sufferer_n and_o act_n not_o but_o be_v act_v upon_o for_o the_o heart_n and_o will_n of_o a_o sinner_n be_v possess_v and_o overpower_v with_o corruption_n that_o which_o be_v the_o subject_n of_o his_o corrupt_a quality_n and_o act_v by_o it_o have_v no_o power_n to_o expel_v it_o that_o which_o be_v whole_o carry_v by_o resistance_n can_v will_v to_o remove_v that_o resistance_n out_o of_o it_o but_o in_o truth_n resist_v all_o that_o resist_v or_o
the_o lust_n of_o man_n and_o the_o will_n of_o the_o gentile_n yea_o fulfil_v the_o desire_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o walk_v after_o the_o prince_n of_o the_o air._n eph._n 2._o 2._o as_o a_o man_n can_v turn_v himself_o so_o this_o first_o aversion_n 2._o from_o sin_n and_o the_o creature_n be_v not_o wrought_v by_o any_o gracious_a habit_n that_o be_v put_v into_o the_o soul_n by_o the_o lord_n i._n e._n that_o be_v not_o the_o way_n and_o mean_n by_o which_o this_o first_o aversion_n and_o turn_n from_o sin_n be_v wrought_v and_o the_o reason_n be_v first_o all_o gracious_a quality_n and_o habit_n as_o all_o other_o 1_o accident_n and_o attendant_n upon_o thing_n never_o have_v any_o be_v but_o in_o a_o subject_n and_o therefore_o must_v first_o be_v there_o before_o they_o can_v put_v forth_o any_o operation_n wisdom_n must_v first_o be_v in_o the_o mind_n before_o a_o man_n can_v act_v wise_o skill_n must_v be_v in_o the_o head_n and_o understanding_n of_o the_o artificer_n before_o he_o can_v work_v build_v and_o plant_v skilful_o holiness_n righteousness_n patience_n in_o our_o heart_n before_o we_o can_v work_v holy_o patient_o and_o that_o be_v the_o reason_n though_o we_o have_v the_o same_o faculty_n of_o mind_n and_o will_n before_o our_o conversion_n as_o we_o have_v after_o yet_o we_o neither_o do_v nor_o can_v put_v forth_o any_o gracious_a action_n before_o but_o after_o grace_n hence_o it_o follow_v that_o if_o the_o first_o aversion_n from_o sin_n be_v wrought_v by_o a_o habit_n of_o grace_n we_o shall_v first_o have_v this_o i._n e._n the_o habit_n of_o grace_n shall_v be_v in_o the_o soul_n before_o it_o shall_v work_v this_o aversion_n of_o the_o soul_n from_o sin_n but_o that_o imply_v a_o contradiction_n that_o a_o man_n shall_v have_v grace_n and_o yet_o be_v whole_o avert_v from_o god_n for_o the_o least_o moment_n second_o if_o the_o soul_n be_v uncapable_a in_o that_o condition_n 2._o and_o under_o that_o consideration_n to_o receive_v the_o habit_n of_o grace_n than_o there_o can_v be_v a_o gracious_a habit_n in_o the_o soul_n to_o work_v any_o thing_n but_o while_o the_o soul_n be_v whole_o possess_v and_o act_v by_o sin_n it_o be_v not_o capable_a of_o a_o gracious_a habit_n no_o more_o than_o it_o be_v possible_a to_o be_v in_o light_n and_o darkness_n together_o the_o wisdom_n of_o the_o flesh_n be_v enmity_n against_o god_n it_o be_v not_o subject_a nay_o it_o can_v be_v subject_a to_o the_o law_n if_o not_o subject_a than_o it_o can_v receive_v the_o gracious_a impression_n of_o it_o rom._n 8._o 7._o and_o john_n 14._o 17._o it_o be_v say_v of_o the_o comforter_n that_o the_o world_n can_v receive_v he_o the_o issue_n be_v if_o a_o gracious_a habit_n neither_o be_v nor_o can_v be_v there_o turn_v from_o god_n to_o sin_n to_o return_v it_o from_o sin_n to_o god_n for_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o work_n of_o application_n sustain_v a_o double_a office_n and_o so_o a_o double_a respect_n as_o a_o spirit_n assist_v as_o a_o spirit_n inhabit_v and_o yet_o the_o same_o spirit_n of_o regeneration_n in_o such_o as_o shall_v be_v save_v take_v regeneration_n in_o the_o breadth_n thereof_o include_v the_o whole_a work_n though_o the_o operation_n be_v double_a or_o divers_a according_a to_o the_o diversity_n of_o the_o subject_n as_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o sinner_n upon_o which_o the_o impression_n of_o the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n whereby_o the_o exercise_n and_o power_n of_o sin_n may_v be_v stop_v &_o the_o challenge_n of_o any_o right_n of_o rule_n and_o sovereignty_n may_v
