good_a help_n to_o make_v supply_n unto_o our_o want_n for_o in_o the_o practice_n of_o holy_a duty_n we_o be_v like_a unto_o a_o man_n that_o be_v new_o recover_v of_o some_o grievous_a sickness_n who_o can_v walk_v in_o his_o chamber_n yet_o not_o by_o himself_o alone_o but_o either_o with_o his_o staff_n or_o lean_v upon_o a_o other_o man_n shoulder_n even_o so_o we_o be_v weak_a and_o feeble_a in_o prayer_n have_v need_n of_o the_o help_n of_o set_a form_n of_o prayer_n to_o hold_v up_o our_o feeble_a hand_n unto_o god_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v requisite_a for_o man_n to_o use_v set_v form_n of_o prayer_n at_o least_o for_o the_o matter_n and_o order_n thereof_o in_o their_o own_o heart_n yea_o and_o many_o time_n it_o be_v needful_a for_o some_o to_o use_v set_v prayer_n for_o word_n for_o many_o that_o have_v true_a grace_n in_o their_o heart_n want_v utterance_n to_o express_v it_o and_o if_o they_o may_v not_o use_v set_v form_n of_o prayer_n they_o shall_v be_v deprive_v of_o many_o great_a comfort_n especial_o when_o they_o pray_v with_o other_o so_o that_o if_o the_o heart_n be_v right_o prepare_v thereto_o set_v prayer_n do_v not_o quench_v but_o help_v the_o weak_a gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n both_o in_o the_o heart_n and_o tongue_n by_o this_o than_o we_o see_v that_o neither_o our_o church_n nor_o any_o other_o where_o a_o set_a form_n of_o divine_a service_n be_v establish_v be_v therefore_o to_o be_v blame_v because_o the_o same_o be_v both_o necessary_a and_o profitable_a second_o here_o we_o see_v that_o it_o be_v meet_v and_o necessary_a we_o shall_v have_v some_o set_a form_n of_o prayer_n in_o our_o heart_n according_a to_o our_o peculiar_a estate_n whereby_o we_o may_v express_v unto_o god_n our_o particular_a want_n and_o crave_v supply_v thereof_o particular_o some_o think_v we_o must_v only_o pray_v upon_o extraordinary_a instinct_n and_o motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n but_o so_o many_o be_v our_o want_n that_o unless_o we_o prepare_v ourselves_o before_o hand_n we_o can_v pray_v aright_o and_o therefore_o to_o avoid_v many_o distraction_n and_o let_n in_o our_o mind_n heart_n and_o utterance_n it_o shall_v be_v sound_a needful_a to_o prescribe_v unto_o ourselves_o a_o set_a form_n of_o prayer_n we_o be_v content_a to_o keep_v a_o set_a order_n for_o our_o diet_n and_o apparel_n and_o why_o shall_v we_o not_o do_v it_o in_o prayer_n which_o concern_v the_o comfort_n and_o refresh_n of_o our_o soul_n a_o second_o thing_n to_o be_v gather_v from_o this_o commandment_n be_v this_o prayer_n that_o the_o lord_n prayer_n be_v the_o most_o excellent_a form_n of_o prayer_n that_o be_v or_o can_v be_v make_v by_o any_o creature_n for_o it_o be_v indict_v and_o propound_v by_o the_o son_n of_o god_n who_o be_v the_o wisdom_n of_o the_o father_n now_o the_o excellency_n of_o it_o stand_v in_o these_o thing_n i._o in_o the_o pithy_a shortness_n of_o it_o for_o in_o 1_o few_o word_n it_o comprise_v endless_a matter_n ii_o in_o the_o perfection_n of_o it_o 2_o for_o it_o contain_v in_o it_o whatsoever_o be_v to_o be_v ask_v in_o prayer_n in_o which_o respect_n â—ertullian_n it_o be_v well_o acceptation_n it_o have_v with_o god_n the_o father_n for_o it_o contain_v 4_o the_o word_n of_o christ_n his_o son_n in_o who_o the_o father_n be_v well_o please_v use._n 1._o the_o excellency_n of_o this_o prayer_n show_v plain_o that_o if_o any_o set_a form_n of_o prayer_n may_v be_v use_v than_o this_o may_v be_v indict_v by_o the_o mediator_n of_o the_o church_n and_o therefore_o the_o anabaptist_n of_o our_o day_n be_v foul_o deceive_v who_o deny_v the_o use_n hereof_o for_o a_o prayer_n when_o as_o before_o this_o time_n for_o the_o space_n of_o fifteen_o hundred_o year_n after_o christ_n there_o be_v never_o any_o that_o disallow_v it_o second_o hence_o we_o see_v that_o the_o practice_n of_o those_o preacher_n be_v commendable_a who_o use_v to_o conclude_v their_o prayer_n with_o the_o lord_n prayer_n for_o hereby_o as_o by_o a_o most_o perfect_a and_o excellent_a prayer_n the_o want_n and_o imperfection_n of_o our_o prayer_n be_v supply_v three_o whereas_o some_o will_v gather_v from_o the_o perfection_n and_o excellency_n of_o this_o prayer_n that_o it_o alone_o be_v sufficient_a to_o be_v use_v they_o be_v deceive_v for_o christ_n intent_n be_v rather_o to_o commend_v this_o prayer_n unto_o we_o for_o matter_n and_o manner_n then_o for_o the_o word_n thereof_o again_o though_o it_o be_v a_o most_o perfect_a prayer_n yet_o it_o be_v only_o general_a but_o every_o true_a believer_n must_v have_v particular_a prayer_n whereby_o in_o special_a form_n and_o manner_n his_o particular_a estate_n and_o condition_n may_v be_v make_v know_v unto_o the_o lord_n yet_o so_o as_o they_o be_v always_o suitable_a unto_o this_o form_n here_o prescribe_v and_o thus_o much_o of_o the_o commandment_n now_o follow_v the_o prayer_n itself_o our_o father_n which_o be_v
