be_v make_v worthy_a of_o such_o a_o glorious_a infusion_n and_o inspiration_n of_o the_o eternal_a love_n and_o mercy_n quest_n but_o what_o shall_v we_o do_v see_v the_o ruler_n of_o our_o land_n in_o enmity_n to_o his_o power_n of_o love_n and_o mercy_n which_o be_v the_o curse_a state_n of_o darkness_n so_o you_o know_v your_o advantage_n of_o treasure_n and_o prerogative_n of_o dominion_n creator_n appear_v in_o themselves_o will_v also_o know_v from_o he_o who_o so_o appear_v the_o true_a and_o live_a way_n of_o his_o true_a live_v and_o pure_a worship_n which_o he_o teach_v all_o in_o the_o unity_n and_o truth_n of_o his_o own_o wisdom_n and_o knowledge_n the_o which_o must_v certain_o put_v a_o end_n unto_o all_o that_o which_o be_v diverse_a &_o from_o the_o way_n of_o his_o agreeable_a to_o what_o i_o have_v signify_v touch_v the_o contrariety_n between_o corruption_n and_o incorruption_n light_n and_o darkness_n purity_n and_o beastliness_n the_o which_o i_o pass_v by_o all_o thing_n through_o the_o withdraw_n of_o his_o essence_n and_o presence_n because_o as_o the_o creator_n be_v but_o one_o and_o his_o life_n but_o one_o doubtless_o therefore_o it_o be_v but_o his_o life_n alone_o that_o do_v or_o can_v give_v life_n his_o presence_n that_o give_v be_v and_o preserve_v life_n and_o the_o withdraw_a thereof_o the_o fall_n of_o all_o flesh_n unto_o death_n feel_v wound_n without_o food_n etc._n etc._n but_o his_o glorious_a power_n and_o wisdom_n will_v not_o be_v tempt_v because_o he_o will_v be_v reverence_v and_o great_o fear_v in_o all_o thing_n and_o in_o fear_n worship_v and_o serve_v as_o the_o creator_n of_o all_o thing_n now_o as_o for_o the_o visible_a sun_n be_v natural_o contrary_a to_o the_o element_n of_o the_o river_n and_o sea_n can_v possible_o dwell_v with_o the_o fish_n that_o be_v in_o their_o water_n so_o as_o to_o give_v they_o a_o constanr_a subsistence_n of_o life_n the_o which_o the_o mean_a capacity_n may_v easy_o perceive_v be_v a_o fiery_a
they_o and_o dwell_v in_o it_o as_o he_o abide_v and_o rest_v in_o himself_o will_v come_v to_o see_v themselves_o swallow_v up_o as_o in_o a_o bottomless_a and_o endless_a ocean_n in_o the_o same_o property_n of_o his_o nature_n viz._n in_o everlasting_a peace_n of_o the_o soul_n feel_v and_o enjoy_v inward_o which_o will_v wrap_v up_o all_o soul_n in_o such_o a_o height_n above_o disquiet_n or_o any_o thing_n of_o that_o nature_n that_o be_v adulterate_v from_o the_o holy_a similitude_n that_o all_o will_v choose_v that_o their_o earthly_a member_n may_v die_v that_o their_o soul_n may_v for_o ever_o possess_v the_o peace_n rather_o than_o to_o live_v in_o the_o body_n of_o flesh_n to_o break_v the_o peace_n of_o their_o particular_a soul_n or_o the_o peace_n of_o any_o of_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o spiritual_a body_n of_o peace_n to_o who_o in_o the_o eternal_a peace_n they_o be_v unite_v which_o be_v the_o immeasurable_a state_n of_o blessing_n pass_v all_o understanding_n 2._o another_o property_n of_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o holy_a one_o be_v love_n perfect_a love_n without_o hypocrisy_n or_o envy_n in_o himself_o all_o therefore_o unite_n unto_o the_o power_n of_o restoration_n unto_o the_o glorious_a likeness_n will_v come_v to_o see_v the_o eternal_a love_n feed_v and_o save_v his_o enemy_n and_o the_o restore_v be_v of_o the_o same_o similitude_n of_o their_o maker_n must_v in_o that_o respect_n do_v as_o their_o creator_n do_v love_n and_o feed_v enemy_n for_o they_o can_v do_v otherwise_o be_v of_o the_o bowel_n of_o their_o maker_n and_o whilst_o this_o spirit_n love_v enemy_n much_o more_o must_v love_v the_o unite_a in_o the_o love_n unto_o it_o if_o it_o can_v hate_v not_o envy_v enemy_n much_o less_o the_o unite_a friend_n but_o cruelty_n even_o unto_o murder_n of_o the_o sigh_v and_o groan_v measure_n of_o the_o light_n in_o himself_o against_o his_o creator_n who_o first_o give_v the_o measure_n in_o the_o bounty_n of_o his_o everlasting_a love_n that_o man_n by_o it_o shall_v be_v lead_v to_o be_v like_o he_o the_o giver_n of_o it_o in_o holy_a merciful_a bowel_n yet_o as_o in_o mercy_n upon_o mercy_n have_v now_o last_o provide_v he_o a_o voice_n to_o call_v unto_o it_o as_o a_o cry_a bloodshed_n upon_o the_o earth_n and_o also_o to_o awaken_v his_o bloody_a soul_n that_o shed_v it_o draw_v his_o soul_n near_o unto_o it_o to_o reconcile_v himself_o with_o the_o soul_n in_o and_o by_o it_o though_o the_o soul_n have_v treacherous_o deal_v with_o he_o and_o murtherous_o fight_v in_o rebellion_n against_o he_o this_o show_v mercy_n to_o enemy_n pity_v to_o rebel_n compassion_n to_o bloody_a traitor_n wherefore_o as_o all_o come_v to_o unite_n unto_o the_o power_n of_o mercy_n to_o be_v lead_v into_o the_o true_a image_n and_o according_o in_o union_n with_o the_o eternal_a fountain_n of_o mercy_n not_o one_o will_v be_v able_a in_o it_o to_o do_v a_o thing_n contrary_n to_o the_o nature_n of_o it_o but_o the_o whole_a world_n come_v to_o be_v as_o one_o entire_a glorious_a body_n of_o mercy_n pity_n and_o compassion_n whereby_o no_o distress_n languish_v want_v or_o misery_n will_v be_v find_v for_o be_v put_v into_o a_o body_n of_o flesh_n he_o give_v it_o a_o sense_n of_o feel_v there_o as_o likewise_o in_o it_o a_o sense_n of_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o creation_n as_o beast_n fish_n fowl_n etc._n etc._n to_o who_o this_o be_v the_o substance_n of_o the_o first_o comandment_n give_v he_o in_o his_o state_n of_o innocency_n that_o he_o shall_v not_o go_v in_o his_o mind_n out_o from_o the_o power_n that_o create_v he_o a_o live_a soul_n into_o the_o flesh_n for_o knowledge_n or_o pleasure_n for_o thereby_o he_o shall_v adulterate_v his_o soul_n with_o the_o flesh_n and_o so_o both_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o flesh_n become_v a_o corruption_n and_o curse_n of_o death_n and_o in_o so_o do_v he_o shall_v go_v from_o the_o likeness_n of_o his_o creator_n who_o can_v go_v out_o of_o himself_o into_o any_o creature_n for_o knowledge_n or_o pleasure_n but_o man_n soul_n enter_v into_o consultation_n with_o a_o aspire_a concupiscence_n in_o the_o feel_n of_o his_o own_o flesh_n yield_v to_o know_v and_o give_v himself_o thereinto_o and_o so_o become_v as_o a_o wed_a spouse_n unto_o corruption_n in_o that_o day_n be_v his_o first_o evil_a and_o the_o birth_n of_o the_o first_o devil_n whereby_o it_o may_v be_v understand_v that_o the_o eternal_a wisdom_n never_o derogate_a from_o his_o glory_n of_o holiness_n in_o the_o creation_n so_o as_o that_o any_o man_n may_v say_v he_o create_v a_o devil_n immediate_o in_o his_o hand_n which_o can_v never_o be_v as_o i_o have_v former_o show_v more_o large_o by_o his_o eternal_a holiness_n immutablity_n and_o wisdom_n but_o create_v all_o thing_n in_o themselves_o mutable_a even_o man_n innocent_a soul_n also_o in_o itself_o mutable_a as_o well_o as_o any_o other_o of_o the_o creature_n and_o reserve_v immutability_n only_o in_o himself_o that_o man_n may_v know_v he_o as_o his_o maker_n and_o so_o live_v only_o in_o he_o as_o the_o immutable_a one_o in_o his_o holiness_n wisdom_n life_n glory_n and_o joy_n but_o he_o let_v forth_o his_o mind_n out_o of_o the_o immutable_a power_n of_o wisdom_n and_o preservation_n become_v as_o aforesaid_a a_o evildoer_n and_o then_o his_o thought_n be_v not_o like_a unto_o the_o thought_n of_o his_o maker_n nor_o his_o knowledge_n nor_o nature_n like_v unto_o that_o in_o which_o he_o be_v create_v but_o all_o his_o faculty_n alienate_v degenerate_v and_o separate_v in_o the_o adulteration_n from_o the_o likeness_n life_n and_o immutable_a power_n and_o wisdom_n of_o his_o creator_n so_o that_o be_v the_o first_o actual_a evil_n must_v needs_o be_v the_o birth_n of_o the_o first_o devil_n see_v the_o devil_n be_v that_o mind_n that_o do_v evil_a in_o every_o man_n and_o therefore_o nothing_o can_v be_v call_v a_o evildoer_n until_o a_o evil_n be_v first_o do_v and_o commit_v which_o i_o speak_v to_o the_o end_n of_o stop_v and_o put_v a_o end_n to_o all_o blasphemous_a supposition_n and_o imagination_n and_o of_o sanctify_v the_o name_n of_o the_o holy_a one_o in_o the_o eye_n of_o all_o nation_n whilst_o i_o speak_v of_o he_o in_o the_o glorious_a power_n of_o his_o wisdom_n in_o the_o work_n of_o his_o creation_n thus_o then_o as_o follow_v in_o answer_n man_n adulteration_n from_o the_o virtue_n of_o the_o life_n of_o his_o maker_n alienate_v the_o faculty_n of_o his_o soul_n and_o bring_v upon_o it_o horrid_a darkness_n and_o confusion_n which_o spread_v over_o he_o as_o a_o extreme_a and_o
mighty_a power_n until_o which_o there_o be_v no_o enmity_n envy_n discord_n nor_o cruelty_n know_v in_o the_o earth_n but_o man_n be_v at_o peace_n and_o unity_n in_o his_o innocency_n with_o the_o holy_a one_o therefore_o the_o original_a cause_n of_o discord_n envy_n and_o cruelty_n be_v transgression_n and_o the_o chain_n thereof_o to_o this_o day_n among_o man_n be_v the_o power_n of_o effect_n in_o which_o righteousness_n will_v run_v down_o as_o stream_n and_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o eternal_a wisdom_n will_v cover_v the_o earth_n as_o water_n cover_v the_o sea_n and_o here_o you_o will_v come_v to_o see_v yourselves_o as_o the_o crystal_n channel_n through_o which_o the_o live_a water_n of_o the_o fountain_n of_o heaven_n will_v be_v a_o continual_a current_n the_o sweet_a stream_n thereof_o overflow_a the_o bless_v valley_n within_o you_o and_o water_v every_o plant_n therein_o make_v all_o thing_n fruitful_a in_o you_o and_o among_o you_o easy_a to_o be_v find_v as_o not_o to_o look_v without_o himself_o to_o seek_v and_o find_v it_o must_v not_o only_o confess_v himself_o to_o be_v a_o fool_n in_o his_o own_o heart_n but_o also_o as_o a_o devil_n in_o his_o continual_a word_n and_o work_n and_o sevenfold_a worthy_a of_o condemnation_n under_o the_o power_n of_o darkness_n and_o death_n unto_o its_o pit_n of_o the_o burn_n of_o suggestion_n and_o appearance_n and_o break_v the_o cockatrice_n egg_n before_o the_o serpent_n be_v hatch_v and_o thus_o all_o will_v come_v to_o see_v that_o the_o inward_a and_o visible_a cross_n to_o the_o inward_a mind_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o flesh_n keep_v the_o soul_n clean_o out_o of_o the_o mind_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o flesh_n in_o the_o mind_n of_o the_o eternal_a spirit_n again_o watch_v to_o fear_v in_o every_o joy_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o every_o glorious_a and_o heavenly_a gift_n lest_o the_o joy_n shall_v slip_v out_o of_o the_o true_a measure_n and_o a_o
