resurrection_n unite_v it_o to_o again_o how_o can_v this_o inclination_n be_v lay_v and_o its_o desire_n of_o live_v in_o its_o own_o body_n be_v satisfy_v by_o be_v put_v into_o a_o new_a body_n the_o resurrection_n by_o assure_v we_o we_o shall_v live_v again_o do_v speak_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o comfort_n to_o we_o who_o natural_o be_v afraid_a of_o and_o abhor_v death_n but_o it_o will_v their_o body_n their_o inclination_n to_o they_o will_v be_v their_o torment_n but_o if_o they_o go_v into_o their_o body_n again_o the_o rage_n and_o extravagancy_n of_o such_o appetite_n as_o they_o can_v meet_v with_o nothing_o to_o gratify_v they_o with_o will_v miserable_o disquiet_v they_o so_o that_o they_o will_v neither_o live_v at_o ease_n with_o nor_o without_o their_o body_n the_o resurrection_n will_v satisfy_v the_o inclination_n they_o have_v to_o live_v in_o their_o body_n again_o by_o restore_v they_o just_o such_o body_n as_o the_o sensuality_n of_o their_o temper_n can_v take_v pleasure_n in_o but_o the_o resurrection_n upon_o this_o account_n will_v not_o be_v grateful_a to_o they_o because_o it_o will_v restore_v they_o to_o such_o body_n as_o will_v call_v for_o the_o same_o enjoyment_n and_o gratification_n as_o here_o in_o this_o life_n they_o be_v please_v with_o in_o that_o place_n where_o there_o be_v not_o one_o drop_n of_o water_n to_o cool_v a_o scorch_a tongue_n and_o oh_o what_o will_v be_v the_o torment_n of_o be_v doom_v to_o unquenchable_a thirst_v what_o the_o misery_n of_o a_o spirit_n that_o be_v shut_v up_o in_o a_o body_n all_o on_o death_n and_o live_v too_o in_o those_o body_n that_o death_n deprive_v he_o of_o but_o that_o which_o make_v bad_a man_n so_o afraid_a of_o a_o resurrection_n be_v the_o too_o great_a love_n they_o have_v for_o this_o world_n and_o the_o pleasure_n of_o a_o sensual_a life_n ann_n that_o they_o by_o their_o way_n of_o live_v have_v put_v themselves_o into_o such_o a_o condition_n that_o they_o can_v live_v well_o nor_o happy_o anywhere_o else_o they_o will_v live_v but_o they_o will_v live_v nowhere_o but_o here_o where_o they_o find_v all_o the_o pleasure_n and_o delight_n they_o have_v any_o inclination_n to_o and_o be_v it_o to_o such_o a_o life_n that_o the_o resurrection_n will_v restore_v they_o they_o will_v without_o question_n be_v overjoy_v to_o think_v of_o live_v in_o their_o body_n again_o such_o as_o they_o be_v but_o since_o by_o pursue_v the_o pleasure_n of_o a_o sensual_a life_n they_o render_v themselves_o unfit_a for_o a_o glorious_a resurrection_n and_o uncapable_a of_o live_v in_o a_o state_n where_o they_o shall_v meet_v with_o none_o of_o the_o delight_n that_o they_o take_v pleasure_n in_o they_o choose_v to_o wish_v that_o they_o may_v never_o live_v more_o because_o they_o be_v sensible_a their_o bodily_a appetite_n when_o they_o have_v nothing_o to_o please_v they_o will_v make_v they_o miserable_a they_o by_o gratify_v their_o sense_n and_o studious_o provide_v for_o the_o pleasure_n of_o the_o body_n set_v such_o a_o edge_n upon_o their_o appetite_n that_o when_o they_o come_v into_o that_o other_o world_n where_o there_o be_v neither_o meat_n nor_o drink_n to_o satisfy_v their_o luxury_n nor_o riches_n nor_o honour_n to_o gratify_v their_o covetousness_n and_o ambition_n nor_o fleshly_a pleasure_n to_o delight_v a_o sensual_a disposition_n will_v fill_v they_o with_o as_o much_o anguish_n and_o pain_n as_o the_o man_n who_o for_o want_n of_o bread_n be_v force_v to_o eat_v his_o own_o flesh_n for_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v expect_v that_o those_o appetite_n that_o have_v put_v a_o man_n to_o a_o world_n of_o pain_n and_o trouble_v to_o satisfy_v they_o here_o that_o by_o the_o violence_n of_o their_o it_o or_o no_o we_o must_v die_v and_o it_o be_v not_o very_o wise_o do_v to_o let_v the_o thought_n of_o that_o which_o we_o can_v help_v be_v troublesome_a and_o disquiet_v to_o we_o upon_o this_o account_n we_o ought_v sure_o so_o to_o manage_v ourselves_o as_o we_o will_v do_v if_o we_o be_v in_o a_o strange_a country_n where_o though_o we_o meet_v with_o very_o delightful_a prospect_n to_o let_v we_o consider_v the_o folly_n of_o be_v fond_a of_o they_o as_o now_o they_o be_v one_o of_o the_o great_a temptation_n that_o we_o be_v subject_a to_o in_o this_o life_n do_v arise_v from_o the_o great_a love_n of_o and_o concern_v we_o have_v for_o our_o body_n for_o though_o we_o have_v soul_n as_o well_o as_o body_n and_o our_o soul_n be_v of_o infinite_a more_o value_n and_o worth_n in_o themselves_o as_o they_o be_v the_o breath_n of_o god_n and_o that_o part_n of_o we_o which_o make_v we_o man_n and_o of_o infinite_o the_o near_a concern_v to_o we_o as_o they_o be_v that_o part_n of_o we_o that_o make_v we_o capable_a of_o everlasting_a happiness_n or_o misery_n yet_o when_o the_o interest_n of_o these_o two_o part_n of_o we_o do_v thwart_o each_o other_o and_o both_o can_v be_v attend_v to_o at_o the_o same_o time_n we_o seem_v to_o set_v much_o less_o by_o our_o soul_n than_o our_o body_n and_o though_o we_o profess_v to_o believe_v that_o our_o body_n deserve_v not_o half_a the_o care_n that_o our_o soul_n do_v yet_o we_o make_v the_o interest_n of_o our_o soul_n to_o give_v place_n to_o those_o of_o our_o body_n our_o soul_n seem_v to_o lie_v at_o a_o further_a distance_n from_o we_o and_o be_v not_o so_o much_o within_o our_o ken_n as_o our_o body_n be_v we_o do_v so_n soon_o feel_v what_o they_o want_v nor_o be_v we_o so_o sensible_a what_o we_o be_v like_a to_o suffer_v by_o neglect_v they_o as_o when_o we_o lose_v a_o opportunity_n of_o provide_v for_o our_o flesh_n although_o knowledge_n and_o virtue_n be_v as_o necessary_a for_o the_o soul_n as_o food_n be_v for_o the_o body_n and_o our_o better_a part_n do_v languish_v and_o decay_v for_o want_v of_o they_o as_o much_o as_o our_o fleshly_a part_n do_v for_o want_v of_o the_o necessary_n of_o this_o life_n yet_o we_o do_v feel_v the_o pain_n of_o a_o soul_n that_o languish_v for_o want_v of_o its_o proper_a nourishment_n so_o much_o as_o we_o do_v the_o weakness_n of_o a_o starve_a body_n and_o therefore_o whatever_o the_o soul_n suffer_v we_o think_v ourselves_o under_o so_o indispensible_a a_o obligation_n to_o take_v care_n of_o our_o body_n that_o we_o afford_v little_a time_n for_o the_o improve_n of_o the_o soul_n there_o be_v no_o argument_n more_o common_a whereby_o we_o excuse_v ourselves_o from_o the_o exercise_n of_o religion_n which_o be_v design_v to_o nourish_v the_o spiritual_a life_n of_o the_o soul_n than_o the_o urgency_n and_o great_a necessity_n of_o our_o secular_a concern_v i.e._n those_o affair_n by_o which_o the_o body_n be_v to_o be_v provide_v for_o and_o when_o this_o necessity_n be_v plead_v conscience_n must_v be_v satisfy_v and_o the_o soul_n must_v not_o complain_v of_o its_o be_v almost_o famish_a but_o this_o fondness_n for_o our_o body_n be_v the_o occasion_n of_o much_o worse_a evil_n than_o the_o bare_a neglect_n of_o the_o soul_n for_o it_o be_v the_o occasion_n of_o all_o that_o injustice_n and_o oppression_n that_o want_v of_o faith_n and_o truth_n that_o theft_n and_o rapine_n that_o be_v commit_v in_o the_o world_n for_o why_o do_v man_n cheat_v and_o cozen_v but_o for_o the_o sake_n of_o their_o body_n why_o do_v they_o lie_v for_o a_o little_a advantage_n or_o invade_v their_o neighbour_n property_n and_o take_v away_o by_o force_n and_o violence_n that_o which_o be_v another_o man_n but_o only_o that_o they_o may_v be_v in_o a_o better_a condition_n to_o feed_v and_o pamper_v their_o body_n to_o indulge_v and_o gratify_v their_o fleshly_a lust_n do_v not_o man_n love_v their_o body_n too_o much_o there_o will_v be_v none_o of_o these_o mischievous_a vice_n in_o the_o world_n and_o yet_o the_o body_n we_o so_o much_o dote_v upon_o and_o for_o who_o sake_n we_o do_v so_o much_o mischief_n to_o ourselves_o and_o other_o be_v body_n that_o must_v die_v and_o perish_v body_n that_o be_v now_o subject_a to_o innumerable_a infirmity_n and_o carry_v so_o much_o imperfection_n in_o they_o as_o aught_o to_o make_v we_o ashamed_a of_o they_o or_o at_o least_o to_o carry_v very_o indifferent_o towards_o they_o but_o what_o a_o shameful_a thing_n be_v it_o so_o to_o love_v a_o lump_n of_o mortal_a flesh_n when_o there_o be_v a_o time_n come_v that_o unless_o by_o our_o sensuality_n we_o disappoint_v ourselves_o we_o shall_v receive_v they_o raise_v from_o their_o bed_n of_o corruption_n and_o clothe_v with_o immortality_n and_o glory_n do_v we_o only_o consider_v that_o erelong_o they_o must_v be_v lay_v in_o the_o dust_n and_o that_o then_o all_o our_o thought_n and_o project_n for_o thing_n relate_v to_o this_o life_n will_v be_v at_o a_o end_n it_o will_v check_v that_o extravagant_a love_n we_o have_v of_o they_o but_o how_o much_o more_o when_o we_o consider_v that_o we_o shall_v receive_v they_o again_o so_o spiritualise_v that_o they_o will_v no_o more_o need_v the_o thing_n that_o now_o we_o endeavour_v to_o please_v they_o with_o let_v we_o look_v forward_o to_o that_o time_n when_o unless_o we_o spoil_v they_o now_o they_o shall_v be_v improve_v to_o such_o a_o perfection_n and_o it_o will_v sure_o put_v we_o out_o of_o countenance_n to_o think_v of_o our_o folly_n in_o dote_v on_o they_o now_o so_o much_o when_o there_o be_v so_o little_a in_o they_o as_o deserve_v our_o love_n our_o body_n be_v it_o be_v true_a a_o part_n of_o we_o and_o we_o can_v but_o love_v that_o which_o be_v so_o near_o to_o we_o neither_o do_v religion_n charge_v a_o due_a care_n of_o they_o as_o a_o sin_n but_o it_o do_v tell_v we_o and_o our_o own_o reason_n tell_v we_o that_o it_o be_v a_o unaccountable_a folly_n to_o be_v so_o dote_o fond_a of_o corruptible_a dust_n as_o to_o pamper_v and_o deck_v these_o earthly_a body_n as_o if_o they_o be_v now_o in_o their_o best_a and_o most_o glorious_a condition_n and_o to_o be_v guilty_a of_o such_o sin_n now_o for_o the_o sake_n of_o they_o as_o will_v deprive_v we_o for_o ever_o of_o they_o again_o when_o we_o shall_v receive_v they_o immortal_a when_o they_o come_v out_o of_o their_o grave_n free_a from_o those_o extravagant_a appetite_n and_o unruly_a lust_n that_o now_o prompt_v we_o to_o such_o method_n of_o please_v they_o as_o carry_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o danger_n in_o they_o as_o they_o will_v do_v if_o we_o receive_v the_o wisdom_n that_o religion_n teach_v we_o they_o will_v then_o be_v high_o worthy_a of_o our_o value_n and_o esteem_n and_o then_o it_o will_v be_v a_o proper_a time_n to_o begin_v to_o love_v they_o when_o there_o be_v nothing_o cleave_v to_o they_o that_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v ashamed_a of_o 5._o how_o mean_o ought_v we_o to_o think_v of_o those_o pleasure_n that_o here_o in_o this_o world_n we_o be_v capable_a of_o the_o fondness_n for_o every_o thing_n whereby_o sense_n be_v gratify_v and_o the_o body_n delight_v it_o be_v this_o give_v reputation_n to_o the_o sport_n and_o frolic_n of_o wit_n even_o when_o they_o pass_v the_o bound_n of_o innocency_n and_o unmannerly_a break_n in_o upon_o the_o most_o sacred_a thing_n for_o a_o jest_n be_v so_o luscious_a a_o thing_n that_o it_o go_v down_o glib_o and_o great_a a_o evil._n but_o this_o be_v not_o the_o life_n we_o shall_v rise_v to_o but_o a_o life_n that_o death_n shall_v have_v no_o more_o power_n over_o this_o corruptible_a must_v put_v on_o incorruption_n and_o this_o mortal_a must_v put_v on_o immortality_n and_o then_o shall_v be_v bring_v to_o pass_v the_o say_n that_o be_v write_v death_n be_v swallow_v up_o in_o victory_n o_o death_n where_o be_v thy_o sting_n o_o grave_a where_o be_v thy_o victory_n 1_o cor._n 15.54_o 55._o and_o among_o all_o the_o other_o advantage_n of_o that_o life_n we_o shall_v then_o enter_v upon_o will_v then_o begin_v to_o be_v immortal_a it_o be_v not_o the_o soul_n that_o will_v then_o begin_v to_o be_v immortal_a for_o immortality_n be_v the_o privilege_n of_o this_o part_n of_o we_o even_o while_o it_o be_v now_o in_o the_o body_n but_o the_o immortal_a life_n we_o shall_v then_o begin_v to_o live_v be_v the_o life_n we_o now_o live_v only_o make_v immortal_a i.e._n when_o the_o resurrection_n have_v unite_v the_o soul_n and_o body_n together_o again_o this_o union_n will_v never_o more_o be_v break_v so_o that_o a_o immortal_a soul_n shall_v then_o live_v in_o a_o immortal_a body_n for_o ever_o and_o it_o be_v in_o this_o sense_n we_o be_v to_o understand_v the_o scripture_n when_o they_o speak_v of_o our_o put_n on_o immortality_n and_o the_o gospel_n bring_v immortality_n and_o life_n to_o light_v for_o if_o we_o consider_v the_o immortality_n of_o the_o soul_n that_o be_v a_o principle_n acknowledge_v and_o believe_v long_o before_o the_o gospel_n be_v preach_v so_o that_o it_o can_v be_v the_o make_v our_o soul_n immortal_a when_o it_o tell_v of_o our_o put_n on_o immortality_n now_o be_v it_o the_o soul_n immortality_n that_o be_v bring_v to_o light_n by_o the_o gospel_n for_o that_o be_v know_v long_o before_o but_o the_o immortality_n and_o life_n that_o we_o owe_v our_o knowledge_n of_o to_o the_o gospel_n be_v that_o indissoluble_a draw_v it_o off_o we_o reckon_v it_o deserve_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o respect_n and_o reverence_n and_o yet_o all_o this_o life_n which_o make_v such_o a_o noise_n among_o we_o and_o be_v of_o such_o mighty_a repute_n with_o we_o be_v only_o the_o dregs_o and_o relic_n of_o that_o life_n which_o the_o curse_n that_o be_v come_v upon_o we_o have_v take_v from_o we_o that_o liveliness_n and_o vivacity_n that_o belong_v to_o innocent_a man_n be_v sin_v away_o and_o go_v and_o the_o spirit_n that_o be_v leave_v we_o be_v the_o very_a refuse_n and_o bottom_n of_o what_o we_o be_v once_o store_v with_o and_o because_o these_o serve_v to_o feed_v life_n and_o be_v not_o run_v off_o sometime_o till_o three_o or_o fourscore_o year_n we_o persuade_v ourselves_o that_o we_o live_v a_o great_a while_n and_o yet_o if_o we_o arrive_v to_o the_o utmost_a length_n of_o life_n the_o true_a account_n that_o can_v be_v give_v of_o it_o be_v this_o that_o we_o have_v be_v so_o many_o year_n a_o die_v for_o the_o first_o step_n we_o take_v into_o the_o world_n be_v towards_o our_o grave_n and_o though_o we_o live_v to_o see_v thousand_o fall_n beside_o we_o and_o ten_o thousand_o at_o our_o right_a hand_n before_o it_o come_v nigh_o we_o yet_o all_o that_o can_v be_v say_v of_o we_o be_v this_o that_o we_o die_v a_o more_o linger_a death_n than_o other_o and_o beside_o a_o life_n of_o fourscore_o or_o a_o hundred_o year_n be_v so_o short_a in_o comparison_n of_o that_o which_o be_v eternal_a that_o it_o do_v not_o in_o the_o style_n of_o scripture_n deserve_v the_o name_n of_o life_n it_o be_v style_v vanity_n and_o compare_v to_o a_o shadow_n to_o instruct_v we_o that_o it_o have_v nothing_o of_o reality_n in_o it_o and_o when_o it_o be_v once_o spend_v what_o be_v become_v of_o all_o those_o year_n that_o we_o be_v say_v to_o live_v though_o man_n be_v so_o strong_a that_o he_o come_v to_o fourscore_o year_n yet_o be_v his_o strength_n then_o but_o labour_n and_o sorrow_n for_o it_o be_v soon_o cut_v off_o and_o we_o flee_v away_o psal_n 90.10_o but_o when_o the_o resurrection_n give_v we_o life_n again_o than_o it_o be_v that_o we_o shall_v in_o the_o most_o proper_a sense_n be_v bear_v to_o live_v for_o than_o we_o shall_v receive_v all_o that_o spirit_n and_o vigour_n that_o we_o have_v lose_v so_o much_o spirit_n that_o eternity_n shall_v never_o waste_v it_o and_o if_o we_o account_v a_o life_n of_o fourscore_o year_n venerable_a how_o much_o reverence_n ought_v we_o to_o have_v for_o a_o life_n that_o have_v no_o death_n at_o the_o end_n of_o it_o now_o this_o be_v the_o life_n we_o shall_v be_v bear_v to_o and_o begin_v to_o live_v when_o at_o the_o resurrection_n our_o soul_n take_v possession_n of_o our_o body_n again_o and_o can_v we_o but_o with_o steadiness_n enough_o apply_v our_o mind_n to_o the_o consideration_n and_o meaning_n of_o immortality_n this_o life_n will_v appear_v so_o much_o like_o a_o vapour_n or_o a_o sudden_a flash_n that_o give_v we_o no_o time_n to_o consider_v whether_o it_o be_v any_o thing_n or_o no_o as_o will_v abate_v of_o that_o respect_n and_o value_n we_o have_v for_o it_o for_o it_o be_v sure_a we_o can_v then_o only_o be_v say_v to_o begin_v to_o live_v when_o we_o begin_v to_o feel_v ourselves_o free_a from_o corruption_n and_o the_o approach_n of_o death_n 2._o we_o shall_v then_o begin_v to_o live_v that_o life_n we_o be_v appoint_v to_o for_o a_o mortal_a and_o corruptible_a life_n be_v not_o that_o which_o god_n design_v and_o make_v we_o for_o but_o it_o be_v the_o curse_n that_o sin_n have_v let_v in_o upon_o we_o the_o punishment_n god_n have_v subject_v we_o to_o for_o adam_n transgression_n by_o one_o man_n sin_n enter_v into_o the_o world_n and_o death_n by_o sin_n say_v the_o apostle_n rom._n 5.12_o i.e._n the_o mortal_a state_n we_o be_v now_o in_o be_v owe_v to_o adam_n disobedience_n for_o have_v not_o he_o disobey_v the_o command_n not_o to_o eat_v of_o the_o tree_n of_o knowledge_n we_o have_v not_o know_v what_o death_n mean_v in_o his_o state_n of_o innocency_n he_o be_v a_o probationer_n for_o immortality_n and_o the_o law_n that_o occasion_n of_o distrust_n in_o the_o case_n 1._o that_o this_o power_n be_v not_o give_v he_o to_o this_o purpose_n 2._o if_o it_o be_v we_o be_v not_o certain_a that_o he_o will_v make_v use_n of_o it_o now_o we_o be_v sufficient_o secure_v against_o any_o fear_n of_o this_o nature_n for_o 1._o if_o he_o have_v any_o power_n at_o all_o give_v he_o it_o must_v be_v to_o this_o purpose_n for_o mercy_n be_v suit_v to_o the_o natural_a condition_n of_o mankind_n a_o religion_n that_o only_o teach_v we_o our_o duty_n and_o what_o improvement_n be_v necessary_a to_o qualify_v we_o for_o immortality_n be_v not_o now_o so_o adapt_v to_o our_o nature_n as_o when_o man_n be_v innocent_a for_o because_o there_o be_v strong_a aversion_n in_o we_o to_o that_o which_o be_v good_a sensual_a inclination_n that_o render_v man_n sin_n very_o grateful_a to_o flesh_n and_o blood_n and_o by_o that_o mean_n give_v sin_n such_o a_o power_n over_o we_o that_o the_o conquest_n of_o one_o sin_n be_v many_o time_n the_o labour_n of_o a_o man_n life_n we_o be_v not_o in_o a_o condition_n to_o improve_v ourselves_o for_o immortality_n as_o innocent_a man_n may_v but_o though_o this_o be_v the_o acknowledgement_n of_o all_o man_n and_o the_o gospel_n upon_o that_o account_n do_v contain_v the_o best_a religion_n we_o can_v be_v under_o the_o government_n of_o yet_o the_o mercy_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o be_v the_o mercy_n we_o want_v be_v not_o so_o well_o consider_v but_o that_o many_o who_o believe_v it_o be_v mercy_n must_v save_v they_o do_v rest_n upon_o such_o mercy_n as_o will_v not_o save_v they_o for_o that_o which_o many_o find_v their_o hope_n upon_o be_v the_o simple_a consideration_n of_o the_o merciful_a nature_n of_o god_n without_o any_o regard_n to_o any_o particular_a instance_n wherein_o he_o have_v exemplify_v to_o we_o the_o mercy_n he_o will_v have_v we_o depend_v upon_o for_o because_o mercy_n be_v a_o attribute_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o rather_o than_o of_o justice_n if_o they_o be_v not_o conscious_a to_o themselves_o that_o they_o just_o lose_v they_o and_o since_o they_o be_v conscious_a of_o this_o in_o their_o own_o mind_n what_o reason_n have_v they_o to_o think_v that_o god_n will_v not_o do_v that_o which_o their_o own_o conscience_n tell_v they_o they_o have_v deserve_v and_o there_o be_v this_o further_a to_o prove_v the_o folly_n of_o such_o a_o hope_n that_o they_o see_v the_o mercy_n they_o trust_v to_o do_v not_o save_v they_o from_o the_o punishment_n of_o sin_n but_o death_n
