nature_n no_o man_n can_v do_v it_o unless_o he_o have_v art_n and_o time_n about_o it_o so_o when_o the_o spirit_n come_v into_o the_o heart_n than_o it_o make_v a_o man_n to_o do_v more_o than_o he_o can_v natural_o do_v water_n you_o know_v of_o itself_o be_v cold_a but_o if_o you_o will_v have_v it_o of_o another_o quality_n than_o you_o must_v put_v a_o quality_n of_o fire_n in_o it_o so_o natural_o can_v do_v therefore_o examine_v what_o new_a habit_n and_o quality_n be_v in_o you_o that_o be_v whether_o you_o have_v new_a habit_n of_o patience_n love_n hope_v experience_n that_o be_v as_o patience_n beget_v experience_n and_o experience_n hope_v so_o where_o the_o spirit_n be_v it_o do_v beget_v new_a habit_n and_o quality_n in_o the_o soul_n by_o which_o it_o be_v able_a to_o use_v those_o habit_n to_o good_a when_o we_o have_v they_o for_o herein_o appear_v the_o power_n and_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o spirit_n not_o only_o to_o give_v spiritual_a life_n and_o strength_n but_o also_o to_o enable_v we_o to_o the_o use_n of_o that_o strength_n for_o the_o strengthen_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n there_o may_v be_v quality_n and_o habit_n in_o the_o soul_n and_o yet_o want_v of_o power_n to_o use_v they_o as_o for_o example_n a_o man_n that_o be_v asleep_a he_o have_v habit_n and_o quality_n but_o he_o want_v power_n to_o use_v they_o so_o it_o be_v with_o those_o that_o be_v not_o strengthen_v in_o the_o inward_a man_n but_o he_o that_o have_v the_o spirit_n have_v power_n withal_o to_o use_v those_o habit_n to_o good_a therefore_o it_o be_v say_v that_o they_o speak_v as_o the_o spirit_n give_v they_o utterance_n that_o be_v they_o have_v power_n from_o the_o spirit_n to_o speak_v to_o do_v and_o use_v those_o habit_n that_o be_v in_o they_o

memory_n this_o be_v a_o natural_a strength_n or_o in_o other_o quality_n of_o the_o mind_n or_o else_o when_o a_o man_n be_v strong_a in_o the_o part_n of_o his_o body_n these_o be_v natural_a strength_n but_o this_o be_v not_o the_o strength_n that_o be_v here_o mean_v second_o there_o be_v a_o supernatural_a strength_n and_o this_o be_v two_o fold_n the_o first_o be_v a_o supernatural_a strength_n which_o be_v receive_v from_o the_o evil_a spirit_n which_o be_v when_o satan_n shall_v join_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o a_o man_n and_o add_v a_o supernatural_a strength_n and_o so_o make_v he_o to_o do_v more_o or_o suffer_v more_o than_o otherwise_o by_o nature_n he_o be_v able_a to_o do_v with_o this_o spirit_n be_v all_o the_o enemy_n of_o the_o church_n strengthen_v paul_n reason_n wherefore_o we_o shall_v be_v strong_a in_o the_o inward_a man_n and_o they_o be_v these_o the_o first_o reason_n wherefore_o we_o shall_v be_v strong_a in_o the_o 1._o inner_a man_n be_v this_o because_o it_o will_v fit_v we_o for_o many_o employment_n that_o be_v it_o will_v make_v we_o go_v through_o much_o work_n with_o great_a ease_n to_o perform_v the_o weighty_a duty_n in_o religion_n in_o such_o manner_n as_o otherwise_o we_o can_v never_o be_v able_a to_o perform_v and_o this_o shall_v persuade_v man_n the_o rather_o to_o pray_v earnest_o for_o this_o because_o god_n reward_v man_n according_a to_o their_o work_n that_o be_v it_o be_v not_o for_o beauty_n riches_n or_o dignity_n that_o move_v god_n to_o give_v grace_n and_o glory_n unto_o any_o but_o according_a to_o their_o work_n a_o good_a reason_n it_o be_v therefore_o to_o persuade_v man_n to_o be_v strong_a in_o the_o inner_a man_n that_o they_o may_v be_v able_a to_o go_v through_o great_a matter_n for_o god_n and_o that_o with_o great_a strength_n and_o this_o shall_v make_v man_n to_o beg_v the_o spirit_n because_o he_o work_v in_o we_o effectual_o to_o the_o strengthen_n of_o we_o in_o the_o inward_a man_n the_o second_o reason_n why_o you_o shall_v desire_v to_o be_v strong_a 2._o in_o the_o inward_a man_n be_v this_o because_o it_o bring_v most_o comfort_n and_o chearfulnes_n into_o the_o soul._n first_o because_o it_o make_v we_o do_v all_o that_o we_o do_v with_o facility_n and_o easiness_n that_o which_o we_o do_v be_v easy_a unto_o we_o as_o for_o example_n a_o man_n that_o be_v weak_a in_o judgement_n and_o understanding_n any_o high_a point_n of_o religion_n be_v weariness_n unto_o he_o because_o he_o want_v a_o capacity_n to_o conceive_v now_o that_o which_o be_v not_o right_o conceive_v or_o understand_v he_o have_v no_o comfort_n nor_o delight_n in_o it_o but_o it_o be_v with_o irksomeness_n &_o much_o weariness_n unto_o nature_n where_o as_o the_o same_o thing_n unto_o a_o man_n of_o large_a capacity_n they_o be_v easy_a unto_o he_o and_o he_o delight_v in_o they_o second_o the_o more_o strength_n a_o man_n have_v in_o the_o inward_a 2._o
the_o natural_a man_n do_v not_o hate_v the_o evil_a of_o sin_n otherwise_o then_o as_o it_o bring_v punishment_n second_o i_o do_v delight_n in_o the_o law_n of_o god_n in_o the_o inward_a man_n that_o be_v howsoever_o i_o be_o captivate_v and_o violent_o carry_v unto_o the_o commit_n of_o sin_n yet_o it_o be_v against_o the_o desire_n of_o my_o soul_n he_o have_v no_o pleasure_n he_o can_v take_v no_o delight_n in_o it_o for_o his_o delight_n be_v in_o the_o inward_a man_n but_o the_o natural_a man_n look_v upon_o the_o law_n of_o god_n as_o burden_n and_o therefore_o he_o will_v not_o submit_v himself_o unto_o they_o because_o he_o be_v not_o strong_a in_o the_o inward_a man_n he_o promise_v but_o he_o perform_v not_o he_o yield_v and_o yield_v not_o that_o be_v to_o some_o thing_n but_o no_o to_o every_o thing_n &_o thus_o much_o for_o this_o last_o difference_n betwixt_o natural_a strength_n and_o the_o spiritual_a strength_n second_o be_v it_o so_o that_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n be_v to_o be_v desire_v above_o all_o thing_n then_o in_o the_o second_o place_n use._n it_o may_v serve_v for_o exhortation_n to_o all_o man_n that_o they_o will_v labour_v to_o grow_v strong_a in_o the_o inward_a man_n and_o that_o they_o will_v now_o at_o the_o last_o gather_v the_o fragment_n of_o their_o thought_n and_o desire_n which_o have_v be_v former_o set_v to_o get_v other_o thing_n &_o whole_o to_o employ_v they_o for_o the_o get_n of_o this_o strength_n and_o so_o much_o the_o rather_o because_o other_o thing_n be_v as_o the_o husk_n without_o the_o kernel_n or_o as_o the_o scabbard_n without_o the_o sword_n which_o will_v do_v a_o man_n no_o good_a when_o he_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o they_o as_o for_o example_n to_o be_v strong_a in_o riches_n honour_n credit_n and_o this_o be_v all_o the_o strength_n that_o most_o man_n desire_v what_o good_a will_v these_o do_v when_o you_o come_v to_o wrestle_v with_o sin_n and_o death_n yet_o man_n be_v violent_a after_o these_o but_o to_o be_v strong_a in_o the_o inward_a man_n who_o seek_v or_o inquire_v after_o it_o i_o know_v every_o man_n desire_v to_o be_v strong_a in_o all_o earthly_a strength_n but_o i_o beseech_v you_o above_o all_o thing_n labour_v to_o be_v strong_a in_o the_o inward_a man_n it_o be_v the_o folly_n weakness_n and_o sickness_n of_o man_n they_o look_v all_o without_o door_n and_o upon_o outward_a thing_n that_o be_v to_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o outward_a man_n but_o they_o seldom_o or_o never_o look_v within_o at_o all_o that_o be_v to_o strengthen_v the_o inward_a man_n oh_o that_o i_o can_v persuade_v you_o as_o i_o say_v before_o to_o gather_v up_o your_o thought_n and_o desire_n together_o and_o set_v the_o soul_n in_o assurance_n of_o grace_n that_o you_o may_v mortify_v these_o inordinate_a affection_n which_o keep_v back_o the_o strengthen_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n as_o covetousness_n pride_n pleasure_n self-love_n vain_a glory_n and_o the_o like_a then_o it_o will_v be_v a_o easy_a work_n and_o no_o burden_n unto_o you_o to_o strengthen_v the_o inward_a man_n but_o here_o man_n stick_v the_o way_n be_v too_o narrow_a it_o be_v a_o hard_a matter_n to_o persuade_v man_n to_o it_o that_o be_v to_o make_v they_o believe_v there_o be_v such_o excellency_n in_o the_o one_o &_o not_o in_o the_o other_o that_o grace_n be_v the_o better_a part_n therefore_o that_o i_o may_v the_o better_o prevail_v with_o you_o to_o attend_v to_o the_o strengthen_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n i_o will_v lay_v down_o some_o motive_n to_o incite_v you_o to_o it_o the_o first_o motive_n to_o move_v you_o to_o strengthen_v the_o inward_a man_n be_v this_o because_o your_o comfort_n lie_v most_o in_o the_o inward_a man_n there_o be_v all_o your_o comfort_n and_o therefore_o to_o strengthen_v that_o be_v to_o add_v unto_o your_o comfort_n as_o for_o example_n the_o sun_n bring_v comfort_n with_o it_o because_o that_o bring_v light_a so_o the_o more_o of_o the_o inward_a man_n you_o have_v the_o more_o light_a and_o joy_n now_o the_o reason_n wherefore_o the_o strengthen_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n bring_v the_o more_o comfort_n be_v because_o it_o be_v the_o great_a faculty_n and_o the_o great_a the_o faculty_n be_v the_o great_a be_v the_o joy_n or_o sorrow_n as_o for_o example_n take_v a_o man_n that_o be_v trouble_v in_o mind_n none_o so_o humble_a none_o so_o penitent_a none_o so_o sorrowful_a as_o he_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v that_o a_o sound_a heart_n will_v bear_v his_o infirmity_n but_o a_o wound_a spirit_n who_o can_v bear_v that_o be_v a_o man_n may_v be_v able_a to_o speak_v of_o any_o grief_n but_o the_o grief_n of_o a_o trouble_a mind_n who_o can_v express_v on_o the_o contrary_n take_v a_o man_n that_o be_v at_o peace_n with_o god_n who_o so_o joyful_a and_o comfortable_a as_o he_o now_o the_o outward_a man_n be_v the_o lesser_a faculty_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v capable_a of_o the_o less_o comfort_n that_o be_v it_o do_v not_o in_o any_o measure_n know_v what_o true_a comfort_n and_o joy_n there_o be_v in_o the_o inward_a man_n again_o what_o joy_n the_o outward_a man_n have_v in_o these_o outward_a thing_n it_o be_v but_o according_a to_o the_o opinion_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n that_o be_v the_o comfort_n be_v no_o more_o than_o they_o be_v esteem_v of_o the_o inward_a man_n if_o the_o inward_a man_n do_v not_o esteem_v they_o as_o worthy_a the_o rejoice_v in_o they_o will_v not_o bring_v comfort_n again_o all_o the_o pain_n and_o labour_n and_o all_o thing_n else_o you_o do_v bestow_v upon_o the_o outward_a man_n be_v but_o lose_a labour_n that_o will_v do_v no_o good_a bring_v no_o sound_a peace_n to_o the_o spirit_n and_o who_o will_v bestow_v labour_n on_o a_o vain_a thing_n but_o if_o you_o strengthen_v the_o inward_a man_n the_o labour_n that_o you_o take_v about_o that_o will_v bring_v you_o great_a advantage_n it_o will_v arm_v you_o against_o all_o loss_n and_o cross_n and_o reproach_n and_o poverty_n that_o you_o shall_v meet_v withal_o in_o the_o world_n while_o you_o be_v in_o the_o way_n to_o heaven_n again_o consider_v that_o though_o you_o be_v strong_a in_o the_o outward_a man_n yet_o you_o be_v movable_a subject_a to_o shake_v and_o fleet_v but_o it_o be_v otherwise_o with_o the_o inward_a man_n it_o make_v a_o christian_a steadfast_a and_o immovable_a that_o be_v it_o will_v so_o establish_v the_o heart_n in_o grace_n that_o he_o will_v stand_v firm_a unto_o christ_n in_o all_o estate_n it_o be_v with_o the_o outward_a man_n as_o it_o be_v with_o the_o sea_n though_o he_o strength_n of_o the_o stream_n run_v one_o way_n yet_o the_o wind_n blow_v contrary_a it_o move_v and_o stir_v and_o strive_v and_o disquiet_v it_o when_o loss_n and_o cross_n come_v they_o break_v the_o frame_n and_o strength_n of_o the_o outward_a man_n but_o the_o inward_a man_n be_v like_o the_o firm_a ground_n let_v the_o wind_n blow_v never_o so_o violent_a yet_o it_o move_v not_o it_o stand_v fast_o again_o in_o the_o abundance_n of_o outward_a thing_n there_o be_v no_o true_a contentment_n neither_o in_o the_o want_n of_o they_o but_o where_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n be_v there_o be_v no_o cause_n of_o dejectedness_n this_o difference_n we_o shall_v see_v in_o adam_n and_o paul_n adam_n though_o he_o be_v lord_n of_o all_o thing_n and_o have_v the_o rule_n of_o all_o the_o creature_n yet_o when_o he_o be_v weak_a in_o the_o inward_a man_n what_o joy_n have_v he_o nay_o what_o fear_n have_v he_o when_o he_o hide_v himself_o in_o the_o garden_n again_o look_v upon_o paul_n who_o in_o the_o want_n of_o these_o outward_a thing_n be_v not_o deject_v at_o all_o as_o in_o act_n 16._o it_o be_v say_v that_o when_o paul_n and_o 16._o silas_n be_v in_o prison_n in_o the_o stock_n the_o prisoner_n sing_v for_o joy_n now_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n of_o it_o but_o this_o because_o they_o be_v strong_a in_o the_o inward_a man_n and_o therefore_o you_o see_v that_o all_o true_a peace_n be_v that_o which_o come_v from_o within_o and_o when_o you_o rejoice_v in_o that_o your_o rejoice_v be_v good_a that_o be_v you_o stand_v upon_o a_o good_a bottom_n alas_o you_o think_v to_o have_v contentment_n in_o your_o riches_n but_o you_o will_v be_v befool_v they_o will_v deceive_v you_o if_o you_o build_v upon_o they_o you_o will_v build_v without_o a_o foundation_n and_o go_v upon_o another_o man_n leg_n now_o be_v it_o not_o far_o better_a for_o you_o to_o get_v leg_n of_o your_o own_o and_o to_o build_v upon_o a_o sure_a foundation_n and_o this_o you_o shall_v do_v if_o you_o strengthen_v the_o inward_a man_n again_o consider_v if_o you_o
assume_v body_n and_o show_v of_o grace_n that_o be_v a_o common_a spirit_n without_o the_o life_n of_o grace_n the_o three_o property_n of_o assume_v body_n they_o be_v unconstant_a that_o be_v assume_v body_n walk_v for_o a_o time_n but_o they_o proper_a walk_v not_o always_o even_o so_o if_o you_o have_v but_o a_o common_a spirit_n you_o will_v not_o be_v constant_a in_o good_a but_o off_o and_o on_o from_o the_o rule_n a_o man_n that_o be_v live_v in_o christ_n you_o shall_v find_v he_o live_v and_o move_v and_o do_v the_o action_n of_o the_o new_a man_n a_o man_n that_o have_v a_o common_a spirit_n may_v do_v some_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a he_o may_v keep_v and_o press_v down_o sin_n for_o a_o while_n but_o not_o always_o nor_o then_o neither_o as_o it_o be_v sin_n but_o because_o it_o cross_v his_o profit_n or_o pleasure_n or_o some_o such_o thing_n again_o he_o may_v have_v some_o taste_n or_o relish_n o_o spiritual_a thing_n but_o he_o be_v not_o cleanse_v or_o purge_v by_o they_o again_o they_o may_v walk_v as_o a_o live_a man_n walk_v that_o be_v perform_v holy_a duty_n but_o they_o be_v not_o constant_a in_o holy_a duty_n neither_o do_v they_o perform_v they_o in_o obedience_n but_o out_o of_o self_n love_n that_o be_v they_o be_v still_o ebb_v and_o seldom_o flow_v they_o omit_v ostner_o than_o they_o perform_v therefore_o let_v i_o exhort_v you_o all_o you_o that_o be_v alive_a and_o have_v be_v dead_a be_v you_o careful_a to_o prize_v your_o life_n and_o you_o that_o have_v be_v alive_a and_o now_o be_v dead_a that_o be_v you_o that_o have_v fall_v from_o your_o holiness_n and_o zeal_n and_o have_v lose_v your_o first_o love_n and_o strength_n labour_v now_o to_o renew_v it_o again_o but_o you_o that_o be_v alive_a and_o yet_o be_v fall_v let_v i_o exhort_v you_o to_o strengthen_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v ready_a to_o die_v if_o there_o be_v any_o here_o such_o let_v they_o now_o humble_v themselves_o and_o seek_v the_o spirit_n with_o earnestness_n that_o they_o may_v be_v renew_v that_o they_o may_v be_v strengthen_v and_o quicken_v to_o good_a and_o receive_v to_o favour_n again_o but_o if_o you_o will_v not_o but_o continue_v in_o this_o condition_n still_o you_o have_v but_o a_o name_n that_o you_o be_v alive_a but_o indeed_o you_o be_v dead_a in_o rom._n 6._o it_o 〈◊〉_d be_v say_v that_o they_o that_o die_v grace_n see_v in_o it_o some_o leaven_n as_o i_o may_v say_v of_o grace_n some_o taste_n of_o grace_n such_o a_o grace_n as_o be_v bestow_v upon_o a_o man_n as_o a_o common_a gift_n it_o help_v a_o man_n to_o do_v such_o a_o particular_a business_n it_o make_v he_o meek_a it_o make_v he_o temperate_a it_o make_v he_o to_o understand_v his_o profession_n it_o make_v he_o able_a to_o rule_v etc._n etc._n but_o yet_o this_o property_n it_o have_v not_o to_o have_v a_o general_a influence_n into_o all_o that_o a_o man_n do_v into_o all_o his_o action_n for_o that_o be_v only_o the_o property_n of_o save_a grace_n it_o enable_v we_o to_o please_v god_n in_o all_o thing_n so_o we_o see_v brief_o what_o grace_n be_v now_o i_o say_v this_o grace_n strengthen_v we_o wheresoever_o it_o be_v it_o make_v a_o man_n strong_a in_o the_o inner_a man_n it_o make_v he_o strong_a able_a to_o do_v the_o duty_n of_o new_a obedience_n he_o be_v not_o only_o willing_a and_o desirous_a and_o purpose_v to_o as_o it_o be_v it_o take_v a_o man_n off_o from_o that_o sufficiency_n that_o every_o man_n seek_v to_o have_v in_o his_o own_o sphere_n in_o his_o own_o nature_n it_o teach_v a_o man_n to_o know_v that_o he_o be_v not_o able_a to_o think_v a_o good_a thought_n nor_o to_o do_v a_o good_a work_n of_o himself_o again_o i_o answer_v though_o it_o be_v a_o quality_n and_o that_o our_o strength_n be_v from_o god_n immediate_o yet_o god_n will_v have_v strength_n we_o to_o use_v mean_n and_o instrument_n wherein_o he_o himself_o help_v we_o to_o do_v for_o it_o be_v true_a if_o any_o man_n will_v trust_v to_o this_o habitual_a grace_n which_o i_o say_v be_v a_o inherent_a quality_n wrought_v in_o the_o heart_n by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n if_o any_o man_n will_v grow_v careless_a in_o the_o strength_n of_o this_o grace_n and_o say_v well_o i_o be_o now_o a_o man_n grow_v strong_a i_o have_v now_o get_v some_o good_a measure_n of_o grace_n therefore_o now_o i_o will_v venture_v upon_o occasion_n of_o sin_n etc._n etc._n here_o a_o man_n make_v flesh_n his_o arm_n though_o he_o do_v trust_v to_o grace_v for_o he_o ought_v not_o so_o to_o do_v he_o ought_v to_o look_v up_o to_o god_n for_o another_o transient_a exciting_a and_o assist_a grace_n beside_o this_o inherent_a quality_n which_o i_o speak_v of_o to_o have_v a_o dependence_n upon_o he_o and_o yet_o not_o of_o those_o strong_a and_o sweet_a perfume_n again_o whereas_o you_o say_v you_o have_v not_o that_o great_a strength_n of_o spirit_n wrought_v in_o you_o it_o be_v no_o great_a matter_n for_o the_o present_a the_o lord_n do_v not_o call_v you_o to_o these_o trouble_n he_o put_v you_o not_o upon_o that_o service_n you_o must_v know_v that_o such_o thing_n as_o these_o that_o strengthen_v the_o spirit_n god_n give_v they_o not_o to_o boast_v of_o if_o a_o man_n have_v they_o now_o what_o will_v he_o do_v he_o will_v boast_v of_o they_o such_o excellent_a gift_n as_o these_o be_v not_o for_o and_o through_o temptation_n it_o will_v vanquish_v and_o subdue_v corruption_n and_o bring_v he_o on_o his_o knee_n and_o so_o he_o fall_v flat_a before_o the_o lord_n in_o such_o a_o case_n i_o say_v a_o man_n that_o have_v his_o corruption_n subdue_v though_o it_o be_v a_o trial_n ten-times_o great_a and_o more_o sore_o yet_o he_o may_v live_v upon_o better_a term_n with_o the_o lord_n and_o more_o comfortable_o than_o another_o man_n with_o a_o light_a cross_n as_o it_o fall_v out_o many_o time_n in_o the_o time_n of_o war_n and_o hostility_n simile_n between_o two_o city_n or_o nation_n the_o weak_a part_n in_o the_o time_n of_o war_n endure_v and_o sustain_v more_o inconvenience_n and_o bloodshed_n and_o loss_n of_o man_n then_o after_o the_o full_a conquest_n be_v make_v especial_o if_o the_o government_n of_o the_o conqueror_n be_v moderate_a and_o just_a as_o it_o be_v sometime_o so_o as_o long_o as_o a_o man_n stand_v out_o with_o god_n in_o pride_n of_o spirit_n and_o will_v not_o yield_v he_o live_v far_o more_o uncomfortable_o then_o when_o he_o be_v true_o humble_v and_o subject_v to_o god_n three_o and_o last_o these_o general_a and_o great_a affliction_n may_v be_v bear_v more_o comfortable_o and_o a_o less_o may_n more_o disquiet_a and_o trouble_v the_o heart_n because_o when_o a_o man_n have_v be_v afflict_v but_o in_o some_o one_o thing_n or_o a_o few_o thing_n and_o have_v many_o outward_a contentment_n and_o comfort_n yet_o remain_v to_o he_o this_o be_v the_o usual_a course_n of_o man_n in_o such_o a_o case_n they_o think_v when_o their_o spirit_n be_v bruise_v and_o wound_v with_o grief_n of_o heart_n they_o have_v lose_v such_o a_o friend_n they_o have_v lose_v part_n of_o such_o a_o estate_n or_o credit_n then_o present_o they_o fall_v to_o other_o thing_n that_o be_v leave_v they_o and_o they_o think_v to_o make_v themselves_o whole_a there_o when_o they_o have_v lose_v their_o contentment_n in_o one_o particular_a they_o enjoy_v they_o think_v to_o make_v they_o whole_a and_o to_o supply_v it_o with_o the_o outward_a thing_n that_o remain_v this_o succeed_v not_o because_o the_o wound_n that_o be_v make_v in_o the_o spirit_n by_o the_o loss_n of_o that_o whatsoever_o it_o be_v thou_o be_v cross_v with_o it_o may_v be_v the_o anger_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v mix_v with_o it_o it_o may_v be_v the_o arrow_n of_o the_o lord_n stick_v in_o thy_o soul._n now_o if_o that_o be_v thy_o case_n all_o the_o outward_a application_n of_o comfort_n of_o the_o world_n will_v not_o do_v the_o turn_n only_o that_o hand_n that_o every_o prop_n that_o he_o have_v nothing_o to_o rest_v on_o as_o the_o dove_n that_o noah_n send_v that_o have_v no_o rest_n for_o the_o sole_a of_o her_o foot_n till_o she_o return_v to_o the_o ark_n this_o force_v a_o man_n of_o necessity_n to_o the_o lord_n now_o though_o the_o wound_n be_v ten_o time_n more_o grievous_a and_o heavy_a come_v to_o the_o right_a physician_n the_o lord_n that_o make_v the_o wound_n he_o can_v cure_v it_o and_o comfort_v a_o man_n again_o if_o a_o man_n have_v but_o a_o scratch_n with_o a_o pin_n if_o he_o have_v a_o unskilful_a chirurgeon_n the_o wound_n go_v on_o to_o rankle_v more_o and_o more_o and_o at_o last_o it_o cost_v a_o man_n his_o life_n on_o the_o other_o side_n if_o a_o man_n have_v a_o wound_n that_o be_v dangerous_a if_o he_o go_v to_o one_o that_o be_v skilful_a this_o man_n recover_v and_o live_v in_o the_o world_n so_o many_o time_n many_o man_n live_v with_o disquiet_a mind_n they_o go_v to_o the_o world_n and_o seek_v to_o be_v whole_a there_o they_o seek_v their_o physician_n there_o and_o make_v the_o wound_n that_o be_v make_v worse_o and_o the_o latter_a end_n be_v worse_a than_o the_o beginning_n but_o now_o though_o a_o man_n be_v never_o so_o empty_a of_o comfort_n and_o be_v strike_v down_o and_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n be_v never_o so_o heavy_a upon_o he_o if_o he_o go_v to_o god_n and_o seek_v to_o he_o the_o lord_n be_v able_a to_o make_v he_o a_o comfortable_a man_n again_o and_o to_o revive_v his_o spirit_n and_o bring_v he_o again_o from_o the_o grave_n so_o we_o see_v that_o objection_n full_o answer_v that_o though_o we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o stand_v under_o light_a affliction_n we_o may_v be_v able_a and_o strong_a enough_o to_o bear_v great_a so_o much_o for_o this_o time_n the_o law_n of_o sin_n and_o grace_n combat_v rom._n 7._o 23._o but_o i_o see_v another_o law_n in_o my_o member_n war_a against_o the_o law_n of_o my_o mind_n and_o lead_v i_o captive_a to_o the_o war_n and_o rumour_n of_o war_n such_o thing_n as_o be_v terrible_a to_o we_o every_o man_n be_v ready_a to_o be_v affect_v &_o affright_v with_o thing_n of_o this_o nature_n change_n of_o state_n loss_n of_o good_n abreption_n of_o life_n these_o thing_n be_v natural_o terrible_a to_o we_o the_o very_a hear_n of_o they_o but_o this_o now_o be_v a_o war_n within_o which_o be_v much_o more_o dangerous_a and_o concern_v every_o one_o of_o we_o to_o be_v affect_v with_o a_o thousand_o time_n more_o for_o it_o be_v a_o deadly_a war_n a_o war_n that_o devour_v the_o soul_n the_o other_o destroy_v only_o the_o body_n this_o be_v a_o war_n which_o kill_v we_o with_o a_o everlasting_a death_n when_o as_o the_o other_o be_v only_o the_o loss_n of_o a_o temporal_a life_n and_o this_o be_v a_o war_n which_o be_v for_o the_o most_o part_n forget_v and_o not_o mind_v for_o it_o be_v a_o fight_n that_o make_v no_o noise_n it_o come_v not_o with_o the_o sound_n of_o drum_n and_o trumpet_n it_o carry_v along_o with_o it_o no_o terrible_a appearance_n hence_o it_o be_v that_o we_o think_v of_o it_o but_o little_a now_o what_o do_v we_o serve_v for_o that_o be_v the_o watchman_n of_o
