to_o work_v only_o by_o mean_n but_o to_o acknowledge_v that_o god_n can_v and_o sometime_o do_v work_n without_o mean_n and_o instrument_n though_o he_o do_v usual_o work_v by_o mean_n and_o instrument_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v as_o great_a a_o evil_n on_o the_o one_o side_n to_o reject_v the_o instrument_n or_o mean_n that_o god_n use_v to_o work_v by_o because_o he_o have_v not_o absolute_o tie_v himself_o to_o they_o as_o on_o the_o other_o side_n to_o idolise_v mean_n or_o instrument_n because_o god_n do_v usual_o work_v by_o they_o therefore_o in_o the_o second_o place_n and_o comfort_n though_o some_o be_v more_o fluent_a in_o speak_v and_o have_v better_a utterance_n than_o other_o yet_o scripture_n all_o in_o who_o there_o be_v true_a spiritual_a life_n in_o some_o sort_n or_o other_o do_v so_o speak_v as_o to_o edify_v exhort_v and_o comfort_v one_o another_o let_v such_o therefore_o as_o be_v in_o this_o error_n beware_v how_o they_o entertain_v principle_n flesh_n to_o get_v the_o victory_n but_o rather_o to_o be_v the_o more_o frequent_a in_o spiritual_a duty_n and_o to_o be_v the_o more_o incessant_a in_o holy_a performance_n especial_o in_o prayer_n that_o so_o they_o may_v overcome_v the_o flesh_n that_o so_o oppose_v again_o second_o when_o the_o apostle_n press_v saint_n to_o spiritual_a duty_n he_o speak_v to_o they_o as_o know_v that_o though_o they_o carry_v flesh_n still_o about_o they_o yet_o that_o they_o have_v a_o spirit_n in_o they_o in_o which_o they_o be_v to_o act_v towards_o god_n and_o that_o though_o flesh_n be_v act_v in_o they_o yet_o at_o the_o same_o time_n that_o spirit_n may_v act_v in_o they_o and_o therefore_o when_o saint_n come_v to_o pray_v though_o the_o flesh_n do_v endeavour_n to_o put_v out_o the_o life_n of_o the_o spirit_n yet_o the_o spirit_n strive_v to_o mortify_v the_o flesh_n and_o though_o both_o act_n at_o the_o same_o time_n yet_o god_n be_v able_a to_o distinguish_v between_o what_o come_v from_o his_o own_o spirit_n which_o be_v always_o in_o his_o saint_n and_o what_o come_v from_o flesh_n in_o they_o and_o though_o the_o flesh_n do_v act_v its_o part_n yet_o jesus_n christ_n have_v by_o one_o offering_n do_v away_o all_o the_o corruption_n of_o the_o flesh_n in_o his_o people_n god_n can_v notwithstanding_o the_o flesh_n in_o they_o smell_v a_o sweet_a savour_n in_o their_o holy_a thing_n so_o that_o saint_n you_o have_v spirit_n in_o you_o as_o well_o as_o flesh_n you_o be_v not_o to_o neglect_v to_o perform_v spiritual_a duty_n because_o you_o do_v not_o see_v flesh_n whole_o subdue_v for_o that_o be_v never_o yet_o do_v in_o any_o saint_n while_o he_o remain_v in_o this_o tabernacle_n but_o in_o that_o spirit_n to_o act_n especial_o in_o prayer_n even_o when_o you_o find_v flesh_n also_o act_v for_o if_o you_o have_v but_o a_o spiritual_a desire_n to_o have_v that_o flesh_n subdue_v that_o desire_n come_v from_o the_o spirit_n and_o that_o spark_n be_v neglect_v may_v seem_v to_o die_v but_o if_o according_a to_o the_o rule_n of_o paul_n to_o timothy_n we_o stir_v up_o that_o gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n we_o have_v receive_v how_o weak_a soever_o it_o may_v seem_v to_o be_v that_o spark_n may_v grow_v up_o into_o a_o flame_n and_o get_v strength_n in_o a_o great_a measure_n to_o burn_v up_o that_o corruption_n that_o so_o trouble_n and_o burden_n we_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n give_v this_o rule_n to_o continue_v in_o prayer_n saint_n do_v you_o desire_v to_o have_v flesh_n subdue_v then_o continue_v so_o desire_v and_o be_v continual_o lift_v up_o your_o spirit_n to_o your_o god_n in_o prayer_n against_o it_o and_o that_o you_o may_v do_v so_o take_v all_o opportunity_n to_o retire_v yourself_o from_o other_o employment_n that_o you_o may_v lift_v up_o your_o soul_n unto_o god_n in_o prayer_n and_o do_v not_o content_v yourselves_o with_o bare_o have_v these_o desire_n and_o so_o be_v continual_o plunge_v yourselves_o in_o worldly_a employment_n in_o converse_v with_o sublunary_a thing_n but_o improve_v all_o opportunity_n to_o retire_v yourselves_o from_o converse_v with_o these_o thing_n for_o the_o enliven_a and_o enflame_v of_o your_o spirit_n and_o do_v not_o persuade_v yourselves_o that_o while_o you_o be_v discourse_v of_o your_o bargain_n and_o trade_n and_o land_n and_o live_n and_o clothing_n and_o i_o know_v not_o what_o that_o you_o pray_v as_o well_o as_o when_o you_o retire_v yourself_o into_o a_o private_a place_n to_o lift_v up_o your_o soul_n in_o secret_a to_o god_n in_o prayer_n for_o our_o saviour_n give_v you_o this_o direction_n when_o you_o pray_v enter_v into_o your_o closert_n and_o shut_v your_o door_n and_o pray_v to_o your_o father_n which_o be_v in_o against_o they_o be_v enemy_n of_o god_n and_o do_v fight_v against_o god_n i_o say_v it_o be_v probable_a that_o many_o be_v convince_v of_o this_o because_o god_n have_v so_o own_v his_o people_n and_o give_v they_o such_o victory_n over_o those_o vile_a wretch_n that_o do_v oppose_v they_o and_o former_o reproach_v they_o and_o say_v where_o be_v your_o god_n and_o now_o god_n appear_v to_o
