end_n than_o it_o be_v in_o its_o biginning_n so_o man_n understanding_n the_o more_o perfect_o it_o have_v penetrate_v the_o effect_n the_o more_o earnest_o do_v it_o seek_v to_o know_v the_o cause_n of_o they_o therefore_o i_o do_v not_o see_v how_o the_o natural_a appetite_n of_o man_n understanding_n may_v be_v satisfy_v without_o the_o clear_a sight_n of_o almighty_a god_n which_o also_o be_v whence_o it_o be_v that_o if_o any_o limit_v dimension_n or_o number_n be_v presuppose_v there_o remain_v always_o a_o faculty_n of_o our_o understanding_n to_o add_v somewhat_o further_o and_o further_o without_o end_n and_o this_o be_v the_o nature_n of_o that_o infinity_n which_o the_o mathemacians_n in_o their_o line_n and_o number_n call_v the_o infinity_n of_o increase_n or_o augment_v happen_v to_o be_v want_v make_v those_o person_n miserable_a who_o be_v already_o settle_v and_o at_o rest_n in_o those_o secret_a tabernacle_n of_o the_o just_a and_o therefore_o when_o it_o so_o fall_v out_o in_o the_o devastation_n of_o that_o great_a city_n and_o of_o the_o adjacent_a town_n that_o the_o body_n of_o good_a christian_n have_v not_o burial_n we_o may_v not_o present_o wherein_o possible_o our_o friend_n kindred_n child_n or_o parent_n may_v be_v defective_a towards_o we_o so_o that_o indeed_o in_o case_n these_o supplication_n we_o speak_v of_o which_o be_v usual_o do_v in_o right_a faith_n and_o piety_n for_o the_o dead_a shall_v be_v want_v or_o not_o make_v at_o all_o i_o for_o my_o part_n suppose_v it_o will_v not_o much_o profit_n a_o man_n soul_n to_o report_v to_o have_v meet_v with_o in_o his_o imaginary_a travel_n through_o hell_n and_o that_o the_o ghost_n of_o some_o unburied_a person_n shall_v appear_v to_o he_o beg_v the_o same_o thing_n of_o he_o which_o palinurus_n be_v fable_v to_o have_v do_v of_o aeneas_n that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o inter_v of_o his_o corpse_n and_o that_o when_o he_o awake_v he_o shall_v indeed_o find_v the_o body_n in_o such_o a_o place_n as_o be_v tell_v he_o in_o his_o dream_n if_o because_o he_o find_v thus_o much_o of_o his_o dream_n to_o be_v true_a he_o shall_v fall_v to_o think_v that_o therefore_o man_n body_n be_v bury_v that_o the_o soul_n thereby_o may_v pass_v unto_o those_o place_n of_o rest_n to_o which_o otherwise_o by_o the_o law_n of_o hell_n they_o can_v not_o pass_v who_o doubt_v small_a advantage_n but_o to_o know_v clear_o and_o certain_o that_o they_o be_v not_o to_o be_v inquire_v further_o after_o as_o when_o a_o man_n study_v hard_a to_o learn_v a_o thing_n which_o he_o suppose_v perhaps_o will_v be_v much_o for_o his_o profit_n yet_o i_o think_v it_o do_v he_o no_o harm_n when_o a_o other_o man_n right_o inform_v he_o how_o to_o do_v as_o well_o without_o it_o chap._n xviii_o to_o conclude_v therefore_o thing_n stand_v thus_o as_o have_v be_v say_v we_o be_v not_o to_o imagine_v that_o any_o thing_n we_o do_v for_o the_o dead_a do_v profit_v they_o save_o that_o only_a which_o we_o beg_v for_o they_o of_o almighty_a god_n by_o the_o sacrifice_n which_o we_o make_v to_o he_o on_o their_o behalf_n austin_n mass_n alm_n and_o prayer_n profitable_a for_o the_o dead_a accord_n to_o s._n austin_n that_o be_v to_o say_v by_o the_o holy_a sacrifice_n of_o the_o altar_n by_o alm_n or_o by_o our_o own_o prayer_n yea_o even_o these_o advantage_n not_o all_o for_o who_o they_o be_v make_v but_o such_o only_a grace_n prayer_n and_o mass_n for_o the_o dead_a profit_n only_o such_o who_o die_v in_o god_n grace_n who_o former_a life_n have_v deserve_v that_o such_o good_a office_n shall_v profit_v they_o after_o death_n but_o because_o we_o ourselves_o discern_v not_o certain_o among_o the_o dead_a who_o be_v such_o and_o who_o be_v not_o such_o it_o be_v think_v more_o expedient_a to_o do_v these_o thing_n in_o general_a for_o all_o the_o faithful_a depart_v discourse_n a_o pious_a and_o prudent_a discourse_n to_o the_o intent_n that_o none_o be_v omit_v to_o who_o such_o favour_n may_v of_o right_o belong_v for_o it_o be_v much_o better_o if_o it_o so_o fall_v out_o that_o some_o thing_n superfluous_a be_v do_v in_o regard_n of_o those_o who_o receive_v neither_o good_a nor_o harm_n by_o they_o then_o that_o any_o thing_n necessary_a shall_v be_v want_v to_o those_o who_o have_v need_v howbeit_o every_o man_n perform_v these_o thing_n with_o more_o diligence_n and_o devotion_n for_o his_o particular_a friend_n then_o otherwise_o as_o expect_v the_o same_o measure_n of_o charity_n afterward_o from_o his_o own_o but_o as_o to_o this_o matter_n of_o funeral_n and_o all_o that_o solemnity_n which_o we_o use_v about_o inter_v the_o body_n whatsoever_o be_v spend_v or_o do_v that_o way_n it_o be_v no_o succour_n or_o salvation_n to_o the_o soul_n but_o a_o office_n of_o pure_a humanity_n agreeable_a unto_o and_o issue_v from_o that_o affection_n whereby_o all_o man_n natural_o love_v their_o own_o flesh_n it_o the_o final_a resolution_n of_o the_o question_n that_o it_o be_v good_a careful_o to_o bury_v the_o dead_a and_o also_o to_o bury_v they_o in_o place_n consecrate_v to_o martyr_n and_o when_o their_o relic_n be_v the_o reason_n of_o it_o yea_o and_o think_v it_o reasonable_a that_o in_o some_o case_n a_o man_n shall_v have_v care_n of_o his_o neighbour_n body_n as_o well_o as_o of_o his_o own_o and_o in_o this_o case_n especial_o when_o the_o spirit_n be_v go_v to_o who_o it_o do_v belong_v when_o time_n be_v to_o uphold_v and_o govern_v it_o and_o true_o if_o they_o who_o believe_v not_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o flesh_n do_v yet_o perform_v such_o thing_n to_o their_o dead_a how_o much_o more_o ought_v we_o to_o do_v so_o who_o believe_v not_o only_o that_o the_o dead_a body_n shall_v rise_v again_o and_o live_v for_o ever_o but_o that_o the_o performance_n of_o such_o good_a office_n towards_o they_o be_v itself_o in_o some_o sort_n a_o testimony_n of_o that_o faith_n but_o that_o we_o bury_v they_o at_o the_o memory_n of_o the_o martyr_n as_o i_o have_v say_v before_o in_o this_o respect_n only_o it_o seem_v to_o i_o to_o advantage_v the_o dead_a namely_o that_o thereby_o the_o affection_n of_o his_o friend_n pray_v for_o he_o and_o commend_v he_o to_o the_o patronage_n of_o these_o martyr_n may_v be_v increase_v thus_o have_v you_o my_o answer_n frame_v as_o
