o be_v in_o heaven_n for_o two_o cause_n 1._o to_o describe_v and_o draw_v we_o a_o pattern_n and_o example_n of_o perfection_n whereunto_o we_o must_v strive_v 2._o that_o by_o this_o desire_n of_o perfection_n we_o may_v be_v assure_v that_o god_n will_v give_v we_o here_o the_o beginning_n 6.38_o luke_n 8.18_o of_o who_o god_n will_v be_v
