solitary_a life_n but_o their_o voluntary_a poverty_n will_v not_o agree_v with_o this_o text_n son_n christ_n poorâ—_n here_o pronounce_v bless_v be_v such_o as_o by_o reason_n of_o their_o poverty_n be_v miserable_a and_o wretched_a want_v outward_a comfort_n as_o we_o show_v oâ—t_v of_o luke_n 24._o where_o christ_n oppose_v they_o to_o the_o rich_a who_o abound_v with_o all_o worldly_a delight_n but_o to_o undergo_v the_o popish_a vow_n of_o voluntary_a poverty_n be_v no_o estate_n of_o misery_n or_o distress_n for_o who_o do_v live_v in_o great_a â—ase_n or_o enjoy_v more_o freedom_n from_o the_o cross_n and_o vexation_n of_o this_o life_n than_o their_o beg_a friar_n again_o if_o their_o vow_a poverty_n have_v any_o ground_n in_o this_o text_n than_o christ_n shall_v pronounce_v such_o poor_a bless_a as_o make_v themselves_o poor_a but_o that_o he_o do_v not_o for_o then_o in_o the_o next_o verse_n he_o shall_v pronounce_v such_o mourner_n bless_v as_o voluntary_o the_o better_a conceive_v of_o this_o heaven_n blessedness_n we_o must_v understand_v a_o state_n or_o condition_n of_o man_n whereby_o he_o be_v in_o god_n favour_n and_o have_v fellowship_n with_o god_n the_o truth_n of_o this_o description_n be_v evident_a by_o the_o tenor_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n now_o this_o estate_n of_o man_n be_v call_v a_o kingdom_n because_o herein_o god_n rule_v as_o king_n and_o man_n obey_v as_o god_n subject_n for_o no_o man_n can_v be_v in_o god_n favour_n nor_o enjoy_v his_o fellowship_n unless_o god_n be_v his_o king_n rule_v in_o his_o heart_n by_o his_o word_n and_o spirit_n and_o he_o god_n subject_n resign_v himself_o to_o be_v rule_v by_o he_o for_o this_o happy_a estate_n consist_v in_o god_n gracious_a rule_v of_o man_n and_o man_n holy_a subjection_n unto_o god_n indeed_o few_o do_v see_v any_o great_a happiness_n in_o this_o estate_n but_o the_o truth_n be_v man_n whole_a felicity_n stand_v herein_o rom._n 14._o 17._o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v not_o meat_n and_o drink_v but_o righteousness_n peace_n and_o joy_n in_o the_o holy_a ghost_n here_o the_o apostle_n teach_v we_o three_o thing_n namely_o that_o when_o god_n spirit_n rule_v in_o a_o man_n heart_n than_o first_o he_o be_v justify_v there_o be_v righteousness_n second_o he_o have_v peace_n with_o god_n even_o that_o peace_n of_o conscience_n which_o pass_v all_o understanding_n three_o the_o joy_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o be_v all_o unspeakable_a comfort_n pass_v all_o worldly_a joy_n whatsoever_o and_o these_o three_o do_v notable_o set_v out_o the_o state_n of_o a_o happy_a man_n which_o will_v yet_o more_o plain_o appear_v by_o their_o contrary_n in_o judas_n who_o be_v a_o wretched_a sinner_n unrighteous_o betray_v his_o master_n and_o thereupon_o fall_v into_o the_o misery_n of_o a_o guilty_a accuse_a conscience_n which_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o his_o desperate_a death_n and_o also_o that_o his_o body_n burst_v asunder_o and_o all_o philosopher_n and_o wise_a happiness_n man_n of_o this_o world_n touch_v happiness_n for_o some_o have_v place_v it_o in_o pleasure_n some_o in_o wealth_n and_o other_o in_o civil_a virtue_n and_o some_o in_o all_o these_o but_o the_o truth_n be_v it_o stand_v in_o none_o of_o these_o a_o natural_a man_n may_v have_v all_o these_o and_o yet_o be_v condemn_v for_o the_o civil_a virtue_n of_o the_o heathen_a be_v in_o they_o but_o glorious_a sin_n our_o saviour_n christ_n have_v here_o reveal_v more_o unto_o we_o than_o all_o the_o wise_a man_n of_o the_o world_n do_v ever_o know_v and_o hereby_o we_o have_v just_a occasion_n to_o magnify_v the_o book_n of_o scripture_n far_o above_o all_o humane_a write_n because_o they_o do_v full_o set_v out_o unto_o we_o the_o nature_n and_o estate_n of_o true_a felicity_n which_o no_o humane_a
and_o rebellion_n into_o our_o land_n if_o this_o be_v not_o our_o peace_n will_v continue_v for_o ever_o for_o 17._o the_o work_n of_o justice_n shall_v be_v peace_n quietness_n and_o assurance_n for_o ever_o and_o again_o 14_o in_o righteousness_n shall_v thou_o be_v establish_v and_o be_v far_o from_o oppression_n this_o therefore_o shall_v move_v all_o ungodly_a person_n to_o repent_v and_o surpass_v the_o dignity_n of_o any_o guard_n of_o man_n on_o earth_n whatsoever_o all_o thing_n work_v together_o for_o the_o best_a unto_o they_o their_o cross_n and_o affliction_n be_v no_o curse_n but_o fatherly_a trial_n and_o chastisement_n yea_o their_o sin_n be_v turn_v to_o their_o good_a to_o they_o death_n be_v no_o death_n but_o a_o sweet_a sleep_n unto_o their_o body_n and_o a_o straight_a passage_n for_o their_o soul_n into_o eternal_a glory_n yea_o in_o the_o act_n of_o death_n they_o have_v the_o comfort_n of_o life_n in_o the_o joy_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o the_o angel_n ready_a when_o breath_n depart_v to_o carry_v their_o soul_n to_o heaven_n if_o this_o be_v true_a happiness_n to_o be_v call_v god_n child_n then_o they_o that_o use_n live_v after_o their_o own_o wicked_a lust_n void_a of_o all_o care_n to_o keep_v a_o good_a conscience_n be_v miserable_a and_o accurse_a for_o they_o be_v the_o child_n of_o the_o devil_n serve_v he_o in_o the_o work_n of_o sin_n and_o express_v his_o image_n in_o ungodliness_n and_o worldly_a lust_n it_o stand_v they_o therefore_o in_o hand_n if_o they_o have_v any_o care_n of_o true_a happiness_n to_o labour_v after_o regeneration_n whereby_o forsake_v the_o lust_n and_o course_n of_o their_o former_a ignorance_n and_o embrace_v and_o obey_v sincere_o the_o word_n of_o life_n they_o may_v become_v god_n child_n and_o so_o happy_a second_o have_v thou_o receive_v this_o grace_n of_o god_n spirit_n whereby_o thou_o 2_o be_v incline_v to_o have_v peace_n with_o all_o man_n and_o to_o seek_v for_o peace_n between_o god_n and_o thy_o own_o conscience_n yea_o between_o the_o lord_n and_o other_o then_o comfort_v thyself_o thou_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n these_o motion_n come_v from_o grace_n persecution_n whatsoever_o now_o because_o it_o be_v a_o paradox_n and_o absurd_a in_o humane_a reason_n to_o think_v he_o bless_v that_o for_o any_o cause_n be_v persecute_v therefore_o christ_n to_o verify_v the_o truth_n hereof_o repeat_v the_o same_o rule_n in_o the_o nextwerse_n where_o also_o he_o expound_v every_o parcel_n thereof_o wherewith_o i_o will_v content_v myself_o because_o a_o five_o call_v separation_n whereby_o man_n be_v excommunicate_v and_o cast_v out_o of_o the_o temple_n &_o synagogue_n for_o christ_n sake_n and_o his_o gospel_n these_o be_v the_o several_a god_n will_v continue_v the_o truth_n of_o his_o will_n to_o we_o and_o to_o our_o posterity_n for_o ever_o the_o second_o conclusion_n whosoever_o shall_v keep_v they_o and_o teach_v man_n so_o the_o write_n of_o man_n with_o the_o knowledge_n of_o art_n and_o tongue_n be_v excellent_a help_n yet_o if_o a_o man_n want_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n frame_v his_o heart_n to_o believe_v and_o obey_v the_o word_n he_o teach_v whereby_o he_o shall_v become_v a_o doer_n of_o it_o doubtless_o the_o word_n will_v seem_v but_o a_o dream_n or_o riddle_n unto_o he_o neither_o can_v he_o fit_o apply_v the_o same_o unto_o other_o have_v never_o have_v experience_n of_o it_o in_o his_o own_o soul_n this_o than_o shall_v move_v all_o minister_n and_o such_o as_o set_v themselves_o to_o this_o call_n first_o and_o chief_o to_o labour_v to_o become_v doer_n of_o the_o word_n themselves_o other_o help_n of_o learning_n be_v to_o be_v fight_v for_o with_o all_o diligence_n to_o make_v they_o fit_a and_o able_a minister_n of_o so_o great_a mystery_n but_o especial_o they_o must_v labour_v for_o the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n to_o frame_v their_o heart_n to_o embrace_v and_o their_o life_n to_o
