condemnation_n with_o the_o punishment_n of_o this_o curse_n in_o body_n and_o soul_n in_o this_o life_n and_o in_o the_o life_n to_o come_v even_o eternal_a death_n we_o therefore_o beseech_v the_o lord_n to_o assuage_v his_o deserve_a wrath_n not_o to_o kindle_v it_o against_o we_o or_o pour_v it_o out_o upon_o we_o to_o lay_v aside_o his_o indignation_n and_o embrace_v we_o with_o favour_n and_o mercy_n to_o become_v and_o to_o continue_v unto_o we_o a_o gracious_a and_o merciful_a father_n and_o reward_v we_o not_o according_a to_o our_o sin_n neither_o lay_v upon_o we_o the_o punishment_n of_o his_o curse_n nor_o cast_v we_o into_o prison_n till_o we_o have_v make_v satisfaction_n math._n 5.25_o and_o 18.34_o but_o pardon_v both_o the_o fault_n and_o the_o punishment_n of_o our_o sin_n to_o set_v we_o free_a from_o the_o bond_n or_o obligation_n thereto_o that_o we_o may_v say_v with_o paul_n who_o shall_v accuseu_n who_o shall_v condemn_v we_o it_o be_v god_n that_o justifi_v and_o forgive_v who_o shall_v condemn_v rom._n 8.33_o and_o see_v they_o be_v not_o general_o debt_n or_o sin_n but_o our_o debt_n therefore_o every_o one_o that_o be_v to_o pray_v must_v consider_v in_o each_o commandment_n of_o the_o law_n what_o sin_n he_o have_v run_v into_o and_o commit_v he_o must_v distinct_o observe_v whether_o they_o be_v sin_n of_o presumption_n psal_n 19.14_o or_o sin_n of_o infirmity_n and_o weakness_n for_o so_o shall_v we_o right_o pray_v for_o pardon_n according_a to_o the_o difference_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o because_o sin_n be_v never_o forgive_v unless_o we_o do_v repent_v jer._n 5.7_o and_o we_o of_o ourselves_o be_v careless_a according_a to_o our_o hard_a heart_n which_o can_v not_o repent_v we_o do_v not_o weigh_v and_o consider_v and_o count_v our_o sin_n how_o many_o how_o great_a and_o how_o grievous_a they_o be_v we_o do_v not_o earnest_o grieve_v for_o our_o sin_n nor_o from_o our_o heart_n detest_v and_o forsake_v they_o we_o do_v not_o turn_v from_o they_o but_o delight_n in_o our_o sin_n and_o declare_v the_o same_o as_o sodom_n isa_n 3.9_o we_o have_v not_o the_o sear_n of_o god_n before_o our_o eye_n neither_o be_v affect_v with_o the_o sense_n of_o god_n wrath_n therefore_o when_o we_o pray_v for_o the_o pardon_n of_o our_o sin_n we_o do_v withal_o entreat_v that_o god_n by_o his_o spirit_n will_v cast_v out_o of_o we_o all_o security_n that_o sin_n may_v not_o sleep_v or_o lie_v dead_a in_o we_o but_o may_v be_v raise_v by_o the_o law_n that_o he_o will_v take_v from_o we_o our_o stony_a and_o impenitent_a heart_n and_o give_v unto_o we_o a_o fleshy_a and_o repentant_a heart_n which_o may_v acknowledge_v and_o detest_v it_o own_o sin_n which_o may_v bewail_v the_o same_o and_o fear_n in_o the_o sense_n &_o acknowledgement_n of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o likewise_o we_o do_v also_o pray_v that_o he_o will_v lift_v we_o up_o again_o by_o true_a faith_n and_o preserve_v we_o from_o despair_n for_o by_o say_v we_o receive_v the_o forgiveness_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o because_o this_o petition_n of_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n be_v join_v by_o a_o conjunction_n copulative_a unto_o the_o four_o petition_n where_o we_o pray_v for_o daily_a bread_n for_o the_o day_n therefore_o we_o be_v command_v to_o make_v this_o petition_n for_o the_o pardon_n of_o our_o sin_n every_o day_n and_o withal_o we_o be_v admonish_v to_o take_v heed_n that_o we_o do_v not_o so_o heap_v our_o sin_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v find_v in_o the_o book_n of_o god_n judgement_n dan._n 7.10_o without_o forgiveness_n but_o we_o must_v every_o day_n pray_v that_o our_o daily_a sin_n may_v be_v blot_v out_o that_o they_o be_v not_o write_v with_o a_o pen_n of_o iron_n and_o that_o we_o may_v not_o heap_v up_o unto_o ourselves_o wrath_n against_o the_o day_n of_o wrath_n rom._n 2.5_o and_o because_o god_n have_v appoint_v and_o ordain_v certain_a mean_n whereby_o he_o will_v bestow_v and_o we_o must_v receive_v the_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n therefore_o we_o do_v likewise_o pray_v that_o god_n will_v give_v we_o such_o a_o mind_n whereby_o we_o may_v not_o contemn_v or_o neglect_v but_o daily_o exercise_v the_o use_n of_o the_o key_n of_o heaven_n the_o hear_n of_o the_o word_n the_o use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n and_o other_o exercise_n of_o faith_n and_o prayer_n that_o god_n will_v not_o give_v we_o up_o to_o a_o reprobate_a sense_n void_a of_o all_o grief_n not_o regard_v our_o sin_n or_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n rom._n 1.28_o eph._n 4.17_o and_o last_o we_o pray_v that_o we_o may_v not_o be_v prevent_v by_o death_n before_o our_o sin_n be_v remit_v and_o forgive_v and_o that_o before_o the_o end_n of_o this_o life_n we_o may_v use_v those_o mean_n whereby_o the_o pardon_n of_o our_o sin_n may_v ordinary_o be_v grant_v unto_o us._n these_o so_o many_o and_o so_o great_a blessing_n must_v we_o conceive_v in_o our_o mind_n when_o we_o pray_v forgive_v we_o our_o sin_n whereby_o we_o may_v plain_o see_v what_o devotion_n and_o intention_n of_o mind_n be_v require_v in_o the_o very_a act_n of_o prayer_n now_o all_o these_o thing_n we_o must_v ask_v for_o the_o whole_a body_n of_o the_o church_n in_o general_a private_o for_o ourselves_o and_o namely_o for_o those_o who_o necessity_n we_o know_v for_o we_o say_v our_a debt_n or_o trespass_n and_o although_o the_o three_o latter_a petition_n be_v deprecatorie_a that_o be_v such_o wherein_o we_o pray_v against_o evil_n yet_o they_o may_v be_v well_o apply_v to_o the_o four_o general_a head_n set_v down_o in_o the_o beginning_n and_o so_o ought_v to_o be_v for_o as_o we_o have_v show_v that_o in_o the_o former_a petitorie_a blessing_n petitorie_a that_o be_v such_o petition_n wherein_o we_o crave_v some_o blessing_n petition_n be_v contain_v prayer_n against_o evil_n thanksgiving_n and_o confession_n of_o sin_n so_o there_o be_v the_o same_o reason_n in_o these_o deprecatorie_a they_o contain_v in_o they_o petition_n for_o some_o blessing_n thanksgiving_n and_o confession_n as_o we_o forgive_v our_o debtor_n luke_n have_v it_o thus_o καὶ_n γὰÏ_n ἀυτοὶ_n for_o we_o also_o forgive_v now_o we_o must_v not_o take_v the_o similitude_n according_a to_o matthew_n to_o be_v equal_a altogether_o as_o though_o god_n shall_v forgive_v with_o no_o more_o perfect_a measure_n of_o mercy_n than_o we_o forgive_v other_o for_o the_o flesh_n fight_v against_o the_o spirit_n in_o we_o even_o then_o when_o we_o be_v reconcile_v to_o our_o neighbour_n and_o god_n himself_o show_v inequality_n between_o they_o ose_n 11.8_o i_o shall_v make_v thou_o as_o adama_n and_o zeboim_n but_o i_o will_v
