another_o or_o draw_v consequence_n plain_o from_o the_o word_n we_o must_v have_v a_o warrant_n for_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n one_o will_v have_v think_v that_o these_o priest_n offer_v incense_n to_o the_o true_a god_n what_o hurt_n be_v there_o in_o take_v other_o fire_n but_o there_o be_v no_o command_n for_o it_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o accept_v it_o be_v true_a there_o be_v some_o thing_n in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n that_o be_v natural_a and_o civil_a help_n and_o there_o we_o need_v not_o have_v any_o command_n as_o for_o instance_n when_o we_o come_v to_o worship_n god_n the_o congregation_n meet_v they_o must_v have_v a_o convenient_a place_n to_o keep_v the_o air_n and_o weather_n from_o they_o now_o this_o be_v but_o a_o natural_a help_n and_o so_o far_o as_o i_o use_v the_o place_n of_o worship_n as_o a_o natural_a help_n i_o need_v have_v no_o command_n but_o if_o i_o will_v put_v any_o thing_n in_o a_o place_n beyond_o what_o it_o have_v in_o its_o own_o nature_n there_o i_o must_v look_v for_o a_o command_n for_o if_o i_o account_v one_o place_n more_o holy_a than_o another_o or_o to_o think_v that_o god_n shall_v accept_v of_o worship_n in_o one_o place_n rather_o than_o in_o another_o this_o be_v to_o raise_v it_o above_o what_o it_o be_v in_o its_o own_o nature_n so_o that_o when_o any_o creature_n be_v raise_v in_o a_o religious_a way_n above_o what_o it_o have_v in_o it_o by_o nature_n if_o i_o have_v not_o scripture_n to_o warrant_v i_o i_o be_o therein_o superstitious_a it_o be_v a_o very_a useful_a rule_n for_o to_o help_v you_o if_o any_o creature_n that_o you_o make_v any_o use_n of_o in_o away_o of_o religion_n beyond_o what_o it_o have_v in_o its_o own_o nature_n if_o you_o have_v not_o some_o warrant_n from_o the_o word_n of_o god_n whatsoever_o specious_a show_n there_o may_v be_v in_o it_o it_o be_v superstition_n as_o now_o for_o the_o place_n there_o be_v a_o place_n that_o be_v holy_a but_o than_o it_o have_v a_o institution_n from_o god_n and_o so_o for_o garment_n to_o use_v those_o that_o be_v decent_a the_o light_n of_o reason_n be_v enough_o but_o if_o i_o will_v put_v any_o thing_n upon_o they_o beyond_o what_o there_o be_v in_o they_o in_o their_o own_o nature_n as_o heretofore_o in_o a_o surplis_fw-la what_o have_v that_o any_o more_o decency_n in_o its_o own_o nature_n but_o only_o man_n institution_n now_o when_o man_n shall_v put_v a_o religious_a respect_n upon_o a_o thing_n by_o virtue_n of_o his_o own_o institution_n when_o he_o have_v not_o a_o warrant_n from_o god_n here_o be_v superstition_n we_o must_v all_o be_v willing_a worshipper_n but_o no_o wil-worshipper_n we_o must_v come_v free_o to_o worship_n god_n but_o we_o must_v not_o worship_n god_n according_a remember_v that_o tertullian_n say_v that_o the_o christian_n do_v so_o sup_v as_o if_o that_o they_o be_v to_o pray_v so_o when_o thou_o be_v in_o company_n thou_o shall_v watch_v unto_o prayer_n oh_o that_o you_o do_v so_o you_o can_v but_o be_v conscious_a to_o yourselves_o that_o oftentimes_o when_o you_o have_v be_v in_o company_n your_o heart_n have_v be_v put_v out_o of_o tune_n and_o frame_v that_o you_o have_v be_v no_o way_n fit_a for_o prayer_n when_o you_o come_v home_o your_o house_n and_o family_n find_v it_o so_o you_o that_o take_v such_o delight_n in_o company_n and_o sit_v up_o late_o i_o appeal_v to_o your_o conscience_n whether_o you_o can_v come_v home_o and_o find_v yourselves_o fit_a either_o in_o your_o family_n or_o closet_n to_o go_v and_o open_v your_o heart_n to_o god_n this_o be_v one_o note_v by_o the_o way_n whereby_o you_o may_v come_v to_o know_v whether_o you_o have_v be_v immoderate_a in_o company_n at_o any_o time_n god_n give_v not_o man_n liberty_n to_o be_v busy_a in_o any_o outward_a occasion_n in_o the_o world_n so_o as_o to_o unfit_a they_o for_o his_o service_n preparation_n consist_v in_o that_o in_o watch_v over_o your_o heart_n that_o you_o may_v not_o be_v unfit_a for_o any_o holy_a duty_n when_o god_n call_v you_o to_o it_o but_o that_o you_o may_v be_v ready_a even_o to_o every_o good_a work_n the_o five_o be_v this_o preparation_n consist_v in_o the_o readiness_n of_o the_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n present_o to_o act_v upon_o the_o set_n upon_o a_o holy_a our_o soul_n and_o grace_n though_o now_o we_o be_v not_o upon_o duty_n yet_o we_o shall_v be_v so_o ready_a that_o as_o it_o be_v upon_o a_o pull_n all_o the_o faculty_n of_o our_o soul_n and_o grace_n of_o god_n spirit_n shall_v work_v in_o a_o melodious_a way_n there_o be_v those_o that_o keep_v their_o heart_n so_o prepare_v as_o at_o the_o very_a first_o moment_n that_o they_o set_v about_o the_o duty_n of_o worship_n all_o faculty_n and_o grace_n begin_v to_o act_v and_o to_o stir_v and_o be_v work_v towards_o god_n as_o a_o fire_n when_o all_o the_o matter_n be_v ready_a lay_v present_o it_o come_v to_o be_v kindle_v and_o flame_n out_o and_o thus_o it_o shall_v be_v with_o our_o heart_n so_o that_o now_o you_o see_v wherein_o preparation_n of_o our_o heart_n to_o duty_n consist_v the_o next_o thing_n be_v the_o excellency_n of_o this_o preparation_n and_o that_o may_v be_v in_o way_n of_o application_n to_o you_o to_o make_v you_o to_o be_v in_o love_n with_o preparation_n for_o holy_a duty_n there_o be_v abundance_n of_o good_a in_o it_o first_o by_o this_o mean_n we_o come_v to_o make_v every_o duty_n of_o worship_n easy_a to_o we_o thing_n be_v difficult_a when_o we_o come_v upon_o they_o unprepared_a if_o you_o have_v a_o friend_n come_v to_o dinner_n or_o supper_n to_o you_o and_o shall_v come_v sudden_o and_o you_o have_v nothing_o prepare_v there_o will_v be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o stir_n in_o the_o house_n but_o if_o you_o have_v every_o thing_n prepare_v it_o will_v be_v carry_v on_o in_o a_o easy_a way_n and_o the_o reason_n why_o people_n complain_v so_o much_o of_o difficulty_n in_o duty_n it_o be_v because_o their_o heart_n be_v not_o prepare_v indeed_o we_o have_v natural_o many_o thing_n to_o keep_v we_o off_o from_o god_n but_o now_o when_o the_o heart_n be_v prepare_v for_o a_o holy_a duty_n it_o go_v off_o as_o easy_a to_o god_n even_o into_o the_o infinite_a ocean_n of_o all_o mercy_n and_o goodness_n as_o a_o ship_n go_v off_o to_o be_v launch_v when_o you_o have_v make_v preparation_n for_o it_o &_o the_o heart_n can_v go_v with_o a_o holy_a boldness_n to_o god_n when_o you_o have_v make_v preparation_n for_o holy_a duty_n in_o job_n 11._o the_o place_n which_o i_o quote_v before_o for_o the_o work_n of_o preparation_n do_v but_o consider_v a_o verse_n or_o two_o further_a and_o you_o shall_v find_v what_o abundance_n of_o good_a there_o come_v upon_o the_o keep_n of_o the_o heart_n prepare_v in_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a verse_n 13._o if_o thou_o prepare_v thy_o heart_n when_o as_o that_o they_o be_v prepare_v hezekiah_n rejoice_v and_o bless_v god_n for_o such_o a_o mercy_n as_o this_o be_v it_o be_v a_o great_a mercy_n to_o have_v the_o heart_n of_o people_n make_v preparation_n there_o may_v be_v as_o much_o work_n do_v in_o one_o hour_n so_o as_o in_o ten_o time_n so_o much_o time_n when_o the_o heart_n be_v not_o prepare_v for_o it_o in_o ezra_n 7.10_o it_o will_v do_v and_o no_o more_o but_o when_o one_o be_v act_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n one_o be_v enlarge_v without_o any_o limit_n at_o all_o not_o bound_v to_o one_o own_o peace_n for_o the_o more_o peace_n a_o gracious_a heart_n have_v in_o duty_n the_o more_o it_o be_v enlarge_v in_o duty_n now_o a_o natural_a conscience_n that_o put_v to_o duty_n and_o will_v act_v you_o when_o you_o want_v peace_n when_o you_o be_v in_o trouble_n and_o fear_n but_o when_o you_o be_v not_o in_o trouble_n and_o fear_n than_o it_o put_v not_o on_o the_o heart_n to_o performance_n of_o duty_n but_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n put_v on_o the_o soul_n to_o duty_n when_o there_o be_v most_o peace_n and_o comfort_n 6_o a_o little_a will_v serve_v the_o turn_n to_o satisfy_v a_o natural_a conscience_n so_o be_v it_o they_o perform_v the_o duty_n it_o be_v enough_o but_o one_o that_o be_v act_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o duty_n must_v meet_v with_o much_o of_o god_n or_o else_o either_o in_o their_o closert_n or_o family_n they_o do_v profess_o devote_v and_o consecrate_v themselves_o to_o god_n and_o so_o likewise_o every_o time_n they_o come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n or_o to_o receive_v sacrament_n god_n will_v account_v his_o name_n to_o be_v sanctify_v in_o such_o a_o work_n as_o this_o be_v 9_o last_o that_o that_o must_v make_v all_o up_o and_o witout_a which_o thou_o for_o direction_n and_o i_o profess_v here_o i_o be_o willing_a to_o give_v up_o my_o whole_a soul_n to_o be_v guide_v by_o thy_o wisdom_n if_o every_o time_n we_o come_v to_o worship_n god_n so_o it_o be_v in_o hear_v the_o word_n it_o may_v be_v when_o you_o go_v home_o there_o be_v some_o thing_n fresh_a in_o your_o mind_n but_o on_o the_o monday_n morning_n you_o have_v lose_v some_o but_o then_o there_o be_v some_o other_o that_o do_v yet_o present_v themselves_o before_o you_o and_o then_o you_o lose_v more_o and_o more_o until_o you_o have_v lose_v the_o fight_n of_o all_o all_o truth_n be_v go_v you_o see_v no_o more_o of_o the_o word_n as_o if_o you_o have_v never_o hear_v it_o this_o be_v not_o to_o sanctify_v god_n name_n you_o shall_v treasure_n up_o the_o word_n as_o the_o most_o rich_a treasure_n that_o may_v be_v another_o sort_n to_o be_v rebuke_v be_v those_o who_o be_v so_o far_o from_o fall_v down_o before_o the_o lord_n to_o receive_v the_o word_n notable_a scripture_n we_o have_v in_o deut._n 29.18_o 19_o say_v moses_n there_o to_o they_o take_v heed_n lest_o there_o shall_v be_v among_o you_o a_o root_n that_o bear_v gall_n and_o wormwood_n what_o be_v that_o root_n that_o bear_v gall_n and_o wormwood_n and_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v when_o he_o bear_v the_o word_n of_o this_o curse_n that_o he_o bless_v himself_o in_o his_o heart_n say_v i_o shall_v have_v peace_n though_o i_o walk_v in_o the_o imagination_n of_o my_o heart_n etc._n etc._n take_v heed_n there_o be_v not_o among_o you_o a_o root_n that_o bear_v gall_n and_o wormwood_n this_o be_v a_o bitter_a root_n in_o man_n heart_n when_o they_o can_v hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o have_v their_o heart_n rise_v against_o it_o and_o think_v with_o themselves_o that_o there_o be_v no_o such_o matter_n these_o be_v but_o mere_a word_n but_o mere_a wind_n let_v the_o minister_n say_v what_o he_o will_v and_o talk_v as_o long_o as_o he_o will_v i_o will_v go_v on_o in_o my_o way_n i_o shall_v do_v well_o enough_o that_o which_o he_o say_v it_o be_v but_o his_o opinion_n i_o say_v when_o man_n can_v bless_v themselves_o thus_o in_o their_o way_n and_o when_o
