it_o be_v it_o be_v record_v how_o he_o fall_v into_o these_o sin_n and_o i_o believe_v it_o to_o be_v true_a because_o the_o scripture_n tell_v i_o so_o but_o that_o david_n fall_v total_o from_o grace_n in_o commit_v of_o these_o sin_n the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v not_o record_v it_o it_o be_v but_o a_o bare_a collection_n of_o our_o antagonist_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v believe_v doubtless_o if_o david_n have_v fall_v total_o or_o final_o from_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n in_o commit_v these_o his_o sin_n the_o holy_a ghost_n who_o have_v record_v his_o sin_n and_o life_n will_v have_v record_v this_o his_o fall_n unto_o we_o since_o then_o the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v not_o record_v this_o his_o fall_n it_o be_v a_o point_n of_o arrogancy_n and_o strange_a presumption_n for_o our_o antagonist_n so_o confident_o to_o determine_v that_o david_n fall_v away_o from_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n when_o as_o the_o scripture_n do_v not_o warrant_v it_o second_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o david_n fall_v not_o away_o from_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n when_o as_o he_o lie_v in_o these_o his_o sin_n because_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o these_o his_o sin_n which_o he_o fall_v into_o out_o of_o infirmity_n and_o not_o out_o of_o any_o precogitate_a malice_n his_o heart_n be_v upright_o towards_o god_n and_o the_o whole_a bent_n and_o frame_n of_o his_o heart_n be_v turn_v towards_o he_o for_o god_n himself_o testify_v of_o he_o that_o he_o be_v a_o man_n after_o his_o heart_n act_n 13._o 22._o that_o he_o go_v full_o after_o the_o lord_n 1_o king_n 11_o murder_n and_o adultery_n cast_v i_o not_o away_o from_o thy_o presence_n and_o take_v not_o thy_o holy_a spirit_n from_o i_o if_o david_n then_o immediate_o upon_o the_o sight_n of_o these_o his_o then_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v still_o within_o he_o then_o certain_o he_o be_v not_o fall_v total_o from_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n yea_o but_o say_v hunnius_n and_o some_o other_o of_o our_o antagonist_n object_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n which_o he_o lose_v by_o these_o his_o sin_n be_v now_o restore_v to_o he_o and_o therefore_o he_o pray_v to_o god_n not_o to_o take_v it_o away_o from_o he_o not_o because_o he_o lose_v it_o not_o before_o but_o because_o it_o be_v now_o restore_v unto_o he_o again_o i_o answer_v that_o this_o be_v but_o a_o mere_a cavil_n and_o a_o idle_a conceit_n answ._n not_o ground_v on_o the_o scripture_n for_o if_o david_n have_v lose_v the_o spirit_n by_o this_o sin_n or_o if_o god_n have_v restore_v it_o to_o he_o again_o no_o doubt_n but_o the_o scripture_n will_v have_v mention_v it_o and_o david_n himself_o will_v have_v express_v or_o at_o least_o have_v intimate_v it_o in_o this_o psalm_n of_o he_o which_o we_o see_v he_o do_v not_o do_v again_o if_o david_n have_v lose_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n by_o these_o his_o sin_n i_o will_v demand_v of_o our_o antagonist_n when_o this_o holy_a spirit_n of_o god_n return_n unto_o he_o again_o whether_o before_o or_o after_o his_o repentance_n or_o in_o the_o very_a act_n of_o his_o repentance_n if_o before_o his_o repentance_n then_o david_n be_v in_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n and_o not_o in_o the_o state_n of_o damnation_n before_o he_o do_v repent_v which_o you_o yourselves_o deny_v if_o after_o his_o repentance_n that_o can_v be_v for_o repentance_n be_v the_o work_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o unless_o david_n have_v have_v this_o holy_a spirit_n of_o god_n he_o can_v not_o have_v repent_v thus_o yea_o than_o david_n prayer_n have_v be_v in_o vain_a for_o how_o can_v he_o have_v pray_v unto_o god_n not_o to_o take_v away_o his_o holy_a spirit_n from_o he_o if_o he_o have_v it_o not_o as_o yet_o restore_v to_o he_o for_o when_o he_o pen_v this_o psalm_n he_o do_v but_o begin_v he_o have_v not_o full_o finish_v his_o repentance_n for_o these_o sin_n therefore_o the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o god_n be_v not_o restore_v to_o he_o after_o his_o repentance_n if_o it_o be_v restore_v unto_o he_o in_o the_o very_a beginning_n and_o act_n of_o his_o repentance_n from_o whence_o do_v that_o appear_v sure_o i_o be_o there_o be_v no_o ground_n in_o scripture_n for_o to_o warrant_v it_o and_o if_o it_o be_v so_o than_o it_o follow_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n may_v be_v restore_v unto_o man_n before_o their_o actual_a repentance_n which_o you_o deny_v because_o the_o very_a beginning_n of_o repentance_n or_o a_o thought_n to_o repent_v be_v no_o perfect_a actual_a repentance_n no_o such_o repentance_n as_o you_o require_v to_o regain_v the_o spirit_n and_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n and_o therefore_o see_v that_o the_o scripture_n inform_v we_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n abide_v and_o dwell_v in_o man_n heart_n and_o soul_n for_o ever_o john_n 14._o 15._o 16_o and_o 1_o john_n 1._o 20._o 27._o we_o may_v safe_o say_v that_o the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o god_n be_v never_o take_v away_o from_o david_n but_o continue_v in_o he_o still_o again_o to_o what_o end_n shall_v this_o prayer_n of_o david_n serve_v if_o god_n have_v now_o restore_v his_o spirit_n to_o he_o he_o have_v as_o yet_o commit_v no_o such_o sin_n since_o the_o restitution_n of_o the_o spirit_n to_o he_o as_o may_v cause_n god_n to_o deprive_v he_o of_o it_o and_o therefore_o this_o prayer_n of_o his_o be_v not_o so_o fit_v to_o the_o purpose_n in_o this_o sense_n therefore_o we_o must_v take_v it_o in_o the_o apâ—…st_a sense_n and_o as_o david_n do_v intend_v it_o david_n he_o be_v afraid_a leave_v god_n shall_v deprive_v he_o of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n for_o those_o sin_n which_o he_o have_v commit_v against_o he_o before_o and_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n and_o ground_n of_o this_o his_o prayer_n now_o therefore_o this_o his_o prayer_n and_o the_o whole_a psalm_n have_v reference_n only_o to_o his_o former_a and_o not_o to_o his_o future_a sin_n it_o must_v needs_o follow_v that_o this_o prayer_n of_o david_n extend_v mere_o to_o the_o spirit_n which_o he_o have_v before_o his_o sin_n commit_v and_o not_o to_o the_o spirit_n new_o restore_v to_o he_o
