and_o disfigure_v the_o golden_a character_n of_o grace_n in_o their_o soul_n the_o least_o character_n of_o grace_n in_o the_o soul_n be_v more_o worth_a than_o all_o the_o gold_n of_o ophir_n yea_o more_o worth_a than_o ten_o thousand_o thousand_o world_n 12_o eph._n 4.30_o psal_n 51.11_o 12_o and_o therefore_o every_o gracious_a christian_n shall_v be_v marvellous_a careful_a that_o he_o do_v not_o by_o wilful_a omission_n or_o sinful_a commission_n cloud_n dim_a or_o darken_v the_o least_o character_n of_o grace_n such_o as_o blot_v or_o lose_v their_o evidence_n for_o heaven_n they_o lose_v the_o comfort_n of_o their_o life_n in_o this_o world_n satan_n masterpiece_n be_v first_o to_o work_v christian_n to_o blot_n and_o blur_v their_o evidence_n for_o glory_n by_o commit_v this_o or_o that_o heinous_a sin_n and_o then_o his_o next_o work_n be_v to_o rob_v they_o of_o their_o evidence_n for_o glory_n that_o so_o though_o at_o the_o long_o run_v they_o may_v get_v safe_a to_o heaven_n that_o yet_o jacob_n like_v they_o may_v go_v halt_v and_o mourn_v to_o their_o grave_n satan_n know_v that_o whilst_o a_o christian_n evidence_n be_v bright_a and_o shine_a a_o christian_n be_v temptation-proof_n satan_n may_v tempt_v he_o but_o he_o can_v conquer_v he_o he_o may_v assault_v he_o but_o he_o can_v vanquish_v he_o satan_n know_v that_o whilst_o a_o christian_n evidence_n for_o heaven_n be_v bright_a and_o shine_a no_o affliction_n can_v sink_v he_o nor_o no_o opposition_n shake_v he_o nor_o no_o persecution_n discourage_v he_o nor_o no_o outward_a want_v perplex_v he_o and_o therefore_o he_o will_v use_v all_o his_o power_n and_o policy_n all_o his_o art_n craft_n and_o part_n to_o draw_v poor_a christian_n to_o blot_n and_o blur_v their_o evidence_n for_o glory_n satan_n know_v that_o a_o man_n may_v lose_v one_o friend_n and_o easy_o get_v another_o lose_v his_o trade_n in_o one_o place_n and_o soon_o get_v a_o trade_n in_o another_o place_n lose_v health_n and_o get_v it_o lose_v a_o estate_n and_o get_v a_o estate_n etc._n etc._n but_o if_o he_o lose_v his_o evidence_n for_o heaven_n he_o know_v it_o will_v cost_v he_o many_o a_o prayer_n and_o many_o a_o sigh_n and_o many_o a_o groan_n and_o many_o a_o tear_n and_o many_o a_o sad_a complaint_n before_o he_o recover_v his_o lose_a evidence_n and_o therefore_o his_o grand_a design_n be_v to_o plunder_v a_o christian_a of_o his_o evidence_n for_o heaven_n o_o sir_n keep_v but_o your_o evidence_n for_o heaven_n always_o bright_a and_o shine_a and_o then_o heavy_a affliction_n will_v be_v light_n and_o long_a affliction_n will_v be_v short_a 18._o 2_o cor._n 4.16_o 17_o 18._o and_o bitter_a affliction_n will_v be_v sweet_a and_o then_o every_o evidence_n fain_o write_v in_o heaven_n be_v clear_a and_o his_o spring_n of_o comfort_n rise_v high_a then_o to_o have_v his_o heart_n and_o the_o eye_n of_o his_o faith_n most_o firm_o fix_v upon_o these_o three_o royal_a fort_n or_o these_o five_o city_n or_o refuge_n it_o must_v be_v grant_v that_o though_o our_o grace_n be_v our_o best_a jewel_n yet_o they_o be_v imperfect_a and_o do_v not_o give_v out_o their_o full_a lustre_n they_o be_v like_o the_o moon_n which_o when_o it_o shine_v bright_a have_v her_o dark_a spot_n and_o therefore_o a_o christian_a have_v need_n have_v his_o eye_n his_o heart_n fix_v upon_o
