satan_n instrument_n to_o delude_v and_o terrify_v he_o and_o because_o they_o speak_v otherwise_o then_o god_n voice_n which_o say_v believe_v lay_v hold_v of_o eternal_a life_n cast_v not_o away_o thy_o confidence_n 10.27_o who_o also_o say_v the_o plant_n of_o the_o lord_n shall_v flourish_v and_o grow_v up_o as_o the_o grain_n of_o mustard_n seed_n till_o it_o have_v branch_n and_o bow_n it_o be_v a_o dangerous_a thing_n to_o set_v so_o light_a by_o the_o word_n which_o god_n speak_v that_o we_o dare_v so_o much_o as_o hearken_v to_o any_o voice_n which_o speak_v the_o contrary_a for_o she_o by_o give_v ear_n to_o the_o serpent_n go_v further_o and_o give_v he_o speech_n also_o and_o yet_o neither_o such_o speech_n as_o whereby_o she_o cut_v he_o off_o by_o hold_v herself_o to_o god_n word_n neither_o if_o she_o will_v needs_o answer_v refer_v he_o to_o her_o husband_n as_o she_o shall_v have_v do_v who_o hear_v god_n speak_v and_o receive_v the_o charge_n of_o not_o eat_v of_o every_o tree_n from_o himself_o we_o must_v learn_v some_o wisdom_n of_o the_o adder_n 58.5_o who_o stop_v both_o her_o ear_n that_o she_o may_v not_o hear_v the_o voice_n of_o the_o charmer_n charm_v he_o never_o so_o wise_o and_o if_o any_o doubt_n do_v so_o trouble_v he_o who_o have_v attain_v through_o god_n grace_n to_o this_o weak_a faith_n let_v he_o ask_v of_o they_o who_o have_v instruct_v he_o 2.38_o the_o man_n and_o brethren_n who_o if_o they_o have_v kind_o prick_v can_v as_o well_o skill_n to_o heal_v and_o therefore_o also_o remove_v such_o doubt_n as_o for_o want_v of_o sure_a lay_v hold_n on_o the_o promise_n have_v trouble_v any_o and_o further_o if_o he_o which_o be_v weak_a in_o faith_n after_o lay_v sure_a hold_n continuance_n shall_v yet_o be_v dismay_v thus_o that_o he_o can_v keep_v for_o any_o continuance_n his_o faith_n strong_a and_o steadfast_a but_o feel_v it_o flit_a he_o be_v to_o be_v answer_v that_o a_o child_n which_o begin_v to_o go_v by_o a_o stool_n or_o form_n be_v not_o strengthen_v as_o he_o which_o be_v by_o long_a use_n and_o custom_n settle_v in_o his_o joint_n in_o like_a manner_n it_o fare_v with_o weak_a believer_n and_o yet_o after_o that_o such_o shall_v have_v experience_n of_o their_o own_o sincerity_n and_o care_n 11.29_o to_o keep_v a_o good_a conscience_n in_o long_a continuance_n of_o time_n they_o shall_v be_v well_o and_o full_o settle_v in_o their_o faith_n to_o their_o great_a contentment_n and_o comfort_n and_o thus_o i_o conclude_v that_o what_o let_v soever_o there_o be_v former_a which_o hinder_v man_n from_o believe_v as_o that_o they_o be_v unworthy_a they_o shall_v fall_v again_o to_o their_o old_a course_n they_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o attain_v to_o it_o or_o if_o they_o have_v not_o like_a certainty_n of_o it_o always_o therefore_o they_o conclude_v that_o they_o never_o have_v any_o at_o all_o or_o any_o such_o like_a yet_o he_o who_o earnest_o desire_v it_o will_v not_o utter_o faint_a except_o in_o temptation_n when_o he_o must_v be_v well_o ply_v and_o help_v and_o when_o he_o be_v not_o his_o own_o to_o guide_v himself_o aright_o nor_o cease_v or_o give_v over_o till_o he_o be_v persuade_v that_o all_o tear_n be_v wipe_v away_o and_o therefore_o will_v refuse_v no_o mean_n to_o attain_v to_o it_o by_o attend_v on_o god_n and_o wait_v his_o leisure_n &_o reverent_o consider_v the_o encouragement_n and_o persuasion_n which_o have_v be_v set_v down_o 17._o that_o so_o he_o may_v lay_v sure_a and_o strong_a hold_n of_o god_n promise_n and_o christ_n prayer_n for_o he_o i_o have_v pray_v that_o thy_o faith_n fail_v not_o as_o one_o in_o his_o case_n may_v do_v and_o so_o by_o little_a and_o little_o shall_v see_v himself_o to_o be_v in_o the_o number_n of_o true_a believer_n no_o more_o to_o be_v cast_v out_o from_o they_o chap._n 8._o how_o the_o weak_a in_o faith_n shall_v be_v establish_v and_o thus_o to_o pass_v to_o the_o second_o head_n of_o this_o first_o treatise_n head_n understand_v that_o these_o two_o thing_n be_v here_o to_o be_v handle_v first_o how_o the_o weak_a believer_n may_v and_o shall_v be_v stay_v in_o their_o vehement_a temptation_n second_o how_o they_o may_v further_o prove_v that_o they_o differ_v from_o such_o as_o be_v not_o believer_n although_o they_o seem_v so_o of_o these_o weak_a one_o there_o be_v two_o sort_n some_o less_o some_o more_o both_o shall_v be_v better_o understand_v by_o that_o which_o shall_v several_o be_v say_v of_o both_o and_o herein_o i_o desire_v my_o brethren_n who_o be_v better_a settle_v not_o to_o think_v this_o labour_n superfluous_a but_o to_o measure_v the_o weak_a by_o their_o own_o weakness_n at_o their_o first_o beginning_n

thereon_o in_o such_o wise_a that_o he_o dare_v jeopard_v his_o soul_n upon_o the_o truth_n and_o doctrine_n of_o they_o even_o as_o he_o be_v to_o look_v for_o salvation_n only_o by_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n ever_o count_v that_o for_o sin_n which_o shall_v be_v find_v to_o jar_n or_o jangle_n with_o the_o same_o either_o in_o his_o heart_n or_o life_n but_o though_o all_o who_o have_v hope_v to_o be_v save_v shall_v do_v this_o 3.1_o yet_o it_o be_v manifest_a they_o do_v not_o they_o make_v not_o conscience_n of_o many_o sin_n they_o look_v not_o to_o many_o promise_n they_o fear_v not_o many_o threat_n all_o which_o do_v much_o testify_v against_o they_o that_o they_o be_v not_o so_o well_o fence_v as_o they_o may_v be_v and_o by_o mean_n hereof_o they_o hold_v even_o the_o promise_n of_o salvation_n itself_o more_o weak_o and_o this_o come_v to_o pass_v the_o more_o common_o why_o that_o they_o be_v no_o better_o establish_v and_o root_v in_o the_o truth_n to_o believe_v it_o because_o these_o thing_n as_o they_o be_v worthy_a and_o most_o excellent_a so_o they_o be_v not_o plain_o sound_o and_o thorough_o beat_v into_o the_o people_n and_o that_o again_o and_o again_o till_o they_o that_o be_v willing_a second_o have_v they_o for_o their_o own_o and_o another_o cause_n be_v for_o that_o the_o people_n who_o have_v some_o taste_n of_o this_o doctrine_n namely_o how_o they_o shall_v join_v good_a life_n with_o their_o faith_n take_v not_o pain_n when_o they_o have_v be_v well_o teach_v they_o to_o call_v they_o to_o mind_n and_o digest_v they_o only_o they_o have_v piece_n and_o fragment_n of_o many_o good_a point_n but_o rare_o it_o shall_v be_v find_v that_o one_o christian_a among_o many_o grow_v to_o see_v this_o which_o i_o now_o speak_v of_o by_o teach_v much_o less_o have_v it_o in_o use_n and_o practice_v for_o his_o own_o that_o be_v to_o give_v credit_n to_o one_o part_n of_o the_o word_n as_o well_o as_o to_o another_o and_o not_o every_o one_o to_o take_v that_o which_o like_v he_o inconvenience_n and_o therefore_o when_o they_o have_v some_o work_n of_o true_a faith_n in_o they_o yet_o they_o see_v not_o how_o to_o set_v upon_o repentance_n and_o a_o godly_a life_n how_o to_o begin_v and_o how_o to_o proceed_v therein_o but_o be_v off_o and_o on_o now_o forward_o then_o backward_o and_o scarce_o at_o any_o time_n settle_v and_o stay_v the_o which_o although_o it_o be_v so_o in_o great_a part_n through_o their_o own_o weakness_n yet_o be_v it_o also_o in_o respect_n of_o their_o ignorance_n i_o speak_v of_o the_o better_a sort_n of_o people_n and_o such_o as_o have_v receive_v the_o first_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n whereas_o if_o they_o be_v persuade_v that_o they_o ought_v to_o make_v conscience_n of_o all_o sound_a doctrine_n that_o they_o hear_v and_o to_o give_v assent_n to_o every_o part_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o submit_v themselves_o thereto_o promise_n threat_n and_o commandment_n they_o shall_v hold_v more_o firm_o the_o persuasion_n of_o their_o salvation_n and_o also_o be_v better_o prepare_v how_o to_o fly_v evil_a and_o how_o to_o do_v duty_n and_o how_o to_o trust_v god_n in_o all_o kind_n of_o his_o promise_n therefore_o it_o be_v say_v to_o the_o hebrews_n 4.2_o to_o we_o be_v the_o gospel_n preach_v as_o also_o unto_o they_o but_o the_o word_n that_o they_o hear_v profit_v not_o they_o because_o it_o be_v not_o mix_v with_o faith_n in_o those_o that_o hear_v it_o again_o 14.23_o without_o faith_n it_o be_v impossible_a to_o please_v god_n with_o the_o which_o agree_v that_o which_o be_v write_v by_o s._n paul_n to_o the_o roman_n whatsoever_o be_v not_o of_o faith_n be_v sin_n that_o be_v whatsoever_o we_o do_v not_o be_v persuade_v in_o our_o conscience_n that_o we_o please_v god_n in_o do_v of_o it_o we_o sin_n against_o he_o now_o then_o when_o our_o judgement_n be_v not_o settle_v in_o this_o doctrine_n and_o truth_n and_o consequent_o we_o follow_v no_o such_o rule_n in_o our_o action_n must_v we_o not_o needs_o wander_v up_o and_o down_o the_o more_o unprofitable_o and_o heavy_o or_o when_o we_o be_v at_o the_o best_a must_v we_o not_o needs_o be_v doubtful_a and_o uncertain_a whether_o we_o please_v god_n or_o no_o whereas_o our_o chief_a care_n shall_v be_v lest_o we_o do_v any_o thing_n which_o may_v crase_n or_o crack_v our_o faith_n especial_o when_o it_o be_v tender_a and_o weak_a and_o like_o the_o bruise_a reed_n which_o be_v easy_o break_v sanctify_v therefore_o if_o any_o believe_v to_o be_v save_v let_v they_o believe_v also_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v sanctify_v for_o with_o one_o and_o the_o same_o faith_n we_o believe_v both_o and_o that_o they_o shall_v receive_v grace_n from_o god_n to_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n of_o amendment_n of_o life_n and_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v make_v able_a by_o he_o through_o the_o hear_n of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n to_o cast_v off_o their_o old_a conversation_n this_o faith_n much_o avail_v to_o the_o further_a of_o the_o dear_a child_n of_o god_n in_o a_o godly_a course_n even_o at_o their_o first_o come_v unto_o god_n as_o it_o do_v always_o after_o to_o live_v by_o it_o and_o although_o god_n by_o the_o same_o spirit_n regenerate_v they_o by_o the_o which_o he_o assure_v they_o of_o their_o adoption_n yet_o be_v it_o wrought_v in_o they_o much_o more_o hardly_o and_o in_o great_a fear_n when_o they_o do_v not_o first_o know_v and_o be_v persuade_v in_o their_o judgement_n that_o it_o shall_v be_v so_o and_o though_o it_o can_v be_v but_o weak_a in_o any_o at_o their_o first_o conversion_n to_o god_n deliverance_n yet_o shall_v they_o soon_o wade_v through_o their_o doubt_n and_o grow_v out_o of_o their_o fear_n if_o they_o have_v this_o faith_n as_o a_o foundation_n to_o uphold_v they_o and_o encourage_v they_o to_o go_v about_o it_o but_o otherwise_o they_o shall_v faint_v and_o fear_v oft_o time_n and_o be_v without_o hope_n nothing_o be_v more_o clear_a than_o this_o if_o we_o observe_v it_o in_o weak_a christian_n and_o thus_o must_v they_o be_v persuade_v also_o concern_v all_o blessing_n good_a success_n deliverance_n out_o of_o trouble_n or_o patience_n and_o meekness_n to_o bear_v they_o as_o well_o as_o to_o believe_v the_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n and_o final_o whatsoever_o god_n say_v in_o his_o word_n either_o the_o forbid_v of_o any_o sin_n or_o the_o require_v of_o any_o duty_n they_o be_v bind_v to_o believe_v it_o as_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n to_o depend_v upon_o it_o and_o to_o be_v build_v upon_o it_o and_o to_o trust_v he_o upon_o his_o bare_a word_n 1.5_o and_o to_o suffer_v themselves_o to_o be_v lead_v by_o it_o and_o that_o because_o it_o be_v his_o word_n have_v in_o they_o always_o a_o settle_a purpose_n to_o do_v so_o and_o this_o be_v call_v by_o the_o apostle_n the_o obedience_n of_o faith_n for_o they_o must_v be_v resolve_v of_o this_o that_o to_o who_o god_n give_v christ_n to_o they_o also_o he_o give_v all_o thing_n needful_a for_o this_o life_n and_o the_o life_n to_o come_v in_o and_o by_o christ_n and_o thus_o noah_n do_v not_o only_o believe_v that_o he_o be_v make_v heir_n of_o righteousness_n 11.8_o but_o also_o that_o he_o and_o certain_a of_o his_o household_n shall_v be_v save_v in_o the_o flood_n and_o abraham_n likewise_o believe_v not_o only_o that_o he_o be_v justify_v but_o also_o go_v to_o a_o place_n which_o he_o know_v not_o only_o see_v god_n command_v and_o abode_n in_o the_o land_n of_o promise_n as_o in_o a_o strange_a country_n and_o believe_v that_o he_o shall_v have_v a_o son_n in_o his_o old_a age_n and_o they_o who_o believe_v among_o the_o israelite_n in_o the_o saviour_n which_o be_v to_o come_v of_o who_o moses_n though_o dark_o have_v teach_v before_o 5.46_o the_o same_o believe_v other_o promise_n as_o that_o the_o wall_n of_o jericho_n shall_v fall_v down_o 6.10_o after_o they_o have_v be_v compass_v about_o seven_o day_n many_o other_o such_o example_n who_o show_v themselves_o not_o only_o to_o believe_v the_o promise_n of_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n and_o of_o eternal_a life_n but_o also_o other_o temporal_a promise_n yea_o and_o precept_n also_o and_o threat_n which_o god_n have_v set_v down_o in_o his_o word_n very_o profitable_a for_o we_o to_o this_o purpose_n many_o such_o i_o say_v both_o throughout_o the_o scripture_n and_o namely_o in_o that_o eleven_o chapter_n to_o the_o hebrews_n be_v set_v down_o unto_o us._n and_o this_o general_a faith_n so_o call_v for_o that_o it_o give_v assent_v and_o credit_n to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n in_o the_o elect_a as_o well_o to_o one_o part_n as_o to_o another_o with_o a_o honest_a heart_n ready_a to_o

obey_v it_o even_o this_o faith_n i_o say_v must_v be_v plant_v in_o they_o as_o well_o as_o faith_n to_o be_v save_v because_o by_o it_o as_o well_o as_o by_o this_o god_n people_n must_v live_v afterward_o and_o be_v uphold_v and_o this_o doctrine_n because_o it_o be_v occupy_v about_o the_o promise_n of_o this_o life_n and_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n which_o be_v to_o guide_v we_o to_o full_a sanctification_n here_o i_o do_v not_o therefore_o join_v it_o with_o my_o discourse_n of_o faith_n in_o the_o former_a treatise_n but_o refer_v it_o to_o this_o place_n as_o the_o fit_a where_o i_o teach_v how_o to_o live_v godly_a to_o the_o attain_n whereof_o the_o believe_v that_o i_o have_v speak_v of_o be_v a_o special_a help_n and_o furtherance_n and_o so_o i_o wish_v the_o christian_n reader_n to_o mark_v well_o that_o which_o i_o say_v about_o this_o matter_n for_o it_o be_v one_o of_o the_o hard_a point_n in_o all_o christianity_n to_o practice_v and_o one_o of_o the_o dark_a to_o conceive_v and_o see_v into_o and_o to_o be_v right_o persuade_v of_o and_o settle_v in_o and_o a_o point_n in_o deed_n less_o stand_v upon_o and_o teach_v and_o make_v clear_a by_o preacher_n themselves_o in_o their_o sermon_n and_o catechizing_n and_o yet_o our_o live_n by_o faith_n throughout_o our_o whole_a life_n which_o be_v the_o fruit_n of_o it_o be_v as_o plain_o teach_v and_o bring_v to_o light_v in_o the_o scripture_n as_o any_o need_n to_o desire_v it_o and_o namely_o in_o those_o place_n to_o the_o hebrews_n and_o the_o galatian_n one_o the_o just_a shall_v live_v by_o faith_n the_o other_o i_o live_v no_o long_o 2.19_o but_o christ_n in_o i_o and_o the_o life_n that_o i_o lead_v be_v by_o faith_n in_o the_o son_n of_o god_n as_o if_o they_o both_o shall_v say_v christ_n by_o his_o spirit_n do_v draw_v his_o faithful_a one_o to_o be_v lead_v and_o guide_v by_o the_o word_n of_o truth_n which_o he_o have_v set_v down_o to_o they_o and_o they_o desire_v no_o other_o life_n then_o that_o which_o there_o they_o be_v move_v and_o persuade_v unto_o whether_o we_o mean_v the_o commandment_n or_o promise_n teacher_n i_o say_v that_o this_o believe_v which_o i_o speak_v of_o be_v not_o much_o lay_v open_a in_o public_a teach_n but_o only_o this_o which_o be_v the_o effect_n of_o it_o that_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v obedient_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v that_o the_o forward_a sort_n of_o good_a hearer_n except_o some_o few_o hearer_n who_o have_v be_v thorough_o make_v acquaint_v with_o it_o and_o exercise_v in_o it_o by_o long_a experience_n do_v little_o see_v into_o it_o namely_o that_o they_o may_v undoubted_o be_v persuade_v that_o god_n will_v make_v they_o able_a to_o obey_v his_o will_n as_o they_o be_v fit_a to_o reach_v unto_o it_o and_o that_o he_o have_v promise_v if_o they_o once_o come_v to_o know_v that_o they_o be_v belove_v of_o he_o that_o he_o will_v afterward_o be_v with_o they_o to_o quicken_v their_o will_n and_o draw_v their_o affection_n and_o strengthen_v they_o to_o do_v their_o duty_n 1.28_o as_o it_o be_v say_v by_o the_o angel_n to_o mary_n haile_o thou_o that_o be_v free_o belove_v the_o lord_n be_v with_o thou_o many_o of_o god_n dear_a child_n when_o they_o be_v somewhat_o stay_v about_o the_o assurance_n of_o their_o salvation_n after_o that_o they_o have_v be_v long_o labour_v about_o it_o and_o then_o come_v to_o hear_v that_o they_o must_v lead_v new_a life_n many_o of_o they_o i_o say_v be_v willing_a to_o go_v about_o it_o but_o they_o be_v much_o discourage_v because_o they_o see_v not_o how_o they_o shall_v be_v able_a and_o lest_o any_o shall_v object_v objection_n that_o paul_n himself_o be_v so_o trouble_v who_o say_v to_o will_v be_v present_a with_o i_o 7.18_o but_o i_o find_v no_o mean_n to_o perform_v that_o which_o be_v good_a i_o answer_v he_o complain_v not_o of_o that_o which_o i_o do_v answer_n that_o be_v that_o he_o have_v no_o hope_n in_o god_n nor_o no_o promise_n of_o strength_n from_o he_o to_o perform_v for_o he_o say_v the_o contrary_a in_o sundry_a place_n 4.13_o i_o be_o able_a to_o do_v all_o thing_n through_o the_o help_n of_o christ_n which_o strengthen_v i_o and_o again_o i_o live_v no_o long_o but_o christ_n in_o i_o but_o he_o complain_v that_o for_o all_o the_o hope_n of_o help_n that_o he_o have_v yet_o the_o rebellion_n of_o his_o flesh_n and_o nature_n that_o be_v unreform_v do_v mighty_o resist_v he_o and_o this_o hindrance_n he_o have_v and_o we_o all_o shall_v have_v while_o we_o live_v but_o what_o be_v that_o to_o this_o that_o beside_o this_o rebellion_n of_o the_o old_a man_n they_o have_v this_o also_o to_o hinder_v they_o that_o they_o can_v tell_v whether_o they_o shall_v have_v strength_n to_o make_v they_o able_a or_o no_o nor_o whether_o god_n have_v give_v they_o any_o promise_n that_o their_o burden_n shall_v be_v make_v light_n and_o that_o christ_n himself_o will_v bear_v the_o great_a part_n of_o it_o for_o they_o that_o so_o it_o may_v be_v make_v easy_a this_o it_o be_v that_o kill_v the_o heart_n of_o right_n good_a christian_n when_o they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o it_o and_o when_o they_o be_v not_o well_o ground_v in_o it_o and_o thorough_o persuade_v of_o it_o that_o god_n will_v make_v they_o able_a and_o fit_a for_o so_o great_a a_o work_n as_o the_o lead_n of_o a_o godly_a life_n be_v even_o like_o the_o burden_n of_o the_o israelite_n who_o be_v enjoin_v their_o task_n of_o brick_n that_o they_o have_v make_v in_o time_n past_a 5.11_o which_o work_n be_v hard_a enough_o and_o yet_o themselves_o to_o seek_v and_o provide_v their_o straw_n this_o i_o be_o sure_a have_v trouble_v many_o christian_n who_o yet_o be_v willing_a and_o ready_a to_o do_v any_o duty_n require_v of_o they_o and_o have_v be_v the_o cause_n why_o they_o have_v go_v about_o the_o several_a action_n of_o their_o life_n the_o bear_n of_o their_o trouble_n and_o the_o offer_v up_o of_o their_o prayer_n the_o more_o deadly_a and_o uncheerefullie_o and_o therefore_o the_o more_o aukely_a and_o wearisome_o christian_n and_o for_o the_o benefit_n of_o many_o good_a soul_n i_o will_v say_v that_o which_o have_v be_v acknowledge_v unto_o i_o by_o sundry_a well_o approve_a christian_n when_o i_o have_v in_o conference_n set_v down_o plain_o to_o with_o heavy_a heart_n how_o to_o wade_v through_o some_o affliction_n and_o how_o to_o be_v content_v with_o some_o accident_n which_o be_v like_a to_o fall_v out_o and_o come_v to_o pass_v and_o this_o we_o do_v because_o we_o miss_v of_o the_o right_a way_n of_o trust_v to_o god_n providence_n that_o he_o will_v turn_v all_o to_o the_o best_a without_o which_o resolution_n who_o can_v quiet_o rest_v in_o any_o uncertainty_n here_o below_o so_o effectual_a and_o good_a a_o mean_v it_o be_v to_o be_v lead_v by_o faith_n and_o to_o have_v it_o as_o a_o daily_a companion_n with_o us._n by_o which_o we_o have_v persuasion_n of_o the_o great_a benefit_n of_o all_o other_o namely_o christ_n we_o may_v the_o more_o easy_o have_v assure_v ourselves_o we_o see_v now_o of_o any_o small_a whether_o any_o trouble_n to_o have_v a_o good_a issue_n out_o of_o it_o or_o any_o good_a thing_n as_o it_o shall_v have_v be_v expedient_a for_o we_o to_o enjoy_v it_o and_o we_o may_v say_v true_o we_o know_v nothing_o to_o have_v be_v the_o cause_n of_o so_o much_o and_o so_o long_a unprofitablenes_n and_o heaviness_n these_o many_o year_n as_o this_o that_o we_o have_v not_o be_v root_v and_o be_v that_o we_o stain_v not_o our_o own_o good_a name_n and_o credit_v any_o way_n but_o maintain_v and_o preserve_v it_o commandment_n the_o last_o part_n of_o duty_n to_o our_o neighbour_n be_v to_o acquaint_v our_o heart_n with_o the_o thought_n and_o desire_n of_o his_o good_a and_o to_o bring_v ourselves_o to_o this_o custom_n and_o practice_n good_a that_o whatsoever_o in_o these_o offer_v we_o and_o also_o because_o we_o have_v consecrate_v our_o heart_n to_o the_o lord_n use_v to_o be_v take_v up_o in_o the_o delight_v in_o those_o thing_n which_o please_v he_o and_o if_o we_o love_v he_o we_o shall_v consider_v that_o love_n think_v none_o evil_a of_o our_o neighbour_n nor_o intend_v any_o hurt_n against_o he_o yet_o when_o his_o profit_n and_o lawful_a liberty_n and_o i_o will_v brief_o conclude_v with_o the_o apostle_n in_o this_o wise_a 7.29_o this_o i_o say_v brethren_n because_o the_o time_n be_v short_a hereafter_o that_o they_o which_o have_v wife_n be_v as_o though_o they_o have_v none_o and_o they_o that_o weep_v as_o though_o they_o weep_v not_o and_o they_o that_o rejoice_v as_o though_o they_o rejoice_v not_o and_o they_o that_o buy_v as_o though_o they_o possess_v not_o and_o they_o that_o use_v the_o world_n as_o not_o abuse_v it_o for_o the_o fashion_n of_o this_o world_n go_v away_o he_o therefore_o that_o look_v to_o these_o thing_n so_o 20.6_o how_o shall_v he_o be_v infect_v with_o hollowness_n and_o hypocrisy_n what_o show_v of_o holiness_n soever_o appear_v in_o he_o hope_n to_o conclude_v what_o can_v there_o be_v in_o his_o one_o day_n as_o another_o and_o yet_o if_o they_o be_v acquaint_v with_o this_o armour_n thorough_o they_o shall_v make_v their_o worst_a and_o most_o uncomfortable_a day_n in_o the_o week_n equal_a he_o break_v into_o frowardness_n one_o neighbour_n contend_v fall_v out_o with_o and_o rail_v at_o another_o for_o a_o matter_n of_o nothing_o and_o one_o be_v unquiet_a with_o servant_n vex_v at_o be_v stuff_v with_o sundry_a corruption_n as_o distrust_n too_o great_a delight-taking_a in_o the_o world_n rashness_n desire_v of_o get_v fear_v of_o lose_v etc._n etc._n that_o therefore_o it_o be_v careful_o keep_v purge_v from_o these_o and_o that_o he_o be_v well_o arm_v as_o i_o have_v counsel_v before_o and_o particular_o with_o that_o part_n of_o the_o armour_n which_o be_v requisite_a be_v better_a for_o they_o then_o thus_o to_o bridle_v the_o unruly_a affection_n into_o which_o be_v every_o while_n ready_a to_o break_v off_o the_o best_a course_n that_o can_v be_v enter_v into_o of_o they_o and_o if_o we_o think_v it_o much_o to_o be_v enjoin_v thus_o to_o curb_v up_o the_o old_a man_n which_o most_o hinder_v from_o go_v forward_o with_o delight_n and_o readiness_n consider_v what_o injury_n we_o offer_v to_o the_o almighty_a god_n that_o whereas_o nothing_o go_v forward_o well_o that_o be_v unwilling_o go_v about_o so_o neither_o shall_v this_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n

condemn_v for_o i_o have_v deny_v the_o god_n above_o therefore_o if_o these_o be_v great_a riches_n liberty_n and_o privilege_n to_o enjoy_v i_o mean_v to_o have_v contentation_n in_o our_o estate_n by_o occasion_n of_o which_o weakness_n the_o devil_n hold_v they_o in_o great_a discomfort_n that_o although_o they_o will_v do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n in_o that_o which_o they_o go_v about_o yet_o they_o stand_v at_o a_o stay_n and_o be_v hold_v under_o many_o heavy_a discouragement_n for_o a_o long_a time_n and_o yet_o be_v these_o far_o more_o faithful_a and_o simple_a heart_a howsoever_o they_o be_v fear_v by_o their_o own_o weakness_n than_o they_o who_o think_v they_o please_v god_n high_o if_o they_o do_v any_o thing_n in_o their_o own_o opinion_n more_o than_o other_o how_o call_v man_n to_o be_v partaker_n of_o so_o excellent_a privilege_n and_o appoint_v for_o they_o such_o variety_n of_o blessing_n whereof_o i_o have_v mention_v but_o some_o part_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v so_o ignorant_a as_o not_o to_o desire_v to_o know_v they_o so_o careless_a as_o to_o reject_v they_o so_o obstinate_a as_o to_o tread_v they_o under_o foot_n and_o so_o to_o lead_v a_o of_o they_o from_o the_o serve_v of_o god_n but_o be_v perform_v also_o and_o that_o with_o cheerfulness_n when_o it_o lie_v upon_o they_o and_o that_o which_o i_o answer_v in_o this_o one_o i_o and_o of_o other_o sin_n they_o be_v so_o grieve_v to_o remember_v their_o long_a continue_a offence_n that_o way_n in_o that_o they_o be_v wont_n to_o fill_v their_o heart_n with_o all_o sensuality_n and_o worldliness_n that_o now_o they_o think_v they_o dispease_v god_n when_o they_o have_v they_o set_v upon_o their_o business_n at_o all_o even_o as_o he_o that_o have_v abuse_v music_n mirth_n or_o meat_n dangerous_o think_v afterward_o that_o he_o may_v not_o use_v they_o in_o any_o sort_n whereas_o they_o may_v understand_v that_o there_o be_v no_o such_o disagreement_n or_o contrariety_n betwixt_o holy_a thing_n and_o lawful_a liberty_n neither_o therefore_o betwixt_o spiritual_a duty_n and_o the_o work_n of_o our_o call_n but_o that_o there_o may_v be_v recourse_n have_v from_o the_o one_o to_o the_o other_o without_o quench_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n spirit_n in_o us._n and_o he_o that_o do_v both_o of_o they_o in_o their_o season_n as_o become_v he_o i_o mean_v with_o a_o
