in_o his_o church_n and_o by_o the_o singular_a number_n speak_v of_o one_o city_n he_o mean_v many_o so_o that_o the_o sense_n be_v i_o therefore_o praise_v thou_o oh_o thou_o messiah_n and_o god_o be_v often_o afflict_v and_o persecute_v in_o this_o world_n and_o therefore_o that_o all_o which_o will_v submit_v themselves_o to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n must_v look_v for_o *_o no_o better_a entertainment_n here_o 12_o and_o yet_o with_o strong_a faith_n conceive_v this_o comfort_n that_o their_o king_n their_o lord_n and_o god_n will_v either_o mighty_o deliver_v they_o the_o wicked_a that_o they_o do_v die_v and_o live_v not_o again_o for_o their_o resurrection_n shall_v be_v to_o they_o a_o death_n perpetual_a and_o no_o life_n and_o although_o they_o seem_v to_o prosper_v and_o flourish_v long_o on_o earth_n to_o the_o annoyance_n of_o the_o godly_a yet_o the_o lord_n visit_v they_o in_o due_a time_n 16_o *_o and_o root_v the_o memory_n of_o they_o out_o of_o the_o earth_n so_o that_o they_o shall_v never_o rise_v again_o to_o glory_n thou_o have_v increase_v the_o people_n 17._o oh_o lord_n thou_o have_v increase_v etc_n etc_n this_o be_v the_o other_o part_n of_o the_o comparison_n touch_v the_o godly_a as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v thou_o oh_o lord_n christ_n destroy_v the_o wicked_a and_o roote_v out_o their_o memory_n nevertheless_o thou_o do_v gather_v thy_o church_n and_o increase_v the_o number_n of_o thy_o people_n that_o thy_o glory_n may_v be_v spread_v and_o extend_v to_o the_o uttermost_a bound_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o yet_o do_v thou_o not_o gather_v they_o to_o rest_n and_o quietness_n of_o this_o life_n but_o to_o great_a vexation_n and_o affliction_n and_o therefore_o do_v they_o resort_v to_o thou_o in_o their_o trouble_n chamber_n and_o shut_v thy_o door_n etc_n etc_n this_o be_v a_o consolation_n in_o the_o person_n of_o christ_n exhort_v his_o people_n patient_o for_o a_o time_n to_o bear_v the_o affliction_n and_o to_o be_v mark_v and_o all_o israel_n shall_v hear_v and_o fear_v and_o shall_v do_v no_o more_o any_o such_o wickedness_n the_o good_a and_o godly_a be_v stay_v from_o evil_a through_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o reverence_n of_o his_o word_n but_o the_o other_o which_o be_v always_o the_o more_o part_n will_v not_o be_v bridle_v but_o with*_n severity_n &_o fear_n of_o punishment_n 38_o whereby_o we_o may_v learn_v how_o necessary_a sharp_a correction_n and_o punishment_n be_v in_o christian_a common_a weal_n for_o such_o be_v the_o corruption_n of_o man_n nature_n that_o where_o they_o see_v hope_n of_o impunity_n they_o run_v on_o headlong_o to_o the_o great_a mischief_n but_o by_o example_n of_o punishment_n and_o fear_n of_o justice_n they_o be_v somewhat_o stay_v and_o keep_v in_o order_n if_o thou_o shall_v hear_v say_v in_o one_o of_o thy_o city_n 15._o which_o the_o lord_n etc_n etc_n if_o the_o infection_n of_o apostasy_n and_o fall_v from_o god_n do_v grow_v from_o the_o false_a prophet_n to_o the_o people_n and_o from_o some_o of_o the_o people_n to_o a_o whole_a city_n god_n will_v the_o whole_a city_n not_o to_o be_v spare_v but_o to_o be_v put_v to_o spoil_n into_o the_o mid_n of_o the_o street_n thereof_o 18._o etc_n etc_n god_n will_v the_o whole_a furniture_n and_o implement_n of_o the_o city_n to_o be_v gather_v into_o one_o place_n and_o hand_n which_o thou_o shall_v geve_v unto_o the_o lord_n thy_o god_n according_a as_o the_o lord_n thy_o god_n have_v bless_v thou_o 11_o and_o thou_o shall_v rejoice_v before_o the_o lord_n thy_o god_n thou_o and_o thy_o son_n thy_o daughter_n thy_o servant_n and_o thy_o maid_n and_o the_o levite_n that_o be_v within_o thy_o gate_n
