all_o the_o league_n conventicle_n ceremony_n and_o covenant_n but_o the_o apple_n of_o this_o tree_n eat_v which_o counterfeit_v the_o tree_n
of_o life_n seem_v to_o the_o son_n and_o child_n of_o man_n to_o be_v pleasant_a fruit_n which_o indeed_o be_v but_o such_o as_o be_v death_n itself_o for_o i_o do_v believe_v that_o no_o man_n can_v sufficient_o express_v the_o general_a worship_v of_o idol_n where_o withal_o the_o corner_n of_o the_o world_n and_o heart_n of_o man_n be_v stuff_v how_o common_a be_v it_o for_o man_n to_o worship_n idol_n and_o what_o be_v a_o idol_n but_o to_o worship_v the_o true_a god_n in_o a_o false_a way_n and_o who_o be_v it_o that_o say_v not_o to_o his_o own_o reason_n knowledge_n honesty_n art_n and_o wisdom_n thou_o be_v my_o god_n they_o do_v not_o thus_o say_v with_o their_o mouth_n but_o their_o whole_a life_n and_o their_o idolatrize_a mind_n say_v as_o much_o by_o their_o deed_n for_o they_o continual_o sacrifice_v to_o their_o own_o drag_v and_o here_o it_o be_v that_o mortal_a man_n deny_v god_n and_o testify_v it_o by_o their_o work_n which_o be_v without_o faith_n be_v the_o just_a principle_n of_o god_n in_o themselves_o and_o account_v the_o word_n of_o god_n a_o insufficient_a help_n in_o time_n of_o adversity_n therefore_o it_o well_o please_v they_o to_o adore_v themselves_o and_o to_o kiss_v their_o own_o work_n and_o to_o sacrifice_v to_o their_o own_o net_n to_o speak_v big_a word_n and_o to_o admire_v themselves_o for_o who_o else_o be_v our_o god_n say_v the_o whole_a world_n by_o their_o work_n chap._n iu._n concern_v that_o great_a idol_n of_o man_n wisdom_n and_o knowledge_n how_o man_n kiss_v their_o own_o hand_n and_o the_o whole_a other_o thing_n be_v it_o that_o be_v the_o worship_n of_o idol_n superstution_n witch_n caft_n evil_a doctrine_n and_o the_o ordinance_n of_o man_n which_o be_v no_o other_o but_o the_o wisdom_n reason_n invention_n craft_n action_n instinct_n and_o prudence_n of_o man_n therefore_o the_o worship_v of_o idol_n be_v but_o to_o fashion_v such_o or_o such_o a_o form_n like_v unto_o god_n but_o not_o according_a to_o his_o word_n as_o he_o teach_v figure_v and_o form_v himself_o in_o man_n but_o according_a to_o their_o own_o opinion_n and_o judgement_n of_o he_o moreover_o what_o be_v sin_n to_o be_v spiritual_o mind_v be_v life_n and_o peace_n which_o thing_n ought_v by_o all_o man_n to_o be_v due_o consider_v before_o time_n be_v no_o more_o for_o as_o death_n leave_v so_o judgement_n find_v and_o in_o the_o grave_a they_o can_v repent_v but_o these_o thing_n be_v not_o regard_v nor_o mind_v among_o many_o therefore_o be_v it_o write_v the_o fool_n have_v say_v in_o his_o heart_n they_o and_o in_o this_o state_n be_v all_o covetous_a man_n among_o who_o many_o be_v they_o that_o have_v take_v upon_o they_o the_o name_n of_o god_n and_o christ_n who_o word_n they_o have_v steal_v who_o through_o covetousness_n make_v it_o their_o trade_n to_o gain_v money_n by_o this_o be_v also_o contrary_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o not_o at_o all_o according_a to_o the_o example_n of_o his_o holy_a one_o who_o covet_v no_o man_n silver_n nor_o gold_n but_o free_o receive_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o as_o good_a steward_n of_o his_o manifold_a grace_n they_o free_o break_v their_o bread_n from_o house_n to_o house_n with_o singleness_n and_o gladness_n of_o heart_n rejoice_v in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n who_o word_n they_o divide_v to_o every_o one_o his_o portion_n without_o money_n or_o price_n labour_v with_o their_o hand_n for_o their_o maintenance_n that_o they_o may_v not_o make_v the_o gospel_n chargeable_a to_o any_o and_o woe_n be_v to_o be_v rich_a be_v pierce_v through_o with_o many_o sorrow_n for_o it_o be_v write_v they_o that_o will_v be_v rich_a fall_v into_o many_o temptation_n and_o a_o snare_n and_o many_o foolish_a and_o hurtful_a lust_n which_o draw_v man_n into_o perdition_n for_o lust_n to_o covetousness_n be_v such_o a_o subtle_a enemy_n and_o the_o devil_n snare_n be_v so_o cunning_o contrive_v and_o so_o full_a of_o fair_a pretence_n that_o let_v a_o man_n be_v once_o in_o love_n with_o money_n he_o know_v not_o which_o way_n to_o wind_v himself_o out_o for_o it_o do_v so_o bewild_a fetter_v and_o entangle_v his_o mind_n even_o to_o the_o destruction_n of_o his_o soul_n and_o loss_n of_o body_n also_o yet_o how_o vehement_o with_o care_n and_o diligence_n will_v man_n vindicate_v covetousness_n because_o that_o care_n and_o diligence_n there_o may_v be_v and_o aught_o to_o be_v but_o the_o truth_n be_v every_o covetous_a man_n make_v care_n and_o diligence_n a_o cloak_n for_o covetousness_n whereby_o he_o be_v shelter_v against_o all_o reproof_n in_o which_o state_n man_n life_n among_o his_o neighbour_n be_v not_o much_o desirable_a neither_o by_o the_o poor_a lament_v at_o his_o death_n but_o rather_o rejoice_v at_o the_o divide_n of_o his_o idol_n to_o who_o god_n have_v not_o give_v the_o privilege_n of_o a_o beggar_n who_o have_v a_o child_n to_o inherit_v his_o old_a apparel_n and_o
