lively_a nature_n but_o many_o time_n we_o may_v be_v deceive_v in_o that_o a_o woman_n many_o time_n think_v she_o be_v with_o child_n but_o if_o she_o find_v no_o motion_n nor_o stir_v it_o be_v a_o argument_n she_o be_v deceive_v so_o when_o a_o man_n think_v that_o he_o have_v faith_n in_o his_o heart_n but_o yet_o he_o find_v no_o life_n no_o motion_n no_o stir_v there_o be_v no_o work_n proceed_v from_o his_o faith_n it_o be_v a_o argument_n he_o be_v mistake_v he_o be_v deceive_v in_o it_o for_o if_o it_o be_v a_o right_a faith_n it_o will_v work_v there_o will_v be_v life_n and_o etc._n etc._n now_o to_o know_v whether_o you_o have_v the_o spirit_n i_o will_v commend_v these_o two_o place_n of_o scripture_n to_o you_o to_o consider_v one_o be_v rom._n 8._o 15._o you_o have_v not_o receive_v the_o spirit_n of_o bondage_n to_o fear_v again_o but_o the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n whereby_o you_o cry_v abba_n father_n the_o same_o spirit_n bear_v witness_v with_o our_o it_o be_v not_o a_o enemy_n and_o that_o which_o be_v not_o a_o enemy_n it_o never_o do_v hurt_n but_o if_o thou_o be_v not_o in_o covenant_n with_o god_n now_o these_o have_v a_o power_n to_o hurt_v thou_o there_o be_v no_o prohibition_n upon_o they_o there_o be_v no_o restraint_n but_o they_o may_v do_v thou_o hurt_v they_o be_v enemy_n to_o thou_o both_o those_o thing_n and_o whatsoever_o else_o be_v in_o heaven_n or_o earth_n satan_n and_o every_o creature_n have_v power_n to_o do_v thou_o hurt_v when_o thou_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n when_o thou_o sit_v in_o thy_o house_n wheresoever_o thou_o be_v thou_o walk_v in_o thou_o midst_n of_o 1000_o danger_n because_o thou_o be_v not_o in_o covenant_n with_o god_n therefore_o thou_o be_v expose_v to_o the_o enmity_n of_o all_o the_o creature_n but_o this_o objection_n will_v be_v make_v object_n yea_o but_o many_o or_o those_o that_o be_v within_o the_o covenant_n receive_v huâ—t_n from_o the_o creature_n &_o many_o of_o those_o that_o be_v out_o of_o the_o covenant_n live_v peaceable_a and_o quiet_a life_n i_o will_v answer_v it_o in_o a_o word_n ans._n it_o be_v very_o true_a they_o may_v be_v exercise_v though_o all_o the_o host_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n be_v at_o peace_n with_o they_o and_o there_o be_v not_o any_o creature_n can_v do_v they_o the_o least_o hurt_n no_o they_o neither_o will_v nor_o can_v go_v about_o it_o to_o lift_v up_o their_o hand_n against_o they_o yet_o they_o may_v be_v exercise_v with_o many_o affliction_n but_o there_o be_v a_o very_a great_a difference_n between_o these_o two_o the_o same_o disease_n the_o same_o grief_n the_o same_o apprehension_n lie_v on_o the_o heart_n and_o wound_v the_o spirit_n of_o the_o one_o man_n but_o to_o the_o other_o that_o be_v in_o covenant_n it_o be_v a_o rod_n in_o the_o hand_n of_o a_o father_n enable_v he_o to_o keep_v his_o covenant_n the_o better_a it_o be_v as_o a_o medicine_n in_o the_o hand_n of_o a_o physician_n to_o heal_v he_o to_o comfort_v he_o to_o do_v he_o good_a that_o very_a disease_n to_o another_o be_v as_o a_o sword_n in_o the_o hand_n of_o a_o enemy_n as_o poison_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o destroyer_n to_o hurt_v he_o as_o for_o example_n the_o devil_n have_v power_n to_o vex_v saul_n and_o to_o vex_v job_n here_o be_v the_o same_o instrument_n the_o devil_n have_v power_n over_o both_o but_o there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o difference_n you_o know_v he_o have_v power_n over_o saul_n as_o a_o enemy_n he_o have_v power_n over_o job_n as_o a_o friend_n and_o so_o likewise_o judas_n have_v a_o messenger_n of_o satan_n to_o fill_v his_o heart_n and_o paul_n have_v a_o messenger_n of_o satan_n too_o to_o solicit_v he_o and_o to_o trouble_v he_o and_o to_o join_v with_o his_o lust_n to_o make_v they_o as_o prick_v in_o his_o side_n but_o there_o be_v much_o difference_n to_o the_o one_o he_o have_v a_o restraint_n the_o lord_n say_v to_o the_o deâ—ill_n what_o have_v thou_o to_o do_v with_o job_n thou_o shall_v â—oe_v thus_o far_o and_o no_o further_o thou_o shall_v not_o hurt_v â—ob_v to_o paul_n there_o be_v a_o restraint_n too_o thou_o shall_v go_v thâ—s_o far_o for_o what_o purpose_n as_o there_o be_v a_o restraint_n so_o there_o be_v another_o end_n likewise_o so_o far_o it_o shall_v go_v as_o till_o it_o have_v humble_v he_o job_n and_o paul_n be_v humble_v by_o it_o a_o jot_n further_o it_o can_v go_v for_o the_o devil_n in_o truth_n though_o he_o be_v hostile_a to_o they_o in_o affection_n yet_o can_v hurt_v they_o in_o action_n because_o god_n only_o use_v he_o to_o do_v they_o good_a and_o to_o humble_v they_o job_n be_v the_o better_a and_o paul_n be_v a_o exceed_a gainer_n by_o it_o but_o saul_n and_o judas_n be_v great_a joset_n so_o there_o be_v a_o great_a difference_n between_o these_o two_o the_o shepherd_n set_v his_o dog_n upon_o the_o sheep_n to_o bring_v they_o in_o another_o man_n set_v his_o mastiff_n on_o another_o creature_n to_o worry_v it_o and_o to_o destroy_v it_o the_o lord_n set_v the_o creature_n upon_o his_o own_o servant_n but_o as_o the_o shepherd_n send_v out_o his_o dog_n to_o bring_v they_o in_o as_o soon_o as_o they_o be_v bring_v in_o he_o rate_v the_o dog_n and_o will_v not_o suffer_v he_o to_o do_v they_o the_o least_o hurt_n a_o man_n will_v not_o have_v his_o servant_n nor_o child_n nor_o his_o friend_n hurt_v but_o he_o will_v rate_v the_o dog_n when_o he_o fall_v upon_o they_o so_o the_o lord_n do_v with_o every_o creature_n whatsoever_o when_o it_o come_v to_o hurt_v they_o he_o rebuker_v it_o as_o he_o do_v the_o storm_n and_o wind_n on_o the_o other_o side_n when_o a_o man_n be_v out_o of_o coâ—enant_n with_o god_n than_o god_n unloose_v the_o collar_n of_o the_o creature_n as_o it_o be_v and_o set_v he_o upon_o such_o a_o man_n and_o say_v unto_o he_o go_v &_o worry_v such_o a_o man_n wound_v he_o be_v a_o enemy_n to_o he_o hurt_v he_o this_o objection_n be_v so_o to_o be_v answer_v that_o those_o that_o be_v within_o the_o covenant_n they_o be_v often_o molest_v and_o trouble_v the_o creature_n seem_v to_o hurt_v they_o though_o they_o be_v in_o league_n and_o at_o peace_n with_o they_o and_o can_v do_v they_o no_o hurt_n second_o it_o be_v object_v object_n that_o other_o that_o be_v out_o of_o the_o covenant_n they_o live_v in_o peace_n belove_a ans._n i_o beseech_v you_o consider_v this_o and_o it_o be_v profitable_a to_o consider_v that_o he_o that_o belong_v not_o to_o the_o covenant_n he_o may_v live_v in_o his_o father_n house_n he_o may_v sit_v at_o table_n with_o the_o child_n he_o may_v have_v the_o same_o maintenance_n the_o same_o clothing_n the_o same_o usage_n the_o same_o liberty_n the_o same_o privilege_n of_o the_o family_n as_o the_o child_n have_v and_o yet_o for_o all_o this_o this_o be_v one_o that_o belong_v not_o to_o the_o covenant_n but_o one_o who_o god_n intend_v to_o cast_v out_o ishmael_n you_o know_v live_v in_o the_o family_n as_o well_o as_o isaac_n and_o be_v as_o well_o use_v as_o isaac_n till_o the_o time_n come_v that_o god_n will_v cast_v he_o out_o and_o therefore_o deceive_v not_o thyself_o with_o out_o ward_v peace_n to_o say_v god_n and_o the_o creature_n be_v at_o peace_n with_o i_o for_o i_o have_v prosperity_n in_o all_o that_o i_o do_v no_o it_o may_v be_v the_o time_n of_o cast_v out_o be_v not_o yet_o come_v but_o in_o due_a time_n when_o the_o right_a season_n shall_v come_v than_o ishmael_n shall_v be_v cast_v out_o and_o every_o one_o with_o who_o the_o covenant_n indeed_o be_v not_o establish_v cain_n remain_v for_o a_o time_n but_o he_o be_v cast_v out_o and_o make_v a_o vagabond_n upon_o the_o earth_n saul_n remain_v for_o a_o time_n in_o the_o covenant_n a_o great_a part_n of_o they_o and_o yet_o see_v how_o he_o use_v those_o very_a man_n 32._o deut._n 32._o it_o be_v say_v he_o carry_v they_o on_o eagle's_n wing_n that_o be_v the_o expression_n that_o be_v the_o lord_n carry_v they_o so_o safe_o as_o the_o eagle_n carry_v her_o young_a on_o the_o top_n of_o her_o wing_n that_o no_o fowl_n can_v reach_v they_o but_o she_o be_v above_o all_o fowl_n and_o strong_a than_o all_o fowl_n and_o fly_v high_a and_o so_o they_o be_v safe_a as_o on_o eagle's_n wing_n nothing_o can_v reach_v they_o after_o that_o manner_n i_o carry_v you_o out_o of_o egypt_n i_o keep_v you_o so_o safe_a beside_o i_o do_v not_o only_o defend_v you_o but_o feed_v you_o with_o the_o fine_a wheat_n with_o the_o pure_a oil_n with_o the_o liquor_n of_o the_o grape_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o all_o this_o these_o man_n be_v such_o as_o god_n hate_v such_o as_o be_v not_o in_o league_n as_o belong_v not_o to_o the_o covenant_n deceive_v not_o thyself_o god_n may_v do_v all_o this_o and_o yet_o cast_v thou_o out_o he_o may_v feed_v the_o with_o riches_n in_o abundance_n and_o yet_o if_o thou_o be_v not_o a_o son_n if_o the_o covenant_n be_v not_o establish_v with_o thou_o thou_o shall_v be_v cast_v out_o the_o son_n abide_v for_o ever_o but_o he_o with_o who_o the_o covenant_n be_v not_o make_v though_o he_o may_v continue_v in_o the_o family_n for_o a_o while_n he_o shall_v not_o abide_v
they_o shall_v the_o apostle_n in_o their_o time_n be_v able_a to_o persuade_v they_o no_o say_v he_o they_o shall_v all_o be_v teach_v of_o god_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v without_o his_o teach_n to_o persuade_v you_o know_v simile_n if_o a_o man_n make_v a_o key_n to_o undo_v such_o a_o lock_n he_o must_v know_v all_o the_o ward_n of_o it_o or_o else_o he_o may_v make_v a_o key_n that_o wind_n and_o turn_n of_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n he_o only_o be_v able_a to_o suit_v it_o and_o to_o â—it_n it_o with_o such_o argument_n as_o shall_v be_v effectual_a to_o persuade_v you_o see_v when_o he_o will_v persuade_v moses_n to_o go_v down_o into_o egypt_n there_o be_v a_o secret_a objection_n that_o moses_n have_v in_o his_o heart_n if_o he_o go_v thither_o that_o he_o shall_v loose_v his_o life_n god_n that_o know_v moses_n heart_n know_v where_o that_o objection_n lie_v where_o it_o stick_v with_o he_o he_o be_v able_a to_o bring_v argument_n to_o persuade_v he_o go_v may_v propound_v argument_n but_o to_o make_v the_o heart_n capable_a of_o those_o argument_n he_o may_v propound_v reason_n and_o persuasion_n but_o to_o make_v the_o heart_n apprehensive_a of_o they_o it_o be_v above_o the_o power_n of_o the_o creature_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v god_n only_o that_o reâ—â—â—â—_n we_o in_o the_o spirit_n of_o our_o mind_n he_o that_o have_v make_v the_o eye_n and_o so_o he_o that_o make_v the_o will_n and_o the_o understanding_n he_o only_o can_v heal_v the_o breach_n of_o they_o he_o only_o can_v elevate_v they_o and_o put_v a_o supernatural_a light_n into_o they_o and_o make_v they_o fit_a to_o apprehend_v those_o spiritual_a reason_n of_o any_o kind_n that_o he_o object_n and_o propound_v to_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n so_o that_o god_n only_o be_v able_a to_o persuade_v as_o of_o all_o other_o truth_n so_o of_o this_o that_o all_o thing_n be_v in_o his_o hand_n that_o he_o be_v all-sufficient_a we_o may_v make_v this_o use_n of_o it_o use_v we_o see_v the_o reason_n why_o one_o man_n be_v able_a to_o see_v and_o to_o trust_v to_o this_o all-sufficiency_n of_o god_n another_o and_o another_o be_v not_o the_o reason_n be_v because_o christ_n have_v reveal_v it_o to_o one_o man_n and_o not_o to_o another_o god_n have_v teach_v it_o to_o one_o man_n and_o not_o to_o another_o we_o see_v it_o in_o common_a experience_n a_o wise_a learned_a witty_a and_o able_a man_n that_o can_v discern_v more_o than_o many_o other_o of_o the_o vanity_n of_o outward_a thing_n of_o the_o all-sufficiency_n and_o fullness_n that_o be_v in_o god_n yet_o when_o he_o come_v to_o the_o practice_n of_o it_o he_o be_v able_a to_o do_v nothing_o on_o the_o other_o side_n we_o shall_v find_v in_o experience_n that_o many_o poor_a christian_n that_o be_v able_a to_o say_v little_a yet_o when_o they_o come_v to_o practice_n they_o be_v able_a to_o part_v with_o their_o liberty_n with_o their_o credit_n with_o their_o good_n and_o with_o their_o life_n that_o they_o may_v cleauâ—â—o_o god_n and_o keep_v a_o clear_a conscience_n what_o be_v the_o reason_n of_o it_o because_o they_o be_v teach_v of_o god_n they_o be_v persuade_v by_o he_o &_o therefore_o they_o be_v able_a to_o practise_v it_o as_o for_o the_o other_o they_o be_v teach_v by_o man_n they_o be_v teach_v by_o themselves_o and_o therefore_o they_o be_v not_o teach_v it_o indeed_o they_o be_v not_o full_o convince_v of_o it_o and_o therefore_o though_o they_o know_v such_o thing_n though_o they_o be_v float_v in_o their_o mind_n yet_o they_o have_v not_o the_o use_n &_o the_o practice_n of_o they_o wherein_o you_o shall_v observe_v this_o difference_n that_o a_o man_n may_v know_v a_o truth_n and_o yet_o not_o be_v lead_v into_o that_o truth_n shall_v lead_v you_o into_o those_o truth_n he_o shall_v lead_v you_o into_o the_o practice_n of_o they_o many_o man_n they_o know_v what_o temperance_n what_o sobriety_n and_o patience_n be_v who_o be_v not_o able_a to_o practise_v they_o that_o
rebellion_n against_o it_o i_o say_v this_o keep_v man_n off_o from_o the_o life_n of_o god_n but_o on_o the_o other_o side_n when_o a_o man_n look_v upon_o the_o promise_n he_o begin_v to_o see_v
