dispatch_a of_o those_o five_o thing_n now_o hence_o you_o see_v how_o those_o difficulty_n may_v be_v answer_v that_o i_o mention_v before_o for_o example_n it_o be_v say_v the_o promise_n be_v make_v to_o the_o seed_n yet_o the_o promise_n be_v make_v to_o we_o object_n and_o yet_o again_o the_o covenant_n be_v make_v with_o abraham_n how_o can_v all_o these_o stand_v together_o ans._n question_n we_o have_v to_o propound_v to_o you_o quest._n be_v this_o how_o a_o man_n shall_v know_v whether_o he_o be_v within_o
never_o be_v without_o he_o obliterate_v all_o old_a writing_n he_o have_v say_v he_o will_v give_v the_o holy_a ghost_n he_o have_v promise_v to_o give_v thou_o a_o new_a heart_n and_o a_o new_a spirit_n now_o consider_v this_o it_o be_v a_o part_n of_o his_o covenant_n go_v to_o the_o lord_n and_o beseech_v he_o to_o make_v good_a his_o covenant_n this_o be_v the_o way_n for_o thou_o to_o overcome_v it_o if_o thou_o go_v about_o it_o any_o other_o way_n thou_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o out-wrestle_a it_o belove_a for_o a_o man_n to_o think_v thus_o with_o himself_o to_o say_v i_o have_v receive_v grace_n i_o hope_v i_o have_v some_o strength_n therefore_o i_o will_v be_v bold_a to_o venture_v upon_o such_o a_o temptation_n or_o at_o least_o i_o hope_v by_o my_o promise_n by_o my_o vow_n &_o prayer_n and_o read_v one_o way_n one_o way_n or_o other_o to_o master_v it_o and_o overcome_v it_o this_o be_v not_o the_o way_n thou_o must_v go_v to_o god_n and_o make_v use_n of_o this_o covenant_n and_o beseech_v he_o to_o give_v thou_o strength_n for_o mark_v it_o god_n will_v not_o take_v this_o upon_o he_o to_o give_v we_o new_a heart_n and_o new_a spirit_n to_o sanctify_v we_o to_o make_v we_o new_a creature_n to_o crucify_v the_o flesh_n to_o weaken_v the_o dominion_n of_o sin_n he_o will_v not_o take_v this_o upon_o he_o and_o make_v a_o promise_n if_o we_o be_v able_a to_o do_v it_o but_o he_o know_v it_o be_v in_o his_o own_o power_n and_o he_o must_v do_v it_o for_o we_o and_o therefore_o in_o such_o a_o case_n we_o must_v go_v to_o he_o and_o beseech_v he_o to_o do_v it_o for_o know_v this_o when_o a_o man_n be_v in_o christ_n once_o when_o he_o be_v in_o the_o covenant_n he_o live_v by_o a_o principle_n without_o himself_o and_o not_o by_o one_o within_o himself_o as_o paul_n say_v i_o live_v by_o jesus_n christ_n that_o be_v he_o be_v without_o i_o and_o it_o be_v he_o still_o that_o give_v i_o strength_n therefore_o go_v to_o he_o if_o you_o ask_v the_o reason_n why_o will_v the_o lord_n have_v it_o so_o why_o may_v not_o a_o man_n have_v a_o sufficient_a habitual_a strength_n in_o himself_o by_o which_o he_o may_v be_v able_a to_o out-wrestle_a lust_n and_o to_o overcome_v temptation_n the_o reason_n be_v because_o no_o flesh_n shall_v rejoice_v in_o itself_o and_o therefore_o christ_n be_v make_v sanctification_n that_o be_v you_o derive_v it_o from_o he_o from_o day_n to_o day_n from_o time_n to_o time_n that_o you_o may_v not_o rejoice_v in_o yourselves_o but_o in_o he_o therefore_o let_v no_o man_n go_v about_o such_o a_o business_n in_o his_o own_o strength_n for_o a_o man_n to_o think_v belove_a by_o virtue_n of_o that_o habitual_a grace_n he_o have_v receive_v to_o be_v able_a to_o overcome_v he_o and_o suck_v draw_v out_o consolation_n from_o the_o dug_n from_o the_o promise_n for_o that_o be_v the_o meaning_n which_o he_o call_v the_o breast_n of_o consolation_n for_o he_o repeat_v the_o thence_o he_o grow_v up_o in_o love_n towards_o god_n i_o say_v he_o grow_v up_o in_o faith_n and_o love_n and_o in_o this_o act_n of_o faith_n be_v the_o spirit_n infuse_v into_o his_o heart_n this_o spirit_n be_v thus_o infuse_v write_v the_o law_n in_o his_o inward_a paâ—ts_n that_o be_v it_o that_o breed_v in_o he_o a_o holy_a disposition_n that_o enable_v he_o in_o some_o measure_n to_o keep_v what_o commandment_n there_o be_v what_o the_o rectitude_n be_v that_o the_o lord_n require_v and_o how_o to_o bring_v his_o heart_n to_o it_o but_o let_v he_o go_v about_o it_o as_o a_o christian_a that_o be_v let_v he_o believe_v the_o promise_n of_o pardon_n in_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o very_o believe_v of_o those_o promise_n will_v be_v able_a to_o cleanse_v and_o purge_v the_o heart_n from_o dead_a work_n in_o that_o place_n we_o then_o name_v and_o we_o can_v do_v no_o more_o but_o name_n it_o you_o shall_v find_v it_o heb._n 9_o 14._o 14._o how_o much_o more_o shall_v the_o blood_n of_o christ_n which_o by_o the_o eternal_a spirit_n offer_v himself_o without_o fault_n to_o god_n purge_v your_o conscience_n from_o dead_a work_n to_o serve_v the_o live_a
